So, how is this idea compared to my other attempts at vampire roleplays?
I like it! [Thank you very much; I'm happy to hear that~]
Meh. Mediocre, as always. [To each their own.]
This idea is bad and you should feel bad! [I choose to feel jubilated instead.]

Marie waited patiently for Mahlah to finish counting the links of her necklace. She wasn't particualy worried about it being stolen or anything like that. They were after all in an office, with Anya and Neil there, and only one door out. That and Marie didn't have any particular sentimental value to the necklace. She wore it simply because it looked pretty.
Several minutes later, Marie saw Mahlah get up from the corner, and came back over to her returning the necklace. Marie fastened it saftly around her neck again. "Thank you." She said to the interesting being. Marie looked to Anya and Neil again then. "Well thank you for everything. I'll see you tomorrow night then. Bye."

With that, Marie finally left the office, closing the door behind her as she went. Once out, she was instantly greeted by the music drumming through the club. Marie made a beeline through the crowd to find where she had left her friends earlier, finding them easily in a matter of moments. She would tell them later what happened of course, but for now she just wanted to loose herself in the music again for the little time they had left before closing.

"What are you doing here?" Neil asked Mahlah, angrily. He had never liked the dhamphir, and wasn't going to start anytime soon.

Only the insane have strength to prosper...

Mahlah

Mahlah watched Marie leave the room with a slightly tilted head, much like how a dog would look on when it heard a high pitched sound. She was certainly a... strange creature. Strange but interesting. It wanted to understand her a little more, it was curious as to why she was so nice to it when the others were less so? She took off her chain so it could count it, quelling anxiety of having someone new around. She actually spoke softly to it when she did so. How foreign these things were to it for the most part. It was a nice change of pace from the usual.

Speaking of which...

Mahlah's face twitched slightly at the discust and rage that came from the lips of Neil. It certainly didn't care much for the man, a mutual feeling that Mahlah hide despite the curtesy not being returned. Neil was just another one of the highbreeds who though he was better than Mahlah because he was actually childed by an origin. It wasn't Mahlah's fault that he was born of human mother and vampiric father. In fact, it had held a trail for its mother for the crime of having it without its conscent. It had bricked her up in a wall as punishment, but it did nothing to quell the spite it felt at the hands of the others. When the day came that the Dhampir rose up agianst their oppressors, it would be a dark day indeed for all the highbreeds, what they lacked in strength and speed they made up for in numbers, and they could be in the sunlight, something that the others couldn't do for long. If push came to shove, the Highbreeds may very well be in some trouble. But that wasn't here or now. Mahlah gave a half glare over to the Consort.
"I came here for dog food and water. I feed again last night and I intend to pay the animal back for such an offering... let us not also forget, that I live with Aunty Anya, so I go home with her when she is ready to."
Mahlah tried to hide the venom in its undertone, and did a good job of it... this time. Mahlah looked over at Anya. "May I get the dog food and a large jug of water, Aunty Anya?"

"You most certainly may." Anya offered the dhampir a small smile, not seeing any reason to be outright rude to the creature unless it warranted it. Such a sweet expression soon contorted itself into a childish pout as she changed the subject. "Before you go, though, might I ask that you two try to get along more? I'm not even asking you both to like each other. Just be civil and glare at each other less in my presence. We're literally the only three Casavirans left, ever since the great massacre and all. I'd hate to lose any more." Honestly, infighting was the last thing they needed right now. Even if Anya was having her fun, she still had the clan's best interests at heart, no matter if there were thousands of vampires under her thumb or simply two. She then sat herself back down in her swirly-chair and spun to where her back was facing the two. "I wonder if I should make a few more consorts..." she muttured softly to herself, pondering whether or not she'd need any more close servants and possible assistant baby-makers or if just keeping Neil around would suffice.

Only the insane have strength to prosper...

Mahlah

A slight sparkle came into the Dhampirs eyes as it walked over to the place where the bag of dog food was left and also started to fill up a large pail. Its expression changed though to something more akin to a pout of its own as it squated down and watched the bucket slowly hold the water. It was times like this it wished that the tap gave more water fast.
"..yes Aunty Anya..." Mahlah replied somewhat dryly. It did try to be pleasent to Neil, though it got harder and harder to do as time went on. When the topic further changed to getting more Consorts Mahlah's right cheek puffed out and he made a sound something akin to air coming out of a slightly pinched balloon for a moment. Great, just what it didn't need at the moment, more bullies and asshats like Neil to constantly remind him of his bottom of the food-chain status in the clan. "Why not just go and wipe out the other clans in the area? That way we wouldn't have to do something like bring more Consorts into the clan? More Consorts means more Host right? And we have a distinct lack of them." Dhampir moaned a little as it wished its water would hurry up and fill. It hated these kinds of discussions.
Topic change!
"Aunty Anya... that human that was here... can I keep her? She speaks nice to me and I like her... I promise I'll feed and water her like the dogs I feed on."
It was a hopeful shot in the dark. It could go and collect her tonight if it was allowed, it knew that she was returning tomorrow for some reason. So it could snatch her up then too.

((I'm not sure how big the room is, so I'm not sure if Mahlah would have been close enough to hear Anya, if you want me to edit let me know and I'll remove the response and the indication that Mahlah heard the comment. >< ))

"I wasn't just saying that to you, Mahlah. You both need to tolerate each other, at least until I'm either dead or don't care anymore. Which will be long after the next Origin's time, either way." Anya shrugged, almost seeming not to take things too too seriously by the tone of her voice and her body language. However, appearances often decieve, after all. "Just one flavor in life is boring. Why should Casavirans be the only clan around, when we can simply keep a few crappy ones under my thumb and rub how awesome we are in their faces? Well, until they start stepping out of line and get to the point of annoying me, of course." Anya chuckled, spinning herself around to face the two males once more. "More consorts mean a larger income for dealing with those pesky normal humans as well as luring in some potentially tasty treats from time to time. Also means we could make some 'brothers' and 'sisters' for you, if I want." Anya was by no means opposed to having more dhampirs born into the clan, so long as they proved either entertaining or useful. "Aaaas for miss Marie," The Origin grinned from ear to ear, rather happy that Mahlah had brought her up. "I was thinking about bringing her into the Clan myself. Well, to be specific, making Neil do it for me. Still, if you like her already, that makes things easier. I hope you two will continue to get along after she accepts the offer." Anya, of course, did not intend on taking 'no' for an answer from the human woman. Especially since at least one other Casaviran had taken a liking to her as well. "Unless either of you have any objections...?"

Only the insane have strength to prosper...

Mahlah

The thought of Neil touching Marie made Mahlah bristle and its flesh crawl uncomfortably. Mahlah placed its hands on the table and looked into Anya's eyes. "Let me Host her, Aunty Anya." It more demanded than requested, it obviously thought highly of this woman... and was obviously never told that only Consorts could Host others. It was more than likely information that was given out on a need to know basis and as a Dhampir... it didn't needed to know. "Just tell me how and I'll do it."
It was a sad fact that Dhampir couldn't host. Still, perhaps the jesture would be looked on with some level of either amusement or pity from Anya, It clearly wanted to be of some use, the clan was one where ambitions were strong, so perhaps it was a trait passed into the blood of the vampire... or maybe it was the thought of bringing more Consorts in that modivated Mahlah to step more up to the plate and prove that anything that they could do, it could do better... at least in its distorted mind... or was it wishful thinking? Back tracking a little in the coversation to the point of having other vampire clans under her thumb, Mahlah got a confuzzled look on its face. "But... wouldn't that be dangerous? If the other clans united, it could topple our clan by weight in numbers and then we would be the ones under the thumbs... best to remove a viper before it strikes, yes?"
Maybe Mahlah wasn't the deepest thinker, or maybe he wasn't seeing something in a much larger picture, but in his mind, a dose of paranoia was a healthy thing. Brothers and sisters huh? It wasn't sure what to think of that, actually. it supposed that more of it would make it feel less lonely and there was strength in numbers... but it wasn't so sure about sharing its things. Mahlah decided to keep quiet on that little bit of the subject.

Neil glared at Mahlah when it offered to make Marie a host. He was planning on doing it himself, and the dhamphir hardly knew the girl, let alone how to make a host.
"Look, child. I don't like you, and you clearly dislike me. But if you even so much as suggest that you should take a higher ranking vampire's food again, I will burn you at the stake and spread your ashes to the four winds! Is. That. Clear?"

((Oooooh!! Look a new person!!! Anime can we keep him?! ^.^

Also...if we're in need of more consorts I could make a male human. I've actually been waiting to make a consort for one of the other origins (if they wanted one)...but since neither of them have been posting I might just make a human and see what happens. cat_4laugh ))

((As for Marie...having some mental block write now. >.< Midterms kill your brain.))

{Checkmate Devil - Thank you very much; I'm very pleased to hear that you like my writing. ^.^ Yes, we certainly do. If you do join, I look forward to seeing what kind of profile you send in. biggrin
Green - Of course we can. We're a free boarding-house with impossible expenses. E'rreybody's welcome here~! emotion_awesome Also, moar consorts would be loved. As for making a human, humans are also loved. :3}

Anya facepalmed, dissappointed that they were fighting again so soon. Still, she owed Mahlah an answer, as she would any other. Nobody said it had to be useful, though. "Look, sweetheart, siring a Host is...too much for your blood to handle. Consorts have sturdier bodies and a closer relation to an Origin, meaning stronger positive effects and more of an addictive quality to it. I appreciate your ambition, though. I like it~" The origin grinned from ear to ear, bursting upwards from her chair and giving a one-armed hug to both of the men at the same time. "Although I do agree with Neil on respecting your betters, I really like that cockiness. Just...use it wisely and with people who can't kill you on the spot."

Only the insane have strength to prosper...

Mahlah

A deep throated growl was interupted by Anya, stopping something disasterous before it started. Arrogent Highbreeds, It was starting to hate them very much. Anya's words defused the situation though, and it turned its attention towards the young looking Origin before dropping its gaze and looking more than a little disappointed that it wasn't going to be the one who sired Marie. It's gaze turned over its shoulder. It was times like this, that it hated being a halfbreed and wished that it was found an sired by an origin to become a consort. It wanted to be strong to, it wanted to take what it wanted, when it wanted it instead of having to settle for table scraps. A dark look drifted over to Neil, well... who said it had to kill him to make a point? It could take everything away that he held precious...
Feh, yeah, and while it was at it, it could jump to the moon and punch out what humans refered to as god. Dejected and bitter about the situation Mahlah gently pulled away from the Origin and turned back to the water and food for the stray dogs that it fed on.
"I'm going to feed my dogs now..." It said with quiet heaviness. It hoisted the dog food on its shoulder with surprising ease considering that it looked as though a strong gust of wind could blow it over. Taking up the water and numerous metal dog-bowls it began its fairly long journey to the place where it had claimed its feeding grounds... not that it was much to look at. Still, it was one of the few things that Mahlah could actually claim as its own anymore.

When Mahlah exited into the nightclub again the dull throbbing of the bass blasted its ears and it had to wince somewhat. It much perfered the quieter places than the noise of these new aged clubs. Maybe it was old fashioned with its music still, but most of this generations music just gave it a headache. It remembered when radio's first came out and how excited it was to hear things from all over the world. TImes had changed quickly. In its life time, it had watched people go from horses and buggies to putting a man on the moon with a space rocket. It was almost like humans did these things by instinct. It was lost in though by the time that it reached the outside. It was still fuming over the encounter with Neil, so it counted it's steps by fours, also locating patterns that it had memorized from its numerous walks there and back.
