The whispers were starting to fill her ears once more and the ghoul bit down on her lip, her fingers pressed against them as she quivered in a mixture of rage and confusion. She didn't understand.
So much for their help by the way, hissed the harsh one, Look at them now, homeless, helpless, relying on us when it should have been them all this while. See how quickly they tumbled against the hunters, and yet they dare mock us and belittle us. Hah.
Her eyes shifted around, moving from each of the three figures to the other.
We would have been just as helpless; you forget, we too owe them a favour for letting us learn from them, the gentle one whispered, Be sympathetic, they have just lost their homes while ours still stands. Tomorrow, she'd deal with all of this tomorrow.
The ghoul gritted her teeth.
For how long?
Squeezing her eyes shut, if just for a moment, she managed to shut the voices out. This was insane. She was insane. Everything ... she'd sort everything out later. The whispers were coming back to her again. All she needed was to be alone now ... and get some rest.

Mandy sat on the floor, arms curled around her knees as she tried not to drift off again, watching distantly as a Bogeyman approached Medea. She had woken a few minutes ago, dizzy and feeling like she was going to hurl whenever she attempted to stand and so she had merely sat as she observed all the other students around her slowly stir.
She sighed stuffing her head into her arms to block everything out for a moment, she just wanted her ghoulfriend – to curl up in her arms and cry before pretending for a while that none of this had happened, that instead her exchange had happily and that the most exciting thing she had done was the trance with Medea.
Grimacing as that thought just brought forth images of them and of wreckage they had left behind she pulled her head up, looking at the Priestess as the Bogeyman began to talk. She was glad the Clans had been given permission to stay in Halloween, it wasn’t hard to find out that most people’s opinions of them was less than positive. What did truly surprise her though was the request for them to come with and the acknowledgement that they had saved the Clans.
Many times before Mandy had felt that what the students had done had been ignored, or outright repressed, but this one time… she at least did not feel like she deserved the praise. How had they helped? All they had done was distract the Hunter’s for a little while… they hadn’t managed to stop anything. She clenched her first.
Maybe if they had acted earlier, way earlier back when the Hunter’s whilst frightening had seemed fewer and less powerful they could have prevented this but…
It was never good enough, she was never good enough. (It felt like Red all over again, where had been the signs they had missed?)
This time when she stood to follow the congregation she managed not to falter, she may not feel deserving but they had been asked for and she would not on this deny the Clans wishes.
The place they were led to was… nice. Near to the school, the forest and the town it was prime location. She sighed, it was desolate though, empty. It had none of the majesty of her forest, and in comparison to where they had lived before… it was a tiny pale shadow.
She glanced at the speakers noting curiously that once again their secretary was in the heart of things, she wondered briefly why not Prof Shox but well… maybe it was for the best Arel took charge of diplomacy. She tuned back in to what was being said as what she was assumed a City Hall represented left, logistics or some such worked out.
As the leader spoke Mandy felt herself entranced, what he said brought all that had happened to bare – laid out plainly. Not only had their home been destroyed and their families slaughtered but their entire way of life was fundamentally wrecked and now but memories.
She took back what she had thought earlier, Mandy did not want to forget what had happened over the past weeks for even a single moment because every memory of the isles, even as they burned, was precious.
She thought of all the Clans people she had passed casually in the corridors that where now no more than Insanity and of the desert, the cliffs, the earthy smell of the rooms and the clanging of forges that all now laid at the bottom of the ocean.
She would carry them on in her heart.
All paths lead to the same end, she still wasn’t sure what that meant but it seemed less a threat and more a promise now. She hoped that end was peace.
For now, she had a ghoulfriend to find.

Zurine was tired..so very tired, the thought of following the horsemen anywhere was hardly an appealing thought and yet...it felt like she should go, they had lost everything and they had come to help them against the Hunters. It only seemed right really to go and see their ceremony and give them some respect and empathy. At least the voices..for now seemed to have been quieted and she could see things more clearly.
Shaking her head slightly she shuffled after the Horsemen as they led them back to the edge of the Weeping forest - Zurine wasn't sure she could ever make this trip again without recalling what had happened this time. The doorway to the dead islands lay somewhere in this forest and how very sad was that? Poor Joker, Zurine thought sadly as she recalled the death of the islands and her stubborn wolf mount who had certainly been killed.
Silently she stood and listened as the speeches were given, they were good speeches full of hope and morale boosting words. Maybe they would help. Maybe they would mean something...Zurine really just wanted to sleep, she was still processing everything that had happened to be honest but she was positive.. absolutely positive that she would never ..ever..forget.
As soon as they were allowed to leave, when it seemed proper that they do so Zurine faded back with the rest of the students, her path taking the vague direction of the monster dorms and though she knew many other students would be headed in that exact same direction - it felt like the road was a long and lonely one.

Roch was barely paying attention to the ceremony. He was glancing around as discreetly as he could, certain that the boogies were watching--and they were. He knew, logically, that they were probably more worried about the horsemen than they were about a half grown punk like him, but he kept hearing little whispers in the back of his mind, telling him something he couldn't quite understand, but his mind was more than willing to fill in for him.
They would grab him sooner or later--and if they didn't, the hunters would come back and blow everyone up--
The moment he could leave, he was gone, disappeared into the weeping forest in a way that only a grim reaper could. He wanted to see his dad. And he wanted to deal with the knowledge that he had hit both Xiu and Danny when he was going insane.

Waking up in the gym was not something Poke was enjoying. She felt ill, and would have just preferred to have slept there for the next two weeks, at least. Instead, the bogeymen turned up to lead Medea to the weeping forest, and the students, along with herself, were requested to come as well.
When entering the forest, the dragon ghoul looked about with little interest. There wasn't much to see here, however this changed when she saw the three others were already here. They were not familiar to her, save the secretary she had seen once or twice.
And then began the ceremony. The words that were spoken during this time seemed to tug at the very core of her being. To watch as the horsemen declared themselves a lost clan...she could hardy fathom such a thing. It also cut her deep to see Cybele, and the other professors, had not made it here. She had barely known them, and now she would never have the chance to discover more about them.
They asked her to remember. How could she not? She would always remember the four clans, to that day she ceased to exist.
After the ceremony, while others began to move away, She still lingered. Now that everything was done and said, it was time for her to go back to her own school. And after all that she had been through, it seemed surreal that she'd be back in a classroom, learning about whatever they would teach her (if she was able to stay awake long enough to listen.)
She sighed, her feet walking down her own path. If there was anything she was going to do, it was to grow stronger. Then perhaps one day, she would be able to do more then watch disaster strike. Maybe, one day, she would be strong enough to prevent it.
Maybe.

Reiko was surprised to feel warmth on her back when she awoke. She expected it was a random student who had simply happened to choose that spot to fall asleep, but she turned and saw Mitzi, and for the first time since the battle under Conquest, a smile that was not glazed with a hint of bloodlust/psychosis crossed her face. For a moment, just a moment, she felt genuinely wanted.
And then the voices came back and reminded her that no she wasn't, that this was not her home and that she had no home. Surely Mitzi had merely chosen a spot at random. It was by coincidence.
But they were being herded out and she didn't trust herself to speak, so she stood and watched the ceremony, feeling her heart plummet. The Four Clans had not been her home, but they had been beautiful, an experience she would never forget. She wished she had seen more of them-had seen the Isle of War, especially. She looked for Mitzi once the ceremony was over, because if the Reaper ghoul didn't want her around, she could at least give the news that she would be leaving soon.

Tess' waking had been fitful at first, seeking the warmth she'd become familiar to over the course of a week. Was it a shameful thing, this familiarity? Or was it only in her mind? Her questions didn't seem that urgent when she was certain of Sheridan's presence, her lips pulling into a small smile as she turned to listen to the Clanswoman speak.
At this point, she didn't know who to trust, didn't know who could be relied on. The Insanity had touched her and her fellow students. She didn't know how long it would last. Or if it would wear off at all. Suppressing a shudder, she leaned closer into Sheridan, or as much as their wings would allow.
"Good to be home?" she murmured beneath her breath, crimson eyes uncertainly looking up at the dragon boil as they made their way back to their dorms.

By the time Mitzi groggily opened her eyes, the onryo was already floating away after the rest of the crowd. The whispers, which had wormed their way into her subconscious to give her uneasy dreams, immediately latched onto the opportunity; after she had forced herself to stay awake, to check on the other ghoul, Reiko had just up and abandoned her? She swallowed, her throat thick, but there wasn't time to feel sorry for herself or she would be left behind. The Reaper ghoul didn't feel that the short ceremony gave any sort of closure. Yes, the Clans now had somewhere to live, a place to call their own, but it was no home. Not yet, and perhaps it never would be, not one to truly replace what they had lost. As the speeches ended and the students were released, Mitzi looked over the crowd, wondering if she should try to find any of her friends - friends? Why would you think they're your friends? the voices seemed to taunt her - before she returned to her room. Then she saw a flash of long black hair and a bloody white kimono, again, and she paused for a moment. Reiko had left her before, she probably didn't want to see her again... but this would be her last chance before the onryo left Amityville. So she hesitantly raised her hand over her head, waving to the other ghoul.

Reiko turned, and...there. Short lavender hair, torn (?) outfit-that-might-once-have-been-a-kimono, it had to be Mitzi. She fought to ignore the whispers that said the ghoul hated her after what had happened. She had to because they had only come after the phoenix, after she had utterly lost her mind and attacked the Reaper boil Roch and herself.
So instead of what she thought she should do, which was stand a bit away and generally be horribly awkward, she did what she wanted to do, which was run over and hug Mitzi.
"I am so glad that you got away from there alright," the onryo said. "I-I'll be leaving, soon, to go home, but...I wanted to say goodbye, at least," she said, stepping back to give Mitzi a bit of space.

After the way the onryo had ditched her upon waking up, a hug was the last thing Mitzi had been expecting. For just a moment, she stared at the younger ghoul in shock, before wrapping her arms around her as well. When Reiko first tried to pull back a little, she didn't let go, just holding her tightly. "I'm glad to see you, too," she replied, not actually ready for the inevitable goodbyes. Finally, with a sigh, she let the other ghoul go, letting her step back and put a little space between them. "You'll be coming back someday, though, right?" she asked, managing a bit of a teasing grin. She didn't even know if Reiko wanted to attend Amityville, but maybe she could at least come for a visit.

Reiko was surprised that Mitzi refused to let her go at first. It helped silence the voices that told her the Reaper never wanted to see her again. They were still there, still clamoring, twisting with Reiko's own paranoia that Mitzi would turn on her one day, but she could ignore them.
"My application remains in," she said. "In spite of all that happened, I...do still wish to attend Amityville someday." She said, looking thoroughly hopeful. "The people here make the choice a bit easier." She admitted, giving Mitzi a smile in return.

Her grin turned into a genuine smile, her own tension easing just a bit to hear it. Maybe someday Reiko would be here as well, and she could see the other ghoul again. "I'll be looking forward to that, then. I'm glad we got to spend the week together, and, well... I'm sorry for everything that happened." It may not have been her fault, but she still felt a pang of guilt that the ghoul had gotten sucked into this whole mess. It wasn't her fight, not yet at least. Although with the Clans gone, it might well be all their fight soon enough...

Still dazed, and more then a little confused, the djinn followed along with her fellow students as they were led down to the fringe of wood along a solemnly familiar forest. She didn't talk, she didn't even bother looking around her for familiar faces. For once she simply followed, and when they came to a stop, and the last remaining leader of the Four Clans spoke, she listened. Foggy as she was on the details, she knew a great tragedy had taken place, and the very least she could do was pay her respects, and give her undivided attention.
Just like the last time she'd stood in this spot the meeting was a somber affair, but unlike before, she hardly thought this speech would end in a rallying cheer. After a few more minutes of talking her guess was confirmed, and she watched the Clan's leader leave, sighing gently under her breath.
There were still questions left unanswered. Riley for one, the ghoul every person within their school looked up to. What was to be done about her, what could be done?
Medea, the priestess, was the last to capture her attention, and glowing eyes lingered on the clanswoman before she two made her leave. All paths lead to the same end. it was a cryptic thing to say, and yet Yaya could feel the truth in those words. Not their exact meaning, but that they would in time ring true, for good or bad. It was strange, but that undeniable logic brought a small, certain level of calm to the ghoul.
At the back of her mind though, as of yet unknown even to her, lurked something darker. Some last remnant from an epic battle she hadn't gotten a chance to participate in, but her very proximity had put her at risk for it. Insanity.

Reiko nodded. "I as well." She glanced over at the few members of the Lost Clans who remained present. "I...am sorry too. But I would not trade this experience for anything. It was good to meet you, Mitzi. I...feel better about attending Amityville, already knowing someone." More than one someone. Mei, and Morrigan, and Alex as well. "You...have my skelephone number, yes?"

Merel was tucked away underneath the unruly curly hair on Joachim him as he followed the rest of the students from the gymnasium to the open clearing. He remained clutching his side ignoring the burns that he could feel from the palms of his hands. The voices were gone, or at least for the moment not that they seemed any different from his nightmares that followed him in the night. They were just alive during the day, or more so they now moved to a somewhat now permanent state.
But that he could deal with for the time being.
The creases of the frown that lingered on his lips felt as if they were more permanent than they had ever been before. The haunting memories of the Four Clans were not going to be easily forgotten the thought of an entire island merely gone within a few hours was not something that you could simply brush aside and tuck away into a box with sheets of old music. Joachim was unsure of what to do, saying sorry or even giving an apologetic expression seemed to not be enough.
However, he was tired, dirty and in more pain than what he wanted to be in, now that they had become the lost clan he was sure to see some of the students lingering in the halls and feel that uncomfortable notion of sorrow and he would wait to deal with it then.
"Let's go Merel.... I am sure the others are waiting..." He whispered as he headed back to the reaper dorms.
