Maritess refrained from snorting, but barely, "Trust me, it's best you don't meet Legs. She can be quite... forward at best." Quickly after that, she gestured to the leash attached to the severed hands. "These are minipets. Quite handy on normal occasions, but mostly a handful and a pain in the neck at times." She smiled wryly. "How fortunate that you two can get along splendidly, you both sound so reasonable. How long have you two been bonded?"

Was she dodging the boil's question? Perhaps. Tess didn't have a very good opinion of the school nor of the faculty and was starting to wonder if she should ask her parents to pull her out.

"My Nanny was actually a severed hand. She's how I learned to understand and use Morse code," Tess smiled, grateful the boil wasn't one to press on sensitive topics. Speaking of sensitive topics, Tess knew etiquette dictated she answer this one. "Oh no, it's quite alright. Most students don't even ask if I mind explaining that my kind start off whole. They just sort of blurt it out. We sever at a certain age and it's, ah, a rather silly situation I and my other half find ourselves in," she laughed with a dismissive wave of her hand.

"Do you find this soiree normal as far as Scarentines celebrations go?" Her wings continued to silently beat to keep her aloft and hovering over her seat.

"You know Morse code? That's pretty impressive," He nodded with a laugh, "Not a second language most people would pick up."

He listened to her explanation, and things made a little more sense after that, "That's pretty fascinating, actually... Before meeting you, I've never heard of a species capable of severing and adopting different personalities. I hope that you can reach a compromise with your other half soon." After all, if he didn't get along with Biskoto, he imagined his life to be a lot more complicated.

"I had never been to a Scarentines party before, so I'm afraid I can't answer your question... However, the most important thing is that I'm enjoying myself thus far," He chuckled softly, shaking his head before grinning, "And yourself? Is this your first Scarentines' party?"

"Lattice is my sister, yes." She clarified with a giggle, watching him stand up on the table. Oh, this boil was cute! She couldn't see him very well, but his energy? Adorable. "We are very close! We do everything together." Needle sighed happily, pressing an ink stained hand to her pale cheek. She absolutely loved her sister and certainly did do as many things as possible with her.

"Do you have siblings, TG?"

"Mm-hm" Needle nodded, again confirming that they did everything - or at least almost everything - together. If she had any idea what was going on in the little imp's big head, she might have had some comments; like, say, some of them weren't too far from what they already did. However that was likely left for another time!

"Must have been lonely growing up, and for that I apologize." The ghoul looked as sympathetic as she could with her eyes hidden. Her clan was very tight knit, but there was nothing like being raised with a twin or closer sibling; she was fortunate to have both.

"Lattice? She is here somewhere, yes." The ghoul lied easily. Her sister's paranoia hurt her deeply, and for her safety she'd rather lie than announce to a group of strangers that she was alone in the ghost dorms. "She chose the maul that day, I watched the school play with Petro...and I have yet to meet Freya in person." It was sad, really! She did so want to meet the ghoul.

"Your coat is very soft...what it is made from?" She had wanted to ask this since she pat his arm earier; soooo soooofttt...

"No, but it is proper to express sympathies, is it not?" The ghoul sounded baffled; nobody had ever told her that before! She thought it was just a part of common courtesy! Perhaps she was wrong? "Interesting..." The engraver mused thoughtfully.

"I would love to! If you do not mind, of course." The ghoul held out her ink stained hand, taking a moment to pat around carefully until she found the softness of his jacket. There she began to pet his jacket softly in longish strokes, all while trying to not catch her needles on anything; and there were a lot of things to catch on! She couldn't help the happy little noise that rumbled in her throat as she pet away, wanting to just...pick him up and bearhug him for being soft.

Luckily, she refrained.

"What do you do for fun, TG?"

Rwanda was not something that Shine was familiar with in the slightest, but he seemed to know his stuff. And why wouldn't he? He was talking about himself, and if you knew about anything, it should be things about herself. She nodded along, pretending that it all made sense anyway.

"Sleeping is..." She wasn't really sure how to describe it. "Funny. Your brain, um...runs away. Not...actually, but...the things you think." And when her conscious thoughts grew as dark as they did sometimes, it was a bit uncomfortable to let her mind run wild. Wild Thoughts of Rain were nice, though. Kind of like reading a happy story all about her.

Following his question was another very long stare. Though it looked like Shine might be offended by the talk of her underwear, she was actually trapped in thought, trying her hardest to remember. What color were they? She shifted in her chair again, moving off of her legs so she could stretch them towards the floor, already tugging up at her shirt as she stood. Without another word, she was shimmying out of her shorts, looking down with the same dull look of concentration.

"Oh...red." Right. For Scarentine's. How had she not remembered that? She plopped back into her chair with an air of excitement. He'd asked about her underwear, so that meant it was her turn to ask something! That's how the game worked, wasn't it? "Do...you have...a minipet? A favorite one...?"
