Ez looked left and right nervously before turning around to look for something, or anything rather to give to Kale. She drifted off a little bit in search of something in this town, but everything seemed so..dirty. She literally felt no need to touch the ground even. She eventually smelled something that was actually fresh though. Turning to the scent she saw small shapes of dark blue, very fresh blue berries. She drifted towards the small stand to over look some of the blue berries. Kale never seemed to be picky with food, as long as it was edible and identifyable. She could be wrong though and ate things because he had no other meal. That never seemed to be the case though and he seemed to eat much finer things.
(Eh, I'll edit if needed ^^ ')

When Voit agreed to joining, Kyrell lit up, not expecting it to be so. He actually even prepared another dialog in case Voit would reject the idea and he knew he might, seeing how long the man took to respond. It seemed clear that Voit had different motives but Kyrell didn't care to consult him about it anymore as he raised his hands, holding the scrounged up piece of paper in his hands and crying out loudly, "Yes!"
With his easy victory, Kyrell went to the location swiftly and eagerly, going on with his intent as he said to Voit, "Don't worry about it. It will be like the good old days when we sparred in the training grounds back then. However this time, we get something fruitful out of it, no?"
Knowing Voit wasn't completely reassured yet, he spoke once more in hopes of encouraging him. "Besides, Voit. You of all people have nothing to worry about. You're strong even among knights and if we both put our heads in the game, we could finish this thing and be back before Dema could even guess where we've gone!"
At this moment, it seemed he grew a liking for the woman, seeing as she was simple like him, even back in his youth. And he admired her apparent determination and strong will. She was certainly not the princess he had long wanted to see, but she was far more interesting, in his opinion. And he knew his false hopes would only bring him pain for he literally only sought out to kill the wizard. At most, he would abandon the princess to roam free once he had accomplished his mission. Meet eyes with her, though, is something that not even the king can command him to do for his hopelessness of the princess' hand in marriage was already seeping in deep and only causing him agony.
In this vibrant and eager manner, he stole the attention of the man running the registry for the tournament. "Excuse me!" He said joyfully. "Me and my friend here would like to sign up for the Battle Royale."
Then, with an irritable feeling that nudged him, the blue-eyed blonde turned his eye upon the man that he overtook at the registry. With a hidden sense of trouble hidden in his heart, Kyrell spoke with a kind of determination. "I look forward to battling with you."
[When I saw the parties converging now as I've awoken from my 10-hour sleep.. I was like.... Holy Hell, this doesn't look good. Anyway, the story is getting interesting. I think I laughed when Voit commented on Kyrell's getting hit by a piece of paper then again when Kale got hit by a piece of paper! Will that become a normal thing for Battle Royale posters? Oooh... Sounds like magic. Anyway, I finally looked at Kale's photo and went... $#17, isn't that Fei Long from the yaoi series, Finder? Man, I miss reading the manga. I know, I talk too much so save the scolding. :3 ...Oh, and btw, I'm reading Tolkien so I've noticed my wordings have changed fairly. *facepalm* ]

Looking at the man the disguised Kale's deep steel eyes seemed less like they were looking at Kyrell and more as if they were simply looking past him as if he were not even there. Shifting his weight slightly Kale looked left and right for a moment judging where Ez had gone before his eyes finally seemed to focus on Kyrell. "It won't be much of a match" Kale said turning slightly. "I am only here for my family nothing more" he lied tho it couldn't be detected in his voice as he simply walked away from the man. He didn't even catch his attention as a hero that he would need to try on.
"Ez" Kale called getting away from the group as he stopped by a tree leaning against it as he looked back and forth. "Where is that girl" he muttered feeling a tinge of hunger move thru his body.

Lucian grinned at Dema, flipping out a deck of cards. "Hold these." He handed her a set of five cards. "Look at them." The set had ace, queen, king, jack, and a ten - all of the same suit. In an instant, the ace changed into a two, and Lucian was holding the ace with a broad grin on his face. "Wind magic. Plus, a quiet chant for sight and control of a nearby bug. Thus. Guaranteed win." He smiled at her easily.

Dema applauded after handing Lucian back his cards. She gave an impish smirk, eager to begin their games. "Excellent. Looks like we're going to make some easy money. So long as neither of us are caught, of course..."

Brigs frowned, "What happened to honest to goodness labor like picking crops in return half the profits of the sales? I swear, City folk are getting stranger and stranger every year. But then again I have no room to talk, 3,000 lives depend on me and all of them call me crazy...." He said this as he followed.

"If you don't like it, if you don't mind my saying, you don't have to accompany us through this tidbit." Dema pointed out with a bored gaze at Brigs. "Heroics are hard work, and without proper equipment, we'll die for sure. This is the faster way to make the money we need so we can better prepare for what comes ahead, that way, we don't die and doom thousands of lives simply because we were wreckless or took too much time."

"Besides. It's more fun this way." Lucian added easily, not realizing that he was probably making things worse by suggesting that. His eyes busied, looking for a building that looked like it could be host to a game. He stashed away his deck in his bag, watching around them warily. He didn't need to be pick-pocketed, not with the amount of gold he constantly carried.

Several smells permeated the air and all of them worthy of causing salivation. The smells of roasted and perfectly seasoned boar, whole sides of medium well done beef, ribs, noodle soup with diced vegetables and smoked chicken, seven vegetable stew, grilled fish, and even venison chili floated through the air to the noses of Dema, Lucian, and Brigs. The smell was coming from a stage coach made street side eatery.
Brigs sniffed the air and licked his lips. "You smell that?"

Ez was busy gathering a bit of fruit, she saught fresh as she snuck from some stands behind the keeper's back. She went through the crowds quickly looking casual a bit until she felt something grab her wrist. She turned with a suspicoius smile "Eh?" and saw it was one of the fruit stand men and he looked pretty pissed. "Bye bye" she muttered, and before dissapearing in the bright blow of the crowd she gave a quick jab between his eyes with her knuckles. She appeared behind Kale once more eating on some berries "Did you call me or did I imagine that?" she questioned him. She would often imagine it, so it wasn't that odd of her. She held out the more fresh berries towards him, a small sack "Look, it's clean!" she declared happily, because it was just amazing that there was something clean in this town.

Dema nodded slightly. "I do, but it'd be better to get the money before we start spending what we have." She really wanted to get to the gambling, especially since rigged gambling meant money. Money meant better equipment, nicer food, and more respect. That all meant they could get the hell out of here and move on.

"Smell what? All I smell is meat?" Lucian asked aloud, walking along. As a vegetarian, he didn't like that scent at all. In fact, it made him sick to his stomach. Still, he walked along, ignoring it except for his confused comment. His eyes continued to watch for a bar, or something.

Brigs followed his nose to the eatery and looked at the sign. He shouted back, "Seven vegetable soup sound good? There's no meat in it." Then as he continued to read the sign he shouted, "Apparently this place doesn't sell meals. They trade for them. Looks like they only trade the food for metal objects."

The taller male smiled sweetly at his friend's excitement. It was always nice to see a smile on the face of a friend. He almost had to rush to keep up with Kyrell though, with the speed at which the man was walking towards the location for registry. He still continued to persuade the hesitant knight as they quickly arrived at their location, Voit standing loyally beside his friend. He felt better when Kyrell mentioned it was just like the sparring they used to do when they where younger, but he frowned at the 'fruitfulness'.
Kyrell suspected his hesitancy and tried encouraging the man once more. Voit actually felt his cheeks grow hot in a blush of embarrassment at being complimented. (Not like he got completed on his skill in fighting a lot when he fought with Lucian over trivial matters.) At the mention of Dema though, Voit trailed off into his own thoughts. He certainly recognized her and the brains and leader of their rag tag group, so he would do anything to make her happy. Right now, money would certainly make her and Lucian happy to have on their journey. Also, Dema said they should make a name for themselves...
So with a sigh, Voit ran a hand through his dark hair and smiled brightly. If it helped make his companions happy, he'd be more then glad. Besides, Kyrell was so enthusiastic. They where one step closer to rescuing the princess this way! Though..Voit didn't think that Kyrell provoking fights before the battle was very smart. The lanky male looked between the two men, and as soon as the stranger left, he put a hand on Kyrell's shoulder. For the first time in a while since Voit had been out of combat, his personality flipped. Usually when he wasn't fighting, the man was carefree and happy, but the second he drew his sword, there was a completely different Voit. Only a few knights and his current companions saw this side of him though.
He looked Kyrell in the eye and spoke softly. "We must be wary of that man. Don't underestimate him. I have a bad feeling about him..." Voit whispered, staying on guard despite his usual demeanor.
(( yay voit brings ironic laughter ;D~ but right now he's all serious o-o ))

"Again, Lucian and I need to save our gold for our upcoming 'business'. We'll come back once we're through, if we happen to be hungry." Dema called out, soon spotting a shady tavern that most likely had one of the gambling rings within. She grinned ever so broadly at Lucian. "You ready to earn some cash?"
