"Marvelous." Was all the king could really muster. He managed, after a moment or two however, to clear his throat and take up her arm, "How about I show you around, milady? I don't believe you were offered any tour yesterday."
"Behave yourself." Grigori warned with a raise of both eyebrows. More than anything else he was informing the king that he would not be tagging along.
"Implying that I wouldn't even without a warning, sir? I am offended, off with your head." Of course Nihl was never serious, especially about executions. He had outlawed any unjust capital punishment upon becoming king. He had a habit of throwing around words with his brother and Grigori though, because they were close enough friends to know he was never serious.[/color
"He's not serious, try not to be alarmed." Grigori told the woman on the king's arm before she had a chance to scare off. He gave the king a stern look before reminding him, "Try not to scare your guests away before they get all the way through the door, majesty."
"Yes of course." Millin had entered the room just in time to throw in his own two cents, "My brother is a kind and benevolent king. And a genuine a**, too."
"Watch your mouth in the presence of a lady."
"Right, I apologize Lady Ustad, I didn't mean to offend you." Millin smiled, proud of his little remark which was returned only by a glare from the mystic.
"Both of you behave yourselves."

"Somebody said that he was gonna lay down easy and then there'd be a baby soon. It's gonna be a girl, right mommy?" The six-year-old really had no idea what she was talking about, and had probably mixed up a few words there, but she wanted a girl on her side, that was for sure.

"Ok." Laci slid her arm through his and began to follow him when the other stalled them a few moments. She didn't have any problems trusting the king. And his words didn't effect her. She was a pretty good judge of character, or so she thought, and felt he wouldn't hurt a fly. "of course sir." She answered to the white eyed man. She wasn't sure how this time with Nihl would go. But her mother had thought it would end with Laci in a bed, so she had taken the time to inform her what roughly went on in a bedroom. Not that her mother wanted her to just climb into bed with Nihl. But she knew if it did end that way her daughter needed to know. The small facts she had been given was enough to make her more then willing to wait till she was happily married. Maybe even then she would try to stall the enviable. ~ ~ ~ ~
Avarossa sighed and got out of bed, heading for the closet. "I don't know sweetie. There is a possibility he could have a little girl of his own soon." She knew her daughter had probably over heard something and was just repeating it the way she remembered. "Where did you hear that?"

"This way." Nihl walked her out of the throne room with him and into the first corridor. The palace was huge, so he had a feeling they'd be on the tour for a while, "Have you eaten anything this morning?"
---
Grigori turned to the girl's father once the two were gone, "You wouldn't mind getting down to brass tacks then, would you? I hope you understand how obvious it is that we'll probably see a marriage say in a month or so - that's a rough estimation - so we'll need not only your complete cooperation but it will take a willingness on your part to agree to all of our terms. This isn't a political alliance by any means, you're a citizen. But we won't expect a dowry of any sorts, that doesn't mean you won't though, does it?"
---
"One of the mommies at the party said someone was laying easy." Afsana smiled, "She was all mad and she made her daughter dance with fat guys."

Laci followed along at his side, it was easy to keep up with him. "No actually." She said frowning, why hadn't she remembered that? Usually her stomach would be growling like a caged beast by now, but instead it felt unsettled. "it's been a, um rather busy morning." Laci looked about the large hallway, her room could fit in here. ~ ~ ~ ~
The man raised a brow "Terms? What kind of terms could you want in a marriage. But yes. I am well aware of just how well the two seem to be getting along, and where their relationship will likely lead." The man looked off in the direction the two had walked. "I want my daughters happiness, and yes, I would like to get some sort of dowry. My family isn't rich, and I have two younger ones that Laci takes charge of when my wife and I work. When she is gone we will have to hire someone to do that. Witch will cost us." ~ ~ ~ ~
"Oh." Avarossa said as she changed inside her closet out of her daughter's eye sight. Fully dressed she walked to her dresser. "Come her and let me brush your hair, then you can brush mine for me." Avarossa held her hand out to the little girl.

"Well that won't do." Nihl smiled and guided her first toward the kitchen. The head chef immediately pushed a jar of sweets away from the counter's edge, hiding it behind an array of other things. Nihl gave him a look, "I'm not here to steal your food, I was wondering if you could whip up a breakfast for the lady, she hasn't eaten this morning."
Although the chef looked uncertain, he saw the lady was likely a potential wife and chose to oblige, "Come back in a half hour or so, I'll have you a nice breakfast."
Nihl nodded and thanked the man before whisking the woman away to see the rest of the hall in that limited time span.
---
"Understandable, sir, and we would be willing to hire someone for you, you give us the hours, we will provide you with the caretaker. Any other needs? You understand the fiscal responsibilities being handled by myself of course? Yes, your daughter will likely marry the king, if this is the case then you can submit requests for anything you need through myself, or your daughter honestly." He pat the man on the shoulder, "Of course, you won't have to worry about that until they're married, right?"
---
"No brush my hair!" Afsana leapt off of the bed and attempted to hide beneath the bed, "No brushing!"

The sights all around her were more then enough to keep from thinking about her empty belly. "Your palace is truly beautiful your highness." She said looking at a large painting. "I never really got a chance to look at it last night." The palace was pretty, but Laci really just wanted to be back out at the sea. She wanted to swim with Nihl again. And maybe, just maybe even steal a kiss again. ~ ~ ~ ~
The man nodded his head. "Yes. Well honestly it would be the best for my daughter. She isn't likely to catch anyone else's eye. All ways stuck in the house caring for her siblings, it limits just how often she can go out." The man sighed. "Well I assume I can leave my daughter's safety, and virtue of course, in the hands of you and his highness. I am affriad I have to get to work. I can come pick up Laci later on, if needed." ~ ~ ~ ~
Avarossa rolled her eyes. She knew her daughter wouldn't want this. "Come here you." She said walking to the bed and pulling her daughter out.

Nihl couldn't help but notice that it seemed Laci's mind was elsewhere, "Something on your mind, darling?"
---
Grigori nodded, "Very well. We'll see you later then, sir."
---
Afsana screamed like her mother had a knife instead of a brush. She tried clinging onto anything she could, but there didn't seem to be anything stationary for her to go for.

Laci turned and smiled. "Oh um no." She said looking off again before turning back to him. "Well actually." her mother had said it was bad to lie. Not that she thought he would be mad if she asked if they could still go to the beach. "I was just wondering, if maybe, we could go back to the beach again today." ~ ~ ~ ~
Avarossa pulled the child out from under the bed and carried her, kicking and screaming, all the way to the chair positioned infront of the vanity. Sitting her she began to run the brush through her hair. "Hush hush, if you don't take care of your hair it will all be shaved off, and you'll bald."

Nihl smiled down at the woman, "Would you be opposed to going now? We can be a little late for breakfast. No big deal."
---
The small girl was already above tears, so she folded her arms and stuck out her bottom lip to put silently.

"No not at all." Laci said grinning. "I would love that." The ocean last night had been beautiful, but it had been dark. She was excited to see it in the day light. ~ ~ ~ ~
Avarossa laughed at her daughter's expression. "Don't you look beautiful?" She smiled and picked the girl up when she was done. "Why don't we get you dressed and ready for the day, then we can go find daddy."

Nihl took up the younger woman's arm and walked with her toward the door. Surely Grigori wouldn't care if he didn't tell him just this once where he was going, right? Oh well. Because he was going anyway.
---
Afsana shook her head angrily, "No! I don't wanna dress!" She returned to her pouting position.

Laci held them up for just a second. Reaching below her she lifted a foot and pulled off her slippers. "Father would be upset if I messed these ones up." She said with a giggle as she carried them in her free hand. ~ ~ ~ ~
"Oh stop it. You can't run around naked all day." Avarossa entered the child's bedroom and carried her to her closet. "Now lets pick out something for you to wear." She inspected a couple of the little dressed. "This one should do." She said pulling it off the hanger.

After successfully sneaking away from the palace, and after a long, enjoyable walk in the company of one another, Nihl and the woman on his arm finally made it to the beach. With the gorgeous, early-morning breeze and the bright blue water splashing in at their feet, Nihl started them closer to the water. "So, you really like it here?"
---
Afsana blew a disgusted raspberry at the dress her mother had picked out and folded her arms, turning up her nose. "I want pants like daddy wears!"

Laci looked out at the horizon in awe. "Yes." She said stepping into the cool water. "It really is wonderful out here. I wish I could spend more time by it." She sighed. Laci lifted the hem of her dress as a small wave threatened to wet her. "But I imagine there are many places out there just as beautiful as this, and we live such short lives, that I'll likely never get to see them." She said still staring out into the open see, off in the distance, she could see the sails of a ship as it glided through the waved on it's journey. ~ ~ ~ ~
"Pants are for boys sweetheat. You will have to deal with the dress." Avarossa laid the dress out on the girl's bed. "Now can you get dressed like a big girl, or do you need help?"

"Of course there are things we won't get to see in our lifetimes, but we have to think about what we will see, what we can do, versus what we won't." He had already removed his boots and was now stepping into the water, "For example. I'll probably never see the whole world. I'll never get to see the lands as anyone but a king. I cannot experience them from the perspective of the average citizen. But I will enjoy what I can see. And I will listen to the accounts of those with that perspective. It's the best I can do. I owe it to them and to myself."
---
"I don't want to! I wanna wear boys clothes! I want to play in the forest! Leave me alone!" Afsana shouted. She attempted to spring away and run off again.
