Jericho didn't like how this guy was talking to them at all. Sure, they were a bunch of first year students, but they weren't that weak! He didn't know what the hell this stranger did either, but it didn't hurt him all that much. Either way, being talked down like that irritated him greatly. It appeared that others were affected considerably more, however. Growling, he quickly sprung back to his feet to try and punch the guy.
"VOOIII!! JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?"
Unfortunately he missed.

Already loose-limbed and slumped over, Barth met the ground with minimal damage.
Lectures. Great. The guy was a talker. Barth didn't have any problem with that, as far as opponents went. He took inventory of his claws. In working order.
The problem was that once on the ground, Barth always had a hard time prying himself off of it. Especially when the area was one of his favorite napping spots anyway. ...But now wasn't the time. If he could only get the rest of him to cooperate.

Rain knew she shouldn't be wandering out and about but she liked to walk. It cleared her head, not that it required much effort, and helped her relax. She had a party to plan and she had to come up with some good ideas. What better way than a good walk outdoors? A part of her yearned to find a date for it but she knew that was unlikely. Besides, she would probably have to act as a chaperon. She wouldn't have time for a date with the organizing, watching or gaming. Perhaps if she kept herself busy enough, she wouldn't notice that she was at the party alone.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even notice she was in the woods. Had she been here long? She could hear something in the distance, was there a fight going on? Or was there some kind of creeptastic monster in the woods? She was pretty sure she was not supposed to be here. She followed the sound until she could make out a group of students fighting some guy. Near his feet was a bag. What was inside of it?
Stepping out to join the others, she assessed the situation, trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

Nyyrikki hadn't been prepared. He'd gotten a good hit on the figure with his chains, but as they recoiled and began to wrap around his arm again, some force hit him and hit him hard. His feet left the ground and it was almost slow motion to him, watching himself fly through the air and land on the ground right in front of an undead girl in a hoodie. Obviously, attacking from a closer range had been a bad idea.
Winded, he lay there for a moment, chains laying across his chest sadly and his hood blown down from the blast. How the hell had that happened? The figure hadn't even moved! Was that even possible? Nyyrikki didn't think it was.
His chains fell to the ground as he jumped to his feet and gave the ghoul an apologetic glance. He'd probably been pretty unsightly after a fall like that. He tugged his hood up and raised his hands, something crackling between them. His chains twitched and then began to rise into the air, snaking in an unnatural motion. They hovered between his hands for a moment before flying for the figure, hoping to do more damage without a set of hands to hold them back. Unfortunately, their magic wasn't strong enough after the blow he took.

[OCC NOTE: for anyone joining now do they start off with 25hp, or 19hp due to the last attack to make it equal? ]
It was true that Sarias could be a right nosey b***h at times but recently she felt that she had improved over the past weeks and months of her time here in the academy. Yes, she was a model student, an intelligent ally, a powerful Jammer and a lovely ghoul to be connected with, yes, she was perf- "OH! where is that undead going?"
She leaned over the carcase of yet another gnome "accidentally" slapped to unconsciousness. If more gnomes tried to look up her floating skirt one more time there would be further accidents abound! She was about to dispose of it in one of the ditches she had seen a were-student of some sort digging during a full moon when she spotted the zombie student taking a stroll.
"Why at this time of night? On her own? Thats....well that isn't unusual at all...but." She watched the undead walk further until it seemed to stop momentarily, assessing a sight beyond Sarias vision. Without a further hesitation the undead had ran out of sight to whatever it was that had caught her attention. It was only then that Sarias could here shouting. Jumping up onto her heeled feet she kicked the body of the gnome under a bush and stealthy, but quickly, ran the route the undead had taken. She wasn't about to be left out of something that could make an undead perk up!
Although....she wished she hadn't. "What the jack!"
As student were picking themselves up from being sprawled on the ground she saw what could only be described as a really random guy being attacked by student who obviously knew much more than her! She didn't want to fight, she had new shoes on, and her hands felt kind of dirty already from the gnome murdering she had done earlier. She viewed the students on the ground for anyone who was badly hurt and needed, involuntary, help.

The sudden shaking of the ground made him throw his hands out to regain his balance and then, like everyone else, he toppled to the ground. Being unsteady on his legs really wasn't something he liked, and this annoying stranger was getting on his bad side more and more. Oh yeah, he was going to bring the hurt. That is until he tried to get up, and managed to fall back down again. Seemed he sprained something, and he gripped his ankle, wincing. Great!

One moment crouched in the bushes, a hand coming to rest on Sharra's hip as he stepped back to her side, and the next, crumpled over on her side, pain lancing through her insides. What was that?! For a very long handful of seconds the poor couldn't even breath, shock and a sharp in her chest freezing her lungs. When she did draw a breath it was a high gasp, bright blue eyes going wide.
She had no idea what was going on, what had just happened, but a frantic look around her showed not just herself, but -everyone- on the ground, and the unease that had been growing in the pit of her stomach doubled. Pushing up to her Knees, Calder and Belle were down, but didn't seem badly injured, nor did anyone else immediately around her. The djinn placed a hand on Junko's side to see if she was ok, then turned her attention to the nergal beside her once satisfied. He didn't seem to have been effected quite so badly as she had, but she still didn't like that flicker of pain that touched his features. "Are you ok?" Lips pursed, and she rose her voice to address all them that had taken cover in the bushes.
Even as she spoke she was getting to her feet, perhaps a little unsteadily, but upright all the same. Left hand resting on the trunk of a tree beside her for balance.
Her aim was off, so she didn't feel keen on throwing more rocks. Instead she focused on perhaps defending herself against the next blow from the hooded figure, when it came.

When LW turned to face him, he offered her a brief smile. Alas... it lasted a second before the figure spoke to them, and Gabrian narrowed his eyes. Something about the way the figure spoke was horribly off putting; it was almost like it was trying to teach them something, and yet not, "This is starting to resemble a game of cat and mouse," no sooner did he say this that the ground beneath them shook and his first, instinctive reaction was to wrap his free arm around the she-wolf's shoulders, a rather pathetic attempt at blocking... whatever this was.
His efforts were in vain and as soon as the ground stopped shaking, he found himself sore, hurt, and clutching onto both a minipet and a wolf-ghoul, "What in Jack's name is going on here?" he'd asked that before, but after such a brutal attack, he just felt the need to ask again. Hissing, he reached out for another item to throw, this time his hand curling around one of LW's bells, "I'm sorry, I promise I'll get you a new, much prettier one later!" and that said, he tossed it at the figure, hearing the bell ring as it hit it.

Aksaja made a startled sort of sound as they were all knocked to the ground, cursing softly as his head smacked into something. It really wasn't enough damage to make him stop attacking just yet, though . . .
Quickly, the lightning dragon rolled up to his feet and charged the figure again - this time leaping into the air and aiming a kick at his head. "Exactly!" he yelled, glancing over at Jericho as he agreed with the other dragon's question. "Get outta here, a*****e!"

She did not like this. Not one bit. Especially the one speaking. There was something in his tone that had her tail fur sticking up in an irritated fashion. Was he...lecturing them?! Or...or talking down? What was with this guy! Then the ground began to shake and she felt Gabrian's arm around her shoulders before she all but lost her footing and clung to him to keep upright.
Alright, now she felt like hell. What...what had that thing just done?! Jackdamnit all! She hurt now. Were the other two alright? "Ren? Alessa? You two still breathing?"
LW didn't even care when Gabe grabbed one of her bells (though she may have cringed a little) and watched him throw it. To her delight, it hit. "Niceeee!" She hissed back at him while searching for something to throw. Next to her foot was a good sized rock. Picking that up and moving slightly away from the demon, she threw it like her brother had taught her. Her brother would have been proud as her throw hit its mark.
"That's right. Take that!" She growled with a grin, though she didn't push her luck and stayed pretty close to Gabe and her two friends.

Just because she was already on the ground because of being caught didn't seem to matter as the backlash of the attack seemed to make the bush react rather violently toward the witch and she ended up more injured than she wanted. "Nooooo!" The girl whined in reply to Yaya, struggling up to her hands and knees and looking over her arms and legs for scrapes. That was until she saw a certain wisp fallen behind a tree. "Daisuke!" She shouted, jumping up and happily ripping herself from the bush. Alright! Reaching down and snatching up a wayward stick, the witch hauled back and threw it with all her might at this rather unfortunate person who she was suddenly realizing was not going to do them any favors. It didn't do much damage, but that wasn't too much of a concern.
With a strange zig-zag motion that she hoped would help deter any attacks, Belladonna made her way to Daisuke, pausing to wave and smile at the backward limbed Amrita and shouting a 'thank you!' before reaching out and grabbing the wisp's arm to help him up. "You ok?" She asked, looking back at everyone else and hoping they could all last long enough to defeat this guy.

Knocked flat on his a** by the blast of power, it felt as though someone had landed a solid blow to his chest, the nergal sputtered for a moment, trying to remember the proper way to take air back into his lungs. Swearing softly, he turned to the ghoul at his side, and frowned. Ah gods, the b*****d had hurt her. "Yaya..." It was soft, worrisome, and his fingertips flitted to a lock of her dark hair even as the two of them found their feet again. "I'm fine, looks like you got knackered a touch harder than I, however..." His voice had attained a subtle growl, acid green eyes alighting with an eerie glow as his ire towards their opponent rose.
"Just stay behind me..." He whispered, reaching back with his good hand to squeeze hers gently. And then, he let them drop away as he charged towards their rather haughty nemesis....spines elongating once more as his claws turned an even more acidic green, and gritting fangs, he reached out for yet another swipe, trying to come from the side...and this time, he felt the sound connect of the blow, and knew he'd done better than his last attempt...bouncing back once more, he maneuvered betwixt his fellow students, having no desire to leave the djinn's side. He'd never forgive himself if he left her and then something happened.

ROUND 3
Total damage done: 22 Total HP remaining: 50
Now that the confusion had settled to a mildly simmering anger for most students, they might have had time to analyze the situation. No, the figure was not moving backwards, or dodging the attacks: it was more like the students' attacks were hitting against something else, something shifting invisibly. The first thing that gave it away was the strange way the wind moved, and the way the ground shook, as if something was slicing into the air on its own, cutting deep gouges into the earth. The second was the shockwave that once again, flung the students backwards, an invisible pressure hammering them into the ground.
"Enough, Circe." Immediately the effect dissipated.
Though the figure wasn't visibly holding anything, one of their hands seemed to be locked around a vague outline of a shape: a handle of a weapon possibly? There was not much time to digest such information.
"This is honestly pathetic. Are you even trying?" Once again, they waited patiently for the students to even attempt to scramble on their feet. "Have you asked yourself this: what is 'Fear'? What are you, creatures made up entirely of Fear doing, wielding this most amazing power, this strange phenomenon that makes up you and this world as if you did not understand yourselves. You are your Fear. You embody power. Either you embrace it or you will fall."
The pendant dangling on the figure suddenly glimmered, flashing erratically, filing the air with its familiar humming sound, oddly soothing, refreshing, somehow empowering the students.
"Now I will give you one last chance, are you going to attack me seriously?"
Their opponent was still waiting.

Having been dazed after the first attack, Aedan came to, feeling bruised all over, with the second. Jack, that hurt! Scrambling to his feet, he barely restrained a groan. There was nothing that didn't hurt, at this point! However, with the pendant flash, he felt...unfamiliarly powerful--it was the sort've feeling that usually precluded some object around him catching on fire, and he could feel his horn starting to glow. However, this was more controlled...and different-unlike other occasions he could recall, he felt as if he were a conduit (all of him, not just his horn).
He really didn't enjoy being played with. However, he wasn't going to complain about the 'power-up'...he just hoped it lasted. Making a fist, his eyes widened in surprise as wisps of flame flickered around it, eyes narrowing slightly as he quickly saw the potential of it. Concentrating on his now-glowing fist, he attempted to focus his power there, pleased to note that a fireball seemed to be condensing into existence. He also, however, kept some of his attention on the mysterious figure--it would do him no good if he successfully made a fireball, but got taken off-guard by another attack in the meantime!
Finally, satisfied with this effort, he pulled back his hand, then, with a throwing motion (much the same as the one he'd made with the rock, earlier), he tried to release his fireball, hoping that this actually worked.
A solid hit! Not quite a direct one, as the rock had been--but, he noted with satisfaction, he'd managed to send the fire where he wanted. However, he couldn't help but wonder at the figure's motivation--was this some sort've trap, and they were all screwed no matter how they tried?

Lizzy once again found herself being flung backwards, yelping out in pain as she hit the ground hard, tears forming in her eyes at the burning sensation she felt on her back as well as the back of her head. She tried to move, to stand up again, but realized that she could not. It was an odd sensation, and as nobody moved, the Demoness realized that all the students were in the same position as she was.
As the odd sensation passed, Lizzy ignored the pain she felt and climbed up from the ground, stumbling backwards a few steps. Feeling something damp drip on her shoulder, a hand moved to where she had hit her head - there was a bump there now as well as an open wound; while the cut was not deep, it was bleeding. It was ruining her outfit and her hair. Still, she looked up as one of the strangers spoke; if her friends hadn't seen her scowl before, she was scowling now.
FEAR? That's what they're in school for right? She hadn't even attended gym yet, and didn't someone warn her that using FEAR outside of class was strictly off limits?
Whatever. Nobody insults the students of Amityville like this!
Putting the index finger of her left and right hands together, Lizzy concentrated the FEAR that made her into her fingers - making silk was second nature to her, but this was different. The familiar humming sound helped her to concentrate, and she slowly pulled her fingers apart; anyone who looked closely would realize that there was now a length of thread between her fingers, a green mist "coating" it.
She panted, feeling tired as her vision became a little blurry, but sped forward anyway. When she was close enough, the Demoness lashed out the thread like a whip, the poison rushing forward towards the opponent from the edge of the thread.
Smiling, she dropped back again, flopping to the ground as the green mist around her thread vanished; that was all she could manage... She hoped the other students would do better.
