She wasn't yelling at the person she was worried about, she was yelling because she was worried about the person. Thankfully it wasn't something he asked her to explain, as the premise seemed to make very little sense outside of her thoughts. "I know, I'm sorry." She still felt awful, suddenly yelling like that... "It's just... I thought that--" She bit her lip thoughtfully. It was unfair of her to shout at him for dodging an explanation and then dodge an explanation herself. When she resumed, her volume was such that Inigo would likely have to strain to hear her, "I thought you were dying." It was so horrible a thought that, when she instinctively pulled her hands into fists, she scarcely even noticed that the fingers of her left responded accordingly.

Despite her quiet tones, the forest around them was similarly quiet, so while he did have to strain to catch what she'd said, he still heard her. Or most of it, anyway. "What?" His eyebrows rose as he looked over at her, uncertain if she was actually serious or not. She certainly looked serious. "Oh no no no," he shook his head quickly, "it's really nothing, I'm fine. Just ..nightmares, not like I was actually.. well, yeah," he ended with an awkward shrug, which might or might not have inadvertently hinted that, while he was not really dying, that might've been what happened (or was happening) in his nightmare. "Anyway, I'm sorry for waking you up." The apology was accompanied by an awkward shift, but the feeling was entirely based on the shame he felt for his phobia as well as the resulting nightmares. The fact that a cute girl - one he'd just met, no less - seeing this was more than a little upsetting, to say the least.

"No, I understand." She had nightmares too, varying from flashbacks to the little girl she'd slain, the talons of the Ho-Oh's Sky Attack, the gunshot from however many years ago. They weren't exactly things she could readily describe as points of solace, though, so she simply raised a knowing gaze to meet his before standing with a nod. "It's not a problem," she assured. "I'm sorry I shouted..." As if she hadn't apologized enough. "Then, I guess I'll..." A few steps in retreat towards the tent completed the thought for her; she wished in part to join him under the sky for the rest of the evening, but she couldn't imagine him being terribly comfortable about her presence after being so reluctant to explain. She paused just before entering, a hesitant thought forming on her lips before finally breaking into words, "...Sleep well."

"No, it's okay," though he still wasn't exactly sure why she'd shouted.. but oh well. He watched her retreat and offered a nod at her last words. "You too," even though he knew that, after that nightmare, he probably wouldn't be going to sleep anytime soon. Oh well.

With a nearly inaudible sigh, he leaned back and slouched against Leilani, leaning his head on her barrel. A soft, sleepy hum escaped the Meganium as she craned her neck around, settling her head on his stomach again. He patted her large nose with one hand, draping his other arm over her neck, and spared a glance at the lake. The moon reflected off its glassy, still surface, as if trying to entice him to come closer. There were no ripples to disturb its surface, and the fact that it was so still - too still - was more than just a little eery. A light shudder shook him as he tore his eyes away from the frighteningly deceptive body of water, then slouched further against his Meganium with a sigh. No, he probably wouldn't be sleeping for a while now...

Charmant, who had waited soundlessly at the entrance to the tent during the exchange, moved aside to allow her trainer entry and took up her previous place in a corner as the human settled into a reclining pose. Unlike Inigo, she didn't expect to deal with sleeping problems for the remainder of the night. Years of practice had trained her to wake easily and fall back asleep similarly easily. Expectations were not always favorably met, though, and the previous thoughts of items that inspired nightmares in her danced at the edge of slumber, taunting her from afar to dare to try and sleep.

It wouldn't be terribly long before there was a quiet rustling of fabric from the tend, and the small, dark-haired girl emerged pensively, almost shamefully. She took a seat to a side, placing her gaze on the sky's reflection in the lake. She wouldn't speak unless she was specifically noticed or questioned.

Despite almost fully laying down - slouching was close to laying, anyway - with his head resting on Leilani's side, facing away from the tent, Inigo was trying to keep himself awake. He was resting, sure, but he had no desire to fall back asleep so soon after that vicious nightmare. He had absolutely no desire to go through that again. Why had he ever thought sleeping so close to the lake was ever a good idea?

The soft rustling caught his attention, and his head raised slightly to hear better. After a moment or two he turned to look in the direction of the tent, and his eyebrows rose in surprise as he saw Aila sitting on the grass nearby. He didn't speak right away, he simply sat up a bit more and relaxed against the Meganium's side. "Can't sleep either?" Was the question he asked when he finally decided to speak. His tone was rueful, as if he was sort of ashamed of the fact he couldn't - or wouldn't - go back to sleep due to something so simple or insignificant as a nightmare, even if it wasn't really insignificant.

"Mm... So it seems," she responded quietly. She pulled up her legs and wrapped her arms around her knees, testing the grip of her left hand idly. It seemed it was responding once more, though sensation was still limited. Perhaps a hypochondriac reaction had been a contributing factor to the paralysis... "I usually fall asleep easily... Maybe I was up too long." It wasn't a very large point of concern - she was used to functioning on little sleep - but it was at least mildly embarrassing to admit.

"Lo siento," he offered apologetically, then shifted a bit awkwardly. "Sorry, that is. For waking you," he added. It wasn't like he'd done it on purpose, of course, though he should've known not to sleep too close to the lake. Not that he'd ever slept this close to it anyway, so how was he supposed to know he'd get nightmares from it? "I usually fall asleep really fast too," the student said a bit sheepishly, reaching up to rub the back of his neck, "just.. not so much after nightmares." But that was mostly because he didn't want to fall back asleep, as that typically only lead to more nightmares. Not a pleasant thing to experience, especially while camping with a cute girl he'd just met. If that wasn't embarrassing, he didn't know what was. ...well he did, but it was still pretty embarrassing all the same.

"Ah, no, that's not something you should apologize for," she dismissed. "I sleep lightly... I probably would have woken if you'd as much as coughed." She compressed her posture slightly, knowing full well that her inability to fall asleep wasn't due to the length of time she had spent awake. "Mm, I understand... About the nightmares, I mean." A slight shift of her posture, and a quieting of her voice, "It's not easy to fall asleep when you're expecting bad dreams." She drew a breath. "Well, I wouldn't mind watching the sunrise, if that's how it has to be. I can take a nap later, if I must."

A half-smile tugged at his lips at the thought of her waking if he did cough, but figured it was an exaggeration. He briefly considered asking about her nightmares, but knew he didn't even want to think about his own so he decided against it. It wouldn't be fair anyway for her to talk about hers and him not say one word in regards to his own, anyway. "Yeah," he agreed with a sigh, green eyes starting to drift toward the lake but quickly darted away again before they got there. He didn't need to look at it. He didn't want to look at it, and if he did then he would only guarantee himself more nightmares if he did manage to fall asleep again, which he didn't think would happen tonight. "The sunrise is always pretty. Muy bonita," he added with a quiet sigh as he relaxed against Leilani's side, though his tone sounded a bit distant.

A few quiet hours later the sun began rising on the horizon, filtering through the trees in the forest and reflecting off the surface of the lake Inigo still wouldn't look at. He hadn't slept again that night because of his nightmares, though he'd nap later that day after he left Aila.
