Is it just me, or did practically everyone either not notice or forget about my thread detailing an impending short silent film project? xD But, it's not like there has been any development since then in lieu of our busy young lives. neutral

I think I updated the thread last week about our own vampire killing cinematic efforts with as much news (very little) as there was to update; to the interested, do look at your will!

As for the upcoming major Castlevania motion picture, there is news:

The word is that it'll be very much so taking place in and around Castlevania itself - this is good news. This means that there won't be any - or much - time period and globe travelling, or so I hope. The other large amount of information is that, by the sound of it, they will be filming on location in Eastern Europe, namely Romania, and possibly meaning Wallachia itself!

One thing I have noticed about the Castlevania movie is that the more we hear about it, the more just possibly not-as-God-awful-as-we-expect it sounds. It shall retain the art and music aesthetic (Michiru Yamane may compose the score!) the two primary characters will be Simon Belmont and Lord Dracula, it will mostly be set in Dracula's castle, and now we have word that it will be shot in the very land the game and legend both of which are set and that where it has come.

If all of the above is granted, then give me a good, dedicated to the story of and true to the games script, and a talented, but not Hollywood overblown cast (so that the film will not be single handedly carried by the media on the presence of the starring actors) and I will stop my bitching, probably enjoy the movie, and advise the rest of the fan community to do the same.

Most likely you posted that during a guild dry spell. It's all about timing. I didn't know anyone was so crazy about Castlevania to make an independant film about it. Hollywood's only doing it to cash out.

thats retarded. but other than that, its a cool poster... they shouldve used the font thats on the cover of lament. "Castlevania" ya know?

the mistake they made with the RE movies was that they didn't follow the storyline much, which is what the fans prefer. I mean, the movie was good and everything but I actually would've prefered it to stay with the storyline. Hopefully, the people who're making the CV movie realized this mistake and will make an awesome movie! (i hope Alucard's in it!! XD)

It did say rumored on the cast list. And imdb isn't exactly known for their accurate data in the first place. I'm not too crazy about the top of that poster... Waving the name Paul Anderson around like it's a GOOD thing. The less he has to do with the film the better it will be. The picture is cool though. My hopes had risen a little when I heard about the art and the music, then the big bold letter with Paul Anderson written on it reminded me of it's inevitable doom. Mark my words... As long as they use that man's script this movie WILL blow.
