((*Checks back on page 3* It says Rachel there << Was that Joy lying or a stand in?))
Jasmine's confused perplexion said it all, she int know how to respond here, but it was clear now words had failed, either the man WAS truly delusional or there was something she was missing in this picture!
"I guess we have no choice now Burnout, meet them head on."
The Lampent would nod, and even as the mutt ran at him, his golden flame danced, rising higher and higher in defiance of the ice type attack, his small metal arms curled as he would look to hit the Snubbull head on indeed, redirect it and throw it aside, damage looked likely, but he was going to do everything possible now to lessen the blow!

((No, the man doesn't actually know the Nurse Joy's name, like most people sweatdrop ))
Probably to both of their shocks it would work .....as the pokemon was sent flying backwards a few paces. His maw hadn't been able to get a hold as those small arms as had sent him reeling backwards.
Eyes narrowed, the man wasn't willing to stop there.
"Counter-attack, use Ice Fang again."
"You did have a choice missus, not to steal from me."
He would tell Jasmine rudely as the Snubbull on all fours would come back at the Lampent with his attack.

((*Head smack* Ahhh... ))
Jasmine watched as the Snubbull came rushing back upon them in an already aggressive looking counter attack!
She wouldn't answer the man, not immediately at least, Burnout needed her attention more than anything else first.
"Heatwave, head straight up!"
Burnout got the message loud and clear, as a loud clack issued from the housing around his flame, he would release the blast of hot air, and with all his spectral weight, rose like a balloon of hot air, looking to simultaneously propel himself away from the Snubbull, whilst bombarding it with fire to boot!
Only then as command given, would Jasmine look back to the man, "I told you I did not steal, and you chose not to believe me!"
"Unless you charge for individual leaves of your sick trees, I don't imagine there would be much patronage for those."
But then a thought hit Jasmine, a realisation of what the man had said...
"...You said something mixed in."
"Are you telling me you've found an antidote for plants affected by this sickness?"

The Snubbull would be sent away as the waves of heat hit him. Rolling once and then back on his paws, he was hurting, as he would touch his burnt face ....as the heat would cause blistering and bleeding there ....but he had dealt with worst ....as he moves and noticed that the burning hadn't stop there. On his shoulders, his neck, and even on his back ...there was blisters that boil and bleed, and the skin there was hot to the touch. It hurt everywhere, but he knew that he couldnt' stop now. No command needed to be given here as he would once more use Ice Fang.
(18 - 14 + 11 - 10 = 5x2 = 10dmg)

"Sounds like a good plan to me."
He would response to her first statement, and then to her second he would simply laugh in her face.
"Like hell, I am going to tell you that?"
The man would retort to her as he glare daggers. Though the answer to that question should have been obvious, otherwise, what would be the point of Jasmine taking that back as a sample. He no more had the answer to this problem then anyone else, but, maybe that was where she was missing the point.
If he didn't have the solution, maybe he had something else.

The Snubbull was hit good and well, it certainly no longer looked as cute as it had previously... And still it came back for more, Burnout could see this one had been trained hard and consistently do to make up for its lack of intimidating appearance!
"Burnout, turn down the flame and show it some gas instead!"
Indeed he would. As the top metal plate would clench against the flow of flame, causing gas an smoke to circle and slither, filling the Stubg casing... Then all it once he opened the housing, unleashing the gases upon the Snubbull to confound its attack and obscure himself as he would dodge within it!
But Jasmin looked at the man, clearly this was going nowhere... But he was hiding something...
"Tell you what."
"I couldn't care less myself if you have a secret you use on your trees, but if it might be something that can help us, I have to."
"If I win, you tell me your secret, the one that got you so agitated at my presence here."
"And also? That you donate a portion of your healthy stock to Joy at the center as an apology for wasting her time and for not even knowing her name! She'll need all te help she can healing those patients just now!"
She would wait, for inevitably, what HE would ask...

"Like hell I will." "I was planning on taking your unconscious body to the Nurse Joy for confirmation, but, now I think I will deal with you like any of the vermin around here."
"You will simply disappear."
The man declares with a smirk as the Snubbull's bite would find it's mark this time. Hard enough to make Burnout flinch as the smog didn't seem to deter his attack ...not one little bit as he release for a moment and then went at him again from a different angle. This Ice fang had a touch of ice to it that seemed to be nothing but cold.
The man was smiling dangerously at her at this point.
(16 - 7 + 14 - 12 = 11/2 = 5.5 rounds to 6dmg + flinch)

The idea may have been sound in mind, but in practise it seemed the Smog was a failure for one good reason.
The flame was still there, and in the murk it had lead the Snubbull to Burmout, as gas cooled and became a fine purple spray that dissipated away, the only saving grace for the former Arcanine being his flame that kept the ice from solidifying, as he would drift back to Jasmine.
His joints were stiff, everything scraped and slowed as he had flinched, and now it seemed he was forced to sit complacent, as Jasmine looked on at the man.
"...You accuse me of theft, then declare a death threat?"
"I can understand you telling me to go to hell for asking much of your livelihood, but you won't even help Joy willingly?"
"I'm a medic, I don't place lives on the line..."
"So I guess it's up to me and Burnout to show you a thing or two about us."
She would nod to Burnout as he would begin to recover from the Flinch, but of course, te Snubbull had time to recover too...
They knew what attack was coming, the just didn't know HOW he would attack next...

(12 - 6 + 14 - 12 = 8/2 = 4dmg + flinch)
It would be from underneath as the Snubbull would catch the Lampent again. Those fangs sinking deep before he would release to land back on his four feet again.
"Humph, that is your story .....doesn't mean I have to believe it nor that I have to listen to it either."
The man would tell Jasmine to her face.
"Good luck on the showing, but the way this fight is going ....the only thing you will be showing is ...how right I am."
he would declares with a smirk as the pokemon went in for another Ice fang as this time he would aim for the back. Knowing that the cold was making it harder and harder for this pokemon to keep up with his movements.

((I thought the 12 was your defense roll, hence why I only showed Burnout flinching, I just threw the roll to see if I'd get a critical or a fumble ^^;; ))
Ice cracked, almost as if the glass on the Lampent was coming undone as well...
"I might not be able to make you believe my words... but you have no idea what my pokémon are capable of!"
"Counter!"
There was of course only one attack Burnout would use, as the Snubbull dived at his back, they'd wonder perhaps how the attack would hit, but as that ice cracked, the metal housing opened up, and the Snubbull could see it was diving at the bare flame!
A flame that suddenly exploded and propelled itself, firing backward at it mid attack, the rest of Burnout's body and face suddenly swivelling to follow it to boot!

(Why would it be his defensive roll when I even acknowledged that your pokemon flinched? I even wrote that he used Ice Fang again, and sorry to tell you this Jazz, but you can't counter when your pokemon has been flinched)
(-1 to attack rolls) The Snubbull would fall on his face this time ...instead of catching the opponent in his teeth as the last opening was lost. Trying to climb quickly to his feet as his opponent came in for the attack ....he would decided instead to simply roll as he tries to avoid the incoming attack.

((Sorry, I didn't see you calling the attack, like I said, I acknowledge it now, lol...))
((And also, I forgot the no counter rule after missing the attack, so, here's hoping for some better results...))
Jasmine looked on, they had a brief escape, it was a vast relief, if it had kept hitting and flinching Burnout, then what could she have done?
Now, they had a chance, but she looked at the Snubbull there, it was so agile, maybe this time, instead of an offensive move...
"Burnout, we need to fix that defense."
"Minimize your flame!"
Burnout would blanch, the idea was not one he agreed to, but, for having to recover, as ice fell off his metal limbs, he would let the flame slowly turn downward, compacting his essence...

(it's okay, I miss like that plenty of times)
The Snubbull saw that it wasn't the sort of attack he was expecting as he would rush forward. His fangs glistening once more with ice as he moved to stop that attack simply by attacking himself.
The Snubbull's eyes were locked on the bottom of that cylinder, the place where he thought the pokemon was the weakest ...as the ice would fall away, but not all of it. And he wanted to make sure that he coated this pokemon even further with his ice as he lunges clearing the ground as he went for that spot with another Ice Fang.
The man would chuckle lightly.
"Fix that defense, sounds more like an academy brat than someone from the school of medics." "Fix that defense, ..."
The man would repeat those words even as he laughed to himself. The laugh growing bit by bit with each word spoken ...as it would seem he was starting to lose a bit of his own touch on sanity.

It was a case of time, Burnout still didn't know how to use the move, he was still not used to his spectral form, and before the Minimize could even properly go ahead, the Snubbull was already getting up and after him...
They needed to switch gears and quickly, Jasmine looked at the man, had she really sounded that strange after all?
No matter.
"Intercept it with your Heatwave!"
It was already aiming for the flame's housing, the thing was already running right towards him as Burnout released the culinder downward, the open flame suddenly went from trying to become smaller to suddenly erupting in an outward burst, blasting at the incoming Snubbull!
((EDIT: ...))
((I only take small comfort in the fact that the Snubbull's earlier minus means this isn't a flinch))
[6+14] - [1+12] = 7, /2 RESISTANCE, X2 COUNTER = 7 DMG

((Luckily enough, I already know what my move is for this turn without you needing roll anything for it << ))
It was a mistake after all, as they would move, the cylinder went down, but it seemed the Snubbull was a fast learner, it dodged, right underneath the flames, and its Ice Fangs caught the housing itself!
And as the ice gathered around it, the flame went erratic in pain, the moves effects were indeed disruptive beyond belief!
-1 TO ALL DEF ROLLS
Burnout = 3 HP remaining
Jasmine bit down, she hadn't expected things to get this bad...
She took her potion that Joy had gave her, she wanted to save this for emergencies... but a now unstable man threatening to kill her?
Burnout certainly needed this, as she flung the item, as it shattered against the same housing, and when Burnout would retract it inside, the wreathing ethers of healing formula began to take their effect, as glass cracks would seal, as the flame would burn brighter, and restored, he floated there...
Burnout = 20 HP remaining
Jasmine wished she'd had a bit better luck, but there was nothing they could do there, even if they hadn't countered, it was already a bad situation.
Now, they had to keep fighting... and she'd used up their chance to attack.
Now, it was the man's turn to attack, or would he take her lead with some kind of healing move also?

Though the man saw no need to heal as of yet, as he would point at the Lampent.
"Don't give them a inch, use Ice Fang."
The hound would look back at him only once before charging forward with his jaw open. He would rush with his arms spread to the side, and with his eyes glowing with power. He already knew how he was going to end this, with his fangs deep into the skin of his opponent ....crunching the flesh into pieces underneath his mighty fangs.
Feeling bone and blood ...well ...this was a ghost type, so he had to think more of something else. He would feel the breaking of glass and the twisting of metal, and somehow, the excitement the Snubbull had felt at the beginning of his charge would wane by the time he actually clamp down on the Lampent.
He would get no enjoyment out of crushing this pokemon, just the knowledge that he had crushed it.
