Keeping close to Bul, she unknowing held his arm, hoping the lights would return soon. She didn't mind the dark, but after the whole island issue, she would prefer to see everything in front of her. Relaxing some as she watched the performance, her gaze followed the puppet as it danced around on the strings.

Once that was done and over with, the lights switched back on, letting her ease up completely when everything came into view again. "What..was that?" It was..interesting all right, but..weird as well. She wasn't sure how to describe it. "I have no idea, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it might." Just what was it they all had planned for the night? She thought it just to be dancing, but..their little show had her thinking otherwise.

"Maybe? I'm not sure. Other than Scarentine, this is the only other dance I've taken part in." It was possible their would be games, and what 'Oogie boogie' implied, it sure seemed like it.

The witch couldn't help but be impressed with the manticore, not only was she a DJ but apparently she took the job very seriously as well. At Deacon's suggestion, Emily gave the refreshments another doubtful glance, but in the end agreed, "I think she'd like that but..." She moved in closer and lowered her voice a bit, "...be careful! A-at the last dance there was...it was...someone accidentally spilled alcohol into the punch." She leaned back with a flush and looked away, "N-not that I drank any. O-or at least much of any."

Finally! Fiiiinally! Junko had woken up that morning and gone straight to the auditorium to help with decorating, fanning back and forth between set-up and the kitchen for last minute offerings. Like the candy coated brains she'd promised for Riley; it'd been kind of (Okay, a lot) gross to do but she'd made a promise and damnit! She was going to keep it! Her dress was finished, Seiji's ensemble for the night was finished, her minipets were fed and attended to and everything was perfect. Even She wasn't complaining much as strange as that may seem. In fact She had helped act as extra arms for Junko when the ghoul needed it, though She couldn't exactly carry incredibly heavy things. There was one problem...she'd lost track of time and nearly been late to meet Seiji for the date he'd promised. A nice dinner before they went to the prom, one for just the two of them. It'd been so long since they'd gone on an actual date-date that she was not going to mess this up. She dressed, even put on a bit of very light makeup, and put up some of her hair into an ornate braided up-do. Only some of her hair was put up, the rest of it was left to move freely and naturally as long as She promised to behave Herself tonight. Under no circumstances was She to attack anyone.

Okay...there was obviously one reason she was allowed, but Junko didn't worry about that. It couldn't possibly happen tonight. Not for prom.

And so, though she had missed a grand spectacle of a performance, Junko and Seiji finally arrived. Junko was hanging onto his arm, hair wriggling with excitement as she looked all around. Sure, she'd seen it earlier in the day but now there were students here to see it as well outside of the prom committee! "Eeeeeeeeee! Seijiiiiii~!" Junko squealed, bouncing on her toes and looking up at him with a bright smile. She was so excited! Dancing and music and food and friends and ooooh! So much fun! She saw everyone she knew! Well, almost everyone but still! So many of her beloved friends! She didn't even mind that Mei was here! "Ohohoh? Can we go dance? Please, please? I've been practicing!" Well, sort of. Dancing in your room when no one's watching probably doesn't really count.

Lilith took a moment to consider the pace of the song that was currently playing over the floor and by a moment it was more like a second. It was more than just face paced, it was upbeat and fast paced, the perfect song for her to have the sloth demon dance to, at least, she thought so. She didn't entirely care where they danced and she smirked as she leaned in closer to him.

"Perhaps I should just dance right here in your lap?" Was that even a question? It was more of a tease and Lilith didn't give him the chance to reply as she stood up off his lap and brushed her dress off with a smile. Her foot tapped lightly to the beat on the dance floor as it echoed to the backstage, and she offered her hand to the demon, looking at Bartholomew intently.

"By the time we get down there, surely the song will have changed," so she'd given him a bit of hope, but whether the song had changed to something slower by the time they got down there to dance, or not -- she'd have him dance.

It hadn't been easy but Charlie had managed to carry Amrita all the way to prom. He had to pick her up right? Thats what all the other boils were doing with their dates. Charlie wanted Amrita to have the best treatment of all the ghouls because she was HIS special friend and no one elses.

No it hadn't been easy but Charlie had been determined and that was the driving force in his carrying of his date. And now they were here and he could set Amrita back on her feet.

Huff huff huff

The demon panted some but that was short lived when he actually got a good look at what the students had DONE for prom. Charlie couldn't help him self he had to touch one of the brightly colored decorations on the wall.

"AMRITA! THIS ROOMS GLOWY!!!" He informed Amrita of the obvious. "Heeeeeeeeeey wonder if we can take some decorations home for later and make OUR rooms look like this?" He rubbed his chin and inspected the decorations. Surely they wouldn't mind after clean up? Charlie would be sure not to ask so that no one could say no after prom. No one would mind right?

But that thought was short lived.

"OH YEAH THE OTHERS!! Lets go find them and see what they dressed up as!" Charlie had originally wanted to wear a batman mask, swim trunks, and rain boots. Mac hadn't let that train wreck happen though and for the greater good helped Charlie get ready for Prom.

Barth was about to second her suggestion for dancing locations, but didn't get the opportunity. He was feeling somewhat thwarted. He took her hand and stood slowly anyway, looking past the curtain with regret. The song stayed persistently fast, but regardless of tempo, he wasn't planning on dancing quickly. The dancing was rather beside the point.

He offered Lilith his arm.

"Every villain has to pay his dues, I suppose."

Riley made her way down the steps to return to the main floor, but before she had gotten very far she heard several quiet, mumbling voices coming over the loud speaker. It was quiet enough that the music from the DJ Booth drowned it out for the general populace, but Riley was walking right past the speakers that had been broadcasting the show.

And what she was hearing put her on edge for Barth's safety.

Be careful. She emitted straight into Barth's mind. Don't get infected with intercourse moss and die. Also turn off your mic, don't just take it off.

Satisfied that her warning would suffice, she moved off stage, setting the spare microphone that she hadn't even bothered to turn on back to the DJ Booth. She gave Cady a wink, and moved on to finally join her friends.

The only problem was, the room had gotten quite full - and the pulsing lights were making it hard for her night vision to keep itself adjusted. Riley was flying a little blind, in a room like this.

While Junko had been busy rushing about the school doing various tasks for the prom, Seiji had been busy worrying over what to do with his hair. Yes, that sounded incredibly ghouly, but it was fact. He hadn't cut it in months, and while he didn't particularly mind the length, he didn't want to to appear quite that shaggy at prom. It was by lucky chance more then plan that he'd gathered the top back into a short pony tail, and that had looked acceptable. He'd then taken a pair of electric trippers to the back and sides, trimming the rest down into a close fuzz along his scalp. It had been slightly impulsive, but he was pleased with the end results.

Style issues solved, he'd waited out the remainder of the afternoon doing mostly nothing, and finding himself growing more and more nervous by the hour. Until it was time to dress and pick up Junko for their date. He'd slipped into the clothing the ghoul had lovingly made for him, a more modern twist on something traditional to their nationality, and found he'd been worried for nothing. The clothing looked great, more then great. His ghoulfriend was a genius with a needle and thread.

And her dress.. He'd hardly eaten a thing at dinner, too busy trying (and failing) not to stare at just how amazingly lovely she looked. He had to have mentioned it at least a dozen times by now.

He expected the squeal as they finally entered the the big room, even letting out a low 'wow' of his own as he took a moment to admire the decorations. Dark eyes widening ever so slightly at just how amazing everything looked. The students had done this? Very impressive. "Dance?" He blinked back down at his date, before soaking in the music thumping around them. "Of course." It didn't matter to him if she'd been practicing or not, and he lead her out onto the dance floor, with a bit of a smug grin on his face.

Malodore had arrived along with Riley, though it had remained quietly to one side as the room filled and the festivities began. The spectacle was quite a sight, however, and it felt a surge of pride not only at the work Riley had put into it, but at the skill of Christof's puppetry. They had all done well.

When Riley descended from the stage, it quickly moved over to her, putting one hand on her arm. "That was marvelous," it said, opening its beak in a smile. "An excellent start to the evening, I am sure."

Content with things, Lilith accepted Bartholomew's arm, looping her own into it and snugging nice and tight against his side. She hadn't really planned to do much dancing at the prom, so whether the demon danced fast or slow was really no concern of hers. She'd prefer to slowly grind as she danced, but that's only because she was a devil in a reaper's body and boy, did that girl have plans for him. Not that the sloth demon would ever dislike those plans.

"I'm sure you have many to pay," she smiled, sliding her free hand through his hair playfully before running her fingertips over his horns. "Shall we?"

Riley hadn't realized Malodore was near until she felt the hand on her arm. Her own hand quickly dropped atop it, feeling the familiarity and instantly relaxing in ease.

Thank you, my love. Riley murmured, though her voice sounded a touch wary. It seems we might have a slight problem, however. I, ah, should have tested the blacklight system before agreeing that it was a good idea. Her irises were pulsing with light, as though they were trying to focus, and refocus, over and over. It wasn't. It's very difficult to see right now - not impossible, just difficult.

Her hand rose to her head, rubbing her temple with two fingers.

And I can tell that it is going to give me a headache.

"I think they had some at Scarentines but.. not like gambling. I'd imagine with all the.. dice motif and stuff there might be. We'll have to roll away with everyone's seeds.." he smirked toothily, taking her hand and kissing it very comrade-like." After a while Cricket's words about infestation via kissing would vanish from his head. It didn't hurt still to take caution especially since he didn't know if Mei had taken her class before or not.. or at least learned the same things.

The next familiar pair to arrive though had an ensemble that the half beast truly didn't expect. In fact he had to double take to recognize that Seiji actually was Seiji. "Woah... take a lookit them.." he said to Mei in a confused sort of tone. "Wait that's.." he paused then chuckled to himself. His friend certainly looked well dressed but the attire was shockingly different than what everyone else was trotting around in.

Still, he would let them mingle their way in for a while and give Mei all the time she desired to dance with him. It wasn't hard to keep his attention either, Bul was all sorts of giddy and happy that they were out here on the floor and had they practiced any dancing they'd be sure to rock the floor. The boil had remembered to keep his tail mostly down during the evening since there'd be way too many bodies and nice decorations to mow down carelessly.

Bul HAD been practicing at least by himself to coordinate his steps better with such lanky legs. Already he'd mastered a few shuffles to counter any sort of stumbles when partner dancing with Mei.

Finally, Christof had climbed down from the top of the stage after carefully parking his puppet for later, adjusting his hodgepodge of a jacket and hat before scanning the crowds for Shehk. He swallowed thickly, lips pursed. He hoped people had enjoyed the act, he and Barth had spent countless hours- trying to get Barth to agree to help him with the lyrics. Most of the time had been tooth-pulling. The actual production had only taken about fifteen minutes to script, but corralling the sloth was like herding cannoncats.

And then there had been the rehearsals.

And the actual construction of everything.

Undead didn't NEED sleep, strictly, but Christof's Parts, while hearty, often forgot they weren't like a weak human's. He and Barth were both sporting matching rings under their eyes from lack of sleep.

He wobbled, catching sight of Riley through the crowds and perking up as he hurried towards her, removing his fedora politely to twist it between his hands.

Mistress! Mistress we did it and I didn't set fire to the stage like I had theorized! Which is good!

Intercourse moss? Barth had missed out on the Sex Ed class, and had...no idea whatsoever what Riley was talking about. He decided to take it as good-natured neighborly ribbing.

In any case, he leaned over to turn off the mic.

"Hazard of the business," he said, again having difficulty focusing. It was hard to manage banter, escorting, tech stuff, and telepathy when your date was very warm and very near and knew exactly what to do to make you lose focus. "Err, ready when you are."

He somehow managed to escort Lilith dance-floorward.

Hasuko walked along the winding path outside and muttered to herself. "You can do this, you can do this, there's no reason to be scared." The purple and orange lights bordering the walkway glowed dimly in the evening twilight, beautiful and inviting, but the kappa was too focused on her own inner mantra to really notice.

Then it was time. Hasuko stood off to the side, looking apprehensively at the large brown double doors leading into the auditorium. She could hear music, mostly the deep rumbling of the bass beats, vaguely emanating from the doors, becoming louder as students entered and exited the auditorium.

Hasuko fiddled with her dress' long sleeves, nervously smoothing the pink patterned fabric out. "You can do this." she said quietly to herself. "Go out, meet new people, and have fun. Be social." She took a deep breath and then walked through the doors without giving herself further time to think about it.

The music was almost deafening and the strobing lights were definitely disorientating. Hasuko faltered, eyes darting about behind her glasses. There was a large puppet capering about on the stage and all around her were students she didn't know. But that was the point, wasn't it? She was new to Amityville and what better way to meet students than to go to social events such as this?

But she needed a moment to gather her wits, she told herself. And so Hasuko scurried to stand awkwardly next to a large potted plant along the wall. Being a wallflower was fine for now.
