(12 - 11) + (9 - 10) = 0
Metal claws would meet with short earthen fur, but they'd prove insufficient to cut into the Drilbur's hide. Worse off was Ryuu, as the Larvitar would find himself being backhanded by a set of thick digging claws. From there the Drillbur would break into a Rapid Spin, claws slicing anything in their path as Sarge began rotating at a high velocity.
Pickle on the other hand would disappear beneath the earth. She was doing what her kind were best at....digging. Hopefully the results would turn out better then last time...this time she'd be certain to slam Ryuu into the ceiling!

Riku watched. This battle was going nowhere. They needed to do something and quick. This time the Drillber's attack didn't look as strong. "Risk it!"
Yoshi tried avoiding the oncoming attack from the Drillber. He had gotten close and failed. The Totodile began his little skipping back and forth motion trying to keep distance between the two. That was when he heard Riku yelling. Okay, was this safe? The blue reptile trusted her and charged forth with Metal Claw!
Meanwhile Ryuu tried to figure out where the Diglett was going to appear. He hadn't landed his attack either but could only watch the ground intently.. But then he remembered that hadn't been enough last time. The Larvitar charged aiming to slam into the Drillber with Bite and protect Yoshi in a counter attack!

[+1 to Yoshi's ATK!]Gleaming claws would dig deep into the Drilbur's fur this time, drawing blood just as Ryuu's mouth would clamp down on the end Drillbur's shoulder, producing an audible crunch as bones snapped. The Ground-Type would flinch at that, shaking the Larvitar off before throwing his claws up defensively. There was no chance of him counter-attacking while he suppressed the pain.
In the mean time Ryuu would have bigger problems however, the earth beginning to shudder and rise up from underneath him. The next moment a thick limbless body would thrust out of the ground, intent on knocking the Larvitar off his feet to land straight on his face!

Yoshi meanwhile felt a little successful. He had managed to strike down his opponent. Claw gleaming again, he could feel the Feraligatrs power pulsing through him. This was going to be it! Time to finish the Drillber! Claws gleaming silver, he aimed to slash through Sarge with Metal Claw!
Ryuu charged ahead and had managed to land a decent hit on the Drillber. The Larvitar felt the ground shaking and then spotted something trying to pop up. This time, he tried to leap over the Diglett's head to avoid the oncoming attack. He was aiming to Bite down on the Drillber once more and end this!

Yoshi's strike would prove hardly effective, the Totodile's claws barely nicking the Drilbur...but it left the Ground-Type plenty distracted, allowing Ryuu's mouth to sink deep into the Pokemon's body. Blood would fill the Larvitar's mouth, and the Drilbur would pass out.
Pickle would miss by a mile, but true to form she'd disappear back beneath the ground.
Meanwhile the Veteran would cluck his tongue, recalling the Drilbur "Hold the line kid. I'm no further use here!" The man said before turning around swiftly and darting down the tunnel "I'll send the word out!"
The boy visibly gulped, shaking like a leaf.

Yoshi began to jump up and down once again. He went from hopping to walking a little then turning. He began to run a little and then shift back to jumping. It looked a little crazy but it seemed the Totodile knew what he was doing. It was such a random pattern that changed quickly so the Diglett wouldn't be able to hit him!
Ryuu just stared at the ground watching. He was prepared to leap at any moment's notice. One down, one to go was what he thought. It didn't mean he would underestimate this enemy. Waddling slightly, he stared intensely in random directions... no telling which place it would pop out from!

Yoshi ran towards the Diglett tail lashing through the air from side to side behind him. He came closer and closer noticing that the Diglett had popped back up. Claws glowing silver, he basically dove towards the pokemon aiming to lash out at it with Metal Claw!
Ryuu managed to pop out at last minute when he felt the earth rumbling. Quite easily this time, he avoided the other pokemon. Seeing Yoshi charge, he almost came forward. He was aiming to Bite down on the Diglett from the other side!

Amazingly the combined efforts of the two Pokemon would fail spectacularly, as the Diglett dropped into the ground and caused the two to collide. Both Yoshi and Ryuu would feel their heads smack together; and in the mean time Pickle would appear at Yoshi's back, causing several small stones to come loose from the earth and fly at the Totodile's back like claws. An odd form of a Scratch attack!

Yoshi stayed calm even when the Diglett came towards him. But then the pokemon turned away. What? Stones came flickering towards him and he didn't flinch. Okay, just needed to improvise. The Totodile's tail whacked through the air, aiming to hit the rocks away and prevent them from scratching him.
Ryuu would see that the Diglett was charging towards Yoshi. He began moving as fast as he could to try and help his partner out!

((Small note Riku. Ryuu doesn't have Sand Veil any more. Hidden Abilities are only active when partnered with a Tactic's Student.))
As luck would have it Yoshi's attempts at a defense would succeed, where as Ryuu would find himself never reaching his goal in time. Her efforts foiled the Diglett would sink into the ground, bursting out periodically in the classic 'whack-a-mole' defense.

Yoshi exchanged a look with Ryuu and the pair launched off. The Totodile went left where the Diglett was popping out of various holes. He wasn't sure which hole the pokemon would come out of but he was watching. Keeping light on his feet, he was trying to be able to move fast enough to catch the ground pokemon. Running back and forth, he finally thought he saw the Diglett. Claw flashing silver, he aimed to hit it with Metal Claw!
Ryuu went right, watching the various holes as well. He was very focused, shifting at a much slower rate then his partner. The Larvitar spotted the Diglett and then lunged, trying to Bite it!

Sadly though surprisingly quick, both Pokemon would come up short against the Diglett's defense. It didn't seem like either of them were very good at carnival games...unlike their trainer. As the Diglett disappeared down the last hole she would not come back up. Taking the opportunity the Pokemon had opted for another Dig attack...aiming yet again for the more vulnerable Ryuu.

Yoshi remembered that his previous method had worked. Once again he began hopping up and down, weaving from side to side. He alternated running, hopping, jumping and just moving in various directions. There was something like a smile on the Totodile's face as he moved around. It was obvious that he was having fun trying to avoid whatever was coming!
Ryuu on the other hand took a more serious turn. He glanced at the ground, watching it carefully. Moving at a slower pace, he just continued to move. The Larvitar knew that something was going to pop out and he was worried that it would appear randomly. Keeping alert, he watched it ready to leap away to avoid when the Diglett tried to pop out of the ground.
