Graves winched at the punch, it didn't really hurt him, but he liked to act like it did. "You'll get use to it. Trust me." he snickered and looked at what Justin pointed at. "Uh, yeah that is a shallow grave, i can't sleep like most people do." He scratched the back of his head with his shovel. Graves accidentally hit himself in the head with his shovel when Justin asked about their mom. He sadly looked over at Ray.
Ray seemed to look away for a few seconds and squeezed Justin's hand. She knew she could talk about it better than Graves could. Graves often would get mopey about it and could never finish the story. She bit her lip." yeah, she was killed when i was eight, some sociopath decided that a woman and her daughter were a good target for a random knife attack...." her voice was quiet and almost sad sounding. She could handle telling anyone this was because her dreams only consisted of bad memories to the point they weren't scary anymore. The face of the man always haunted her dreams no matter what they were about.
(XD, i was watching that a few hours ago......alright i got to bed, so good night.)

 Justin looked into Ray's eyes "I'm sorry, I should not have asked". Inside Justin's head thoughts ran crazy. He hated it when someone was killed with a sword or knife, any blade really. Justin believed that the blade was created to protect, not to kill. "I lost my parents too" he loathed telling others about his past, and the sights and sounds always flooded back when he spoke about it. He continued "my father and entire village was cut down, in one night, by a pack of wolf demons when I was three". A feeling of sadness hung itself on his shoulders "my mother, I don't even know if she is still alive". He felt kinda stupid telling them all of this, but when he did it felt like a great weight was lifted off him, and he let out a silent sigh of relief.

Ray returned Justin's glaze. "It's alright....it was a long time a go." She might have be more delicate to the subject, if she didn't have to face the murder in her dreams every night. She listened intently as Justin talked about what happen to his parents. It almost brought Ray to tears, all she could do was to hug him. "That's.....horrible." Ray's voice cracked slightly as she spoke. She never knew her father, but the idea of losing both him and her mother would have killed her.
Graves turned fully to look at Justin, his story as heart breaking if not more, as his when he almost lost Ray. He would have embraced Justin, if Ray hadn't, so he just placed his hand on Justin's shoulder. Squeezing lightly, to show his support. "I thought we shared a common bond......I'm sorry for your loss. " The idea that his mother might still be alive, should be a small glimmer of hope to the young boy. But that also meant the possibility of her being dead. 'Ha, death.......' Graves thought bitterly. The coldness of his hand, only serving as a reminder of his 'gift' given to him by the gods. Graves gave Justin a sad smile. "I'm sure everything will turn out for the best in the end."

Justin welcomed Ray's embrace with a smile. He had never been one to show his emotions but knowing someone else has been through the same thing as him gave him a little bit of relief. "The past is just that, past" he looked at Graves and tried to change the subject "I still don't get how someone could sleep in a grave". He was in fact getting sleepy himself, but kept on a cheerful face "so what do we do next" he asked.

Graves' smile turned from sad to happy. "Well it helps if you sleep like the dead." He chuckled lightly, it was a dark joke, but he always found it funny. "Sorry, i like that joke. It a little bit harder than most beds, but i find it's the only way i can sleep." Graves said walking over to his 'bed'. He didn't want to say that he was undead, somethings should stay covered. Oddly enough it took him two weeks after the accident to realize that he couldn't sleep without some type of grave. Having slept most of his life, he just decided that it would be best to just continue the routine. Also staying up all night made him antsy. "Plus, it beats trying to sleep in a tree or just on the ground."
Ray hugged Justin a little bit longer before she released him. 'the past..... is the past' Ray thought to herself about what Justin had said. Graves little comment about sleeping in trees was aimed at her. "Hey don't knock until you try it." She stuck her tongue out at Graves.
"Hey is that anyway to treat your older brother?" Graves pouted at her, but it turned into a smirk. "Well what we do next is most likely sleep. Since Ray there seems to be fall asleep, i would suggest she go to sleep very soon."
It was true, Ray had been trying to stay awake since the two left the forest. It just that she didn't want today to end. Ray yawned quietly to herself.

Justin could not keep himself from laughing. "Trees arn't bad, beets sleeping on the ground, where something could come and eat you" he said kinda defending the way Ray sleeps. Justin streathed like a cat, and yawned "some sleep could do me some good". He looked over at Ray and smiled "mind if I keep you company in the tree" his face blushed, he hoped she did not think he meant something dirty.

"awww.....But that's half the fun. Waking up and having to beat a badger off you is the way everyone should wake up." Graves said half joking, but it had happened to him at least once. He jumped down into his 'bed' and stretched his arms out, yawning. "Hey if your going be up in the tree with my sis there's one condition: you gotta help her up." he turned and looked at the two. "It dangerous enough for her to stand i don't want to even think about her trying to climb a tree.
Ray nodded her head, agreeing with Justin. She had see Graves almost get eaten many times. At hearing her brothers request, she couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed. Normally she would use her talons to climb, but human feet don't have that much grip to them. She looked at Justin not sure why he was blushing. "Yeah that's okay with me." she smiled back at him. "Let me just say night to Graves."

Justin smiled "well I will be waiting". He turned away from Graves and Ray, and went over to a sturdy looking tree. He called out several large swords, and pushed them into the tree, making a crude staircase to some of the larger branches. He looked over back towards Ray and smiled. He had found someone to hold on to, and, protect. He knew tomorrow would hold a brand new adventure, and he would be forever content spending days on end with Ray.

"Alright...." She let his hands slip out of Justin's hand and she walked over to Graves. She keeled down and kiss him on the head. "Night, don't let the badgers bite."
Graves kissed Ray on the cheek. "Ha ha very funny, Sally. You make sure he behaves with you up there. If you feel like he's being to pushy, just punch him straight in the nose. It'll daze him enough to get away." He said in his protective brother voice, but quiet enough so that only Ray could hear what he said.
Ray picked up some dirt in her hand and threw it on Graves. "It'll be fine, Jak. Promise...." Graves was just worried, they only had each other left in this world. "Now go to sleep." Ray said smiling at him. She got up and walked back over to Justin. She looked at the stair case made of blade. "How inventive." Ray turned her smile to Justin, he was a new addition to their family. It was a strange idea, having someone to love, another to keep her grounded. Without them, she would be just like anyone of her kind.

"iIts nothing" he smiled and stepped up onto the first blade, just to make sure he had it in deep enough to hold him and her, but not so far in, that it would kill the tree. "After you my lady" he said bowing and holding his right hand out to her. He smiled at the thought of sleeping next to someone, for a long time he had no one to hold, no one to keep him warm. He had forgotten what it felt like, until tonight, when he and Ray kissed. He had felt warmth like never before, and he loved it.

Ray blushed and took Justin's hand, happy to have some to help her up. Someone who would be there as much as her brother had be would take some time getting use to. It was kind of nice, she knew her brother wouldn't always be there for her. But Justin was someone to hold on to if the day came, he would be there to hold her. Ray carefully climbed the makeshift staircase with Justin. Graves couldn't sleep with out some kind of covering, so often times Ray slept by herself, using her wings like a blanket. Having someone to sleep next to again, would be nice.
Graves waited until they were almost out of sight be for reaching over and grabbing the dirt next to the grave. He pulled into top of himself, carefully covering his entire body, but his head. 'Ah soil, how i hate having to sleep like this but it's how this works.' He mused to himself, before falling a dreamless sleep.

Justin smiled and walked behind Ray, he was tired, but had to stay awake long enough to keep the swords in place. As they got to the top of the stairs he created two more blades, and cut off some limbs from above, and placed them across some of the stronger branches. He cut a few more from the top and the bed of leafs and branches was coated in the soft glow of the moon. He sat down and looked back at Ray "I kinda like it up here" he said with a smile.

Ray watch cautiously as Justin cut the branches. The blades were what she was more cautious about, then Justin. She didn't like blades at the best of times. That's why she kept a pretty small one on her at all time, it wasn't that scary as the bigger blades. "Yeah, it really pretty." Ray followed Justin, sitting down next to him and removed her getas. Ray placed the getas off to the side and leaned on to Justin's shoulder, just looking out at the landscape. "So, Justin what did you come to Mitomi to learn or if you just came here...." Ray asked a slight blush coming to her face, she was curious. It was also nice to have someone to talk to before she fell asleep.

Justin looked up at the moon and sighed "I'm not sure way I came here". He loved it when Ray leaned on him, and he used his tail to pull her closer. "I might never know what made me come here, but so far I'm liking it" he said smiling at Ray.
Deep in the forest a shadow stumbled towards the light of town "I'm free". One of Justin's clones had remained, but it looked different. The clone's outfit was black, and his ears and tail where white. "I am free at last" he walked to the end of the forest and looked down on the town with hungry eyes. "Hello world, I have returned, here comes Wrath" he said laughing as he traveled towards the outskirts of town.(^_^)

Ray looked up at him, hearing his sigh. Justin's tail pulling her in closer to him. It was very cozy, just the two of them. Ray cuddled up closer to Justin, giggling a little at his answer. "well, whatever reason you had for coming to mitomi, I'm glad you came here." She smiled back at Justin. Sleepiness was starting to set in, but Ray was trying to stay awake.
