Riku raised an eyebrow at her. "What are you talking about? You've been here for several hours now." He said vaguely.
Leighton looked up at Riku and Langkston. "Dude, the time. Hurry up and get her white winged a** out of here." he urged.
Riku looked solemnly at Langkston. "You need to get out of here and back to the Golden Gates. Now. As quickly as possible. If I go with you it will be too suspicious." Riku began pushing her off the bed and towards the door. "It's too dangerous here any more." he paused and then stared at her, showing no expression on his face, yet on the inside the pain was burning. "You can never come back." With that, he kissed her on her lips ever so gently, his soft lips touching hers. Then--he pushed her out the door.

As the door slammed shut, Riku stood for a few moments, staring at the door. Then he buried his face in his hands, trying his best not to let the tears come out. He felt Leighton next to him, patting his back. Then there it was--crap. The hot tears rolled down his cheeks and moisturized his strong hands.
"We're not going to stay alive, Riku. By tonight...we'll be dead." Leighton mumbled.
Riku slowly looked up and cleared his throat. "I know."
Why? Because the angels were doing a "surprise" attack and bombing soon today. Leighton was told by The Lord, who had sent a spy to The Golden Gates. The spy, though, had been living in The Golden Gates for many years...and the spy was Kyree.

Kyree silently walked out a hidden door and into the empty and silent hallways. She held documents in her hands that were meant for only The Lord's eyes. She silently strided through the long, narrow hall. Suddenly she stopped by Langkston's door, hearing a light sob. Her eyes went from black to her angelic foggy gray(Kyree's natural eye color is black, due to the fact she's a demon).

Kyree silently and slowly opened the door. "Langkston?" she whispered into the dark room. She opened the door an inch or two wider. All demons had night vision, but of course Kyree had to act like she didn't so her cover wouldn't be blown.

Leighton and Riku sat on their beds, their heads hanging low. The only noise in the shack was the occasional shuffling of their feet or the sound of scratching their scalp. Riku's head suddenly darted up.

"What if we evacuated the people to the World of Outcasts?" Riku's eyes were speckled red with frustration of thought.
Leighton looked up at him and scratshed his stubble. "It's a long shot." he caught gazes with Riku. "But we need to get a move on."
Riku nodded, and with that, they had their shoes and satchels and darted out the door and forest, heading for the city.

Leighton pushed people towards the gate to the other world. "Move, move!" Leighton and Riku screamed at the people. Suddenly the hum of a hovercraft drew near, along with the flapping of wings. This caused the two to scream louder at the demons. As the last demon rushed out, Leighton and Riku ran to the gate. Suddenly Riku felt Leighton shove him out the gate, and Leighton closed and locked the gate.
"Leighton! What are you doing?" Riku screamed over the loud hum.
"I'm staying behind. I belong here, I die here. You belong with Langskton." Leighton reached his arms through the gate and brought Riku into a hug. "Promise me you'll come back and fix the city. Tell Kyree I love her. And find my body."
Riku felt hot tears run down his cheeks. "I will, brother." For some reason, he understood why Leighton was meant to stay behind. Leighton cherished the Gates of Fire, it was the only place he found happiness.
Leighton pushed Riku to move. "Go!" Riku nodded and ran with the others. For the first time, Leighton cried.

Kyree stumbled backwards from Langskton's hug. "Sweety.." she pet Langkston's hair. Kyree felt sympathy for her. She sighed. "Go to the World of Outcasts." she whispered. "You'll find him there." Kyree kissed her cheek lightly, and as she looked at Langskton, her eyes went to black. "I'm sorry for making you believe what I'm not. Ad before you go, I want to tell you this. I'm a spy for The Gates of Fire. I'm Leighton's wife. I love you more than anything, darling, but it kills me to say this. You my never see me again." She hugged her one last time, and ran back into the hallways, black wings beginning to unfold from her back, and she jumped out the window.

Riku and the other demons stopped in a large group by Ryou and the forest. Riku walked up to Ryou, tears stained his face along with dirt. He looked rough, but still amazingly gorgeous(i had to). "We're evacuating the city." he yelled over the sound. Suddenly Kyree was at Riku and begging to know where Leighton was. Riku bit his lip and looked towards the gate. "I'm so sorry, Kyree." Kyree's eyes widenend she jumped into the air without running, forcing her wings muscles to push up and down.
"Leighton!" she screaed as he came into view. Leighton began walking, his eyes sparkling with tears, his arm trying to stretch out to her. Before Kyree could cross the gate, a bomb set off right beside Leighton. Kyree was blown back from the shock wave and landed roughly on the ground, her wings crippled. She crawled a bit towards the city and screamed in pain as uncontrollable sobs and tears came rushing out. She screamed Leighton's name over and over, and she began to run to the gates. Riku ran to her and lifted her from the ground, himself crying as well. He carried her away, trying to ignore Kyree's screams for Leighton.

Kyree slid through Langkston's arms and crumpled to the ground. She didn't cover her face shamefully, she let the tears come out. She rocked back and forth. "My baby.." she bellowed. A demon scooped her up in his arms and began comforting her.
Riku felt the tears coninue coming. He was shocked by Langkston's demand. "I don't know how." he replied pathetically. "Leighton did." his voice cracked as he spoke. He gasped for air as he continued to cry. There goes another bomb. The group of demons turned to their home and they cried in pain, not even noticing Langkston. Riku turned too, and he wanted to kill himself to get rid of all the pain. He felt himself fall into Langkston's arms and he clenched the sleeves of her shirt and cried on her soft shoulders.

Riku's eyes darted open. "No!" Riku yelled. He began running to her as another two or three bombs went off. He grabbed her wrist but lost his grip of her.

Leighton lay on the cold stone ground, motionless, but alive. He squinted as an angel walked noncholantly to his crippled body. The angel looked him over and chuckled. "You lose." then the angel's mace began to fly to his head, but suddenly stopped. The mace disentegrated in thin air, leaving the angel puzzled. The hefty angel shook his head and flew back into the sky. Leighton was also left on the ground puzzled. What just happened? Oh, well. He's alive. But no one would find him lying there cold. He silently pleaded for Kyree to come from the smoke and plant a kiss on his lips, caress his cheek like she used to. He needed her more than anything.

Leighton suddenly had the air sucked out of him as he felt...light? Is that what it felt like? Well, he didn't like it. His vision was blurred but he still forced himself up. How could he still feel the same pain? He ran as fast as he could, but it was more of a quick stagger. As he ran out of the gate and came a few feet from Kyree, a sudden piercing pain coursed through his brain. It felt as if he was being stabbed in the head. Leighton stumbled to the dirt ground and heard Kyree screech his name. He felt her take him in her arms, rock him back and forth, kiss his lips, caress his cheek. Just like before, like he wished and longed for. Leighton lifted a weak hand to her tear-stained cheek and forced a smile for her.

Riku tripped as he lost Langkston's grip. He punched the ground, seeing she was already over the gates. Suddenly he was next to Leighton, kneeling on the ground. "How? You're alive?"
Leighton's eyes were squinting, about to roll to the back of his head. "Not for long." tears from Kyree dropped onto his cheeks. "Langkston got me. She healed me, but something isn't right."
Riku looked over to the crowd of demons, seeing that they were teaming together to make a hidden camp. He saw a few demons mending others. Some demons' ears were hurt by the screech of the bombs. Riku scooped him from Kyree's arms and motioned her to follow. He gently placed him on a cot one of the demons had put up. Kyree stood by, holding Leighton's hand and bringing it to her cheek. Riku knew she was sending Leighton messages telepathically. A demon rushed up and began studying Leighton, trying to figure out what was wrong.

Riku decided to leave the two alone so he trailed off and began walking towards the gate. He refrained from calling her name in fear of him being heard by the angels. The last thing he wanted is for Langkston to be chased. He realized he was at a jog and speeding up by the second.
