STAGE 2 ATTEMPT 1

Here we go again, round two, crap round, worst round ever. She stood at the top staring in discontent. How did she always ruin herself on the same stage, the same spot? Surely she can make it; Shehk did it, tons of other students did it. She lived for this stuff! She would do this! Shehk and Junko cheered for her in skirts! How could she NOT find the will to do it!?

Well apparently all the thought she put into her motivation distracted her as she wizzed down the zip line she stretched for the second chain, a queer chance of bad luck she missed. She hit the wall with a heavy thump loosing her single handed grip, tumbling down watching the chain sway lazily in the wind as she tumbled down.

She was really not meant for this kinda stuff.

STAGE 1 ATTEMPT 2

Grind baby grind, but not in the leveling kind~

Yep it was true, Sammy was grinding, running the course over and over learning what to do, what not to do, and failing every single time. It was horrible it was embarrassing. She was ashamed but determined to finish the stupid course. Stepping up she prepped for another go.

Again like clock work the steps, the log, even the skitter wall seemed.... easier? Enough to get the ghoul cocky, feeling like she could take it on. Again she jumped for a quick start on the Tarzan ropes, but to no avail, her hands reached, the wind blew.

The rope shifted and down Samantha Lee went, for her second run of the day.

STAGE 1 ATTEMPT 3 SAMMY RAGE? IT KNOWS NO LIMITS....

Jack Dammit Jack Dammit. Screw everything, she couldn't stand it she had to make it she had to complete this stupid course. If she couldn't do this how could she expect to even get through the next field trip alive?

Again she stormed the course with no remorse, when she reached the blades she took a heavy step left, then right. But when she hit the bridge it spun quick slamming against her arms sending her tumbling with a heavy splash into the pool. For a while she floated eyes closed fuming quietly at her own failures.

Terror Warrior was going to be a mark of failure to her for ages.

STAGE 1 GO! (First attempt!)

Ren, for the most part, had been spending most of his time lately doing absolutely nothing productive.

He felt lazy and uncoordinated. Which was why, when the signs about the Terror Warrior trials went up around Amityville High, he decided, right then and there, to get his arse in gear.

Unfortunately the first obstacle in the course - leaping on a series of platforms over a decent sized gap - was made somewhat difficult by the fact that Ren, still sleepy, was not paying too much attention, slipped, and landed on his back on the ground.

It was not pretty. Nor did it do particularly good for his ego, which was now lying shattered on the floor.

Grumbling, Ren hauled himself to his feet, rubbing his bandaged hand against the leg of his sweatpants. His wings, which were slightly bent at some feathers from his ungraceful fall, curled tightly against his back, Ren's tail flicking behind him. He gritted his teeth and stared hard at the course.

Okay, he thought. Take two.

STAGE 1 GO! (Second attempt!)

Take Two certainly went a lot better than Take One.

This time, instead of letting his attention wander, Ren leapt nimbly from one platform to the other, keeping his eyes focused on the end goal.

The steps were certainly easier than the rolling log obstacle that was next on this course. Ren stared at the log with a look of great dismay for only a brief moment before he gave a sigh and climbed atop it.

By the end of that rumbling ride, he felt as if his teeth might fall out of his skull, he was jostling around so much, but at least he had managed to hold on.

The third thing took a bit more concentration, but Ren's enormous leap from the trampoline to one of the walls was dead on and made him feel quite accomplished.

"Blades of death" was mildly nerve wracking, the concave wall next to impossible and frustrating beyond belief (it took Ren several tries to scale it successfully), climbing the rope a breeze, and then, finally he was done.

He felt quite proud of himself.

At least until he looked at the next line of obstacles.

STAGE 2 START!

The chains were slightly intimidating. Ren almost missed grabbing the second one, his fingers brushing against the cold metal just in time to seize onto the locks and haul himself onto it, dangling in midair. He was not afraid of falling, since he had wings to catch himself if he did, but flying was not allowed in the competition anyway, and he wanted to do his best without that particularly advantage.

And, for the first time in his life, Ren was quite grateful of all the times his father had forced him into training when he was younger. Especially since scaling the two walls with the ledges was a lot easier than he had thought it would be.

After the ledges came sliding (he narrowly made his landing), then the moving walls (it took quite a bit of maneuvering to figure out where exactly to climb), more chains (he was a little too dizzy at the end), and then, finally, lifting up various weighted walls (he almost dropped the heaviest one).

"Now," said Ren, to no one in particular as he rubbed his hands together. "Stage Three."

"...er, yes."

STAGE 3 BEGIN!

Clearly Ren's lack of overall, sheer strength was his downfall.

It was after he had climbed around with the metal cube, swung from the stairs by his arms, leapt from bar to bar, and pedaled across an expansive path with his hands, that Ren, his hands and arms aching with the effort, finally flubbed and accidentally let go while climbing sideways with only his fingers to support him.

It sorta hurt, landing at the bottom, but Ren was determined to try it yet again.

Just after he took a small break.

STAGE 1 GO!

Rejuvinated after a bit of a break Lattice returned to try again. The steps she was starting to get to know intimately rarely stumbling except toward the end. The log, however, she managed to get stuck again for much longer than before but she managed to get free with a bit of a grumble. Sometimes her needles were such a huge hindrance. She ran through the blades of death in the same manner as she always did - flailing. Lots and lots of flailing. Never not flailing. It was amazing the blades didn't knick her each time she did this.

The wall was but a pittance to her as she got over it in little time and then when the rope came she owned it. Owned it for real.

STAGE 2 START!

Chain reaction got taken care of as she went sailing through, catch the next chain and then was home free. At the Ladder she climbed got to the top and then went down the slider drop without missing the landing. She climbed across the Skitter Walk with no issue. Metal spin gave her no problem but when she got to the wall lift...

...There was a problem. She tried and tried to lift the 50 pound wall only to end up flailing at it in frustration and her needles got stuck in the wall.

..Fantastic.

She got free of the wall bearing the pain in a stoic fashion.
Lattice turned back toward the first stage once more.
The gap got her.

STAGE 1 GO!

Lattice still had her pride at least for a few minutes. She picked herself up after falling in the gap and then moved to try again. This time she sailed over it and then she went about the other obstacles stumbling a bit here and there especially getting stuck in that JACK FORSAKEN LOG OF LOGGINESS thanks to her needles.

The log would never give her up. It would never let her down. It would never run around and desert her. It will never make her cry it will never say good bye. The log would never say a lie...And hurt her.

Unfortunately she didn't return the affections.

Once she made it through the Tarzan Rope again she scrambled over to the next stage.

STAGE 2 START!

The next stage and her usually didn't get along then again this whole event didn't get along with her. She either snagged on something or she got stuck somewhere. Ugh.

She managed to pass the obstacles with some issues here and there but when she got to the wall lift she struggled the most to get all the walls lifted and out of her way but she managed it with little issue.

Lattice was starting to wonder if maybe - just maybe - if she'd make it at all.

STAGE 3 BEGIN!

Stage 3. She managed to get to this point once again and this time she passed over the Rumbling Dice and even got passed the Devil Steps without getting hung up or caught. The Jumping Bars gave her a bit of a problem and the Arm Bike was almost a disaster considering her ... unique features. The Arm Bike was a trial of endurance as she tried not to get caught somewhere and even had to awkwardly arrange her arms to accommodate for some of the needles.

She looked and felt ridiculous.

The cliff hanger was alright though her fingertips had a bit of a hard time gripping to the narrow ledges on occasion but otherwise she was pretty much flawless! The last obstacle she almost missed the ring and fell to her doom but she managed to grab on and side down to safety.

Finally. She made it.

..She never wanted to do this again.

*^*

STAGE 1 GO!

The notes around campus were easily seen to the challenge-trained eyed. With the elections over, the now new Student Council members were running something called "Terror Warrior." On the date scheduled for it to begin, Levi made sure to be on the site.

Was this that course she'd been in with Demi? From their trip to getting bacon burgers? Well, more like bread with her demanded extra bacon given they'd nearly been burnt so many times; that was her reward. Levi came across what looked like a pretty intense challenge- sans the fire everywhere. So this wasn't the same this as last time but- What was it doing here? Some of her peers were going through the obstacles and she watched them to see how certain parts should be played. Falling into pools and tumbling down small but steep hills- this was a challenge of stamina? Perhaps.

The tatzel figured she'd gotten through that first course so- why not try this out? When Levi got to the entry of the course, she signaled an okay-to-go to Jericho when it was clear for her to go.

It was a stepping of sort but at angles that just didn't ... seem right. Well- if not handled properly, one could slip. They weren't meant to be so much walked as bounced on from foot to foot. Shrugging, the white tailed ghoul bounded up the Sextuple Steps to be confronted with a Rolling Log. Alrightly- what in Jack's name... she remembered then what she saw at this part- you had to hold onto the log and roll down. It was tricky, but so long as you didn't roll under.... which she didn't. Clinging to one, she rolled down the track, crouched over the long when it came over the dip and landed on the other side with a simple jump. It was just like that other course- there was no tatzel bouncing.

There was another jump and some some rather tricky footing in the Jumping Spider, but Levi came to clear it with a huff of satisfaction once it was over. Well, at least that portion was. Quick! Got to pick up the pace! The Blades of Death seemed to have the same strategy as the Steps. As long as she could -AH! She nearly missed one of the rotating platforms, but stepped on the new flipped side just in time to clear it. Phew!

The end was nearing and she found herself at that wall. It was a matter of climbing and then~ swinging to the platform, right? She began her climb; it wasn't like climbing a tree, but she was able to get over the rising edge easily enough. At the edge, her tail aided her in lifting upward and onto her knees. This was the last bit till she hit her first platform. She climbed up the rope and used her tail as a she did her legs for that extra push.

She'd finished the climb and made it this far. Now if I did THAT every day... jack. Grinning she placed a hand on her hip and surveyed the new part of the course, trying to recall seeing it played through.

(( Stage 1 clear ))

STAGE 2 START!

Shifting her shoulders to crack her neck in preparation, she eyed the new obstacle. Her upper body was pretty strong, so grasping a chain, she wasn't all that concerned about not being able to go from one chain to the next till there was no more chain to go from. Yep. She had this down. This obstacle was going to be like climbing a tree...only not. It was a process of using her weight to lean forward and back enough to gain just enough momentum to swing to that next chain.

Done.

The next part? A ladder of a sort...but it required using a pole rather than your hands or feet (or tail). She smirked and took to it like she'd get through without a hassle. That was the beginning of her error. Taking up the pole, she began to climb using the pole and upon the midsection, she tried to angle the rod to pick up on her next nook. It slid off instead. She'd momentarily forgotten that one crucial rule - never underestimate your opponent.

Sure, it was a ladder but same rule applied.
