Pepperdust entered the camp, surprisingly making it back before Silverpaw, who had left before her. She saw Firepaw practically dancing on his feet. "Silverpaw is fine, if a bit sore. I think her mind will be more hurt then her body." She told him before heading off to sit beside Antswarm. He smiled as she approached, and she flopped down beside him. .◘ .◘ Antswarm .◘.◘

Antswarm knew Pepperdust well enough to know something was plaguing her mind. "What's wrong, child?" He asked her kindly, not pressing her if she'd rather work through it alone.
"I have trouble finding a balance between not wanting to cause Silverpaw danger, or making her hate me, and giving her tough love, and making her work."He heard her say in a small voice. He knew she hated admitting her doubts.
"I see. You need to remember she has a condition that can make what seems like simple training to you, as dangerous and scary as a real battle for her." He said kindly. "And perhaps in time, she will see that you don't act the way you do to be hurtful." He bent over and licked her between her ears, and she purred in response.
"Thank you."
"Anytime."

The silver tabby she-cat padded into the camp, her belly feeling sore and swollen, and she lay down in the clearing, wincing as she lay down, and she saw Firepaw being the jittery tom-cat he was, and she called over to him.
"Firepaw, over here." She mewed towards to flame-orange tom.

Firepaw jumped and whipped his head around at Pepperdust when the warrior padded up to him on his blind and deaf side. But that heart-racingness was pushed away when she said Silverpaw was sore. What happened?!
As if to answer his unasked question, sort of, she called out to him. He was glad she was on his right side and quickly padded over to her. "Silverpaw! Are you okay?" Firepaw meowed, gently looking her over to see if he could see any injuries on her.

She watched quietly as Firepaw looked over her, feeling a little self-conscious with him watching her. What if she didn't look perfect? What if there was something in her fur, or she missed a spot when she was making sure she wasn't bloodied anywhere? She shook her head, and it hurt a little to do so, but she pretended the pain wasn't there and looked at Firepaw.
"It's nothing, I just fell, it was a stupid mistake." She mewled, trying to shake him off. She didn't feel comfortable with all the attention from the handsome tom.

Firepaw let himself flop down beside his friend when she shook her head. Pepperdust said she was sore and that she was hurt. Well not in those exact words but still. He sighed and shook his head.
"Okay... If you're sure." He meowed, glancing every once and a while to his blind-deaf side to make sure no one was trying to sneak up on him.
"So.. How'd training go?" Firepaw asked as he looked back to Silverpaw, deciding to change the subject off of her 'injuries that she may or may not have'.

She smiled a little when Firepaw relaxed beside her and let the topic go, and when he asked how the training went, the silver tabby frowned. It hadn't been a great training session, her mentor thought she was useless anyways. She just leaned against him, thankful for the presence holding her up.
"It wasn't great, Pepperdust wanted me to do battle training, and then I got hurt, it's nothing bad."

Firepaw glanced at his friend when she leaned against him. Her mentor had done battle training?
"I guess the battle training itself isn't too bad..." The vibrant orange tom meowed slowly. "But I think she needs to remember to be careful with you." Firepaw gently nosed Silverpaw. "You're fragile." He purred slightly.
And that was true. She was more fragile than most apprentices but that wasn't her fault. It wasn't like she asked for it. Still the clan needed to remember to be careful when training Silverpaw.
Firepaw sighed and glanced sideways for a moment.

She could hear that in the way the fiery red tom was talking that he was either trying to reassure her or tell her that her mentor wasn't careful. Then he called her fragile, and she flinched. She didn't mean to be born with this mysterious bleeding condition, she didn't ask to. But because she was, and because she asked to be treated the same as other apprentices, her mentor was just giving her tough love. But what if Silverpaw was actually hurt during training? She glanced at her belly, still feeling a bit swollen, and then glanced at Firepaw.
"She probably won't , knowing Pepperdust." She murmured quietly.

Firepaw almost sighed when Silverpaw flinched. Had he hit a nerve? That was one thing he wasn't trying to do. He was trying to be careful with his words.
"Still..." He trailed off. "It's possible to treat a cat the same as other apprentices and still be careful..." He pointed out, not quite sure if this conversation was going anywhere.
The young tom perked his ears up and looked at the pretty silver she-cat. "You know... I was listening to Robinwing's and Moonkit's conversation. And I noticed something." He glanced at the sky. "The clouds make all sorts of cool shapes." Firepaw purred, trying to change the subject to a happier one.

The silver tabby purred when Firepaw changed the topic, and mentioned that he had noticed that the clouds made different shapes. "If you were listening to Robinwing and Moonkit, then you wouldn't have noticed the clouds, would you?" She mewed amusedly. But she proceeded to stare at the clouds, noticing a cloud that looked like a bird.

Firepaw flicked Silverpaw on the ear with his paw. "Well... I...." He sighed and shook his head. "Well fine... That's what they were talking about and I happened to look up." He tried to say it in a huff but ended up purring.

Silverpaw let out a purr of amusement, thankful that there was a cat who could still be there for her, and be there to cheer her up when her mentor wouldn't. What was the worst, though, was the fact that her mother was the ThunderClan deputy and she had so much to live up to, if only she could accomplish a mousetail's worth of what her mother could do. Why did Sandleaf have to be so amazing? She sighed, but then turned to lean back on Firepaw, just content to be in his company. Purring, she just stared at him.

Firepaw couldn't help but purr more when Silverpaw did so. She was finally happy. It was great! He sighed and curled his tail around himself. Must be hard... Having a deputy for a parent. The vibrant coloured tom thought for a moment. He glanced at Silverpaw to find her looking at him. Beaming, he playfully nudged her shoulder.

Silverpaw laughed when Firepaw nudged her shoulder, if only training was this easy, without being told what she was doing wrong, and just having fun with someone who cared about her well-being. If that was possible, Silverpaw would do battle training anyday.

Firepaw purred. He loved making others laugh, especially Silverpaw; she had a really nice laugh. Kind of contagious really.
The vibrant orange tom rolled onto his back and looked at Silverpaw. "Do you think I'll pass my warrior assessment?" He asked her suddenly. He wasn't too sure about it, he hoped that he would but you never know.
