It was probably about when Sin jingled her bells that Riley realized something. She perked her head up, took a quick sweep of the room, and narrowed her eyes to slits.
They were trapped?
Wait. Wait just one Jack-damned minute. What happened to those gnomes outside the doors? I thought they had our back?
She looked up at Jericho and blinked. Did we crush them when we burst in here or something? She listened intently, trying to get past the chattering of the students to hear some sort of noise. They'd better be performing some sort of heroic rescue mission, out there.. or I will be very displeased.
She could barely hear Junko's voice somewhere in the fuss, and she listened carefully to try and distinguish all of the individual voices. It was with a private, but heavy, heart that she realized she didn't hear one in particular. Well, at least it wasn't trapped in this hellhole with them. That was something.

Merde...
Malodore came to full awareness with a start, though at first it thought it hadn't truly woken up at all... it was so dark! And everything ached. The plague doctor rang its bell weakly and felt a faint flush of well-being creep over it, but it wasn't very much. It had only just managed to not get completely destroyed by the horrible elf! Maybe its bell had been broken in the fray?
A faint whine reached its ears, and then something warm and soft nudged it. "Luce," Malodore whispered, fumbling to scratch under her ears, checking her furry body with its other hand, searching for wounds. It found none, thank Candlejack....
"Riley?" it coughed. "Jericho? Junko? Sin - anyone? Are you there?"

As the Succubus came on around, Jericho looked back around as the dust had settled a little more. However, Riley's words soon caught his attention. Blinking back at her, he looked over towards where they had burst on in. He didn't recall hearing any screams but then again, there was a lot of noise upon their entrance.
"I don't think we did," he murmured, "I don't think we're stuck. There's another door or exit around here right?"
He would have figured that the mech had to come from somewhere. But then again they had come in with the battle already going on so for all he knew it could have been here waiting for everyone.

Junko stopped to hear Malodore calling out for them, still carrying Deacon close and snugly against her as she turned on her heel to search for the plague doctor. "Malodore? We're over here!" She called to him. Her first instinct was to raise an arm and get his attention, good thing she remembered she was holding a kitty in her arms.

I don't see any exit, but then again, I can't see much in this-
It was a good thing she'd been listening for the sounds of gnomes digging, because as soon as she heard her name called she drifted into silence for a moment. She recognized it instantly, and was torn between conflicting emotions. There was the one hand, which she was carefully skirting, and then the more unhappy notion that this meant Malodore was trapped in here after all. Just terrible.
Aksaja? She whispered down to the boy, before gently loosening her grip. I'll be back. Don't try to move. I mean it. If I find out you died from moving around too much, I will kill you.
As ridiculous as the threat sounded, she still made it seem like she meant every word. Once she felt Aksaja was safely settled, she patted Jericho's neck. Malodore. She murmured the one word to Jericho, but it was enough. Let's go.
And, picturing him in her head before sending him the message, Riley spoke to Malodore alone. We're coming. Don't move. She wanted to ask him if he was all right, but.. well he was all right. She didn't need to ask. She was sure of it, she convinced herself.

Getting to her feet was a slow and steady task, Alcie shook her head slightly trying to regain her composure. "Yeah, yeah I'm alright." She didn't even notice that she was bleeding all over the place and her arms and legs were completely scratched up. Also, the explosion had sent some glass her way and cut her right on her cheek. "I'm glad to see that you two are alright."
Blinking, she finally looked down and realized that she was wounded all over. "Well, this is a pain." Deciding to take one of her pumpkin pills, Alcie felt much better but it didn't change the fact that she was still wounded. Her hair was a mess and her clothes were no good anymore. This train ride had become a horrible nightmare. What were they supposed to do now? Looking around feeling a little confused, she tried to figure out how to get out of here or what loot they were supposed to be taking back. Besides peppermint candies, there didn't seem like much. Something seemed a little off...

Jericho had just barely heard Mal's call, and at first he didn't recognize it as the Plague doctor. A part of it was that he wasn't even aware that it was in the same room until now. Waiting as Riley carefully set Aksaja down, he nodded to her and started to move to where he had originally heard its voice.
Again his steps were slow and cautious, not wanting to crush someone with a misstep. Before too long he managed to spot a flash of red on the ground that wasn't a bloodstain.
Sure enough, it was Malodore. Making his way over towards it, he gave the doctor a quickly examination. It looked pretty battered, but the dog it had seemed pretty unharmed.
"Hey, how you holding up?" he asked it.

Sin was quite annoyed by the present state of things, they were trapped, some injured, and otherwise incapacitated. She walked over when she heard Maladore and gave the bells another harsh rings. At least the JOY in this place was useful for something. She managed to heal the plague doctor for 8HP and then sighed and looked back at Aksaja. She could hardly be everywhere at once, but she was making the effort.
Still she wanted to put her focus on finding a proper door instead, and getting the heck out of here. She looked at Alcie relaxing when she saw that her friend was back in good shape.

Ah Jack, that was at least a bit better. The lightning dragon didn't particularly WANT to move, still but now... he didn't feel as if doing so would make him instantly pass out. Offering a quick, tired sort of smile, he nodded at Sin. "Thanks," he rasped, then leaned back against his nice not-so-comfy wall to wait for Riley and Jericho to get back. Probably ... trying to gather everyone up in a single place was a good idea...

The Crow shook his head to Livi, glancing back at his wing. What a right mess this had all turned into. "I'll be alright. Flightless, but alright," and he stretched the injured wing just enough to bring it to Livi's attention. As the other called for Aksaja, he looked around, scanning everyone in the immediate area. There was the lightning dragon but he still couldn't find the ghoul, which was frustrating. Had he lost another ghoul to mayhem amidst this insane mission?
Jericho's loud bellow for help caused Corbin to press his feathered ears back but he quickly sifted through his bells. In total he still had five, not a one was used, but there was no telling what was up ahead, what they might be facing. Stepping toward a clearing of the room, he held the arm up which his jingle bells were tied to, "I can heal four people! Who's the worst off?" Maybe this would be a bad idea, to announce his bells to everyone in the area, but he would deal with that as it came. For now, he wanted to help; the bells had been hoarded for this long, they might as well be used now and he could keep one in case of an emergency--either for himself or someone else.

"Don't thank me until were all out of here okay..." She murmured to Aksaja and then leaned over him and gave the bells another ring. At least all the JOY in here made the bells a bit more useful then they had been. Still she was ready to hightail it out of this wretched place.
She looked around again her expression annoyed, "What did the headmistress want from here anyway?" She doubted it was peppermint points or the strange presents that they had looted from enemy corpses. There had to be something else, something special...and some other way out.

"Lo sono qui - I am here," Malodore called out in response to the voices of its companions, then paused as it heard another bell chime in the darkness. A powerful wave of healing washed over it, taking away or dulling many of the deeper aches. "Grazie... Riley, I am well enough now..." It got to its feet carefully.
Luce barked, the sound echoing. She capered over to Jericho, attempting to do something akin to a Lassie impersonation.

Bells, bells everywhere. They had lucked out, it seemed - multiple healers meant they had a good chance of getting out of this place together. Riley stopped when she saw Luce scampering over to Jericho's feet, and bent down to hold her hand out to the pup. She brushed the back of her fingers against his head, and pushed herself back to her feet just in time to see Malodore try to stand.
I thought I said don't move. She gently sent out with a touch of amusement, moving closer to get a good look at him. She held out her arm, the faint amusement vanished in place of worry. Let me help you get to the group. It's better if we stick together.

Luce accepted the pat, then scampered back to Malodore. "Grazie," the plague doctor said wryly, accepting Riley's arm for support. It could smell the smoke from the explosion, though thankfully it didn't need to breathe. Luce seemed to be below the level of the smoke in general, but every so often she coughed a tiny bit. "It didn't knock me unconscious - barely - but..."
That had been highly unpleasant. Now that Luce was pressed up against its legs and Riley was there, with the voices of its companions in the dark, the plague doctor was starting to be less concerned and more actively annoyed. "Surely we didn't do all that just for some candies?" Oh, it would be giving the Headmistress a piece of its mind if that were the case - Princess Corner or no!

When Junko knelt down, Deacon believed he recognized her. He was positive, really, even through the darkness and smoke. He purred, leaning shamelessly into her ear scratches, little paws kneading at the floor as he stood in place. Lifting his head for chin scratches, he was feeling pretty damn content despite the situation until She decided to fill Junko in and startle her out of giving him proper kitty attention.
However, he certainly didn't mind when she scooped him up. The fact he had a bosom to cuddle against was better than petting by a lot. Deacon snuggled against her, mentally hoping that the fact he was nuzzling against her chest wouldn't be seen as a perverted move... Whether it was or not.
When Junko spoke his name, alert eyes looked up at her as his ears perked. She'd guessed who he was pretty quickly, and the purr and half-lidded look he gave her probably confirmed his identity before he curled up comfortably in her arms.
[I'd also like to state, Eight, that you're welcome to NPC carrying Deacon around if I'm not online to post. <3]
