Outside – Whatever you say Couch “Aye Aye captain,” there was a tone of playful tranquility to his voice as he leaned back on his elbows on the bleachers after she’d given him the two-by-two marching orders.
Had he seen the commercials? How could he have not? They were all over the place interrupting perfectly good shows. And it wasn’t even like they were amusing. In fact, they were down right rude. Besides…it wasn’t like most mutants who knew they were mutants went out and impregnated highly impressionable young females for fun. Usually.
No, for some reason mutant sperm ended up being a harder thing to get. Maybe it was because mutant girls ended up more fun…or the fact that normal girls’ parents liked to chase out mutant boys with the proverbial pitch fork. In fact, he had half a mind to be upset about mutant girls getting pregnant with regular human sperm! Well…that would be fair wouldn’t it?
’News at 11, Mutant woman gives birth to human child! …I can see it now.’
But it seemed that after a few playful words (he had a feeling he was going to like this team leader), the meeting really seemed to be over. Even more oven then when he’d walked in. At least he didn’t get bitched out for coming in late…thankfully he hadn’t been put on the Omegas. He was sure that the queen b***h by the name of Narcissa wouldn’t have been nearly as playful. It was kind of hard to miss all the “nice” things that had been said about her since the time he even started the school.
Brayden turned to look at two of the leaving girls who were leaving the bleacher area (Bianca and Reggie). Apparently they were going to go get some food…well, seemed the perfect time to work on some of that “homework” that Bella had assigned him.
“Hey, can I barge in for this lunch date?” Brayden asked as he stood up and moved off of the assembly line and caught up with Bianca and Reggie.
After all, it was never fun to eat alone. And sitting besides two girls always had a sweet ring to it. Which reminded him…Brayden made a mental note to stop secreting the aromatic moisture. So the two girls might have gotten a whiff of something pleasant but it would be soon to die out as soon as he wiped it off or it completely evaporated and there was none left.
“Unless this was going to be a private meeting?” He kept in step with the two girls just as easily as breathing, four inch difference in height allowed him for a slightly longer step length.

Omega: Student Lounge // Cafeteria - Mingling Kerri smiled at Christian as he approached their group of new blood, asking if they were being broken in. Megan was quick to invite him along with them to the Cafeteria, Orchid telling them to lead the way. The redhead was only too happy to oblige - she hadn't eaten since breakfast and since her workout her stomach was starting to growl. Clearing her throat, she laughed slightly as Megan mentioned she was good at woodworking, one glance down at the girl's nails enough explanation as to why that would be the case. However, there were more pressing issues at hand. " Hey, Christian, you should totally join us. You can help me explain to the ladies what the deal really is with the Omegas. Gossip and all," she said with a grin, motioning with a swoop of her hair for them to follow her towards the cafeteria. Megan reached to get her purse, mentioning something about breaking a nail. Kerrigan have the girl a sympathetic look, though she said nothing. What was there to say? Hopefully it would be easily fixable - she could understand how something like that would be a problem considering what she'd read about the girl's powers. If she could think of anything to do to help, of course she could voice her suggestions when they came to her. Right now she was too hungry to do anything but get their butts moving towards the already prepared food. It was a relatively uneventful walk full of the typical "getting to know you" small talk that would likely predominate much of the conversation over lunch. All Kerri knew was that she wanted some food in her belly and she wanted it now. Of course, walking in to see the cafeteria predominantly filled with Alphas wasn't necessarily a surprise - it seemed the majority of the Omegas liked to cook their own food and would hang out in the kitchen. Just another instance of segregation between the two teams. Waiting through line and grabbing a slice of pizza, a side salad and a bowl of jell-o, she waited until everyone else had their food, taking a seat at the table next to another one of their own - Daylia. Kerrigan smiled at her fellow Omega redhead, motioning for the girl to join them if she was up for it. Either way, it would at least merit an introduction to the rest of the new members. Of course, that would happen after she finished stuffing her face. Taking a bite from her pizza, she let out a soft moan as she chewed and swallowed, a contented sigh escaping her when she had the first bite down. " Man, I was hungry," she breathed out with a slight laugh, looking around the table at her teammates. " So…since Cissa is no longer around and the implicit moratorium on questions is lifted, is there anything you guys want to know about the Omegas, or being on one of the more active teams? I've been around the block for awhile, so I'd be happy to fill you guys in on whatever you want to know," she spoke politely, taking another bite of pizza as her green eyes moved from one person to the next, inviting them to speak. She knew that her best friend could be an intimidating woman - the least Kerri could do was try to ease their transition as smoothly as humanly possible.

Name: Leonardo "Renaissance Man" Rossi Team: Alphas Location: Music Room with Aurelie So What... Are You Mormon Or Something? Aurelie seemed a bit bitter about Danger Room sessions… perhaps this class clown of hers wasn’t the best teammate to be with when they were training. Maybe Scott drilled them harder than he did with normal students… but then again, Leonardo understood Aurelie’s pain. Leonardo’s S.H.I.E.L.D. handler would make him train and train and train until his hands and feet were raw and covered with blisters. The change of setting from government agency to quiet school seemed right for him, even if the young animal mimic was a bit restless within the walls of the Academy. He was born to fight the bad guys, to get out there and save the world, so to speak. Leo was a man of action, and being stuck at a mansion and learning wasn’t exactly his style, but it would have to be for the next few years.
“Don’t stress about the training sessions,” Leonardo assured her, “We’ll probably be more acquainted with the others before being thrust into the Danger Room to run a simulation. If anything we could get each other’s powers and codenames memorized to the point where we know what to expect.” At least, he hoped so. His mind worked at a hundred miles an hour when he had tactical information about his teammates to work with. Of course, his mind had already gone into overdrive when he heard that Aurelie was a telekinetic, so he knew he would be fine training with her.
She made a comment about avoiding Dimitri… that was a good thing. From what Leonardo could tell about last night and the evidence tossed around the room… he wouldn’t want any sort of respectable woman near the womanizer. Then Aurelie mentioned something about how she probably wouldn’t draw Dimitri’s attention in the first place, stating about how she wasn’t usually a center of attention for most boys she interacted with. Leonardo found that very hard to believe; he didn’t think of her as ‘rigid’ like she described. She was musical, lively even. If anything, Leonardo was probably the most rigid student at the Academy; he rarely ever thought of anything in terms of a social life. Sure, he had his piano hobby, but as he stated he had all but abandoned it years ago. Leo wanted to make a comment about how her statement wasn’t true… but he felt it would cause the situation to become even more awkward.
Luckily she hadn’t noticed that he had been to physical therapy, and for this Leo was thankful. Directly after they returned to the mansion from Halloween Town, he started to have chronic pain in his left leg and hand. Beast explained that it was his body’s way of adapting to the residual changes that had been left by the vampire transformation. Either way, it was tough to get rid of at first. He had walked with a heavy limp for the first week, and it was difficult to pick up anything with his left hand. The therapy had helped to the point where only his wrist clicked when he moved it in funny directions. At the mention of his injuries, Leo subconsciously moved his hand in a circular motion, rapid, muffled clicks emanating from the wrist. “I would hope not,” Leo chuckled slightly, “or else Beast and I would have to have another session.”
Leo took in a quick surprised breath as Bella’s voice filled his ears, coming from seemingly nowhere. There went Leonardo’s thoughts of a safe place to talk. He made a mental note to himself to never speak of anything private while in the vicinity of the mansion. Although Bella was more than likely blocking most of what people said around the house, he wouldn’t be surprised if things leaked in every once in awhile. Once his breath stabilized and his heart rate returned to normal, Leonardo shook his head and playfully twisted his finger in his ear, as if trying to dispose of a bug in his ear canal. “That freaks me the hell out… sometimes even more than telepathics…” he muttered. “That’s why I try not to get super-hearing from moths… I don’t want to know things I’m not supposed to know.”
Leonardo inspected the button that Aurelie showed him out of curiosity. Again, something that Leo didn’t have: a collection hobby. Well, now that he thought about it, one could point out that he collected insects and various animals, but that was for the practicality of his ability, not for hobby. The personal information that Aurelie shared with him was interesting, to say the least. Apparently the telekinetic lived in a community where she wasn’t allowed to have buttons on clothing… now what did that mean? Leonardo’s mind already went on a mental search of strange and unusual American cultures he knew of that would ban certain articles of clothing. There were Mormons… was she Mormon? Well, she was blonde haired and blue eyed… but something told Leo that she wasn’t raised in a Mormon setting. From what he knew, most of the polygamist cults and isolated settlements displayed in the media were myths… most of them. Who else were blonde haired and blue eyed? Aurelie mentioned something earlier of understanding if one assumed she had the appearance of a German. There it was: German. Who were of German descent and didn’t allow certain things that were mainstream in America? If Leonardo remembered history right, original German settlers resided in Pennsylvania… and that meant… Amish. So she was Amish, maybe? Perhaps not, but Leonardo decided to give it a shot.
“So… you were Amish, then?” he asked, hoping to learn more of her mysterious hobby and why she collected buttons.
((OOC: It's okay, haha.))

Omega, Location: Kitchen Perhaps I should’ve gone with Spanish-style cooking…
Roland kept at his work in the kitchen, his hands deftly moving about the counter moving ingredients onto the meat, into the pot, stirring, chopping, tossing, and even boiling the pasta. Roland had been working for a long time, he even started early for the purpose of getting it done since he knew the dish takes forever to make. The time he spent on this Roland soon thought to himself, probably could have been applied to more productive areas.
I should have just done Spanish cooking. he thought to himself, It’s shorter, plus the dishes would be smaller. Nothing like a selection of taps huh?
As Leonin responded to Jacen’s question about how himself and Leonin can cook, Roland realized that he was still there. He’d been so focused on doing this he’d forgotten Jacen hadn’t left the kitchen.
Roland looked over at him, "Cooking can be simple, like scrambling an egg. Or complex, like what I'm doing right here. It's all a matter of what you prefer in terms of challenge." He marked in his mental notebook that Jacen seemed to be, not in the polite way of insulting someone of course, simple. Simple in needs, simple in pleasures. He appeared to be the type that could enjoy the world without having anything in his mind muck it up.
"I personally do this as a form of therapy." Roland continued, noting Leonin taking his leave, "It's a way for me to calm my nutty little mind. I don't know what exactly does it, but cooking is something that just pleases and intrigues me. And the more complicated, the more pleasure and enjoyment I get out of it. I will have to thank Dr. McCoy for getting me started in this."
As he placed the first portions of the completed food into a container, he placed some on plate, and put a fork in it, "If you want, you're welcome to try some." Roland thought it to be a friendly thing to do, and thought for the sake of experimentation, why not?

Omega – In the words of my Uncle…If the academy was a church, Leion’s dissertation on newbies being general dillholes would have gotten a ‘amen’ and maybe a ‘hallelujah’ to boot. “Guess we’ll meet ‘em all eventually.” He said, before both Leion and Roland’s explanations on cooking were given. Neither one really helped explain, but then again Jacen didn’t really care for the answer. He wasn’t aspiring to be a sous chef or anything. Leion’s departure was met with a wave and mock salute, and just like that, there were two. Roland’s use of Jacen as taste-tester was probably not the most representative sampling for palettes in the academy. Whatever a picky eater was, Jacen was pretty much the exact opposite. He could, and would eat anything, normally with question after it was being digested. You know those eggs they eat in New Guinea with unhatched ducks in them? Delicious. “Thanks Roland.” Jacen gripped the fork like a caveman, stabbing it into the unnamed meat part of the meal placed infront of him and taking a sizeable bite. He sat on the counter Indian-style with the plate in his hand, chewing (Mouth closed for once) pensively. “Ooh, bacony~” Jacen said, seal of approval firmly affixed with two words. “Heh, calming the mind can never just be simple huh?” Back home, he was called toa vale, idiot warrior, by his teachers for his lack of focus. Looks like they had that in common. Then again, his lack of focus wasn’t caused by insatiable bloodlust, so…

Scorch Robert Mason Jr.
Alpha - Team Library - Location More introductions - Currently Robert was caught by surprise when a stack of books hit the table. He had been listening out for what he assumed would be the inevitable backlash from his comments that everything else in the library had faded into a blur. At least, until Raine sat down at his table and introduced herself. He waved off her thanks as if to say it was nothing, because he honestly hadn't put that much thought into it. After all, if he had, he probably would have remained quite and stayed out of it. "No worries," he said as he looked up from his book. By that time, a second person had sat down at the table, introducing himself as Varis O'Hara.
"Robert. Or Rob, which ever." This was one of those moments where Rob felt that he had a really boring name. But at least he was surrounded by Alpha's now, so he'd have some back up should his lack of forethought get him in trouble... hopefully. "But yeah, I'm one of the new Alpha's. Apparently I underestimated just how many were... Recruited?" he finished, not sure if that was the right word, as he looked towards Varis.
"So there is a rivalry, thought there would be but..." For once his actions were laced with tact, and he lowered the volume of his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "I kinda thought she was just, you know, a b***h." The grimace on his face showed clearly just how honest he was being.

Team Alpha's Winter WolfLocation-Library with the other Alphas Varis as Robert introduced himself. "I was sent her by my parents because I kept..." Pausing due to a rare attempt at tact not wanting the rivals to know his true powers and he lowered his voice to match Robert's whisper. "Giving people the cold shoulder." He smiled and nodded to the young man in front of him.
Varis nodded the Omega leader who he had made sure was in front of him so she could him. "Anyone know her power? I want to tell the up tight belittling slut off without risking my own arse." He said smiling as he thought of what he was going to say to her should he get the chance.

Alpha - Cafeteria // Game Room - She noticed, out of the corner of his eye, that Dimitri was checking out some of the girls that just came in, a grin tugging at the corners of her perfectly glossed lips. It didn't bother her - though if he thought it did she wouldn't correct him. As a matter of fact, she caught her attention falling on those filling the cafeteria as well, looking for new faces. They had just pulled up a bunch of students from the lower teams - maybe that meant that they were going to be sent out on a new mission soon. Tara suppressed a grin when he asked if she wanted to go do something, mentioning the game room, tennis or watching TV. Either he was just as bored, or he didn't want to let her go off and do her own thing. Not finding anyone in her contacts list that would be more entertaining than her current company, the brunette gave a small shrug, tucking her phone back into her bag as she sat up once more. " Sure, except I don't play tennis," she said simply, glancing at him as she stood and slung her bag over her shoulder. At least he was good at picking up hints. Picking up her tray to dispose of her trash, Tara walked away from the table and placed her tray in the appropriate stack, before turning with her arms crossed over her chest. He assured her that this was not a date, a smile cracking across her features as she shook her head, tousling her loose curls so they fell about her face. " Oh, I don't think anyone would mistake this for a date, so no worries there. But paying me to be your friend? I'm beginning to think that all this bravado is an act to cover up some deep-rooted self worth issues," she said with a slight chuckle, falling into step next to him as they headed out of the cafeteria and into the hallways once more. She lead the two towards the game room, hoping there would be something to occupy her time until Roland's dinner. She was going to have to work out twice as hard tomorrow after eating french food, notorious for cheese and butter, but it should be pretty good. At least she had that to look forward to. The two eventually made it to their destination, Tara taking a seat at one of the tables motioning to the shelves of different games around them with a broad grin as she looked at Dimitri. " So, what's your poison? Scrabble? Poker? Life? Or are you more of a Parcheesi kind of guy," she asking in an amused tone, waiting for him to choose a game for them to play.

Alpha - Library - Introductions It was sweet how he waved off her thanks as if he did nothing, Raine having a feeling that he wouldn't accept her appreciation that easily. He finally looked up from his book, introducing himself when Varis spoke his name as well. The lightning bug made sure to commit their named to memory, smiling even more brightly when he confirmed that he was one of the new Alphas. " Well, Robert, Varis, I'm pleased to meet you both and glad to hear that you're on the Alphas. That means we're on the same team, in case that wasn't clear enough. And I think they brought so many of you guys up from the other teams because we've been finding ourselves in hot water lately. Lord knows we can always use new faces and new powers in the field," she said in a pleasant tone, leaning forward as Robert dropped his voice when talking about the rivalry. It seemed that the Alpha-Omega rivalry was growing more and more infamous, not that she could blame the rumors. Between Cissa's antics and the situations they always found themselves in, she was surprised that the rumors weren't bordering on the insane but were instead sticking pretty true to life. Robert's contention that Cissa's behavior was attributed to her being a b***h as opposed to the rivalry made her laugh, a light laugh that brightened her features. It was refreshing to be around someone that wasn't completely immobilized in fear by the Omega leader. Lowering her voice as well, her hazel eyes travelled between the two boys, making sure to include them both in the conversation. " Oh, she is - don't mistake me. But there is a rivalry. Just remember that it probably isn't you that she hates, it's the team you're on." She realized, as the words came out of her mouth, how little comfort they provided. They couldn't help that they were Alphas - the teams were assigned to them. But hopefully they would soon realize that some of the absolute nicest people in the entire Academy were now their peers. From their conversations, she gathered that Varis had some sort of cooling or ice ability - she still had no idea what Rob's powers were, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be too long before she found out. Things never stayed quiet around here for long, though her eyes widened slightly when Varis asked what Cissa's powers were because he wanted to tell her off. " Umm…look, I'm all for asserting yourself and everything, but I'd try to stay off her radar. Cissa is basically a human solar flare. I've seen her completely incinerate a person in the blink of an eye. Not to mention, any trouble we get into gets Bella in trouble." He rewords were meant to be cautionary, though she couldn't stop him is he insisted on attempting to tear Cissa a new one.

Team: Alpha's Winter WolfLocation: Library with the other Alphas Varis listened intently as Raine spoke and explained the different factors going into the Omega's leader being a b***h. "She does realize that as I master my powers I maybe able to tame that solar flare in human form right?" He chuckled as he spoke and then leaned back shaking his head. "Well I doubt X would allow her to do that to one of us without tearing apart her mind." He chuckled again his chuckles even had his thick Irish accent to them, his accent was unmistakable yet his body and and skin tone were clearly Native American.
Varis leaned back in his chair and puts his feet up on the table as he pushed the front two legs of the chair he was sitting on holding himself steady simply by using his feet on the table to balance himself easily. He watched the obvious cliques in the Library one lead by a b***h and he didn't know who his leader was beyond her name being Bella.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The starry eyes fade as it dawns on you, Nothing is guaranteed You are a part of the great divide, the chosen, or the frozen

Him being tired from waking up so many hours ago was starting to show, but it was nothing to worry about. He walked out the dining hall and down the halls. Now he would probably n** everything in the bud and just talk to some people. It didn't hurt to talk to his team mates. After all, they were on his team. The question was if he could recall where they said they were going to be at or if they had said anything at all. He would retrace his own step in his own method and hope for the best. He walked outside of the school. He had a curious mind and to add to it, he didn't ever finish checking out his surroundings.
He walked out on the grounds to examine the outside better. He wanted to know the school for every exact detail. The defenses that hid as regular ornaments for lawns to seeing how durable the fences were. He probably was getting tired of hearing himself ramble on and on in his head about him needing to check everything near him for to satisfy his own case of paranoia and curiosity. After noticing everything there was to see out there, he noticed someone under the tree looking up into the sun. Another inference he kept to himself was that the boy had to be an Omega. He didn't understand why there two teams fully. The way he saw it, they both were fighting towards the same goal only one had this edge to them the other didn't. He was still learning, so he never said anything out loud that would be passed off as some question typically asked by newbies.
With that he was going to try and recall every door he entered in and out of so he could go back to the library in his own unique method though. He thought of it as training yet at the same time making observations. He was planning to scale the walls to the school and go from there. "Everything is amazing when you see the view in... Team Alpha's Moonlight Name: Tsukino Kazuki Ability: Barrier Creation Location: Library Thoughts: Gotta find a book and release this melody in my head.I should talk to the Alphas over there...
Tsukino quickly finished the rest of her food as more people began to enter the kitchen. She threw the container she had used for her sushi in the trash as she made her way out of the kitchen. She walked down the hall and around the corner to get to the Library. She was going to see if she could find a good book on feudal japan or maybe even a romance novel. She smiled at the thought and began to hum softly to herself the song take me or leave me from the movie rent. The glee cast members did a cover for the song which was really good.Tsukino wanted to sing the song with someone since it was a duet, but unfortunatley she didnt know anyone who could sing or had time.Tsukino knew Bella could probably do it with her but Tsukino would need to work the song out on her own first before she asked someone else to sing it with her.She kept humming as she came upon the refrain of the song before flowing into the vamp. She was at the entrance of the library.
As she entered she was immediately worried since the Omega leader,Narcissa, was currently there with other omegas. She quickly went behind a bookshelf to find a book. She looked through the Ancient history section for somthing that would interest her but she was having trouble. Then she stumbled upon a book titled,'Inahime:Tale of the Bow Princess'.Tsukino smiled as she lifted the book to read the summary. She them looked around the shelf to see the omegas still sitting there. She had to have more confidence in herself or else nobody would respect her.She walked confidently over to the table of Alphas(Rob,Varis,Raine),hoping not to trip in her high heels as she did.She stood in front of the small group and spoke softly yet confidently."Excuse me,May I sit here?"She asked politely. Her asian accent was coming through slightly, and hoped they were able to understand her.Mr. Wagner aka Nightcrawler said her english was impressive but she still spoke with a accent every now and then. She then remebered that it was ruder of her not to introduce herself to the group before asking her question."Im Tsukino by the way."She said sweetly with a soft smile to all of them.

█ █ █ - - - A u r e l i e - N i s s l e y xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx[ A L P H A ] _______________ ;xxxxxxxxxxxxone who never chose a path, now is writing the future.[ T e l e k i n e t i c ] ;Leo could have probably seen her relax just a little visibly when he told her not to worry so much about training sessions. “Hopefully. She agreed, thinking back on her first danger room session with the Corsairs... she'd not really known anything then, but had just been thrown into the mix; Scott's reasoning that on the X-men in emergencies, they'd not all know each other's powers... so they'd better get used to it.. Aurelie gave way to a small chuckle and shook her head just slightly. “I feel like he should have given me a study guide.” Or some warning... that would have been nice.
Luckily, he didn't object to her reasoning about why she wouldn't snare Dimitri's interest. At Julliard, she'd been much to focused on her ending goal to get too serious with anyone.. and the academy hadn't provided any evidence of her statement being false. And if there had been, she'd not been paying close enough attention. Unless, that Dimitri fellow was a skirt chasing lech that went after everything, she doubted that she'd catch his interest.
Her eyes followed the small circles he made with his wrists, and only glanced up from the habit so that she could beam at his mention of Beast. “I'm sure he's very proud of the results.” But it did leave to wonder... just how many of the students had gotten injured during their last “adventure” if he was still undergoing physical therapy. “How many others were alongside you for that?” She asked, trying to gauge just how much she should brace herself for.
Aurelie only nodded to Leo when he remarked that Bella's trick left him unnerved, not wanting to upset the woman if she was still listening. “I'd imagine that I'd be beating my head against the wall if I had to hear a constant buzzing inside of my head.” She admitted quietly. At the mention of moth super senses, her blue eyes deepened in color. “How many times have you had to copy that particular trait, if I can ask?” Not that she meant to pry, but she certainly was curios about the man who'd been nothing but hospitable to her.
And as inquisitive as she was about him, he was to her. Leo appeared as though he were truly interested in everything she had to say, which was flattering to say the least. And surprisingly, he didn't tease her about the button collection – so many had, that she expected some sort of jibe about the oddity in her personality. Instead, he started trying to root out on his own why she wasn't allowed so much, and eventually came to the right conclusion. Honestly, the fact that he had impressed her, and caused her features to lift with a soft laughter. “Yeah actually... and past tense is definitely correct on that.” Obviously, considering her mother would likely faint if she saw her in this clothing. “I've not been a part of the community in years... but even if I'd lasted to rumspringa, my love for dance and piano would have pulled me from Elkhart the instant I was of age.” Had she said dance? s**t. She was just full of slips today, wasn't she?
So long as he didn't ask her to display what form, or why she didn't any more they'd be alright. “Luckily, my older sister had abandoned the simple, religious sect for a lavish life in New York.” But her family had made it very lucid that she'd not be welcome to darken their doorstep again. Aurelie didn't go much into that – mostly everyone here had a tragedy as to why they enrolled, and she'd not expect them to treat her any differently than that.

Omega Ability: Psychic Laceration Location: Library- Danger zoooone. One shining, albeit fleeting moment, wherein Dominik thought…truly believed that he might trounce leisurely over the threshold between Library and freedom. Raine had pitched the idea of tutoring them, and while Dom was appreciative of the offer, fresh air and sunlight seemed far preferable to more listless ventures towards his studies; getting Aren to finish his work would be enough of a challenge for the poor girl anyway.
”Well, I’ll leave you to it.” His tone was jovial if not slightly chiding; a light hearted jab at the friend who had so many reasons now to stay and hover lethargically over his government textbook. But hey, at least he’d have a pretty girl to keep him company—were Dominik not so focused on his own endeavors, he might have halted to comfort his friend with the realization. As it was…he was far too busy getting the <********> out of dodge before, god forbid-
-Before that tell-tale clacking of heels against flooring accosted his hearing. The Slovene had taken no more than three steps from the scene, granted himself no more than a few moments to let himself wonder fleetingly about just why there were so many students willingly crowding the library during Spring Break…and then, he heard it.
No, <********> no. Already, the sandy haired man willed his head to whip in various directions, eyes scouring for escape routes which wouldn’t put him directly in Narcissa’s path. But the sounds and subsequent sight of her -a tiny conglomerate of sass, blond and terror- cut through the mulling like one of his own mental blades might score flesh, and with a few choice curse words in his native tongue, Dom turned back to the table.
In the closest thing to a huff which his often stalwart disposition would allow, the young man slid back into his seat, eyes finding Aren so he’d see the grudging lilt they had acquired; he’d been too wrapped up in his escape plan to notice Aren earlier informing Cissa about his grades—but he knew better than to expect anything else from him.”This is definitely your fault. And to think, I was going to bring you a bag of Doritos later…” Dom sighed, cradling his cheek unenthusiastically against his palm and sliding the native american a deadpan look, ”And you can forget about my paying for your education now.”
’Run Raine, run’ Being the only other thought he could conjecture before the arrival of his team leader, and one he could only emphasize through a somewhat apologetic looks towards her; no doubt, she was about to be subject to the team leader’s usual brand of Alpha-themed hatred. Time to set phasers to ignore…at least, that had been the plan. It was a little harder to implement once the blonde had dropped herself so casually into his goddamn lap. <********. My. Life.’
”*H-hej-“ ‘Use your words, Dom- you know, the ones that other people are capable of understanding’ ”Personal space…” The latter bit emerged as little more than a murmur, coupled silently with the realization that his complaints wouldn’t make much of a difference now. Instead he opted to follow the statement up with a flat, if not marginally amused, ”Comfy?”
Narcissa opted to turn her face towards him, marring the already loose proximity between them, and demand answers as to why his grades were slipping. For which there were so many reasons, albeit he wagered that none would be satisfactory for her…most of them involved apathy. ”I have a migraine.” He offered, the tone casual despite the encounter being anything but, ”And a trust fund…” Okay, that was a lie—he had an inheritance, but saying so wasn’t really conducive to avoiding questions about his family. So a trust fund, it was. ’A la Gasper’, if anyone cared enough to inquire.
”I don’t know…vicodin and a gambling binge?” Probably a bit too cheeky since he was almost in the literal hot seat, but the quip left him before he could think better of it. Ah, well—there were healers in the building that could mend a few third-degree burns…right? Those thoughts became much less lucid when she leaned in closer, though, as if she might follow her statement up with a kiss. The Slovene’s eyebrows crawled upwards towards his scalp, and for a brief moment he wondered if he’d pull back, were that a possibility (the chair sort of made that difficult)…but, nah; Dominik was practical, cautious…but not gay.
”Tease.” He said lightly, grappling for an expression which wouldn’t hint at how flustered he was. Still, something in him relaxed when she pulled away with that sultry laugh; a sigh he’d not even realized he’d been holding in escaping him, and a very subtle amount of rouge dappling his cheeks. Damnit; she’d succeeded in putting him miles out of his comfort zone, and were he of any other sort of disposition, he might now take the opportunity to squirm away from her grasp. But stubbornness kept him grounded, his expression fairly cool (albeit mixes of aggravation and amusement kept leaking through the guise every so often), one eyebrow crawling higher than the other when she leaned in and started talking about her day.
This was so ******** bizarre, and the look Dom expressed to Aren displayed that sentiment plainly—only then did he notice that Raine had at some point taken leave to another table, as well as a young man who had only briefly introduced himself. Such a wonder, the things that one could miss when a scary little blonde was sitting in their lap.
Something did capture his interest though, the young man turning eye to Cissa again, ”Someone tried to blackmail you?” Who in their right god-damned mind would attempt something as dangerous as that? The Slovenian’s curiosity on the matter was legitimate, but for the time being the woman apparently wasn’t going to permit a change of subject—god damn it, the ******** grades again. Dominik’s jaw clenched slightly when the woman touched his cheek, head falling back in a gesture made to look like mock defeat, ”Alright, I get it already…” A pause; Dom looked at her again, pensive, ”Exactly how well do I have to do to keep you from flambéing me?” Because all real threats of being dropped from the team, and genuine annoyance aside…there really was no reason to do more than what was absolutely necessary, was there? Passing by the skin of his teeth was still passing.
As Narcissa leaned into him again, it registered with the man that…somewhere, through the haze of poor grades and the invasion of his ‘bubble’, a few people from the other table had thrown insults at the Omega Leader. ******** wouldn’t give two shits were the potential nuclear meltdown not currently using him as a chair. ”Cissa, If you’re going to incinerate someone…” Dominik sighed, the countenance he wore now genuinely pleading, ”Please try to keep me out of the line of fire…I’ve honestly seen enough of the nurses’ office lately.”
((*H-hey OOC: Sorry about this post being so vague and bad. I'm still having issues with my eyes so I wrote it really fast. If I missed anything, please let me know and I'll try to fix it. x_x))
