Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain Sparrow listened intently as Heart spoke and replied with, "My personal belief is that most intellectual creatures should be considered beings. I consider Centaurs beings even if they chose to be classified as beasts. It is their choice to be considered beats but that does not downgrade their intelligence or the fact that if you ever come upon one you must be wary." She then thought for a moment and responded to heart's next section. "I am not sure the reasons for dragons being beasts, for it is true that they can be intelligent. I am also unsure of the number of dragons that are actually intelligent. If there is a greater number of incoherent dragons that logical ones then perhaps it would be too much of a risk to allow dragons into the Being status for lesser ones may claim they have right to be heard and cause trouble and so forth." She was more unsure of what to reply to for the other parts, but continued anyway in saying, "Clagg's definition did cause many problems as Professor stated, but I do believe that we are not only looking for humans, but just we may be close minded as is human nature. We have trouble opening our minds and considering that other creatures may have better ideas than ourselves and we close them off when it is wrong and they should have a say if they seem wise enough and understandable." Sparrow was really liking this lesson and it wasn't the least bit boring as History of Magic has been in the past.

"Centaurs chose not to be a Being because they didn't want to be labeled in with such creatures as Hags. Sparrow was saying Centaurs
COULD be Beings, which is correct. Harmony glanced at Sparrow and then looked away at Heart.
"Only the certain sections of the Ministry is made of non-humans, because of wizarding dominance of course were considered Beings not Beast. In addition we as humans, meet the requirements for Being status, but yes you can deny the status...but I believe you must do it as a collective race. Harmony elaborated. She took a breath before continuing in the same calm tone she had before.
"I wrote in my reponse to Professor's Éternelle questions that; 'A Beast unlike a Being, doesn't not have enough intelligence to understand magical
law, or so it would thought in simple terms.' See, Life isn't so simple?Predjuce and labels get in way like get in the way.
Take Centuars, they denied Being status because they didn't want to be grouped in with Vampires and Hags." Harmony took another breath.
"Dragons and as far as I know they don't speak in human tongue. Besides dragons are XXXXX creatures; they're violent. And just like the manticores, they were denied Being status because of their violent nature.."

Most of the time you learn something, then debate. In English I had to debate about the meanings and meassages in the Fountainhead and other books we read.))

It's just that with all the talk about what the definition of beings and beasts here we're kinda forgetting things. Some are considered beasts as they are deadly; dangerous. I don't think you'll see me sympathizing with a Quintaped ! Those creatures will gladly eat you !" he emphasized by micmicking claws with his hands. "And then, why base Beings purely on intellectual thinking ? I mean, I know there's been some talk in the old days to classify Muggles as beasts ! And they in turn have shown that they enslaved themselves, shun and discriminated. It's kinda ironic since some of them even considers wizards as sons of the Devil ! I'm sure there are dwarves, goblins. They're considered Beings and aren't homo sapiens right ?" ((Don't know about debating classes but I've had some of them. Kinda nice though))

((Oh, and the Dragon speaking part...I'm going with the book Professor Kalle refers to...they do say -some- dragons can speak. question ))
((And debate classes...I don't believe my school has a debate class, though we do have a debate club. We often debate during different classes, especially history and english))
Heart chews on her quill. "Then are you saying, Harmony, that as being part of a species called human, one is automatically qualified in being a 'Being'? What if they have a disease or such, like if they are retarded, or have a different intellectual disability? Would they be qualified as well?"

Seventh year Slytherin prefect Daemon blinked at the defensive tone, but didn't comment. He'd not met him. maybe it was his debate tone. He glanced at Sparrow with a bemused look. "Aludra, by defult, probably terrified it into speaking human." he chuckled softly, "no, I'm sure it happened, it's just never happened before. Muggles probably said the same when the first wizard children did magic." He put on an old crones voice "'ere, 'arold! did ye see dat! t'e boy just made a chair leg fall off with a twig!"

"Beings by LAW are considered; creature intillgent enough to help make and infulence magical law..." Harmony began in her blase tone, she scanned the room, it was indeed getting heated but all debates were like that.
EDIT TO HEART: "Yes, I supose so. Before you begin, no that's not fair.
Individuals and their situations are not thought of. Centaurs denied Being status as a collective majority, then that one Centaur who wants to be a Being cannot unless they change the law to accommodate that one...or few. But our goverment being our goverment won't I suggest we stop with Ministry's flaws...it's never good news when your on their bad side..." Harmony's eyes turned a light shade of grey as she mentioned the Ministry, and she noticed if anyone was going to get in trouble about talking about the Ministry it would be her. Harmony sighed and said.
"My thesis is; abeit the law is the law, things are more complacated. Some creatures deny their labels, some are too violent, and thus sufficent intillgence is not enough to be a Being." Harmony stared at the Professor and said.
"I'm exiting myself out of this debate for now, my voice is getting a bit weak, and I find myself repeating the same things...
