Amy let out a surprised yelp when two COG solder's broke the front door down, they hurried Into the kitchen and told them to get outside. Their father nodded and waited on Amy and the boys to get out first before following them. The solder's lead them outside and to a KR(king raven) search and rescue, after they were on, the two Gear's ran off to help other's. Matthew held tight to Nick's hand, not willing to let go. Amy was holding onto her husband. The KR lifted from the ground and took off Into the air with other unit's. From the air there was nothing but chaos on the ground, giant hole's everywhere, buildings crashing down and blowing up. Worst of all... there were humanoid monster's killing people. But the COG were fighting back.

Matthew gritted his teeth, the look In his eyes flared with rage. "They'll pay for this..." He growled as he glared down at the locust.

Matthew gasped faintly at the flash back, he shook his head to clear It before sighing, he glanced down at Nickolas, he had to back hand some tears away.

"We're here guys, time to relax while you can, get a shower and nice meal and maybe a few Z's." The driver of the medical car said as he got out of the driver's seat, he closed the door and went around to the back of It. He opened the door's and with Matt's help, they got Nickolas out and took him Inside the base. After that, they handed him over to the medical staff to get patched up.

"I'll be with you later alright?" Matthew called to his brother before they took him to the medical center In the base.

Matthew, Jace, Tanner and Clayton went to the armory, since It was almost night fall there wasn't going to be any more missions until morning. Everyone but Clayton took their armor off. After that they headed to the lunch room, ate, talked and joked around. Matthew left early to find his parents and let them know what happened, he found them In a meeting room with a few others. Matt pulled them off to the side after giving them hugs.

"What's wrong Matt? Your eyes are blood shot." His father asked.

"Well... the mission went well and everything... but Nick..." Matthew had to hold back a few tears, he knew Nickolas was going to be alright but he was still worried. "He was wounded during the mission."

Their mother began crying and hugged her husband.

Their father wrapped his arms around her. "Is he alright?" He asked.

"I don't know, he's been taken to the ER for surgery. Kirin managed to patch him up a bit on the field but he's not out of the woods yet." Matthew replied. "I'm really sorry... It's my fault he was hurt, I wasn't watching where I was going and a sniper shot at us, he pushed me out of the way and took the bullet to save me."

Matthew sighed lightly and nodded, he was happy. "That's good to hear." He said with a smile.

Amy let go of her husband, she smiled at Kirin as she wiped some tears away. "Thank you so much for helping our son. When can we see him?"

Clayton and Jace had gone to bed, leaving Tanner by himself to think for a while. He was picking at his food, he had barely ate anything and his class of beer was half full. Tanner seemed to be sad about something.

"Yeah, just a ruff day." Tanner replied before sighing. "Seeing what happened to Nick remind me of when my family got killed on E-Day." He picked us his beer and drank a bit, It felt good going down. He was trying to cut back on drinking It but when he was stressed, It seemed to be the only thing that calmed him down.
