HP: 888/1400 The scream seemed to be a call for backup, as the baby leeches joined the fray yet again, the larger beast staying on the ground with them this time. They came from every which angle, obviously relatively experienced in taking down larger prey, but swarm tactics and strength in numbers didn't work quite as well when your opponents were many-numbered too. The dodge rolls go like this:
If you rolled a 1, a couple of baby leeches do what leeches do best, and grab on, sucking your blood. By the time you manage to pry them off, they've already gotten a moderate amount of blood out of you. When they try to retreat, they're actually snapped up and eaten by the big guy. You lose two HP, and he recovers one!
If you rolled a 2, they attach themselves to you and cling tight, but it isn't with the intention of biting. Instead, they start glowing like the bigger one has been, and let out a large electric burst before losing consciousness and falling off. Take three damage.
If you rolled a 3, as much as you try to bat them away, there are just too many coming for you, and their sharp teeth catch you more than once. Take two damage.
If you rolled a 4, the leechbabies barely get their fangs in you before you're ripping them off. You take one damage, but next round, add one onto your guard roll from all the benefits that leech-spit provides!
If you rolled a 5, you get into a groove, smacking the leeches away almost rhythmically, and remain untouched right up until they give up and move onto a different target.
If you rolled a 6, a glowing, sparking leech jumps at you, but before it can release the shockwaves that the poor victims of 2 will face, you cleanly smack it into unconsciousness, receiving a minor shock that really just seems to energize you. Regain one HP, and add one to your damage roll this turn.

Well this was anything but pleasant. Minist found herself as part of an all-you-can-eat buffet and had trouble ripping the monsters off of her. Her head started swimming from the bloodloss. However she was able to focus on the maw of the parent of these beasts as it chomped down on its own children, seeming to relish in the taste of her blood. Fine, she'd give it more of a taste of her, BY SMASHING ITS STUPID TEETH IN!
Minist did 12 damage.

Cheese HP: 25/40 +1 drone ATK bonus inv: +5 Medikitskills: medic 1, combat 1, tactics 1 -1 dodge from last turn Cheese flailed at the baby leeches with her saber, but she wasn't quite so successful at keeping them off of her as she had been the last wave. But somehow in her flailing she managed to stab the leechdrake right in its big ugly mouth. Huh. Cheese did 10 damage.

"Yaaaooooow!" Talymn yelled, not in pain, but in excited surprise. The shock of that last maggot ran down his spine with a strange tingling chill that it almost felt like he was riding the last highs of an encore performance. Actually, he could've sworn that he even felt better. Whatever the reason behind it, the rocker troll was practically giddy from the sensation as he bounced back into the fight, stomping on anything that dared slither his way before setting his sights back on the monstrosity.
