Things were definitely getting out of hand, Paelor decided. He probably could make up a convincing story, and continue making up the rules. He could get this overgrown colt so turned around that he wouldn’t even realize he didn’t know how the game was properly played. But where was the fun in that? Aside from cheating the fellow out of everything he owned. Eh, Aydan didn’t look like he owned much, anyway. In fact, from everything Paelor had heard, it sounded like this Sonja mare was the one who held the power in the relationship. Aydan was clearly whipped. Perhaps it was time to cut his losses and move on to fatter prey…er… more capable playmates.
“Ah might not be th’ best ta teac’ it ta ya,” Paelor murmured thoughtfully. “After all, Ah’ve never really ‘ad ta teac’ th’ game ta anyone. Per’aps yeh s’ould talk ta another imp. T’at mig’t be best. Yea’, t’at definitely would be best,” he nodded as if they had come to an agreement.

Of course he wouldn’t know any other imps. If he did, then Paelor couldn’t possibly get away with half the things he was pulling over this fellow’s head. “Mehbe Ah could introduce yeh to some. Or send some to ya for yeh to meet? ‘Ow long are yeh gonna be in t’is area?”

“Well, in t’at case, Ah’m pretty sure yeh’ll run into some before too long. Us Imps are all over th’ place, especially since we came to t’is land. And it’s a pretty lovely land yeh ‘ave, too. Any advice for w’ere we s’ould avoid w’ile traveling? Ah personally don’t like swamps, but Ah know th’ Nixies love watery places and some of ‘em are fond of swampy areas.”

Aydan cringed, "I would Highly recommend avoiding the swamps. Some of the wildlife in the mountains can also be a bit...inhospitable."

“Mountains?” Cold, rocky places without many creatures that he could…er… play with. He didn’t think such places would be particularly interesting anyway. But still, he’d give this fellow a benefit of the doubt. “W’at kinda critters are we talkin’ about?”

Rams, really? That was what he was so concerned about? “Big rams?” he asked, trying hard not to seem too much like he doubted this was a real threat. After all, rams might have territory issues, but they weren’t that bright. At least, the ones where Paelor was from weren’t. In fact, it was almost amusing to pull pranks on them, until it got too boring. Then again, all the creatures of this land seemed to be a good deal bigger than what Paelor was used to. Maybe the rams were, too.
