Poke was satisfied in that her Nergal was able to take down the cutsey looking deer, but was still saddened to see her minipet fall down as well, resulting in a tie. She would have to make sure to feed him well and congratulate him, but she would be back again to challenge the gym leader another time.

 Jackdammit was seriously starting to hate the little crossdresser sprite. He scowled as he limped away, losing the game before he even got to the second fight. "Good job, you weakling!" Riff called from Roch's vest, laughing like an idiot. "Oh wait until I tell Clef! He's going to NEVER let you live it down!" Jackdammit gave her a dirty look and stalked away, refusing to reply.

Malodore had ambled over to Desu-chan's booth a while ago, and was idly observing the minipet battles. Luce was watching too, sitting patiently at the plague doctor's side... but, as battle after battle ensued, the cwn pup was getting more and more excited, her ears rising higher each time. Finally, at the end of a round, she barked eagerly and pawed at Malodore's coat.
"Si, tresorina?"
She barked again and looked at Desu-chan's minipets, her hackles rising even as her tail wagged.
Malodore blinked. "You want to fight?!"
Luce barked twice.
So it was that Luce entered the ring, growling at the tiny fairy. Of course she could beat such a weak creature! The cwn pup lunged and in a single moment of tussling the fairy fell back, handily defeated!
Hah! Luce raised her head high with pride.

Malodore leaned in anxiously as the next round began. The Desutan pet seemed frightening... though that might have just been because Desu-chan herself was pretty frightening, in her way. The plague doctor had learned to respect the pink sparkles.
Luce crouched and snarled at her opponent, then leapt! There was a brief tussle, and this time a canine yelp of pain made Malodore jump, but when it was over Luce was standing tall, her tongue lolling as she waved her tail in triumph.

The last challenger would have been disarmingly adorable if Malodore and Luce hadn't been watching the other bouts. As it was, Luce did her very best threatening, angry growl, her hackles rising all down her back. She was going to win this! She couldn't lose!
The pup charged in with a howl, slamming into the Ohdeer - and Malodore couldn't watch. It closed its eyes and flinched with every yelp and bark until at last the tumult on the battlefield seemed to have ceased...
And there was Luce, panting heavily - but not too heavily that she couldn't throw her head back and howl her victory!

Luce: 10 - 1 - 2 - 5 = 3 HP! Luce wins!))

Deciding to go with a different minipet this time, Marosa brought out a rather frightening pony, one that was black and winged and cute, but it snorted and stamped impatiently. He sighed. Why did it have to resort to this? His other two were still mending, and now it was down to Pumpkin the petite pony? Sigh. Might as well get it overwith. The pony hit for a lot of damage -- a lot, in fact, that it was a clean KO. It took a lot of damage, too. (( Desu-chan's Minipet: 3 - 6 = 0 HP Marosa's Minipet: 10 - 6 = 4 HP ))

Second pet came out, and the pony charged; knocking that one clean out as well.
Marosa winced; about one more hit and the pony would be a goner, and he'd be on the losing end for a third time.

Crossing his fingers, Marosa cried out, "Dodge to th' left!" He winced, his pony not listening, and was knocked flat to the ground.
He scowled, picking the pony up and trudging off with her. The stupid pony should have listened, but she didn't, and he had lost, the other minipet standing.
Marosa hated losing.

It had been riveting, watching Luce conquer all three of Desu's pets on her first try. Luce was a shining example of the kind of minipet Riley had always wanted.
And here, at her feet, chewing on one of her toes, was a shining example of what she hadn't actually ever wanted.But if there was one thing Ombra could do right, it was to look up to Luce as a role model. He stopped gnawing on the purple toe for a moment and watched Luce hurtle through every fight, emerging victorious, and in his little puppy eyes one could almost see the phrase ANYTHING YOU CAN DO I CAN DO BETTER burst into flames.
Unfortunately, he had no battle strategy - and in his burst of determination, instead of actually trying to battle, he rammed into Desu's first pet headfirst, knocking the minipet out cold.

Okay. Okay. This time he was going to be serious. Super serious. So serious that he couldn't even chase that thing that was wiggling at the corner of his vision- OH GOD WHAT WAS THAT THING HE HAD TO GET THAT THING WHAT WAS IT.
Ombra's final attack, the hurricane he had summoned by running in circles chasing his own tail, brought Desutan and himself both into a whirlwind of pain.
Riley covered her face in embarrassment. This was not the glorious victory she had envisioned.
Desutan's HP: 3 - 3 = KO!
Ombra's HP: 9 - 3 = 6

Was Luce watching? Was she? Luce, are you watching? He had brought two of the pets down, just like she did!
.. Okay maybe not JUST like she did, BUT THEY WERE DOWN. They were down and that thing was still there oh what was that he had to get the wiggling thing behind him oh he was so close-
The baby Ohdeer didn't even have to move. Ombra managed to whirlwind himself so hard, he flipped over onto his back and looked like he was breakdancing.
This went on for several long, painful-to-watch minutes. Riley considered just leaving.
When the whirlwind finally subsided, Ombra had proclaimed victory.
.. No, not victory over the minipet. He was unconscious, KO'd from his own attack, but his tail was in his mouth.
I'm getting a cat.

Oh hey, guess what time it was? Thats right! It was time for Poke to fight Desu-chan for a change at a badge! For the millionth time But, the dragon ghoul still hoped that she could obtain a solid victory for herself. She would just have to keep trying and trying...and trying Thankfully her negal was of a similar mindset, otherwise she might have had some trouble convincing a more tame minipet to continue fighting ((First battle: Korobokkuru vs Rapalicious Nergal! It was a beautiful fight. Absolutely beautifully. The blue fairy had barely enough time to get ready before Poke's Raptor had set his claws on the blue fairy, and Koed the minipet with a few well aimed blows
Dared she hope the next battle would go so well?
Yup! She dared. And her Nergal raptor had came through once again the victor with only minor damage, the sparkily desutan fainted on the ground.
It was a beautiful sight to behold

Poke watched with baited breath as her mini faced his last opponent, the Baby deer whom was looking as cute as ever. He charged forwards, but was only able to get a glancing blow as the deer was somehow able to maneuver out of the way and headbutt him back.

Then suddenly, the two minipets had jumped at each other at the same time, both hitting each other in mid air in a spectacular show to land on opposite sides of each other. No one dared to move....
Untill the deer fell to the ground
Her raptor was still standing
.....
She finaly beaten desu-chan
YYYEEEAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
Every person within a 12 mile radius would of heard pokes triumphant shout of victory, while her minipet chirped happily at not having to fight the other minipets anymore.
