His sensitive ears caught the sound of her snort, and his ears went flat against his skull. “Are you disturbed, bat?” he asked, flatly. “Bored, perhaps? Contemplating the futility of this union that you proposed?” he certainly was, so if she had any intelligence at all, which was admittedly doubtful, she would be as well. He was chasing his mental tail on this problem and simply coming up dizzy. He didn’t like being dizzy for any reason. It didn’t unsettle him, because one such as he couldn’t possibly be unsettled. It didn’t even make him uncomfortable, for the same reason. But he still didn’t like it.

"At the moment," she growled, stretching her wings and disturbing the gathering raindrops so they fell to the ground below. "I am much more annoyed with this rain. I do not care for my coat to get waterlogged..." She narrowed her eyes and stared into the distance trying to find some form of shelter.

"A show of intelligence, how refreshing," he drawled, seeming bored. "You don't. However, think on this, bat. I could snack on you, as you put it, whenever I choose. If I have not yet, then perhaps I have my reasons." Which he still hadn't figured out yet.

"Chief among them the fact that I can fly and use that height to my advantage," she retorted sharply. Still, she really hated being wet...and maybe the ground would be just a bit dryer. And while she was down there she could amuse herself with visions of a skinwalker pelt keeping her warm. That might almost make it fun. "Just remember, Spotty - if you try anything I can fly away and I can track you right back..."

Her face flashed a scowl as she landed, barbed tail flicking in warning. "Nice to see we understand each other so well..." She pawed impatiently at the ground, trying to determine which space would be more comfortable for sleep and allow her the best advantage if she had to move quickly for...any reason at all. All the while the accursed rain fell from the sky - making a muddy mess of the ground around them. She was going to require a nice long soak after this.
