Well, Vaida had some cruel words to share with the emotional Innes...but she was quite right. Legault was also finding it hard to believe that Vaida would slaughter her own wyvern (if she indeed was the killer). No, he didn't think she was the one behind all the murders, even if she had executed Enailios so easily the other day. He could only assume Vaida had been rightfully upset about the death of her mount and taken it out on the blacksmith (innocent or not).

Iris, on the other hand, was a bit more suspicious. She had indeed been quiet except to condemn Enailios...and she did talk to herself a lot. People like Ninian, Sue, Bozo...they didn't quite seem the type to carry these murders out.

"Now...I don't believe Vaida was behind these murders, Innes...though I do think this Iris person has already shown us enough to merit some suspicion.

Y-You've seen some of these deaths! P-People getting crushed and slashed up and J-Jaren even-- i-in the bathroom! Iris would... n-not only would sh-she never kill someone, i-it'd never be anything like this!" It was true, really; Blossom hadn't known Iris for long, but she at least knew that Iris very highly prided her appearance, both in her body and in her clothing. For her to perform such murders that would involve an abundance of blood, contact with horse and wyvern manure in the stables, surrounded by birds and presumably both pooped and bled on by dozens upon dozens of pigeons, and to kill someone while they were taking a dump on the toilet, and thus be that close to both Jaren's junk and worse, his poop... "I-It's too dirty. They're all t-too dirty. Iris wouldn't get th-that close to anyone to have done a-any of these murders. And none h-had any sign of magic being th-the cause of death. There'd be signs..."

Blossom sniffed and rubbed at her face again. "I-I don't think Iris did it. She couldn't have done it." She looked to Vaida, staring at her for a few long moments, and then down at her feet. "R-Really, it... ...I-I'd be... more l-likely to... u-um."

She paused. She looked back at Vaida, then scooted away and closer to the butler. "...Y-Yeah..."

Why you...Suddenly his face went back to it's pallid demeaner. Pass. I am convinced that you are not the murderer Vaida. The fact is that you were a little to under the radar for me to let you continue this. By leading it you drew no attention to your self. By the killing of your beast you were assured no blame because how could you do it? It seemed a little to convenient for me to believe. However the fact that you have not drawn any suspicion even after your bloodthirsty demeanor shows me without a doubt that you can be crossed off of my list of three. He was back to his cocky self. At once anyone who had met the archer knew that he had just been acting. A King does not cry even at the death of a friend. He was sad at her loss but he was more worried about keeping the rest out of the afterlife. He simply had to find a way to get Vaida to reveal what he wanted of her. All to easy for those who are simple in heart. To honest for their own good.

He paced around wondering who he should find out about first. He only had two suspects left. He was sure it was one of those two. It would take tact to not let the two know he was on to them. If they found out and he was right he would be taking a dirt nap. If we simply chose the most suspicious character when we have no proof then we are headed down a wrong path. I do not believe it is the girl. I can assume that someone who has not been accused is in fact the accused. They set the drunkard up. It was clever enough to keep us fooled for a while. The murderer must be one of the ones with us watching what we say and what we think. Then they play along with those thoughts and act as we think the suspect would act. We must think of those of us who have been playing with the crowd and following the favored outcome. He walked around as he spoke. Making a great deal to draw attention to himself. He looked at each individual and their stance and posture and size. It could be the most likely of the two or the one that seemed again almost too innocent. Legault defend yourself. You seem to be participating enough to not warrant suspicion but you have also not come up with many strong theories as to who could have done the murder. Particularly with how you accused someone just for talking to oneself and for accusing someone. So prove to the crowd why it isn't you? In fact why doesn't everyone just tell us all why you are not the guilty one. It should help clear up any matters of doubt that some of us may have. You as well Blossom. Even the sweetest girl can have a murderous heart. For now though Legault I hold you in question.

[Not Vaida; Yes Legault;]
[Also don't worry there is a method to my madness. It's all about how people reason. That's what the point of the game is. I'm just following a path to what I think will find the killer. Don't be personally offended by anything I say. It is just a game.]

Legault paused as he was considered a suspect for the first time. Honestly, it surprised him that it had taken this long for he, the assassin, to be questioned. Still, he had to clear up the misunderstanding before what happened to the other accused happened to him. "If you recall, I only suggested we look into the suspects at some points...not to have them executed. And I've only gone with my gut instincts so far, not having had actual evidence to go on just like the rest of us," Legault paused, then adding another note."Also, I hardly think Blossom is a viable suspect in this. I agreed with Vaida only because Iris's demeanor could be consistent with a mass murderer, but you seemed to mention her just because she seemed quite unlikely to fill the role of a killer. I'm not sure I follow your logic in that regard."

Iris Rystda

Iris froze.
User Image

"Kekeke, she's calling you out... Whatcha gonna do?"

Iris hesitated for a moment before murmuring a response. "... I shall counter her. Nobody defames the sacred Rystdan name!" She took a deep breath, then slowly turned to face Vaida.
User Image

"How funny it is that you should accuse me, of all the people here! As Blossom cited, you should know, as it is your position to know, that I have an intense dislike of all things unclean and disgusting. FURTHERMORE--"

Adele, on the other hand, was freaking out. "Uhhhhhh, Iris, do you know who that is? That's Vaida. THAT'S VAIDA AND SHE WILL KILL YOU FOR SPEAKING. don't do it, iris, DON'T DO IT"

"I will have you know that, as you put it, I've been 'playing it cool in the background' because it is not proper for a lady of my status to speak loudly and with such careless abandon for her own words. If I feel it is necessary to say something, I SHALL SAY IT."

"must be necessary to say a lot of things, then. =_="

"Furthermore! A magician of my talent must hone her abilities at all times, lest they grow stale. You carry a weapon with you at all times, do you not? My voice is a weapon, and it must be ready at any point I need to summon a spell. I speak to myself to keep my voice limber."

"...that is horseshit."

"But you, Captain Vaida of the Eyris Guard, have been quite vocal during your stay here. Also, it is no secret to any of us your sadistic and murderous tendencies. I personally believe you are spreading discontent to distract us from the true assassin. I am not currently accusing you, but I am entertaining an idea."

"There are multiple killers."

"And if my theory is correct, they would want to spread as much discontent within our group as possible in order to obfuscate their actions."

Iris, quite pleased with herself, settled back to witness Vaida's response.

[Do not make comments about how killing Enailios was wrong or shocking. This is how the game is played, you should know this full well, and comments like that are nothing but annoying and have no place in here; especially if you voted yes on him being guilty. This is for future reference. I meant to include this note in my last post, because I had a feeling somebody would do it.]

I'm not going to repeat myself again. This applies to any person found guilty. I've noticed several comments in posts about how it was wrong. This is how the game is played, and the RP aspect is just making up irrelevant things for the game.

WHY ALL THE SPLATS! Bozo thought. So much yelling and stuff! Bozo did not like this!

The latest accusations left Bozo weary. Bozo shook her head firmly at the first two choices. While both of them were probable, it felt too obvious to be either. It made much more sense for it to be Purply Thief, because he had been inconspicious the entire time. Purply Thief didn't try to make much of a scene, so it was the perfect cover, at least to Bozo.

Legault sighed, thoroughly disturbed that even the puffball was accusing him. "Anyone else?" he beckoned, throwing out his arms at the assembled and ever-dwindling crowd and wondering if his fate had already been decided.

Well, this certainly had been a dreadful vacation.

She could feel it already...Her sanity was already starting to slip. The poor girl wasn't made for this. Already she had witness the aftermath of several murders...With a killer still out there. Already they had made incorrect judgements, and with them came the death of another. But that was how it was...That was justified...But the strain of deciding correctly was something she wish to not be burdened with.

The killer, however, had other plans.

So it was Jaren that was to taken next? The poor boy...Rin had just adjusted to his rather unique personality. Really, they might have been a strange sort of friends. The worse, however, was his method of departure! Had this killer no sense of dignity? That tore it. She had to fight back through the tears. Mourning to come later, there was a killer to find.

"....I do no take either Mr. Legault nor Miss Iris to be our killer. If it were to be either, a certain style would match. As was pointed out, Miss Iris is not the type to dirty herself in the situations that would make each of our murders possible. She certainly would not degrade herself to strike down Mr...Sir Jaren in the state that he was. Likewise, our Mr. Legault is a professional assassin. His style of murder would have some finesse to them. Not this sloppy...horrendous example. Clean, quick, and effective. Certainly not laid out for others to find."

Push enough, and even the most innocent would snap. Sleep had been robbed from her, sanity, security, companions, and friendships. This killer had stepped too far, had pushed the laboring beast until the last straw broke its back. Her mannerisms were wild, her tone of voice snappish and brief. There was hell to be paid.

"However...I do find that our murders seem to find their way to Miss Vaida here. She, on top of the rest, has been the most vocal in this witch-hunt. There also seem to be a chain of involvement with the earlier murders. She could be tied into them after a few moments of thought. NOW, tell me why is it that the moment we pointed this out during the accusations against Dietrich...The murders began to drift away?"

It was the accusations of someone who had begun to draw at straws, and she knew it. But really, she didn't care. She wanted to get to the bottom of this, and any point, no matter how small, could lead them to the truth at this point. It could stop another death...It could bring justice.

At least, that was the workings of a mind that had snapped.

The butler nodded. "I see. It seems that the general consensus is that neither of the three people accused is guilty. You are all spared."

He turned to the rest of the group, but before he could say anything, a servant stepped into the room and whispered something in his ear. The butler nodded to the maid and then proceeded to speak to the group. "It appears the master wishes to see me immediately. Please move the body to the others and take caution in the rest of your day." After bowing, he departed from the room.

For the rest of the day, half the guests were solemn and the other half were fostering anger because of the accusations and words spoken earlier. However, as a pleasant surprise, dinner came without anyone dying. Everyone made it to the table, and began eating, with still no death. The butler came into the room, and bowed. "It is pleasant that none of you are missing this evening. The master has expressed to me great... concern. He greatly wishes there to be no screams in the morning... In any case, is there anything I can-"

The butler was interrupted as Vaida suddenly began to cough and gag. She leaped up from the table, knocking several people from their chairs. She strained for breath and tried to say something, but was unsuccessful and fell to the ground, motionless. Startled, the butler hurried over to her and checked her pulse. "...She's dead." The butler stood, confused, and then went over to where she was sitting. He looked down at her meal. "...Everybody stop eating. Now."

After a while of intense worry, nobody else succumbed to the same fate. The chef could be heard shouting horrifyingly in the kitchen as the butler questioned him. As the butler emerged, the group gathered around the dead body of Vaida. He turned to the group. "After inspection, it seems that only her meal was poisoned. The rest of you are safe... figuratively speaking. The chef claims to know nothing and is greatly distressed. Any thoughts?"

Well this most certainly was a situation in a pinch. Ephraim was completely out of ideas on who the killer could possibly be.

He thought for a moment, trying to piece everything together up to now. Something wasn't adding up..every one of their deaths were different, it wasn't the same and its pointing to someone in this room intentionally...Crushed, hanged, slaughtered, impaled, suffocating, poison...

Ephraim tapped his forehead for a moment. "I would like to think the accusation I'm about to make is wrong...However..." he paused, looking up once more. "...Blossom...You've been emotionally unstable since we all first stepped foot into this manor. Whose to say you aren't going around in your sleep or half-conscious murdering people..?" It was a painful answer even for the lancer to say. Despite her looking so innocent and unable to do anything...but they do say 'never judge a book by its cover'. "Your speech pattern has been non-stop stuttering since day 1...whose to say you aren't hiding your murder guilt behind that innocent face of yours?"

((*scratches head* Accusing Blossom ))

It's the end of the world as we know it.

The tension in the room was stifling as they waited to ensure that they would not meet the same grisly fate as Vaida. It seemed... well, Blossom didn't know what to make of it. If Vaida had been the killer, then... she wouldn't be dead right now. Meaning that someone else in the room was the killer. Which meant... which meant Vaida had to be innocent.

Unless there were two killers.

Could there be?

It's the end of the world as we know it.

Her fork dropped and hit the table as Ephraim's voice, pained as it is, rang out in her name. Emotionally unstable. Murdering in your sleep. Stuttering and stammering. Hiding your guilt behind your innocence.

Blue-grey eyes stared at her plate, half-eaten food getting cold all around them. Finally, slowly, Blossom stood from her place at the table, hands shaking. "Why... why would I ever do any of this?" She looked back to Ephraim, face set hard. "I'm... okay, fine, I'm not all right right now. I haven't been. In case you couldn't tell, it's a little hard to... to act like nothing's happen after your husband commits suicide. But I would like to think that even if I was doing this, there'd be some kind of clue? Blood on my clothes, mud on my boots, cuts or scrapes from fighting against a fully-grown wyvern, something!" She paused for a moment, pursing her lips as she gathered herself. Don't start yelling. It'll only make things worse.

It's the end of the world as we know it.

"Even if I was upset, I'd have no reason to kill anyone! Certainly not any of you, my friends, my colleagues, people I've known now for years! Whoever's been committing these crimes has some sort of deep-set grudge, or something happened, but it wasn't me!" She paused, biting her lip, and held herself still, smoothing her hands once over her scarf in order to keep from balling them into fists. "It... It wasn't me...! Please, you've... you've got to believe me...!"

And I feel fine...

Yea, didn't think that was convincing, but at least now he knew why she was emotionally unstable. His accusation came without knowing the full truth. Ephraim dropped his arms to his side. "Very well. You have my sincerest apologies for accusing you out of the blue."

Well, in all honesty then Ephraim had no other suspect that he could think of for the time being.
