"I am just sure that a prince could not marry someone like me, no matter how much they wanted to or not." She replied, her flapping ceasing almost immediately. "Besides, you player you, how am I supposed to know that isn't a come on? You're full of those."
The petite maiden crossed her arms over her chest and eyed Nathaniel closely. He was a playful sort, she knew that already, but her heart was racing from his words all of the same. Maybe he had been serious. Maybe he was interested in her beyond a hurried night of passion.

Nathaniel arched an eyebrow. "I'll elope if I have to." He said simply. He looked down into the water and said, "I'd rather not just marry another princess who falls to my feet. I want to fall in love. Not another one nighter either. Except, those won't really stop until I do fall in love.." He looked up at her again and felt his throat dry up. Until I do fall in love, but what if I have.
He shook his head slightly. He couldn't be in love. It wasn't like him to fall for someone so easily. He merely gulped and said with a smirk, "You still haven't answered my question. Are you rejecting me before I propose to you?"

She bit down on her lip. "Well, not precisely. I want to marry for love, too, no matter who it is that asks me. I need to care for them deeply. In that regard rank matters not though I am probably foolish for thinking that. I am not turning you down; I just don't know if I'll love you by the time you propose to me."
What a roundabout answer! A lump formed in her throat that could, no matter how hard she tried, not be swallowed back down. Her eyes closed and she paddled along in the water a little while.
"Besides you wouldn't want to marry me. I am a nobody. I don't even have a mother or a father to call my own anymore."

He watched her as she swam, and stiffened slightly at what she said. He immediately swam towards her and pulled her up to look at her in the eye. "You're not a nobody. Don't ever think such a thing." He sighed and said, "You can call me your own.. of c-course, if you want to." His cheeks flushed a light pink from what he had just said. It was so sudden.
He swam forward a bit then turned back to look at her and smirked. "And who says I don't want to marry you?" He winked at her and continued swimming forward.

She was shocked when he suddenly took her in his arms to force her to look at him. His expression was so fierce and protective. Another moment there like that and she may have went in for a kiss on the cheek. Passionate men had always attracted her and Nathaniel was full of passion.
"It would be rather sudden, don't you think? I mean you just came back from boarding school and we're getting to know each other again."

He chuckled. "Of course it'd be sudden. But it's not like I'm not up for risks." He smirked then dove under water again, rising when he was on the other side of the swimming pool. He did the same thing, yet came back, right beside Andromeda. He grinned and said, "We should move on to lessons."

This all was so baffling. His jokes were pretty serious in nature, weren't they? She watched him swim, heart in her throat the entire time. Not even the water could cool her down any. She submerged herself completely in an attempt to pull herself together. Andromeda came back and the Prince was there, about giving her another heart attack.
"Okay," she said. "S-so how does one get taught how to swim properly?"

"Lie on your stomach first." He instructed, placing a gentle hand on her stomach. He waited for her to obey his instructions as he swallowed again, wetting his now dry throat.

Andromeda was nervous at first but did as she was told. She laid on her stomach across the surface of the water, keeping her mouth above the liquid of the pool. She wondered what he could be teaching her from that position. Perhaps to move her arms correctly or her legs? She pondered this as she waited for his next instruction to her.

He then instructed her. "Kick your legs. Not too much though. Just from your knees down." He held her back as well, for she wouldn't get too far without using her arms anyways.

She did as she was instructed and kicked her legs. With his hand on her back she was fixed to the spot. Not that it really mattered anyway. Her kicks were sloppy and undirected, each smacking against the water and sending some upward. She huffed loudly as some time passed. Swimming was exhausting and she had just spent her entire day before pulling up ripe vegetables

He chuckled. "You don't have to kick that viciously. Light kicks are fine. He let go of her, assuming she knew how to float and showed her how to move her arms forward. "It's like a pinwheel. One arm goes back while the other dives forward." He demonstrated for her. "Then you combine that with your leg kicking."

The young woman floundered a little whenever he let the pressure of his hand off of her back. She recovered quickly enough, breathing heavily from the exertion. Like he said, she moved her arms like a pinwheel, but she moved sloppily through the water. They were tired from the work she had done but the water managed to soothe the ache some. Still, whenever she did the physical like this, she felt it more.

He chuckled. He couldn't see her like this. It was funny, but he could tell she was tired. Wrapping an arm around her waist he pulled her up, and held her in his arms. He grinned down at her. "You're too tired to do this. Just give it a rest, I'll teach you another day."

There was a huff of resigned determination from Andromeda as he told her to quit. Once she started something she did not like to drop it. Doing so was admitting that she couldn't do it and she did not like it when she could not grasp something. Still, he was right. Going through the garden as quickly as she did left her tired; more tired than if she had been allowed to pace herself through the whole thing.
Finally she let her back rest against his chest. "For now I can forget about this. Only for now. I do intend to be swimming like a pro before the next moon cycle ends."
