Xi smiled to see that Natalia had one too, so just in case it HAD to be just the four of them then they would be pretty safe at least since Natalia would be there. "Going back and asking would take too long... we've already covered so much ground, it would be a shame to just send someone back. Besides, it would be too risky... they would get themselves killed. I'm going to take the gamble and go the island route. I really think everyone should go as well." Xi started down the path towards the island route, regardless of whether or not anyone followed. That was that, his decision was made. Hopefully, they would though... hopefully.

"Aww! You wanna leave so soon?"
Behind you, a tree speaks! It wiggles its branches in an attempt to wave.

HP: 3

Xi gasped as another one of those trees blocked his path. This time it was attacking him! Xi reacted quickly though and quickly threw a roundhouse quick at the tree.

Xi: 25 HP
Tree: 6 - 6 = 0. 0 Damage. 3 HP

"Oh! D-d-dear! You don't give hugs like that!"
The tree attempts to reach out and grab Xi with its long limbs.

HP: 3

Xi dodged out of the way, but the tree scratched his arm a bit. "I don't want any hugs!" Xi leaped at him again with another kick.

Xi: 25 HP. 8 - 6 = 2 Damage. 23 HP.
Tree: 4 - 6 = -2. 0 Damage. 3 HP

"Aww! Someone's been having a rather bad day!"
The tree quipped cheerfully, ignoring the kick and trying to grab him again.

HP: 3

Even with Raziel's battle being over, Xi's battle was far from over just yet. It was no use! Xi was just too weak and he knew it... his dancing skills were of no help at the moment and if he couldn't kill this thing quickly, he was done for! Hopefully the others hadn't left him during the battle, since he wasn't exactly paying attention to anything else around him. "Why won't you die?!" Xi exclaimed almost pleadingly, lunging again with another series of kicks. The small jiang shi was now on the verge of crying, being battered and beaten by the creepily cheerful tree while his friends could do nothing to save him.

Xi: 23 HP. 8 - 6 = 2. 2 Damage. 21 HP left.
Tree: 3 HP. 3 - 6 = -3. 0 Damage. 3 HP left.

"AR:GKJSDF" the were-lemur roared, frustrated that A) these poor students were being attacked by trees...and B) SHE had not been attacked yet! The lemur boasted to herself, confident that she could teach a tree and all of its friends a lesson...

"Get it, GET IT."

Petro watched the boil struggle against the JOYful tree and shuddered. It had faces and mouths and to the tikbalang it just reeked of good cheer and everything that ruined FEAR. "You can do it"! he bellowed out to the undead before glancing towards Astra to give her a grin, "Maybe we can use that tree's branches to make fire after he beats it."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 16, 2010 6:35 am

"Sounds good to me," he responded at Petro's idea, bowing slightly to Tybalt, Astra, Raziel and Hadiyya. "And I am Haku." A little belated, but he blamed the cold tampering with his crash-addled head. Poor Tahki, though, she had seemed so tuckered out as she set up her tent to rest. Worse, knowing she couldn't speak right in her natural form . . .

Yeah, he really needed to keep an eye on his skull pin now.

"Keep a calm head!" Haku shouted to Xi as the boil was prodded painfully by branches. "Focus! If hte roots don't work on this one, aim for the base of its branches."

"Petro," the barely dressed boil pointed to himself after Haku's introduction. "Fire oughtta ward off these trees and warm us up!" He nodded to the inugami before returning his attention back to the fight at hand, "Go for its eyes!" Maybe blinding it would help? Or at least wipe the obnoxious grin off that JOYful tree's face. Petro decided if these trees were going to attack them, well, they obviously didn't deserve protecting! "Anak ng-" Tro snorted as he once again shifted to his real form. "Body! Make up your Jack-damned mind!"

((SURPRISE! I am going on vacation from the 17th to the 22nd ;3; So Natalia is going to hang out in her tent...until the end of the event, most likely. IF I can get on to RP I will try to, but otherwise good luck Oblina team and beat Santy's a**!))

Natalia groaned beneath the weight of worry, watching the tree swing, watching the student cut and bruise...they were surviving and that was the most important part but an attack was an attack! And like passerby's they had to watch, wait, and hope for the best. Her ears twitched to the sounds around them, eyes wide and rarely blinking to capture all the action.

Again, she hooted a reassuring call, "Xi bite it's limbs off! Use your teeth!" Enthusiastically the were-lemur lifts her lips away from her fangs to expose them, opening and then shutting them several times in an example!

A fire sounded nice...they needed to keep warm after all, considering the amount of time it would take for them to escape the forests chill. But more so than that Natalia felt tired and in need of sleep. If all ends well with Xi and the tree, Natalia will pitch her tent (probably helping to pitch others as well, in case another student decided to sleep) and rest until morning.

Hmm...She probably wouldn't fit.

Laiha was beginning to grow worried. Already 2 boils had beaten the JOY-trees, and her partner was having a great deal of trouble. He seemed so upset, but there was nothing she could do for him! She reared up and roared, perhaps trying to divert attention, and when that didn't work she yelled some more partially useless suggestions.

"Rip out its branches! Poke it in the eye!"

Dark eyes twitched to glance at the inugami as he introduced himself. "aim Hadiyya, it's nice to meet you." Now that things had calmed down considerably the djinn could not only feel the extreme cold closing in around her, but the pure exhaustion brought on by the chaos of the crash coupled with her naturally drowsy state. It stuck her like a physical blow, and if not for the hand she three out to brace against Tybalt's back she would have fallen. "I'm sorry, Tybalt." sinking to her knees, she let her pack slip off her shoulder, slipping an arm around the ghost dog's back.

It was dark. At somepoint night had hit them and trickled by, for she could taste dawn on the horizon. In all her short life she had never once stayed awake for so very long. It made her seriously consider setting up her tent, but as tired as she was, with the time of the morning, she was worried if she passed out now she might not wake up in time to move on with the other students.

Drawing her phone from the folds of her skirts, she slide the screen up, punching in a message to Braum. -Trees are attacking, but they seem to be ignoring me. I'm getting tired, Braum. Stay safe. She hit send, then typed in another name. Someone she hadn't been able to find before they'd all been split back up again. -Where are you, Sharra? Let me know you're ok.- Sent. She'd send a message to Belle a little later, when it wasn't so dreadfully close to dawn.

"You can do it!" Myr cheered encouragingly to the one currently fighting the tree. It was a little weird that they were attacking, weren't they made of joy? And shouldn't that have meant that they didn't attack? Apparently not.

He shrugged. It didn't really matter anyways, right now they were focusing on surviving, and then winning. A successful raid would be something awesome to write home about.

He heard somebody say fire, and he looked over the ones discussing it. "Before we get all excited about the idea, does anybody actually have something to make a fire with? I know I don't."

Sepheran attention returned to the last tree battle, nothing seeming to have changed from that one. "Try for the roots boil! Or the base if nothing else!" Sepheran cried out hoping he would heed the other student's advice and give him a better chance and doing the tree some damage. Why not? It had worked so far and it wasn't going to do less damage then the tree was already taking. "Keep it up! You're doing fine!" he added for a bit of support before drawing his attention to the group.

"Fire...that does sound nice but while it might drive away the trees it could bring a more deadly creature...I say we continue on after the fight. We only have one more day to make it to the next zone and we are already lagging behind," Sepheran stated, though he agreed that a nice sit by a warm fire sounded lovely right about now.

Tahki emerged from her tent and stretched. The rest after all that shock from the crash did just the trick for the gryphoness. Though Tahki was still stuck in quad form it would seem things were starting to look a little brighter. Still, she couldn't really talk to any of her team mates like this.

The snow gave off a familiar crunch as she padded toward her group as to not be left behind. Memory of attacking trees came to mind. Tahki certainly did not want to be left behind at their mercy. This thought made the arctic gryphoness pad a little quicker.

Nefertari kept cheering on her friends, hoping to encourage them in battle. She kept her eyes pealed for any more trees that might be attack. These trees were really freaky and she didn't like them. Scratching posts that could move.

"I can make fire, but I usually can use the sun to start it. We also need dry wood to do so," she said looking around at all the snow. That would most likely leave very little dry wood to make any sort of fire.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 16, 2010 3:33 pm

"It's alright" He assured the demoness. She could use him as support if need be. She seemed pretty tired after all. She must have ran all the way here to catch up, or something. If so, she must be exhausted. Snow was difficult to move in and it drained your energy in minutes. On top of that it this JOY filled land was eating away at their FEAR and making them weaker.

"Is it really wise to make a fire?" He asked. "Like Sepheran said, we need to keep moving. We're losing time and I don't think burning a fire is a smart thing to do. To start with, burning wood from trees might attract more trees, not drive them away and I don't want a test fire to find out." He pointed out. He really would love to just stay put, but they had a mission to carry out and they were already getting attacked as it was. Staying in one place too long was possible suicide.

Myr tilted his head. Maybe they had a point, but it wasn't like they would be walking through the night. Perhaps a fire this evening would be better than doing it now.

"Perhaps they have a point," Myr said."At least for the moment. Plus if we keep moving, we might find a better place for a campsite this evening." He glanced around the area they were in. It wasn't exactly the best for staying in, plus they kept being attacked by trees.

"And we might find some dry wood on the way."
