"Avarice is alright. My guess is that he wants to see you." Neil told her as he sat down in one of the chairs in the room. "Is it as you thought, are you getting released today?" He asked as he rested his arms on the armrest of the chair.

Jasmine only nodded, not trusting her voice. She didn't want him to know she had helped her brother once. She had not known what she was doing at the time.

"I assume you are wanting to get out of here now, so I will step outside so you can get dress." Neil said as he stood back up and slowly started towards the door.

"I can't end up here again Neil," Jasmine said, her voice shaking. "I can't mess up again or else I go to prison..." She felt the tears start to fall but didn't care. She needed to tell him.

Neil stopped walking and turned around as she spoke. He saw the tears start to fall and he moved back to her side and sat down on the bed beside her. He put an arm around her and pulled her in to his arms.

Jasmine blinked and looked at him. She couldn't help that her mind could only focus on him when he touched her. She blinked her tears away but continued. "I helped my brother with one of his murders when he first started," she whispered. "I was out of it at the time, didn't know what I was helping him do. I found out the next day...and I left his place."

Neil didn't interrupt her he nodded his head as she spoke. He tighten his arms around her. He was unsure of what to said so he remained quiet. After a few moments he kissed her head.

"You see why my mom wants me to settle down," Jasmine said, not taking her eyes off him. "She doesn't want me to get caught up in what I was before that day. I've been trying to make up for all I've done."

Neil nodded his head as understanding flowed into him. "Yes I see now. And it makes sense." He told her as the pieces fell into place, that was the reason for why she went out and acted the way that she did.

Jasmine sighed. "I should have told you all that before," she said, looking away. "Neil, I'm sorry for not telling you sooner. I'm clean now, no more drinking and such. I have been since that day. Considering how I feel about you I thought it was time you knew."

"Yes, it is best that I know this. Still doesn't change much though." Neil told her as he looked at her. He was glad that she was able to tell him this, and he would not tell anyone about it. He would do his best to make sure she was safe.

Neil let his eyes fall to the floor as he quietly said after a moment "The way I feel about you." He couldn't bring himself to pull his eyes back up to her as he waited for her reply.

Neil was quiet a few moments as he struggled to get his mouth to speak the words that would answer her question. He couldn't get the words out. He pulled his eyes up off the floor but he couldn't speak. He kissed her on her lips, that was his answer to her question.
