Shinken was a bit out of it as they stepped out of the Kage’s office. He was lost in thought considering what kind of powerful secret he might be able to learn today. Something that would make him the strongest gennin ever to have set foot in the exams he hoped. As his mind went over the possibilities of ninjutsu, genjutsu and sealing jutsu he almost walked into the back of Michio, who looked back to address his teammate. Kuno had stopped to buy some food and Michio approached him with a plan to get the scroll. Shinken however Had a better one. He would read the scroll and using his intellect combined with the sharingan he would memorize the scroll. Kuno sensei approached the two and asked what they were whispering about. Michio made up a pretty good excuse on the fly. The Uchiha had to give him credit for that, he was quick on the uptake. As they made their way through the market district Shinken lost himself in thought again. He was only brought back to reality when Michio addressed him. He made note of how far their missions had taken them in the past few days and Shinken nodded in agreement. It had been a crazy few days, and it showed no signs of stopping anytime soon. As the three ninja made their way toward the Antique shop Shinken listened to Kuno and Michio talk amongst themselves about the Exams. What he heard didn’t exactly fill him with confidence. Even though he didn’t believe the ghost stories Kuno sensei was telling, he did believe how deadly the exam’s had been. That didn’t speak well for his chances. Even if the young Uchiha was an exceptional shinobi there were bound to be people there who could rival, if not exceed him, and considering he was only in a two man team his odds weren’t great in that situation. When Shinken saw Hanako standing in their path he immediately activated his sharingan. He knew the hot headed Jounin would try to start a fight, and, while he didn’t want to get into it with her for fear of being expelled from the ranks of the hidden sand ninja, he was fully ready to defend himself. She didn’t look so good, with scars covering the majority of her body, and a patch covering the eye that must have been badly damaged by the fireball jutsu he had used to subdue the girl. When Michio nudged him and gave him the signal to knock off the sharingan he finally noticed that Hanako wasn’t alone. She was with the man who had saved him back when the Hyuuga’s sisters had come after the Uchiha and Kaguya duo. He immediately let his eyes return to their normal state and gave the elder Hyuuga a nod. “I’m glad to see you are doing well.” Shinken said to the older man as he bowed his head in respect. Not all of the ninja in the hidden sand were such bad people. In fact if it weren’t for the conduct of the younger members of the Hyuuga clan Shinken might actually have been inclined to view the clan favorably. As it stood there were members like Hanako, who proceeded to insult both Shinken and Michio. Though the insult rolled off of the Uchiha’s back as he held back a retort. ‘If I’m a bumbling Idiot and I beat you, what does that make you?’ He thought to himself. Kuno however did have a response for her. His backhanded statement brought a smile to the Uchiha’s lips. When Michio interrupted Hanako before she could respond Shinken gave him an approving look. The Kaguya was learning how to avoid conflict. That was certainly a sign of improvement. Perhaps his training had taken after all. The young Uchiha watched as Michio took off ahead of the group and sighed. He was still as impulsive as ever. Kuno ordered Michio to wait and regroup and surprisingly the Kaguya accepted the command. When they regrouped the Shopkeeper greeted them gladly. Shinken had to think that he wouldn’t be so cheerful if he knew the reason they were here. When Kuno went to pull out the notice of confiscation Michio grabbed his hand and Shinken raised an eyebrow. It appeared that MIchio wanted to deliver the news himself. This was a bold move, but it did put their plan into action. When the Kaguya presented the Merchant with the news that his scroll was being confiscated the old man suddenly took on a tone of desperation. That told Shinken that whatever was in that scroll really was important. That was a given, but what happened next took the Uchiha by surprise. When his teammate asked what was in the scroll the shop owner seemed almost frantic, and the words seemed to tumble out of his mouth before his thoughts were fully formed. Apparently the scroll held information on some kind of beast, and a way to seal it inside of someone. Before he could say anymore than that Kuno cut off the old man saying that this information wasn’t meant for the ears of Gennin. That made shinken want to read the scroll even more. The pointed insult leveled at the group slid off of Shinken like water off of a duck’s back. He needed to find a way to get that scroll. When the Zephyrs attacked on the way back to the Kage’s office the Uchiha got his chance. He used his clone jutsu to create copies of himself to fight the gang members, but allowed himself to be pushed into Michio. While the two were tumbling on the ground Shinken slipped the scroll into his vest pocket. Then when he got the chance he separated from the rest of the group, making it look like an attempt to thin the numbers of the gang by drawing them away. His ruse worked and he was able to quickly dispatch the two Zephyrs that followed him. When he read the scroll he saw that it told of a powerful demon cat with two tails, made of blue flame. This monster could be sealed inside of someone and they would be able to access its power, but there was a risk that it could overtake them in an intense situation. The rest of the information was outdated but he memorized it anyway. By the time he had finished he could hear the sounds of battle dying down. To make it look like it had been a harder fight than it was Shinken took one of the gang member’s blades and cut deeply into his right arm and left shin. He began to bleed quite badly and stumbled out of the corridor. He held up the scroll for Kuno and Michio to see as he did so. “I got it! They tried to make off with it when it fell out of Michio’s pocket...but I...I stopped them…” Shinken said as he feigned weakness and exhaustion. As his sharingan deactivated he fell to his knees and actually had to hold himself up as he was starting to feel a bit woozy from blood loss. Kuno ran up to the young Uchiha and bandaged him up as best as he could. Shinken knew this would make him look bad, but that would just make people underestimate him later. All in all this was a win win. With the young gennin’s wounds patched up for the moment the group made their way to the Kage’s office and turned in the scroll. Now with the mission complete Shinken was rushed off to be healed by the medical Ninja while the Kazekage gave team one another mission. Information had come to light on the woman named Enko that could lead to her capture. The village Anbu were preoccupied with other matters, so Team one was being sent to capture her if possible, but if not the order was to eliminate her. INDENT"Well done Arina, looks like we are both getting out of here and good thing. Because of you I know what I'm going to specialize in!” Sora smiled sweetly towards the young girl before looking around obviously trying to figure out what was going to happen now that the exams were coming to a close. Admittedly, she was wondering the same thing… The last few bodies were starting to make their way towards the group. When everyone was close enough to hear the instructor, the young man coughed loudly and held both his arms high above his head trying to catch the attention of the crowd. Truth be told, the young woman was not expecting anyone to notice this small gesture considering the excitement and whispers that were flowing through the crowd of young teenagers who were speaking amongst themselves dreaming of grandeur that awaited them on the other side.
INDENT“Wait,” Arina allowed her voice to trail off trying to comprehend the entirety of what Sora had said previously. She was so distracted by the environment surrounding them that she easily overlooked the entirety of the message Sora had tried to pass along. The young girl was so shocked by this development because she was convinced there was no way that she could have made such a lasting impression so quickly in their budding friendship. While they had been in the same class for many years, Arina could not even recognize the young man this morning when he had approached her by name in the village shop. The young girl had to confirm… That. Very. Last. Part.
INDENT“What do you mean,” the young girl looked over questioningly... “Because of me?”
INDENTBefore being able to answer, it would have appeared that the instructor had gotten tired of waiting on the students to take heed to his passive hints. “Listen up you heathens!” the instructor announced loudly banging his open palm against the miniature clipboard that was being held in his free hand. “There has been a lot of politics going on within the village and because of this; we have not assigned anyone to a team. There is no further information to when you can expect to be placed, so I would urge you for the moment to go out and train with your friends! Make sure you are honing your skills and when they are ready to assign you to your proper teams, they will make sure to get in touch. They have many ways of doing this and might even make it a small test of you vigilance to your surroundings. With that in mind, congratulations to those that have passed! Miyo, Akihiko and Kai – I will see you tomorrow in class,” the teacher concluded beginning to shoo the class away with his arms outstretched.
INDENT“That seems odd,” Arina said quietly looking towards Sora to see his thoughts about what had just happened. Oh well, the two of them would still be able to practice together and that was definitely a win – maybe they could even meet some new people to train with. Politics? While she knew this term was important for the survival of the village, she also was surprised that something that sounded so trivial could get in the way of assigning teams. Were there not important missions that needed to be carried out daily? Even simple tasks that kept the village running smoothly were performed by the Shinobi teams. Come to mind, they probably had more than enough experienced teams to handle things like that without worrying about training the newest additions.
INDENTArina walked briskly away from the school building back towards the main portion of the village, “Did you want to grab lunch?” They had talked about doing something like that earlier. This would be a good opportunity to get to know each other a little better. Not to mention, Arina was still quite interested in what the response was going to be for her question earlier before the instructor interrupted. There actually was a lot on her mind right now as she contemplated what the best type of environment for lunch would have been. She was certainly hungry and could have eaten a lot at once but the pair had a lot to discuss, “Did you have anything specific in mind? We should probably go somewhere that we can spread out the eating unlike with ramen which you should definitely be eating all at once!”
INDENTWhile waiting for a response, the two of them meandered aimlessly through the streets of the village. Every once in awhile, the young girl would utter an apology to a nearby traveling stranger as not watching where she was going was a bad habit of hers. Of course, their instructor had just finished preaching to them about how to remain vigilant but they were not participating in missions quite yet! She had a habit of turning her attitude around when the young girl knew she had something to accomplish. It could be something as simple as training to walk on the water or even putting together the flower arrangements that they taught the younger girls for surviving in enemy territory pretending to be civilians. It was like something just clicked in her mind warning the young girl to be more serious about what was going on surrounding her because one day these strategies would be used in a very real situation of importance.

Michio had fought with a new found ferocity when the Zephyrs attacked and had somehow not lost himself to the rage that threatened to rise to the surface. During the fight, Shinken had faked being pushed into him and he rolled with the Uchiha, then felt his teammate snatch the scroll from inside his jacket. He looked up and Kuno was facing away from them, caught in combat with two of the gangsters while Shinken ran off with a few of the gangsters giving chase. Michio had gotten to his feet and aided Kuno in fighting off the thugs but before any finishing blows could be done, the gang retreated. Michio moved to go after them but Kuno grabbed his shoulder. “Where's the scroll?!” he asked, but just then Shinken emerged from the alley with a cut on his right arm and his shin. He was holding the scroll, which looked like it hadn't even been opened, and Michio was relieved. Kuno was too, but turned on Michio. “You were in charge of keeping it safe, and you let me down.” he said before walking over to tend to Shinken's wounds. Michio felt a pang of guilt strike through him and he wondered why Kuno's words had the impact they did. They made their way to the Kazekage's office without any more interruptions and then Shinken excused himself from the group to go to the Sunagakure General Hospital. Kuno had taken the scroll from Shinken when he'd patched him up, so there wasn't any need for the young Uchiha to remain. Together, Kuno and Michio entered the main office and immediately ascended the stairs to the main office, walking in unannounced. “Ah! Kuno-san! Michio-kun! Where's Shinken?” the Kazekage asked and Kuno bowed his head. “He was injured during the mission. The Zephyrs attacked again, making one more attempt to steal the scroll.”“You think they would learn by now that if Team One is on the case, their efforts are useless.” Michio interjected and Kuno smiled. So did the Kazekage for a brief moment, but only because Michio was actually speaking like a member of the village rather than making himself into an outsider on the inside. The smile was only momentary though, because the Kazekage stood and cleared his throat. He made his way around the desk, taking the scroll from Kuno and nodding to the Jounin. “Well, congratulations on your successful mission, but unfortunately there's no time to celebrate. I've just received word that while the group of Zephyrs you fought kept you busy, another group of them were on the other side of the village and murdered one of our village's shop owners. I don't understand why we've had such bad gang activity lately, but this has gone far enough. As much as it pains me to say it, I have another mission for you, and this one isn't one you will likely walk away from without some harm coming to you. Any of you. The leader, Enko, has to be brought in. But from what our intelligence has gathered, she's a rogue shinobi that left the village before I became the Kazekage. I don't know what she's skilled in, and that troubles me because your team will be going in blind.”“Isn't this something the ANBU should handle, Lord Kazekage?” Kuno asked, but the Kazekage frowned and walked behind his desk again, having a seat. The Kazekage shook his head and spoke once more. “Unfortunately, another group of twelve rogue shinobi were spotted on the outskirts of the village a couple of hours ago. The ANBU have already been sent to investigate and take them out, so I'm short staffed. I did say it pains me to send you on this mission, because you're right Kuno; this is something ANBU should handle. But in light of the murder, this isn't something that can wait for them to return and recover if they sustain any injuries. Time is of the essence, and your team is the best I've got. Enko has been located at the old abandoned museum of past shinobi. I need you to leave immediately and bring her in, dead or alive. I understand that you are likely exhausted from your recent confrontation, but there's no time to rest.” The Kazekage reached into his desk and pulled out a bottle, then poured three pills into his palm. “Here are some soldier pills. Please give one to Shinken, as you'll need him for this.” Both Kuno and Michio nodded, and Kuno bowed. “It will be done, Lord Kazekage, even if we die trying.”“Don't say that. Just do it.” “As if these no talent, unfocused, worthless thugs could actually be of a threat to us. Don't worry J-... Kazekage-sama. Either Enko will sit in that chair, bound up, or you'll have her head on your desk by nightfall.”The Kazekage was shocked that Michio had willingly used the honorific for recognizing one's superior station, but smiled all the same. “I'm putting my full confidence in you, Team One. Bring her to me. Dismissed.”Michio rushed from the room with Kuno in tow, and the two of them left the Kazekage's Office building, heading over to Suna General where they found Shinken just leaving the front door. “That was fast. But I'm glad to see that you weren't seriously hurt.” Kuno said to the Uchiha and produced the soldier pill that the Kazekage had given them. He placed it into Shinken's hand and smirked. “We have a new mission and we need you at your full strength. Enko has been spotted at the old museum and we have been conscripted to take her out of the equation. She's not going to come quietly, this we already know, and she's not likely to be alone.” “Don't worry about that. We just have to have better numbers than them.” Michio said plainly and Kuno scoffed. “Oh yeah? And how do you suppose we get more people than they have?”“Well, if you think about it, I'm worth seven of them in a fight. Shinken's worth seven or eight. You're worth at least nine of them. So...” and he made the hand sign for the clone jutsu that Kuno had taught them before, focusing his chakra and isolating it to another entity. A swirl of wind picked up and formed into a solid copy of Michio. “We just have to make enough clones to outnumber them skill-wise.” Michio said, laughing and losing concentration of the jutsu. The clone dispersed in a gust of violent wind, blowing their hair and headband flaps suddenly and wildly. “Just as long as you don't lose concentration. This may not be another delivery mission, but I need to know you'll stay focused on the mission at hand. The minions are of no consequence. Only Enko matters. Now, let's stop wasting time.” Kuno handed Michio a pill and popped one of his own. Then Shinken tossed it back. “The gloves are coming off now. Let's go!” Kuno told them, not noticing that Michio had not taken his pill. Michio, Shinken, and Kuno all rushed off to the museum. It took them about an hour, even after they had taken to the rooftops, and they came to the rooftop overlooking the street that the Museum was located on. “Alright boys, let's review. There's going to be a lot of them in there. But unfortunately, the museum is the perfect place for a headquarters. There's only one way in and one way out. The only option here is to go through the front door, and if Enko is as paranoid as she is dangerous, she'll have either a group of guards keeping an eye on the door or some kind of alarm to alert her to anyone's presence. Be on your guard, because it might be trapped. If Enko was from here, she's sure to know that someone's coming after her.”“Kuno-sensei, I appreciate the pep talk, but I'd rather just get down to business. Suit up, team. As I said, the gloves are coming off.” Michio jumped off of the roof and connected his feet to the side of the building. He pushed an adequate amount of chakra into them and ran down the side as if it were flat ground. The gravity increased his speed as he ran and he heard the falling of footsteps as Kuno followed suit. Shinken had jumped off and used his chakra to fly past Michio and touched down, landing gracefully. Michio was not so graceful. He hit the dirt with a thud and scowled, but not at his partner. The three of them now stood at the base of the building they'd been on the roof of, and Michio didn't wait one second. He dashed forward and charged into the closed door. It burst open under the force of his charge and a number of explosions went off, throwing Michio up and into the air. His face was blackened, but luckily the door had absorbed most of the force of the blast. Michio recovered in midair and landed on his feet to see that at least twenty thugs were staring at him. They had expressions of both shock and amusement, but once they realized who it was that had burst in, some of them lost color in their face. “S**t! It's Kaguya Michio! Get ready everybody!” one of them shouted, and Michio couldn't help but find a little pride in being well-known among the scum of the Sand Village as their reckoning. The skin of his forearms began to shift and from each knuckle, a blood smeared claw pushed through the skin. Michio snarled and rushed forward just as Shinken flew through the door and Kuno ran in. He jumped into the air and turned his body so that he was angled towards them. “DRILL CLAW!” he cried out and began rotating in midair until the details of his figure could no longer be seen clearly. All that remained was a powerful cyclone of lethal intent as he dived towards the crowd. They scattered and Michio missed his target, but that didn't discourage him. He landed and tore up some of the ground, then sprang forward and caught one of the thugs in the leg with one of his claws. The man cried out and Michio hooked his claws upwards, using his unbelievable strength to perform a one handed throw, tossing the gangster into another by the leg. The claws slid out as the thug was thrown and Michio wasted no time. He jumped and kicked another thug in the face, then pushed off just in time to dodge an arrow that had been fired at him. The arrow found it's home in the throat of the man he'd kicked and Michio frowned. 'That wasn't my fault. Dammit!' he thought and landed on his hands and knees. The archer was knocking another arrow and Michio stared him down, manipulating his skeletal structure to create the hard layer of impenetrable bone under his skin. “You really think an arrow is going to put me down?!” he called, then ran forward. His speed was reduced, but that didn't matter now. None of the weapons could do any real damage to him, so even if he was caught by one, it would only leave a skin deep gash. The energy he received from the soldier pill was something else. He brought his rage to the surface and used the adrenaline from it to charge into the crowd. When he was a few feet away, he leaped up six feet off of the ground and brought his claws down in a slashing motion. The archer tried to defend himself by blocking with the bow, but Michio's claws sliced right through the wooden bow, disabling his opponent's weapon. The thug cried out and fell backwards, causing Michio to miss his target and slam his knees into the archer's face. He tumbled after he hit the ground behind the archer and rolled into a kneeling position, then looked up to see that more of the Zephyrs had entered the main room of the museum. He scowled and leaped into the air, coming to land beside Kuno and Shinken, who were fighting with gangsters of their own. Team One was now surrounded by the entirety of the Zephyrs. If Michio had to guess, there were at least fifty of them. But how the Zephyrs had gained enough followers was beyond him, or at least it was before he started to recognize faces in the crowd. There were Blood Kings and Wind Bandits among them, or they were Blood Kings and Wind Bandits. They all now bore the same green sash on their left biceps, signifying themselves as members of the new gang. “Once a gangster, always a gangster...” he said to himself and blocked a downward sword slash with his claws, shattering the blade. In response, he kicked out and struck the man who'd attacked him with the sword in the chest, sending him crashing through the crowd. Suddenly, all of the sashes flared a bright emerald and the Zephyrs stopped attacking. Kuno took this opportunity to call out to his two Genin. “Team One! Defensive formation, now!” the Jounin called out. Michio raised an eyebrow and backed up so that he was back to back with both Kuno and Shinken. Kuno faced the eastern wall and that particular ninety degrees of enemies. Shinken faced the western wall and those enemies, while Michio faced north and had a clear view of the Zephyrs before him... as well as a woman seated on a throne at the end of the main hall. “Well well well! Looks like the Defenders of Sunagakure have dropped in to say hello! Miyamoto Kuno, isn't it?” the woman said, tapping her fingers on a large gourd that sat next to her on the right. “Foolish of you all to have come here without backup. By now, I was sure the ANBU would have tried knocking down the door. But instead the Kazekage sent you, didn't he? Just like him. He was a stupid little kid, and now he's an even stupider adult.” Kuno was looking at her over his shoulder with a kunai drawn and at the ready, and he smirked when she called the Kazekage stupid. “Sort of hypocritical of you to say that with everything you've done, Enko. Did you really think you'd be able to take control of the Sand Village with a band of no talent scumbags?” “I have no plans to take over. Just run what was once an unruly band of thieves and murderers. You can't stop crime from happening, Kuno. It's as much a force of nature as any of the elements. It can only be harnessed. Focused. Directed. But I don't expect you to understand that. I only expect that you'll understand when I say that you've led your Genin to their deaths. Congratulations for being the worst Jounin to come out of the exams since the shinobi of old.”Michio glared and it was almost as if his claws sharpened. “You really think these pieces of filth are of any threat to us?”“They're more than enough for nothings like you to handle. Once you're dead, I'll be sure to collect your headbands as souvenirs. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got better things to do than watch the demise of you and your team.” Enko told him, standing up and slinging the gourd over her shoulder, the strap sliding to sit in between her breasts. She held out a fist and called to her minions. “Kill them!” And with that, Enko left the main hall through the door to her right. The Zephyrs closed in and began swinging their weapons, and Michio, Kuno, and Shinken were forced to begin defending themselves. “Oh no you don't!” Michio growled and pressed the offensive. “She's not getting away! DRILL CLAW!” He broke through the crowd in a violent spin that disabled and injured several of the Zephyrs that dared to stand in his way. “Michio! NO! Don't break formation!” Kuno called, but Michio was already leaving the room. A couple of Zephyrs gave chase, but the rest of them filled in the empty space that Michio had left in their ranks, cutting off Kuno's easy access to follow the Kaguya. Michio dashed through the door and saw Enko at the end of the hall, only a few feet away. “ENKO! You dare run from me?!” The criminal mastermind turned to see him and smirked. “You're persistent. And apparently skilled.” she commented, then made the hand signs for Tiger, Hare, Boar, and Dog. She slammed her hands onto the floor of the museum, causing cracks to shoot out from the impact. Before her, a wall began to rise from the ground, cutting off access to her as it reached from floor to ceiling. Behind him, Michio heard the footsteps of the Zephyrs who followed after him and he retracted his claws as he spun. He caught one of their attacks by the pole but the other attack found it's home by embedding itself in his rib cage. Thankfully, due to the layer of bone beneath his skin, what it had actually embedded itself into wouldn't cause any real damage. Michio grabbed the wrist of the man who'd struck him and shifted his grip so that he was holding the wrist of the other attacker. He spun and flung both of the thugs against the wall that Enko had created, taking off after them the second he had let go. When they collided, it was one after the other. The first gangster, then the second, then finally Michio, who had taken off at as much speed as he could muster. Together, they collapsed the wall, turning it into a mixture of blood and rubble. The Zephyrs who had attacked him lay still but alive. He grinned and extended his claws of bone once more, heading to and through the only door at the end of the hall. “Strong too, it seems.” the voice of Enko called to him and he snarled. “I'm everything a woman could ever hope for, but not that you'll ever know!” he retorted, and she giggled at him. “Now let's see how aware you are. Come and find me!” The shutters for the windows suddenly were all drawn and the room was plunged into darkness that was broken only by the light coming from the previous hall. He frowned and crouched down so that he was on all fours, closing his right eye and letting his other four senses become stronger. He stalked the room, listening for footsteps, sniffing the air for her scent, but could find no traces of her. Just as he was about decide that she had escaped into another room, the soft sound of feet touching down on the stone floor rang out and Michio turned. He leaped at the sound and lashed out with his claws, catching a soft, fleshy form with his right claw. But the form fell apart and the sound of splashing water could be heard. “Not there!” Enko told him, but the sound of her voice came from several different angles, including right behind him. He drove his elbow back and then followed through with an uppercut, catching the Enko clone behind him under the chin with his claws. They sank into the soft flesh of her throat, through her tongue, and into her brain. But the form of Enko fell apart much like the first one, this time into a pile of wet mud. He growled and thought back to where the shades were as he disconnected his claws from his knuckles. One by one, he threw the claws and struck the connecting ropes that kept the curtains hanging. They all fell away and light shone into the room once more, illuminating Michio's surroundings.... and Michio saw that seven Enko stood in a line in front of him. “What the hell?” he asked, and the multiple forms of Enko spoke all at once. “Choose one, Kaguya Michio. Try and decide which one is the real me.” they said, and Michio scowled. “Is this a game to you?!” he snarled and they all laughed. “No, this is a test.”“A test? A test for what?”“You have demonstrated expert skill in Taijutsu, you're quick on your feet, intelligent enough to level the playing field, strong enough to break my Earth Wall, and all with only one eye available to you. You're exactly the kind of soldier I'm looking for.” an Enko behind him spoke, and Michio turned sharply and extended a new set of claws, causing more blood to leak from his knuckles. Seven more Enko stood in a line behind him. “If you pick the real me, you've passed my final challenge, and I'll consider you an official member of the Zephyrs.”“You want me to join you? After all of the wrongs you've done, after all of the lives you've destroyed, you want me to be a part of it? You're out of your mind.” “This isn't as much of an offer as it is me telling you what's going to happen. I know that your mission was to either kill me or capture me. I can tell you right now that I will not be captured. Which means you'll have to kill me, and I have no doubt that you are capable of doing that. But if you succeed and I'm gone, the Zephyrs will need a new leader so that they don't just start killing and stealing at their own whims. Your friends are already dead. The only ones who will know of this are you and I until you want it known by everybody. Just pick the real me, and you'll have all of the respect you could ever ask for.”Michio considered her words for a moment, considered what having the power over the crime of the village could do for his life... but then he thought of Shisara, her disappointment, the ANBU that would come for him, Shinken's fury at his choice, and what was in store for him if he gave in. “What do you say, Michio-kun?” “I'll say it again, Enko, you're out of your mind. I would never betray the village and join your cause. You're right about me taking your life, but the Zephyrs will fall here today. There will be no loss of control on the criminals of this village, because you're wrong about Kuno and Shinken already being dead. Shinken is stronger than I am, he's smarter, and he's got more skill in every style of ninja combat than I do. And Kuno is not a Jounin because of some fluke. He's got more than enough skill to take down every non-ninja member of the Zephyrs by himself. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they were on their way here now.” Michio answered and he crouched low, readying himself to attack. He let the layer of bone retract itself from under his skin so that he would not weigh too heavy to move properly. It was going to take everything he had to take this woman down, and it was clear to him that she was skilled in the use of both Earth and Water style jutsu, as she had a clone for each of the styles and had summoned a wall from the stone of the hall behind him. Enko looked disturbed by his words and looked to the door, giving away which one was the real one without realizing it, but after a few moments there was no movement. If Kuno and Shinken had been on their way, they would have entered the room by now. Enko's disturbance faded and all of the clones began to laugh. “It looks like you're the one who's wrong here, Kaguya Michio. Your friends would have been here by now if they had survived the attack. But since you've made your decision to deny my vision, I can't let you leave here alive. You may be capable of killing me, but that doesn't mean you'll get the chance. Too bad, because you would have been a hell of a leader.”The clones surrounded Michio and began to melt, turning into mud before his very eyes. He had anticipated an attack, not for them to start falling apart. The real Enko was fully visible now, holding her hands in the sign of the Ox. His eyes widened and he took a step forward, but the melting clones were faster. They slammed into him from all sides and pinned him to the ground, then formed a square cage around him, plunging him into another darkness. He was now free to move, but not by much. Suddenly a small hole opened above him and broke the darkness. Enko's voice spoke into the hole and Michio growled. “Kaguya Michio, you have been tried, you have been judged, and you have been found wanting. Perish now in a watery grave all your own making.” She told him, and a torrent of water forced it's way through the hole, quickly filling the chamber. Michio watched as the water rose above his knees. 'If that fills the chamber, I'm done for! I've gotta break out!' he thought in a wild panic, and began slashing at the mud walls around him, but no damage was being sustained. “It's useless to resist, Michio. You only broke through the wall earlier because I was no longer expending chakra into holding it up. Just die. Don't worry, I'll make sure no harm comes to any of your other loved ones so long as they submit to the Zephyrs!” Enko told him, her voice reverberating through the walls of the mud chamber, and Michio's rage began to build. Suddenly it was as if something in him unlocked, and a new flow of power flowed through his chakra system and into his physical capabilities. He clenched his fists and every muscle in his body began to tense as a new power flowed through him. The sneaking suit stressed under the new bulk of his form despite being made of a stretchy material similar to spandex and he struck the walls with a new found strength. They cracked under the pressure, but reformed almost immediately from what Michio could see with the limited lighting. 'If not outwards, then downwards!' he thought, and began to slash at the floor beneath the rising water, tearing up chunks of the floor. 'Come on! Faster! Break already!' He continued to take hunks out of the floor in a fashion similar to an animal burrowing into the ground, and suddenly the water that was nearing the top of the chamber was also full of bits of stone tile that Michio had broken away from the floor. He continued to pummel the ground with both claws and fists until suddenly the chamber was full of water. He held his breath and slashed his claws against the stone floor until he saw a light from below open up. The small hole began to widen as the water flowed out, but the flow was slow and Michio would not last the wait. He turned himself upside down and planted his feet against the top of the chamber then pushed off for one final attack. The force of his push was greater than anything he'd ever done before and the floor caved, dumping Michio and the water into a corridor that had been beneath the museum. Michio coughed and gagged for a few seconds before looking around and realizing that this was the museum's replica of the maze that was found inside the Pyramid of Kohaku, an ancient structure several miles out from the Village Hidden in the Sand. He thanked his luck and rose to his feet, then heard a noise above him. He looked up and saw that the mud wall had collapsed. Instead, the mud had sealed the hole, preventing Michio from entering the room above through that entry. “That's fine, Enko!” He shouted, the adrenaline from his unlocking still flowing through him. He retracted his claws and ran a few feet down the corridor and crouched, then leaped upwards and struck the floor with his gloved fists, shattering the floor under the pressure as he broke through the floor and back into the room above. A surprised Enko turned, but Michio gave her no time to react. He extended his claws as soon as he was through and kicked off of the edge of the hole, sending himself flying towards her with a speed that exceeded his own previous achievement. He collided with Enko and rolled with her, then sat atop the wanted woman as he drove his claws into her chest over and over and over until all that remained was the shredded core of her chest cavity. Blood leaked from the holes that had punctured her back as she lay there dead, but the blood turned clear and the deceased form of Enko exploded in a burst of water. He growled and stood to his feet, turning just in time to see a small blade flying towards him, as well as Enko attached to the handle. He blocked with his left claws just in time to only allow a small slash on his cheek and drove his right claws into her chest, but this too was a clone. It dispersed into a puddle of water and he growled, looking around for the real Enko. “Over here, Michio!” Enko's voice called, and he spun to face the direction that the voice came from. The attack that followed caught him completely off guard, because it wasn't something that he was used to or expecting. A gigantic swirl of water had formed into the shape of a dragon and was flying towards him in a fashion similar to a serpent's strike, it's liquid mouth gaping wide in an attempt to bite him. Michio jumped out of the way and rolled to the side, then ran forward with his claws drawn. “Give it up Enko! There's nothing you can do to stop me from killing YOU!” he said, the last word strained as the body of the water dragon jutsu thrust itself to the side, the force of the blow sending him flying several feet until he landed on his chest, rolling until he finally came to a stop. He grunted and stood up slowly, but was blasted once again by the dragon, who had hooked around and chased down the prone Kaguya. Michio cried out as the concussive force of the water smashed against his back and threw him into a stone pillar. The pillar shook under the impact and dust fell all around him. He coughed and rose to his feet again, this time a little quicker as he was desperate to not get hit by the dragon again. He ducked around the pillar just in time to keep from getting hit and as soon as the dragon struck the pillar, it dispersed into a line of water that laid in puddles on the floor. Michio peeked around the corner and saw Enko, her hands still in the final seal for the Water Dragon Jutsu. But she was panting and her knees were shaking. It became obvious to Michio that she had expended too much chakra, which was understandable because there was little to no water to be found in the Land of Wind, and that gourd could only hold a limited amount. Hardly enough for a Water Dragon Jutsu like the one she'd just used against him. That meant that she had to use her chakra to create enough water, and that just HAD to be taxing on one's supply of chakra. This was working out to Michio's advantage though. Just then, he felt his muscles begin to ache and he grunted. 'Not much energy left myself. I have to end this fast.' he thought, and sprang from his hiding spot, running as fast as he could towards Enko's tired form. She saw him coming and unslung her gourd, tossing the heavy pot to the ground to remove the damper on her speed. She drew a blade that was sheathed along her belt line and parried as Michio made his first slash, deflecting the attack away from her. She followed the parry and slashed his arm, but it was a simple and shallow cut. The Kaguya followed up with another slash, which missed it's mark. Enko slashed at his throat, but Michio crouched and sprang upwards. “TORNADO CLAW!” he cried out and caught her in the stomach, then dragged the tips of his claws up her torso, traveling from her belly button up her diaphragm to across her sternum, then up her throat and along her chin. The combined force of his attack and her attempt to dodge it caused her to start flying into the air. Once she was floating seven feet off of the ground, Michio leaped and reared his arms back, then unleashed a flurry of stabbing motions into her chest and stomach, each impalement causing blood to fly out and coat Michio's face, chest, and arms. “BERSERKER RAGE!” he shouted and ended the attack by slamming his foot into her shredded stomach, sending her crashing to the ground. She bounced when she struck the ground, then a puff of smoke erupted from her body. “What the?!” Michio exclaimed, and the smoke cleared to show that a large chunk of the tile floor where she should have been. Michio looked around, but just as he peered over his shoulder, a foot caught him in the right cheek and sent him flying into yet another stone pillar. Michio had struck it face first and as such, the velocity of his body combined with the small point of impact destroyed the structure. The pillar collapsed around Michio, who now lay on the other side of the base. He'd been thrown through it and his whole body hurt. “Ouch....” he grunted, and all of a sudden his body gave out. He found it incredibly hard to roll over, but he did so and stood. His knees were now also shaky and he collapsed to one knee. 'Almost out of energy... this is bad.... I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this...' he thought, reaching into a pocket of his vest and pulling out the soldier pill he'd been given by Kuno. He brought it to his lips and popped it into his mouth, then chewed it up and swallowed. The effects weren't truly immediate, but they might as well have been. Michio rose to his feet again, this time without shaking, and checked his claws. Two of them were broken, but the rest were fine. He pulled the broken ones out from his knuckles and created two more, pushing them through the gaping holes. “How?! How are you still standing?!” Enko called to him, and he smirked. “It's as you called us. I'm one of the Defenders of Sunagakure. I can't be beaten here, not by you, because more than a defender, I am The Beast!” he shouted, and his movements were almost that of the wind itself. She almost didn't see him as he approached, but was able to throw up a wall between her and Michio. The Kaguya jumped and ran up the side of the wall, then jumped over it and brought his claws down in a potentially fatal strike. Enko's eyes widened as the distance between them began to close fast, and she pressed her hands into the wall, creating a new wall from the structure she'd created. It was thinner, but it stopped his attack all the same. Michio's claws grazed across the stone and he fell into a roll. The roll brought him to the edge of the stone platform and he grabbed the ledge, bringing his legs crashing into Enko's shoulder blades. She cried out and slammed against the vertical wall she'd created. Michio gave her no time to recover and pressed his hand against her sternum, then pressing his claws against her throat. “Die!” he shouted into her face, and drove his middle claw directly into her windpipe. She choked on her own blood as the claw sank through her neck and out the back, pinning her to the wall. She gagged and then fell still, the light leaving her eyes. Michio was panting, but smirked. “Mission accomplished.” But then the form of Enko dissolved into yet another puddle of water. “I'm getting tired of these games, Enko!” he called out, a scowl plastered across his face, and suddenly a pain flowed through Michio's shoulder. He looked down to see Enko's short sword sticking out of the front of his left shoulder joint. Despite the pain he felt there, he didn't feel as though it would be the death of him. Enko had missed his vital organs altogether. “And I'm getting tired of you not just dying. I don't care if you are The Beast. You'll die here tonight and your name will be forgotten in a few years.” she seethed into his ear, then ripped the blade from his shoulder. He grunted from the agony that shot through him in jolts and collapsed to one knee. “You think you have what it takes to kill me?” he asked, and she laughed. “I have more than enough of what it takes. Do you have what it takes to die?”“What?”She said nothing, and he looked over his shoulder. “What the hell does that even mean?”“You know what? I don't really know. I'm tired, and my brain's not working right. Just die already!” Enko raised her blade and then brought it down, but Michio was not content to just follow her orders. He spun as he rose, catching her wrist with his left claws, followed by the claws of his right hand sinking into her stomach. She gasped and fell into him. The two of them tumbled to the floor with her on top of him. Apparently, this was the real Enko, and he had finally dealt her a killing blow. She coughed as his claws remained in her gut, causing her to grunt as her muscles contracted against the object embedded in her stomach. “Maybe... Maybe you got the chance after all...” she muttered, and he scoffed. Blood flowed from the wound onto his own stomach, soaking his sneaking suit with her life fluid. “You put up a hell of a fight, Enko. It's not one I'll soon forget.” he replied, and she smiled. “If only you'd been born before I left the village, perhaps... perhaps you would have joined me then...”“Who's to say, but it's stupid to dwell on what could have been.” he told her, pushing her off of him and pulling the claws from her gut. She cried out in pain as she was tossed to the stone floor, but he didn't care. She was still his enemy and his mission was still to capture her or kill her. But he'd seen what she was capable of. No cage would be able to hold her unless they put one of the ANBU on watch to keep her from manipulating the stone around her. She needed to die, and Michio had given his word to the Kazekage that her head would be on his desk. Michio sat on top of her, a knee on each side of her as he straddled her stomach. The pressure on her wound kept her from moving, and her breath was shaky. Michio pulled his left claws from her wrist and she whimpered from the pain, which oddly excited Michio's bloodlust. Perhaps he truly was a beast, a predator that found joy in sadism. He squashed the thoughts. There would be time for reflection later. The Kaguya pressed the outer claw of his right hand against her throat and stared into her eyes. “Any last requests, Enko?”Despite her dying form, she smiled at him. “Only two. Don't let this village corrupt you... Kaguya Michio. It will try to draw you in, make you like them. Don't fall for it. They'll... they'll throw you to the wolves faster than you can blink...” She told him, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She grunted as the muscles in her stomach, torn as they were, tried to constrict and slow the flow of blood. It didn't work. Her eyes closed and the tears fell down the sides of her head. Michio thought on her words but shook his head. “No one makes me like anyone else. I am Kaguya Michio, the Beast of the Sand, and that will never change.” She laughed and then grunted again, raising a hand and cupping Michio's left cheek. “If you'd only been around before I left...”“Stop. I told you it's foolish to dwell on that. What's your second request?” “Don't let me... suffer... just do it.”Michio nodded and raised his right arm over his left shoulder, and she smiled at him one more time, watching him with her eyes open. “I have dreamed a dream... but now that dream is lost to me...” she muttered, and it gave Michio pause, but then he brought his claws down in a slashing motion, slicing her throat wide open. Just before impact, she said something, but it was too quiet for Michio to hear. As the blood drained from her body, spurting all over Michio's front, he swung again, this time cutting down to the bones of her spinal column. It only took one more strike to dislodge her head from the rest of her body and it rolled away. The deed was done. Enko, the leader of the Zephyrs, now lay dead underneath him. But even though he was successful in his mission, the one eyed Kaguya could not help but feel sadness. She wasn't evil. Only guilty of coordinating the evil things that the Zephyrs were going to do anyways. He frowned and stood up, still coated in her blood. His emotions about having to kill her were confusing to him. He'd never shown any remorse in killing anyone else in the past, so why now? Michio shook his head and walked over to where Enko's head had settled after it had stopped rolling. Looking down, he could see every detail of her face. Her steel blue eyes that had glazed over. Her mouth that now hung open. Her hair that was matted against her head. He stared at her facial features for a minute, searing them into his mind before grabbing her decapitated head by the hair and picking it up. It weighed a good eleven pounds if Michio had to guess. Eleven pounds of hopes and dreams. Eleven pounds of failure. His body began to become more and more sore by the minute as the effects of the soldier pill began to wear off. He began walking back to the main hall, passing the cage that Enko had tried to lock him in to drown him, passing the numerous puddles of water that had been her water clones, passing the wall she'd put up to stop Michio from reaching him, and finally made it back. As he entered the room, he saw that it was a massacre. There were several bodies that were burnt, more of them had arrows and swords sticking out of their bodies, as well as kunai knives and shuriken. He looked to his team and his jaw hung open. They were still standing, though each of them had seen their fair share of damage. Kuno's left arm was cut open and drops of blood were dripping from his fingers. His right arm was pressed against the wound. He saw wounds on Shinken as well. Kuno looked to Shinken and shook his head in disbelief. “Shinken, I knew that you were an astounding fighter, but your movements were precise and your attacks timed perfectly. You're like a machine.”“And I am The Beast!” Michio called, walking forward and stepping over the bodies that laid all over the floor. “Michio-kun. Good to see you're still alive. Enko escaped then, I take it?”Michio scowled, “What the hell kind of question is that? Of course she didn't escape! Screw that b***h, this is Suna!” And with that, he held up Enko's head, forcing her shocked expression to stare blankly at Kuno and Shinken. It was Kuno's turn for his mouth to drop open. “How did... I mean... She's a higher caliber of shinobi than you are! How were you able to take her out?!” Kuno nearly shouted when he asked, and Michio raised an eyebrow. “Clearly not. She did some good work on me though. She damn near drowned me, threw me through one of the stone pillars, and then ran me through the shoulder with her knife. The only reason I survived was because of that soldier pill you gave me earlier, Kuno. If I'd have eaten it then, I would've been toast.” Kuno didn't frown or smile, but merely nodded at Michio. “Maybe you're more dangerous than I thought....” he muttered, but in the quiet of the room, Michio heard him perfectly. He felt a sense of pride from the words his Jounin had spoken, because if he was dangerous, maybe people would think twice before picking a fight with him. He turned to Shinken and smirked, “So, was it good for you too?”Quote: +7615 Total Team Training Including Missions 77,566/XX Non-Team Training: 623/xx Rumor Mill: 1,914/1000 COMPLETE Merchant's Folly: 1,417/1000 COMPLETE Head(band) Hunting: 1,703/1000 COMPLETE Fetch: 2,707/2000 COMPLETE Delivery for the Arts: 1,677/1,000 COMPLETE Bandana Bandits: 9,691/8000 COMPLETE Escort the Hidden Leaf Ambassador!: 8,925/8000 COMPLETE Preventative Measures: 8,973/8000 COMPLETE Shipping and Handling 8,644/8000 COMPLETE Wanted: Dead or Alive 7615/8000

As the two new genin of the village hidden in the sand stood around, Sora looked around as they waited on what their instructors... well former instructors had to say. He knew that they always said something to the graduating class before assigning teams. They also had to go get photo's taken for their shinobi profiles for the village, and a few other random things. His thought process was jolted though as Arina spoke. He looked over in her direction as his attention focused to what she had to say. She was looking at him with a curious look on her face, as she asked what he had meant by because of her. Sora had to think back on what she was talking about, it wasn't hard because there wasn't much that they had said much to each other as of yet. He was about to answer her, however it seemed that the instructors had something else on their minds. He listened intently on what the instructors had to say. It seemed that there would be no team selections, due to political reasons which wasn't normal. They were supposed to be a time of peace weren't they? As it stood though, the entire graduation class was to go and train while waiting on their team assessments so that they wouldn't loose any of the skills in which they had just acquired from the academy. Which immediately came to the one instructor calling out three names... Sora could only think that those names were the names of who had failed the exam. It was then which his mind had snapped his mind back to the question which the female had just asked him.
"Oh... that. I hadn't really gotten around to deciding, wasn't focused on it. However after hearing how dedicated you were to your goals, it helped me narrow down exactly what I wanted from this new career. So thanks." He stated with a smile. As he looked at the young shinobi, his smile shifted as she stated how odd what the instructors had just stated. "Ya.. I'm not sure what's going on, however I don't think that they would postpone teams unless they had something taking up a lot of time. This is something that I can't focus on though as it's way outside my scope right now... However... I did promise you lunch, so I was thinking there's a place that has some pretty good Shabu-Shabu if that works for you." He wasn't really asking, his tone was more of a statement yet again. He still remembered that Arina loved food so he was fairly certain that there wouldn't be an issue there at all. He'd continue to walk with Arina, pointing in the direction of the shop he was talking about which was rather lively looking, however Sora knew that it wasn't at capacity yet just by seeing how many people were close to the entrance. With a smile, Sora made his way into the building. It wasn't over the top, but it was still a popular place for people to eat. Looking around, there were a few free tables near the back however there was a window table which is where the young new shinobi normally sat. As they sat down, an older male walked up to the table with a large metal bowl in hand. "Good afternoon you two, what can I get for you?" Sora spoke up almost right away, because he did promise that he was covering for lunch since Arina covered him for breakfast. "Can we get the Shabu-Shabu special please?" He stated as he looked to the man. There was a nod as the man with the metal bowl headed off to the back. "Hope you're hungry Arina, these platters can be rather large." He stated as he adjusted the headband around his neck. It wasn't something he was use to yet, normally having a lighter fabric there instead of the heavier cloth and metal band which was adhered to it.

Shinken’s trip to the hospital was a short one. They patched him up as best they could, and stopped the bleeding from his wounds, before discharging him. When he exited the front door he ran into his comrades who had another mission for him. Kuno handed the Uchiha another soldier pill and he grimaced. He hated using those damnable things, but at least for today it couldn’t be helped. Knowing what they were about to go up against Shinken wanted to be at full strength so he took the pill and popped it into his mouth. The taste was even worse than he remembered, but he could quickly feel it doing its work. The young Uchiha ignored the conversation between Michio and their Jounin as they approached the target location. Instead he was running through possible scenarios in his head. Evaluating strategies, and their usefulness in different situations. By the time that they actually arrived he felt that he had a plan of attack for nearly any given situation. The location Enko had chosen as her base of operations was highly secure, there was only one way in and one way out. That could prove a problem if they did indeed have overwhelming numbers. By the time they fought through all of the minions who knows what Enko could have prepared for them. Before Shinken could finish formulating a plan Michio took off ahead of the group. The Uchiha sighed and stepped off of the roof they had been scouting from. His descent was controlled and just before he hit the ground he slowed himself down so that his feet gently clacked against the ground. Michio was not as graceful and his landing almost made the Uchiha wince. Before Shinken could react Michio powered through the door and right into a group of at least 20 men. “Damnit Michio!” Shinken growled as he took flight and dodged his way through the crowd. It was difficult to follow his teammate through all of the chaos but he managed it. The Uchiha received a few cuts and scrapes from weapons that had nearly found their mark. He hadn’t activated the Sharingan yet. That was his trump card if things got too out of hand, and he needed to save every ounce of chakra he had for the fight with Enko. Before the young gennin knew it they were surrounded by at least 50 men. That didn’t bode well but he already had a plan for this kind of situation. He formed the hand seal required to make his smoke clones and had them become the outer perimeter. As he retreated into the center all of the Zephyrs stopped as their sashes flared a bright green. This was their chance to regroup and Kuno knew it too. He called for a defensive formation and Shinken obliged. Surrounding his teammates with the clones. It wasn’t long before Enko showed up. While she was talking all of the clones were building up fire nature chakra in their mouths. Shinken was going to thin the numbers of these gang members with a massive corona of fire. However when Enko took off Michio pushed his way through the crowd with his taijutsu technique and went after her. If he wasn’t so busy focusing on the jutsu he was about to perfom Shinken would have cursed out loud. As it was he was just barely able to get his clones out of the way of his teammate and maintain the fireball jutsu. When Michio was safely out of harm's way the Uchiha let loose with his fireball technique. A wave of fire pushed outward from the center of the room, washing over a good half of the enemy forces. The smell of burning flesh filled the room, along with the sounds of screaming agony. When the fire finally dispersed and the smoke cleared there was a circle of torched corpses around Shinken and Kuno. The Jounin looked surprised at how brutal and efficient the Uchiha had been with his technique, but there was no time for compliments as the remainder of the enemy forces closed in on the two sand ninja. Shinken was panting and sweating. That technique had taken a lot out of him, he estimated he only had about half of his chakra left, but as the Zephyrs closed in he knew he had no choice but to activate the sharingan in himself and all of his clones. He did so just in time to hold the defensive perimeter from the attackers. His clones ducked and weaved around bladed attacks trying to buy the real Shinken time to come up with a follow up to his massive fire jutsu. “Shinken! Can you hold the line? I have a plan!” Kuno shouted as he began to weave hand seals. The young Uchiha smirked and nodded. Now that his focus was only on holding the line he was able to go on the offensive. He moved from clone to clone weaving in with their blocks to launch precise counter attacks. One by one the enemy fell before him. It wasn’t until about two minutes into holding the line that the first clone fell. Shinken cursed but rushed over to fill the gap. He got there just in time to deliver a powerful kick to the stomach of one of the gang members shoving him back through the gap and impaling him on the blade of his ally. The gap he created was quickly filled by two more of the Zephyrs who both moved in with simultaneous punches. The young Uchiha saw the attacks coming a mile away and was able to catch both attacks and roll backward. As the Zephyrs fell on top of him he kicked them both in the stomach which threw them both up into the roof. As they hit the ground Shinken was able to grab a kunai from their unconscious bodies and rush forward back into the line. He met an overhead sword blow with his newly acquired weapon before pushing the attack to the side and delivering a side kick to the man responsible. He stumbled back and knocked over some of his fellow gang members. That was when two more of the clones were struck with blows significant enough to disperse them. Shinken fell back as did his clones, and the circle got smaller. They had to hold the line until whatever Kuno was planning was ready. So they went of the offensive. The clones began to move with calculated grace, They would move just enough to evade and then use the enemy's momentum against them in brutal counter attacks. Sometimes they would even use gang members as shields against their fellow thug’s attacks. Still more of the clones fell and soon the circle was only 4 clones strong. That was when Kuno’s Jutsu was finally ready. “Get down Shinken! Wind Style: Blade Storm Shuriken!” Kuno shouted as he formed the final hand seal. Shinken and his clones dropped to the ground as a tornado of wind flared up around Kuno and blades of wind chakra were flung from inside of it. Soon the room was covered in blood and dead gang members. The Jounin’s technique had taken care of the last of the Zephyrs. Before either one of them could celebrate one final gang member stood up. Shinken didn’t have any clones left to stop the man from ramming his blade into Kuno’s arm. The Jounin was caught off guard and the blade sunk deep into his flesh before he was able to kick the man away and into a wall where he was knocked unconscious. The young Uchiha wondered exactly how much therapy that man was going to need when he woke up in pile of body parts and blood. Kuno complimented Shinken on how efficient he had been. The Uchiha simply gave his Jounin a smirk and nodded. When Michio claimed to have taken out Enko by himself Shinken didn’t believe what he was hearing. He then felt a pang of guilt as his partner produced the woman’s head. His guilt was not for what his partner had done, but rather because he had doubted his abilities even for a second. When Michio made a joke in poor taste about the slaughter that had happened while he was away the young Uchiha scanned the room, and realized the amount of lives that had just been lost. Oddly enough he didn’t feel guilty about killing them all. He knew that they had families to go back to, and that at least some of them were just trying to scrape by, but he found himself welling up with pride. He had protected his village from a credible threat and taken out what amounted to a full platoon of men. Even the smell of blood and burning flesh didn’t do much to dampen his mood. He looked back to his teammate and gave him a smirk. One that showed he took a little bit too much pride in what he had just done. “They didn’t stand a chance.” He said through his smirk. Even to him it sounded cold, but it got his message across. Kuno eyed shinken warily. The Jounin felt uncomfortable with how unfazed his two gennin were by all of this death. It was like the two were at home in it. In a time of war they might have been the pride of the battlefield, but here in a time of peace he would have to keep an eye on them. “Come on let's go report to the Kage” Shinken said as he headed for the door. He had to watch his step around the corpses. Some of them were still smoking and smouldering, and the floor was slick with blood. As he looked down he saw that his clothing was covered in red stains. He knew he would never get that much blood out of his clothing, he would simply have to use part of this paycheck to buy a new outfit. As he walked past he saw one man desperately gasping for air. He had avoided the main brunt of Kuno’s attack, but he had been caught in the side. It looked like a blade of wind had grazed the man’s right side and pierced a lung. Laying in front of him was someone who had clearly been trying to protect him. His protector was in several pieces and the man had a horrified look on his face as Shinken stepped towards him. “I...I...Gi...ve...Up.” The gang member gasped as blood spewed from his lips. The young Uchiha was no medical ninja but he could clearly see the man wasn’t going to make it without immediate treatment. Shinken looked back to Kuno and Michio. This time there was no smirk on his face. Instead he held a solemn expression. In what he was about to do there was no glory. No pride to be found. Shinken rolled a nearby body off of a sword and looked at the man with almost sympathetic eyes. It was one thing to kill someone in battle, but to take the life of an opponent who was already defeated seemed wrong somehow, especially seeing the obvious sacrifice someone had made trying to protect this man. The young gennin had to respect that bond. He hoped that if the time ever came his and Michio’s bond would prove to be just as strong. “I can’t do anything but give you a quick death. It’s better this way.” He said as he pulled back his arm to strike down with the blade. The man cringed as best as he was able to, but the sword sank deep into his neck spraying the young gennin with even more blood. He dropped the blade and turned to walk out the door. It wasn’t long before the group reached the Kage’s office and Michio dropped Enko’s head on Jin’s desk. The Kage looked disappointed but nodded in affirmation that the job was done. Shinken didn’t say anything but as soon as he was excused he left to treat his wounds and clean off the bloop that had now caked itself to his face. He didn’t want his parents to see him like this so instead he headed for Michio’s apartment. He had a spare key now, but he was careful to enter quietly and sneak into the bathroom before Shisara could see the state he was in. He had no wish to give her a heart attack. INDENT“So thanks,” Arina smiled in response somewhat embarrassed. The tint on her cheeks became a slightly darker shade of pink than normal; however, it was only noticeable in the slightest if you were really paying attention. There was not really a need to feel the way that she did, but it seemed a natural response as the girl was not accustomed to socializing with others. “You are welcome… I suppose,” the young girl kind of mumbled under her breath. She was not even sure whether or not he had the capabilities of hearing her response but it was the thought that mattered, right? Afterwards, Sora suggested lunch and Arina was happy to let them change the subject to something that she was more comfortable with. Food.
INDENT“Shabu-Shabu,” the young girl nodded approvingly while contemplating what shop he had in mind. The young girl was quite familiar with the village businesses, particularly those establishments where food was provided. Either way, Sora was providing the lunch so she allowed him to take the lead. She happily skipped along a half step behind while he pointed in the direction of the shop. He seemed to be intently looking towards something, so she attempted to follow his gaze to a rather crowded shop which she assumed to be their final destination before eating. ‘Wow,’ she narrowed her gaze trying to figure out which part of the crowd was grouped together and those who would need individual seating. ‘I wonder how many seats are going to be available,’ her eyes began to widen at the idea that they may have to wait for their lunch a little longer than anticipated.
INDENTGrowl. Arina’s stomach became to make various gurgling noises allowing the entire village to hear her shameful hunger, though she had eaten a full and hearty breakfast… and that pre-examination snack… ‘That is it,’ the young girl firmly decided, ‘It must have been the exams! Using all that chakra really took a toll on my body, which is the only reason!’ Some of the villagers began to turn and take small glances at the skinny girl. She could only assume what they were thinking, ‘The same thing they always say.’ People would always ask her if she actually ate. They just assumed that the young girl starved herself, so she could remain skinny like the rest of the girls always on some sort of eat nothing diet. Arina grimaced at the thought of girls who could possibly live that way.
INDENTSurprised that Sora walked past the array of different people straight into the shop, the young woman followed him hesitantly nodding apologetically as they passed other villagers. When Sora stopped abruptly to scan the area obviously choosing his preference of personal space, she finally looked up to see what kind of damage they were looking at as far as waiting. “Whew,” Arina let out a rather loud sigh of relief upon noticing that more towards the back of the shop there were quite a few empty tables just waiting for the two. Sora promptly chose the seat toward the corner which was a window seat and almost as soon as they had chosen their seats and sat down, someone was there to greet and service them.
INDENTSora ordered for both of them which did not bother Arina in the slightest. He was going to be covering the check, so it was his prerogative to choose what he felt like spending his money on. Truth of the matter was that just by choosing this shop and a full meal; he was already going to be spending double what she had this morning on breakfast. "Hope you're hungry Arina, these platters can be rather large." The young man stated matter-of-factly before fidgeting with his arm band. ‘He has no idea…’ Arina smiled sheepishly only being able to nod in response for fear that she might just end up making a fool of herself by laughing heartily.
INDENT“What were you thinking for training? I have got plenty to preoccupy me if you wanted to go our separate ways after we finished lunch but that’s up to you,” Arina questioned while gesturing towards her shoulder bag which was filled with learning materials that was placed beside her in the seat. “The majority of my training is going to be chakra and chakra control. I suppose it would not hurt to work on my weak spots; but the former are what is really necessary to excel in my chosen profession,” the young girl smiled as they were approached by the older gentleman from before but this time holding two bowls which he very carefully placed in front of the two new Genin.
INDENT“Yes,” the young girl exclaimed picking up the chopsticks placed towards her right side. She carefully situated the utensils into her left hand while examining the piping hot bowl of liquid and various other ingredients. Many would mock her for eating hot lava but it never really seemed to bother the young girl. Her taste buds never really seemed affected from the experience either, so when she was hungry… the girl was going to eat! She thrust her chopsticks into the boiling waters searching for the steak cutlets in particular and once getting a firm grip, she pulled the cutlet towards her mouth being careful to keep the meat above the bowl just in case she lost her grip for some unknown reason. As soon as she bit into the steak cutlet, the meat almost seemed to melt in her mouth and her stomach growled a little quieter appreciating this token of kindness. She quickly finished the cutlet before moving on to a few various different vegetables. She was a huge fan of the mushrooms that were native to this area. They were so much better than any of the more foreign mushrooms that she had bought in the markets before. Arina shot a cheesy smile across the table, “Thank you for this wonderful meal, Sora!”
INDENTAfter the original first few bites and slurps of the meal which made the young girl look ravenous, Arina slowed down her eating pace because her stomach had finally stopped panging with hunger. “Phew. I think when we start training I may have to bring multiple lunches,” she laughed nervously even though she was being painfully serious. It might be nice to bring a few snacks too.

The young Kaguya heard the response from his partner and began to move to the door when he saw Shinken stop at the door. A man had survived whatever attack had been launched against him, but had only truly survived instant death. He was quite profusely bleeding in his side and his skin was paper white. He was also visibly shaking, likely from a rapidly cooling body temperature. Michio watched from a distance as the man surrendered, but Michio knew as well as Shinken and Kuno did that this man was not long for this world. He'd lost too much blood to make it down the street, much less to the hospital which was over twenty minutes away even if Michio ran as fast as he could on the rooftops. Not to mention all of the jostling that would do, and that could just make the wound even worse, maybe even force a broken bone to pierce a vital organ. No, it was unfortunate, but this fallen enemy had to be put out of his misery since none of them had enough medical ninjutsu experience to heal this man. Michio slowly walked over, extending the middle claw on his right hand as he held Enko's head in his left, and was only a few feet away before he noticed that Shinken had retrieved a blade and spoke to the fallen Zephyr. He frowned and retracted the claw, but felt a small amount of pride in Shinken's resolve. The young Uchiha was becoming a man more and more every day. Michio stared at the scene and smiled on the inside. Shinken would be a great leader someday. His thought train was derailed when Shinken slit the man's throat with a downward strike from the blade, and Michio pursed his lips. 'That wasn't the quickest death you could have given him. A stab to the brain would have been more efficient...' he observed, but shook his head. The look on Shinken's face was the same as Michio's; disappointment at having to kill someone who was incapable of defending himself. He silently hoped that if that Roku character was watching, he wouldn't tell the Kazekage a wild tale that painted them as mindless murderers. Although it didn't take long, it still took an hour for the members of Team One to reach the Kazekage's office. They had placed Enko's head inside of a bag as to not cause alarm to any citizens of the village who happened to see them. Instead, the wounds of the three, as well as the blood soaked clothing of Michio and Shinken earned stares of concern and bewilderment from a great number of the late night bar hoppers. Without incident, Team One reached the Kazekage's building and went straight to the office where Jin sat waiting. “I see you have returned... alive.” the Kazekage said to them as they entered the office and he saw their condition. He was about to say 'unharmed' but t would not have fit. “We have, Lord Kazekage.” Kuno said, still holding his arm as he bowed his head, then looked to Michio, who nodded and bowed as well. Michio placed the bag on the Kazekage's desk and then pulled on the opening. Enko's shocked expression stared up and at the Kazekage, who stared back with a grim expression on his face. He looked up at Michio and nodded, and the Kaguya smiled sadly. “I'm a man of my word.” he said simply, and the Kazekage laughed once then closed the bag again. “I can see that. Congratulations on the success of your mission. I wish things could have gone differently and that we would have Enko alive, as well as most of the Zephyrs, but if wishes came true this would have been a perfect world a long time ago.”
Michio spoke up. “It would have been too dangerous for her to have been taken alive. Enko was able to use Earth Release jutsu and would have just broken out of whatever cell she was put into and start wreaking havoc once again. It's better this way.” “Indeed... I think you underestimated our jailors, but I can see that based upon the information you had at hand, your made whatever decision you felt was best. It's impossible to consider everything when you're in the middle of trying to stay alive. However, I expect better judgment from you in the future, Michio.” Michio nodded and then hissed suddenly as the wound in his shoulder twitched. The Kazekage looked from Michio's impalement wound to Shinken's numerous cuts to Kuno's numerous cuts and the stabbing in his shoulder. “There is more I'd like to discuss with each of you, but due to current circumstances, it can wait until tomorrow morning. In the meantime, go get yourselves cleaned up and get some rest. You've earned it. Dismissed.”Michio watched as Shinken left without saying a word and frowned. 'I wonder just how much that affected him...' he thought, then turned to Kuno. “I'm guessing he's heading to the hospital. We should follow. You could use the treatment, and I don't want Shisara to see me like this. Even though we're just room mates, she doesn't like seeing me hurt.”“Michio, you can drop the act. I already know that you and Shisara are together. I understand why you want to keep it a secret, but please stop acting like I couldn't tell from the first moment we met.” Michio was shocked at first, but then he smirked. “ Yeah, okay. Now stop sidetracking and let's get you to the hospital.”

As Shinken entered the bathroom he caught a glance at himself in the mirror. He was horrified at the sight. He looked like some crazy mass murderer. The sight disturbed him more than he felt it should have and he turned away from the mirror. The thick layer of dried blood cracked as the Uchiha’s expression soured. He quickly turned on the water for the shower and stepped into the path of the flowing water. It was cold and he was forced to suppress a sharp gasp. He wasn’t sure if Shisara was home. There hadn’t really been time to check as he snuck into the bathroom. The door had been unlocked, but she could have easily forgotten to lock it. As the blood caked on Shinken’s body was hit by the water it began to dissolve and he watched the basin turn red as the now colored water spun down the drain. He began to wonder what he might feel or see in his last moments, and if dying would feel just like the bloody water flowing down his body and spiraling down the drain. His thoughts of death then turned to his brother and his fists balled up tightly. What had his older brother, his friend, felt in his last moments? Had he been filled with regret? Or had it been fear? Perhaps his brother had only felt sadness and remorse. He liked to think his brother died proud and defiant, and that his last moments hadn’t been filled with inner turmoil and suffering, but such violent deaths rarely ever held a moment of peace for anyone. Shinken brought his hands up to scrub the blood off of his face and he felt cold water running down his cheeks grow slightly warmer. He wasn’t sure if it was just the water warming up, or if in his thoughts he had began to tear up. A few memories of his brother flashed through his mind, and one in particular stuck around. The day after he had been adopted. The other orphans didn’t like that he had been adopted, and some of the older ones found him, and decided they were going to take out their frustrations on the young boy. His brother, who had recently graduated the academy stepped in and scared them all off. He had told Shinken that he never needed to worry about them or anyone else again. That he would always be there to protect his little brother. As those words passed through the Uchiha’s mind he clenched his fists so tightly that a fresh stream of blood mixed with the water and for a moment he shuddered. How could he do what he did? Even if the village needed to change, getting himself killed wasn’t the way to do it. He had condemned his little brother and his parents to suffer. How in the hell was that protecting them? He had broken his promise, because of his own foolish shortsightedness. Shinken couldn’t help himself, he slammed a fist against the wall causing a resounding bang that would have echoed through several apartments. It took him a moment to get a hold of himself, but when he did he made sure to finish washing his face, and to scrub his body clean of any dried blood. Then as the water turned from lukewarm to hot he slowly sank to his knees and fell back onto the rear wall of the shower. There he simply sat and soaked in the hot water, inhaling the steam and thinking of how his parents would look at him if they could see what he had done. He wondered if they would be proud of him, or ashamed. Maybe they would even be afraid of him. With all of these thoughts flooding his mind he just lowered his head into the stream of hot water and closed his eyes. He went over the battle in his head several times and after questioning his actions finally came to the conclusion that he had done the right thing. Those men may have had families, but they were also criminals and had caused too much pain and trouble in the village, not to mention they had allied themselves with forces opposing their village. No they were enemies through and through. Their families would grieve and move on, most likely better for it in the end. Perhaps it would teach their children the consequences of a life of crime. Having finally made peace with his actions earlier in the night the young Uchiha turned off the water and stepped out of the shower. He towel dried himself off, before reluctantly slipping back into his bloody clothes. He looked at himself in the mirror, and he looked like he had been through a warzone. Given what had happened that night Warzone was an apt description. Knowing that Michio would have had to go to the hospital Shinken went to sneak out of the apartment. That was when he realized that Shisara wasn’t even home. He sighed and stood up, before walking out the door and locking it behind himself. With the apartment secured Shinken began to make his way to the Medical center. It took a while, what with Michio helping Kuno to walk as the Jounin he was helping along was weak from the blood he had lost. “Hey Kuno-sensei, you wouldn't have happened to have brought any of those blood formation pills with you, huh?” Michio asked his team leader, who looked at him out of the corner of his eye. “Michio... do you think that if I brought those, I'd be going to the hospital hanging off of your shoulder?”“Yeah, no, I didn't think so.”Michio and Kuno walked inside the hospital to find that it was very busy. Medical ninja and your everyday nurses were running around like crazy. One of the nurses spotted the two of them and ran over. “We've got two more! Hurry!” she called to her colleagues, who rushed over and separated Michio and Kuno, taking them each to a different room. Michio watched as Kuno was escorted down the hall from him before he was pushed through the door and forced to lay on a bed. Three more nurses entered the room and began to cut away the suit from his torso, but Michio began to struggle. “No! This is the only suit I have! I'll take it off!” he told them, but the nurses shook their heads. “The fabric of the suit is in the wound. If you take it off slowly, you'll lose more blood. Maybe too much. We have to do this.” one of them told the Kaguya, and he scowled. “Then I don't think so!” he protested, but a nurse on his blind side stuck him with a needle. He cried out in surprise, but immediately felt his body begin to stop functioning the way he wanted it to. Within seconds, he could no longer move his arms or legs, and his vision began to get hazy and doubled up on everything in the room. His eyelids became heavy, and it wasn't long before Michio fell unconscious. When he awoke, there was a woman standing over him with her hands held just above his punctured shoulder. He looked down and saw before he felt the wound begin to close up. The feeling was intense as he had been caught off guard, and the Kaguya hissed in pain. “Ouch dammit!” he said aloud, though it was slightly slurred. “This wouldn't hurt if I didn't have to do it, and I wouldn't have to do it if you wouldn't get hurt so damn often.” a familiar voice told him, and Michio recognized it almost immediately. He groaned and closed his eye, turning his head away from the woman. “Good morning, Shisara-chan.” he said, the tone of his voice telling that he wasn't exactly ecstatic to see that it was her doing the healing. Not that she had anything wrong with her technique; it was nearly flawless. It was that he'd come to the hospital to avoid her seeing him in an injured state, and yet here he was, still hurt with her healing him. It was exactly what he didn't want, because he knew what was coming next. It wasn't his fault, but he technically had broken his promise to her once again. Hopefully she'd see that he didn't have a choice. “So...” she started, and he winced, both from the pain of the wound and from the conversation he was dreading. “How did you get yourself hurt this time?”It took a few seconds before Michio responded, but when he did he cleared his throat. “The Kazekage sent us on a mission. We were to take out a rogue shinobi who was leading the newest upstart gang; the Zephyrs. We located their hideout and defeated her and the entire Zephyr gang, but we sustained heavy injuries, all three of us. Well, Shinken less than Kuno and I, otherwise he'd be here too.”Shisara smiled sadly and shook her head. “One of these days, the Kazekage is going to send you on a mission that's going to actually get you killed. That was a job for the ANBU. He had no business sending you on that mission.” Michio turned and looked at her. “Shisara, there was no one else that could have done it. The ANBU were away on a mission investigating a larger threat according to the Kazekage. If Kuno, Shinken, and I had not gone, she would have gone and found a new hiding place.” Shisara looked at him, then turned her eyes back to her hands. “Still though. Why does it always have to be you that gets sent to do the dangerous missions?”Michio laughed at that one and then groaned as his body had shaken with laughter and aggravated the rapidly healing wound. This was taking longer than ever before. Turns out that getting a large knife or short sword shoved completely through your shoulder would take longer to heal than some bruises and torn muscular tissue. “Don't make me laugh...” he told her, and she couldn't help but smile. “It's true, you know? The Kazekage has sent you on nothing but dangerous mission after dangerous mission. You keep coming home to me more broken and bruised than you left. It's getting worse too, because before I was only worried about how beat up you'd be. Now I have to start worrying about if you'll even come home alive. I can't do that Michio. I can't live my life this way. Not if...” and her voice trailed off. Michio stared up at her with a confused expression, and his brow wrinkled as he did so. “Not if what?” And Shisara was silent for a few moments. “Hey. Shisara-chan.” he said and she finally looked at him. “Let me finish this, and then I'll tell you.” she told him, and though he was dissatisfied, he nodded. It took several minutes before Michio's wound was completely healed. Once she was finished, Shisara sat in a chair near the bed and looked frightened, which gave Michio worry. He turned his head as best as he could and looked at her with his only good eye. “Shisara-chan... what's going on?” he asked, and she looked at him with a fear that he had never seen in her eyes before. She opened her mouth to speak, but then closed it again. Michio waited and let her muster her courage. It took another several seconds, but finally she spoke. What she had to say was both devastating and joyful, frightening and miraculous. “Michio-kun.... I'm pregnant.” Michio's eye widened and he stared at her in shock, his expression completely blank as the words set it. He stared at her intently, looking for any sign of a crack of a smile, but none came. She stared at him with anticipation and worry, clearly afraid of how he would react. This was certainly quite some news. “That's.... “ he started, and had to take a second to clear his throat because a lump had formed. He swallowed and gave a small, single, breathy laugh. “That's terrific...” A smile began to form on his lips, and Shisara relaxed slightly, but only slightly. “Is it? Michio, we've only been dating for a month. We aren't supposed to be getting pregnant together and having kids. We haven't even been dating long enough to consider marriage, and I don't want a b*****d child.” Michio smiled at her and sat up, which surprised him that he could do with minimal effort. She was still staring at him with fear in her eyes when Michio spoke again. “Well then, I think there's a very simple solution to that problem.”She couldn't help but laugh at how nonchalant he was being about the whole situation. “Oh yeah? And what's that?”Michio forced himself out of bed and fell to one knee, which startled Shisara greatly. She almost got out of her chair, but he placed a hand on her thigh and took her right hand. “Hizaki Shisara, will you marry me?” he asked, and it was Shisara's turn for her expression to go into complete shock. This was something she had never thought Michio would do, at least not for a good many years. She tried to form words, but despite her attempts, nothing came out. Michio silently awaited her answer, and only now did he notice in his peripheral vision that Sayomi had been standing behind the bed the entire time in his blind spot. She had been exceptionally quiet. But for now, his focus was on the woman before him that he had asked to be his wife. Shisara continued to try and make words before closing her mouth and composing herself. She smiled and nodded, reaching down and, with a strength Michio had forgotten that she had, pulled him up to her. She planted a firm, excited kiss directly on his lips, causing Michio to smile into the kiss before returning it. Sayomi began clapping excitedly for a few brief moments before Shinken burst into the room. “Hey guys!” he called, and all three of them went still. Michio and Shisara were still lip locked, and Sayomi stared directly ahead at her point of admiration. Slowly, Michio pulled away from the kiss and turned to his partner. “Hey Shinken... what impeccable timing you have...” he said simply, staring up at his teammate. As the two new genin sat at the table, he listened as Arina nodded to his statement about being hungry. He knew that she was hungry though, as during their trek to the table they currently were at Sora had heard her stomach growl in disapproval to the young female. As they waited for the food to arrive, the young woman spoke about training. He thought for a moment, there were a few projects that he wanted to get started on however he probably should start training as well. Truth be told, he needed to get working on some of his skills as he wasn't especially good at much besides tinkering and improvising in the field. It was after those thoughts in which his new friend stated that she was going to be working on her chakra control. That wasn't a bad idea actually, if he could get a better handle on his own chakra reserves he wouldn't be wasting any during combat because he'd only be using the chakra that was needed at the time instead of over-using his reserves.
As two bowls of broth were set onto the table, Sora nodded to the older gentleman before looking back over to Arina. "We'll I could use help with chakra control myself... however I also have a few projects I wanted to get started on while we had this break, though the chakra control is much more important at this moment so I think I'll join you." He stated as he took a pair of chopsticks and cracked them apart before taking them into his right hand. He looked over to the young girl across from him as she was visibly happy, grabbing her utensils in her left hand and immediately started to hunt for something within the broth. Like normal, during any activity that involved eating was the time which Sora had noticed the young genin move the fastest. He'd heard some of their classmates wonder if she was just breathing in her food most of the time, however Sora knew that wasn't possible for any human to do so he just ignored them. It was a different sight though when they were at the same table, as she was truly running through the meal.
Sora removed his vision from watching Arina for a moment and reached over while taking a piece from the broth in the second bowl before blowing on it slightly to help cool it down before sticking it into his mouth. It was really well done actually, tender and full of flavor, which didn't surprise him as this spot was well known for the good food and low prices. He wasn't a fast eater like Arina was, it just wasn't like him to rush through anything to be honest. Ether way, Sora stayed silent as he continued to munch on a small portion of meat. He reached over and grabbed a small plate in which he then took some of the vegetables that were cooked in the broth while also grabbing several pieces of beef on the plate as well. Another thing that Sora rarely did was stretch out more then he needed to, hence the plate for his variety of bite sized pieces. As they ate, the young genin watched as soon Arina slowed from her rushed hunger to a somewhat average eating pace. Did she starve herself? I doubt it... she just loves food too much He thought as he continued onto his next piece of beef and carrot. There was a pause in her chewing suddenly as she finished what she had been working on before shooting him a rather overly wide smile before stating "Thank you for this wonderful meal, Sora!” His smile back wasn't nearly as wide, it was honest though. "Not a problem Arina, just glad that we are finally out of the academy..." Truth be told, sitting in a large building like that bored the days out of Sora. It wasn't that he was free-spirit or lazy or anything, the problem was that it was pure theory and barely any actual field work. How were they suposed to work on their skills without using them in a situation where there is a chance things could go sideways... even if the threats were faked. At least at that point all the students would be able to work out any fears that may be inside without being discovered before something real came up. If someone froze during battle it would be like looking after a corpse, and Sora surely didn't want to be in that category.
After Arina slowed her eating pace, she spoke by stating that she should bring extra lunches with her during training before she started to laugh. The laugh wasn't full though, it sounded like it was held back for some reason. Sora nodded as he took some more of the food with his utensils before speaking again. "Well you'll have to do that tomorrow I guess, for now though lets just take our fill of this lunch." He stated just before stuffing his mouth once again. Soon after that though, a question popped up into his head. Instinctual Sora sped up his chewing and swallowed the food before opening up his mouth again. "By the way.... what's in the bag you pointed to earlier? you said it was something that could keep you occupied if you weren't doing chakra control training correct?" Maybe he could look at the books or what ever was in the bag if she would let him. The more he knew the more he could use the rest of his information to work on other idea's he had after all, and maybe it would spark another idea within him. After all, there was still plenty more tinkering that he wanted to do after all.

As Shinken made his way through the sand village the streets were very quiet. The few shops that were still open glowed like beacons in the dark of the night. If he hadn’t been underage he probably would have stopped in for a pitcher full of sake after the day he had. The sounds coming from the nearby bar made it clear that whoever was inside was having a good time. Shinken smiled a little bit. This was exactly why he knew he was right to fight for the village no matter the cost. It wasn’t for the Kage, it was for the people of the village, like his parents and his comrades. As that thought left his mind he remembered how he and Michio had met. They had been through alot, and they had made both friends and enemies. In their own way they had already had a major impact on the sand village, and they were only gennin. What would it be like when they became Chuunin, or Jounin for that matter? How far spread would the impact of their actions be then? After wondering for a moment, Shinken decided that those questions would be better considered at a later date. For now he redoubled his pace and began jogging toward the Hospital. When he arrived there he immediately noticed how busy the hospital was. There had obviously been a major fight that he hadn’t been a part of. Judging by how intense the mood was inside the building the fight didn’t go as planned. Even if they did succeed they must have suffered heavy casualties. It took almost five minutes of trying to get someone's attention, and even then they were very curt in their interaction, just barely answering the young Uchiha’s question about where his friend and team leader were. With that information acquired the young gennin made his way to Michio’s room. As he entered he announced his presence, but was utterly caught off guard when he found Michio and Shisara with their lips locked. He looked down at the floor and smiled nervously. He had the feeling that he had interrupted something important. His suspicions were confirmed by the tone in Michio’s voice when he spoke. Impeccable timing really meant it couldn’t have been worse. Knowing he had already ruined the moment Shinken spoke his words quickly. “Oh I just wanted to make sure you were ok Michio. I’m going to go check on Kuno Sensei now.” He said in a voice filled with apologetic undertones. The young Gennin didn’t even notice the way Sayomi was looking at him. She seemed star struck by whatever had happened in this room before the Uchiha arrived. In fact he walked out without so much as a nod in her direction. His next stop was a few rooms down. The hospital wasn’t silent tonight. It was filled with the groans and cries of pain from his fellow ninja. It was so busy he was almost knocked over by a doctor and a nurse hurrying down the hallway with a stretcher. When he finally stepped into Kuno’s room he saw the man bandaged up, and laying in bed. For a moment he thought his team leader was asleep, but the man turned to Shinken and gave him a weak smile. “Shinken I’m glad to see you. I wanted to make sure you were ok. You seemed pretty shaken up about everything that happened tonight.” Kuno said as he gestured for Shinken to come closer. The young uchiha did just that and walked over to the older ninja’s bedside. He looked around the room and saw several other ninja in much worse shape than Kuno. He found himself thanking his lucky stars that he hadn’t been assigned to their mission. Then a thought occurred to him. What could have possibly done all of this to the Anbu? His thoughts were quickly cut off as Kuno noticed the look on his student’s face. “They’ll be alright. It was a hell of a fight out there from what I’ve heard. The medical ninja are going to be busy all night…” Kuno stopped talking then, realizing that he might be making the situation worse. The man wasn’t quite sure what to say. Shinken was a bit odd for a sand ninja. He seemed to flip from cold and calculating to a kind and caring person. It was almost as if there was a switch in his brain that flipped. Perhaps that was something he could teach the boy to use later. For now he was just concerned about the young gennin’s mental state. After a moment of being lost in his own thoughts Shinken spoke up. “I’m alright Kuno Sensei. It’s just been a lot to comprehend in such a short time. I guess I never really thought being a ninja would be quite like this.... But I will protect this village and the people in it no matter what. I know that’s what I was meant to do. I was given these skills...these eyes...and I have to use them. I’m not saying I couldn’t use some time to mull all of this over...Maybe even a drink if I was older, but you don’t need to worry about my commitment. I’m a ninja of the Hidden Sand and that means I don’t give up, and I don’t stray from my path.” Shinken said flashing Kuno a small reassuring smile. Kuno gave his student a smile in return and looked at him with understanding eyes. The boy might even make a great leader one day. He was surprised that someone as young as Shinken understood so deeply what it meant to be a shinobi, and even to an extent what the true meaning of strength was. The Jounin was sure that his student would go far in the ninja world. “I’m glad you’re ok Shinken. Maybe when I get out of here you and I can go for that drink. I will admit it’s been pretty crazy lately. I can tell you things weren’t this intense back when I was a gennin. I didn’t see a mission like that last one until after I hit Chuunin. You’re handling all of this very admirably. You and Michio both. I’m proud to call you my students.” The Jounin stated with a soft smile. Shinken bowed his head in thanks for the praise from his teacher. He hadn’t heard something that kind said about him from someone other than his parents in a long time. Since before his brother died in the attack on the village. That made him think of all of the time he and his brother used to spend on the upper platform of the canyon entrance. They used to go there to look out over the whole village. He decided that it was about time he go up there again. The young gennin hadn’t been up on the walls since before his brother was killed. If his brother’s spirit was anywhere that was where it would be, and he felt it was high time he finally said goodbye. He had never really gotten the chance, and that seemed like the place to do it. “I’d like that Kuno sensei, and I’m glad that you’re alright, but there’s something I have to do. I’ve been putting it off for a very long time, and I think I’m finally ready.” The young Uchiha said as he bowed and turned to leave the hospital room. Kuno nodded in understanding and simply gave Shinken a small wave as he left. The young gennin walked out of the hospital and headed for the entrance to the village completely unaware that he was being followed. Sayomi was darting from shadow to shadow behind him. She was concerned about his mental well being after she had heard the tail end of the conversation that had taken place between Shinken and Kuno. It took the young Uchiha some time to walk through the dimly lit streets of the village. He wasn’t even sure that it was safe to be walking about tonight considering everything that had happened, but if he didn’t say goodbye now, he might put it off for another 3 years. He didn’t want that, and so he continued to make his way to his destination despite the potential danger. When he arrived at what was essentially the gateway to the village he looked up at the spot where he and his brother had spent so much time watching the village from above, and talking about hopes and dreams. His brother had always used the wall walking technique and carried the young Uchiha up to the top, and so following in his older brother’s footsteps Shinken did the same and began to scale the wall by himself. By the time he had reached the top the moon hung high in the sky and cast a pale white glow over the rooftops of the village below. Shinken smiled a little as he looked down on the sight below him. Then he felt a pang of sadness that his brother wasn’t with him. “It’s been a long time.” Shinken said quietly, speaking more to himself than any spirit that might be lingering around. He almost felt silly doing this, but it was his way of giving the brother he remembered the send off he deserved. After a momentary pause He took a deep breath and began his speech. “Where do I even begin? it's been a long time since you left us. You know it hasn't been easy for me mom and dad. After you attacked the village People started looking at us differently. They didn't see us as fellow villagers they saw us as a threat, as traitors. Mom and dad did their best to shield me from it, but I knew what was happening. Eventually I decided that I wanted to change things for our family. I wanted to make it so the people would look at us with pride again. I enrolled in the Ninja Academy. I studied hard in my classes and practiced every day. Mom and Dad weren't happy with my choice but you know how they are. They supported me every step of the way. Eventually it came time to take our tests. The woman administering the exam was cruel and vindictive. She even broke several students. I don't think they'll ever be the same...When it came to my turn I managed to pass with flying colors, but it wasn't easy. In fact I think I almost failed. After the tests I went to the training grounds. It was there that I met my future teammate. He was training there… of course he was. He was at the training grounds wasn’t he? Anyway the Chuunin was there too, and I just couldn't sit there. Some switch flipped in my brain and all I saw were the students she had broken. I sent her to the hospital that day. It was shortly after that that we were summoned to the Kage’s office. He put Michio and I on the same team. We didn't have to wait long before we went on our first mission. We were supposed to be guarding this store from some thugs that wanted to rob it. What ended up happening was a little bit different. I fought thugs out in the street while Michio fought them in the store. I managed to take all my targets down, and in the process I found out I was an Uchiha. Who would have thought little Shinken was a natural born ninja right? It turns out that I can activate the Sharingan. They ran from me when they saw it, but I caught them and we brought them in. Michio on the other hand Smashed the inside of the store all to hell in his fight. He was in rough shape at the end of the mission and had to go to the hospital, but we got the job done. My teammate is a good guy but he's blunt and careless, angry and sometimes a little slow. Still there's no one I'd rather have as my partner. That brings me to our second mission. That did not go well. We were assigned a team leader. She wasn't much older than me, and she had a serious chip on her shoulder. She demanded to test our abilities before we went out on our mission. That's where things started to go sideways. I fought her and lost, as did Michio, but he was stubborn and wouldn’t give up. She tried to break him and I stepped in. The two of us fought again and this time I won, but the cost was high. When I tried to leave the village to finish the mission I was stopped by one of the Kage’s henchman. his name was Roku. He said that I had to head back, and that if I didn't I would be a criminal. So Michio and I went back to the Kage’s office. It was there that we were stripped of our privileges as a ninja and suspended for a month. Our previous team leader’s sisters were not happy with what had happened to her. I had caused her permanent physical injury and so they came after Michio and I. They permanently blinded him in one of his eyes and would have done much worse to both of us if it hadn't been for Sayomi and the head of their clan stepping in. Eventually we were reinstated the two of us went on many missions together. Tonight's mission made me think of you. Of how you must have felt at the end. I wondered if you were afraid, or defiant. I killed a lot of people today, and I can honestly say I would do it again. I think I understand why you did what you did, and while I agree with the sentiment I think that there's a better way. You were right that the village has to change, but trying to take it over by force is not the right path. I'm going to change it from inside, and I'm going to protect the people that I know you held dear. You once told me that the strength of a village doesn't lie in its Ninja, but in the people they protect. I have to say I finally understand what you meant. I will protect these people even if it costs me my life. I want you to know that I forgive you and that in a way I will carry on your spirit. I will always remember you as my kind older brother…. I guess… I guess this is my way of saying goodbye.” Shinken finished his speech with a sigh. He felt a mix of sadness and relief, that quickly hardened into resolve. He wasn’t going to let his family down, not even his brother, the man everyone in the village viewed as a traitor, only he knew better. His brother was just trying to change a system that bred hate and cruelty, and for that they had killed him. Sure he had gone about it the wrong way, but it was his intent that the young Uchiha respected. Almost as if on queue, the desert wind picked up blowing sand across the dunes and ruffling Shinken’s hair. For just a moment he was sure he felt someone’s hand on his shoulder but then the sensation was gone. With one last look down at the village Shinken nodded to himself. He had done what he came here to do, and having completed his task began to make his way back down the sheer face of the cliff. When Shinken reached the bottom of the cliff face he found Sayomi there waiting for him. She looked concerned, but didn’t say anything to him at first. After a few moments she worked up the courage to say what was on her mind. “What the hell were you doing up there? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Do you know how dangerous it is out here?” She demanded as she stormed towards the young gennin. There was an edge of anger to her words, but underneath it Shinken could feel her genuine concern for his wellbeing. “It was something I had to do. I was saying goodbye to someone special to me. I know it’s dangerous out here tonight, and it wasn’t a decision I made lightly, but if I didn’t do it now, I might never have done it at all.” The young Uchiha said sounding almost apologetic. He honestly didn’t want to worry anyone, but with all that had happened tonight he needed to say goodbye and get it off of his chest. Sayomi’s expression softened when she heard the words goodbye. Her face clearly said that she was puzzled by what the Uchiha had said, but he wasn’t sure if she was going to press the issue. After a few moments she spoke again, but she was much quieter this time. “Who did you….have to say goodbye to?” She asked obviously trying not to upset Shinken. He let out a sigh and looked up at the moon for a moment before replying. “I never said goodbye to my brother. The village might remember him as the man who attacked them and wrought havoc before being justly killed, but I remember him as a kind older brother, who always looked out for me. He loved this village, and I don’t think he wanted to destroy it. I don’t think he wanted to hurt the people in it either. He just wanted to change it. To make it better. This system we have now, it breeds cruelty and hate, and anger. He wanted the village to be stronger than that. To be united as one people. He wanted ninja to care about each other and protect their village because they loved it. Not because they were paid to, or because they were loyal to their Kage. He just went about it the wrong way…” Shinken said quietly not wanting to be overheard. If anyone found out he still thought about his brother this way any chance he had of redeeming his family might go up in smoke. To his surprise Sayomi just nodded in understanding. “Well at least head back to the apartment with me. We’ll both be safer if we travel together.” The Chuunin said as she motioned for Shinken to head down one of the main streets. He nodded in agreement and the two of them set off towards Michio’s house. It took them some time and, Sayomi jumped at shadows more than once, but eventually they made it to the apartment and headed inside. Shinken’s stomach growled loudly, and he realized that he hadn’t eaten in quite some time. Before he could say anything Sayomi was digging around in the fridge and she pulled out two rice balls and tossed them to the young Gennin. “Eat these, and off with the clothes.” She ordered. Shinken was so stunned both of the onigiri hit him in the face. What had she just ordered him to do? Before he could object she added on to her statement. “Those clothes are soaked with blood. Do you really want to go home tomorrow looking like that? Take them off and I’ll wash them.” She said sternly. Shinken looked around sheepishly and then ducked into the bathroom. He took off his pants, his shirt and his vest, before wrapping a towel around his waist. When he was properly covered he stepped back out into the living room and handed Sayomi his clothes. Neither of them could make eye contact with each other, so Shinken made his way to the couch and picked up the Onigiri off of the floor, before biting into one. As he sat down he made sure that his towel covered as much of his body as possible, and waited for the Chuunin to finish washing his clothes. INDENT “However,” Sora announced after agreeing that chakra control was probably also a very good starting point, “I also have a few projects I wanted to get started.” The young girl looked over questioningly, “Projects? Would you care to elaborate?” The idea of a project intrigued Arina and if it were anything that she was interested, she would be happy to offer her services to help him complete said projects. The young woman waited patiently for Sora to respond to her question, as well as finish his response before continuing on. “I have a few things I am determined to get done before we move on to squads myself. I suppose this odd situation has left us with a rare opportunity to take advantage of before we move on,” the young girl nodded while thinking about all of the theory medical jutsu notes that she had been taking on and off, since they were academy students. The only question was where was she going to begin? Thinking about it logically – Her best bet was probably to start perfecting the jutsu where she used a fire affinity to cause a localized burn to arterial bleeds which would stop any imminent threat of death if someone were to come across a major bleed. The only downside to using this as her beginning jutsu was that her own affinity did not correlate with the jutsu in question which was even more reason to perfect her chakra control.
INDENTThe young girl continued to eat with her more relaxed pace after subduing that substantial hunger that pained her when they first entered the establishment. While fishing her chopsticks around in the sea of miso, she realized that she had demolished the rest of the food within the bowl. The young girl shrugged somewhat disappointed but raised the bowl to her lips drinking the hot liquid down entirely before setting the bowl gently back onto the counter. She could feel a moist feeling which clung to her upper lip and grabbed a nearby napkin to pat down her face. “I think I am going to use the restroom real quick and when I get back I will answer your question about my bag,” Arina grinned before standing up and weaving through the tables to the other side of the store where the women’s restroom was located. INDENTLuckily once through the door, the room appeared to be fairly empty. That meant she had her choice of stall which to most probably seemed like no big deal; however, she loved the family size stall. It was not as cramped! She did not have a phobia of small places but hey, she was allowed to be more comfortable from time to time. Choosing the appropriate stall, she quickly did her business. “Whew… much better,” the young girl announced to no one in particular and concluded that the miso must have just run through her system just like the adults complained about coffee. Once in front of the sink, the young girl turned on just the hot water and poured a generous amount of soap into her hand before rubbing her hands together carefully attempting to get between every finger and into every crevice before rinsing off the soapy bubbles. After ensuring the bubbles were completely rinsed from her hands, she let her hands sit under the hot running water for a few minutes just soaking in the heat. Turning the handle of the water spout to the off position, she looked into the mirror intently before flicking her wrists simultaneously towards the mirror creating splashes all near the edges of the mirror kind of framing her face in the middle. The young girl giggled before grabbing a handful of towels and drying the mirror, as well as her own hands, before tossing the towels and heading back out the door to where her newfound friend was still sitting.
INDENT“I am back,” Arina announced plopped down onto the seat where she had been sitting earlier, “Sorry about that! Anyways, you asked about my bag and I made you wait forever but the answer really is not all that interesting to most of the students that I have ever really talked to. I like to read, so I have plenty of informative books and scrolls that I have been studying since I could read basically. The few that I’ve currently been going back and forth in between reading are ‘The Basics of Chakra Affinity’ and ‘Basic Medical Field Procedure’. There are plenty more if you would like to go through if that is something you think you might be interested in?” The young girl smiled while once again gesturing towards her bag as an invitation to look through the various materials that were held within.
INDENT“If you do look through, I would urge you to be gentle. I will have to return these books back to the library. They know me very well and see me around quite often, so I like to make sure their books are only gently used. I would not want to be barred from using their services in the future,” Arina nodded quietly watching several different scenarios in her mind and all which resulted with her spiraling into a dark, depressing place where she could no longer access the public halls of knowledge. Of course, he could always go to the library to pick his own personal preference of book rather than borrow from her current stash. The only reason to choose one of her books was convenience that they were already readily available.
INDENT“Oh,” the young girl gasped in surprise that she had even forgotten, “I also sort of have my own library if you would like to come over and take a look sometime! I actually am really looking forward to the next couple of months. In the coming future, there should be plenty of book exchanges and used book sales. This is my favorite time of year for sure.” Arina cooed in anticipation of the coming book sales. This was the time of year that shops tried to get rid of old material, so they could make room for the New Year’s big sellers which unfortunately were never the informative novels. The more popular novels were usually graphic novels for dirty old men. The young woman scoffed in slight disgust to herself. You could see the disgust on her face, though to Sora there would appear to be no apparent reason for this.
INDENTShaking the thought from her mind, she realized that Sora actually was just finishing up his meal. ‘Pefecto,’ the young girl thought excitedly, though she tried to remain acting normally while waiting for him to be approached and pay for the meal. She would have to do something later on to repay him for his kindness but that could wait, they still had plenty of time left in the day and the possibilities were endless in how they were going to fill the remainder of that time. The same gentle looking old man approached them and picked up the coin from the table. He smiled giving the two a slight nod to make them aware they were fine to leave whenever it suited them. Arina looked around the shop which by now had completely filled up and there was even a decent line working its way towards the front of the shop waiting on seats to become available. People began to push and shove getting rather assertive probably because of their long afternoons at work. Arina could understand completely considering her stomach began talking loudly every couple of hours to remind her that she needed to eat soon or else, bad things would happen like unimaginable hunger pains.
INDENT‘I suppose that line is our queue to leave,’ the young girl stood from her seat promptly allowing Sora a few moments to adjust before moving away from that bustling shop to somewhere a little more secluded and open – somewhere where the two of them could practice openly without having to worry about anyone getting in the way. “I know where there is a perfect spot,” Arina smiled beginning to lead them away from the shop and down the street. There were a few turns here and there before reaching their destination. She was not even consciously leading the two of them… She was just that familiar with the area to where they were going. Of course, she did not usually go this way with the intent to practice in a rather open field of sorts. It just happened to be close to the library that she enjoyed frequenting which was a bonus because she could stop by before heading home later!
INDENTUpon arriving in front of the library building, the young girl turned around cheesing a grin, as well as holding both her thumbs up, “Perfecto, right?” At first glance, he might have been confused but quickly upon actually looking towards Arina, he would realize there was a ton of open space placed directly behind her body.

'The sound of flapping reaches your ears as a black crow slows it's rapid decent before landing onto your shoulder. Hopping from one foot to the other, it waits for you to take the scroll attached to one of it's legs. Once removed, the crow will immediately take flight with a parting squak.
The scroll reads...'
"You have been enlisted to represent the village in an important diplomatic mission. In three months time you will be expected to arrive in the Land of Earth to assist in a delicate matter that is of the utmost importance. This will be a joint mission with several other Hidden Village shinobi, your actions and results will reflect the strength of our Village, it is expected you will not disappoint. You will be contacted later with more detailed instructions and appropriate funds. Do not share the details of your mission."

A few minutes Shinken had left, Sayomi ran to chase after him in order to give Michio and Shisara the alone time they were going to need. Once they were alone, Michio looked up at Shisara and smiled. “So, future Mrs. Kaguya, what should we do now?”Shisara looked back to him and grinned in a fashion that could only mirror the same one Michio was well-known for, when he wasn't falling into a rage that is. “Well, first we need to disconnect those IV drips and get you checked out, then we should head out to eat something. It seems we've got a few hours to kill, so what do you think?”Michio nodded, but then a crow made it's way into the room, somehow, and landed on Michio's bare shoulder. He grimaced as the bird's claws pressed into his flesh, but made no move to swat at it. Instead, he removed the scroll it had on it's foot. The second he did, it let out a caw and pushed off of his shoulder before flapping it's wings and disappearing back down the hall of the hospital. The Kaguya boy opened the scroll and sat on the bed, reading it over three times before he handed it to Shisara. When she read it over, her expression fell. “This is overdoing it. You just got done with a mission. A mission that could have resulted with not only your death, but the death of Shinken and Kuno. And now you're being called in for another one?” “Hopefully it's not for a few days. I'm all for earning money for us, but I'm dead tired.” Michio told her, and she put her hands on her hips in response. He looked up and cocked his head to the side. “What?”“That's not funny, Michio-kun.” she told him. “I wasn't making a joke, Shisara-chan. I'm serious. I could literally sleep like the dead when we get home.”Shisara sighed and stepped forward, lifting his arm and slowly removing the needle planted in the inside of his left elbow joint. Michio grunted and rubbed the area once the needle was out, then took the scroll back from Shisara, the paper somewhat separating as he took it. He'd investigate that later. “That will never NOT feel weird.” he muttered, which forced a smile on Shisara's lips. “I can only imagine. I don't get hurt nearly as often as you do, so I don't know from experience, but anything coming out of you slowly just has to feel weird.”Michio looked up at her and a sly smile played on his face. Shisara met his eyes and smiled the same before gently punching Michio in the shoulder. “You know what I meant, you pervert.” “Yeah, but that's now how you said it.” “Whatever. Get dressed and get your butt to the front desk. I'm going to go and sign you out.”Michio nodded and looked around before realizing that the upper section of his suit had been cut off of him and was in tatters. He found it in the trash receptacle and it saddened him. The suit had been with him only a few days, but it had been through a lot up until now. The young Kaguya frowned and looked at the uneven cut around his waist and touched it with his fingertips. 'Damn them...' he thought, then dropped his hand away from his waist. Michio turned and walked out of the door, then down the hall to meet Shisara at the front desk. “Michio... where's your shirt?” Shisara asked him as he approached and he shook his head. “There isn't one.”“What?” “I don't have a shirt. There was only the suit, and it's a one piece. They had to cut it off of me to get to my wound, despite my protests and offer to just take it off.”“Oh jeez....” she said, and turned back to the form. Once she was finished, she handed it to the receptionist at the front desk and looked back to Michio. “Well, it's not closing time yet. Let's go get you some clothes. I needed to pick up a little something anyways. I think you'll like it.”Michio nodded and followed her out of the hospital and out into the rapidly cooling night air. He crossed his arms over his chest to protect his core from the cold and followed his future wife all of the way to the clothing store. Once they arrived, it had been approximately a twenty minute walk and Michio was now shivering despite Shisara's attempts to keep him warm. It wasn't usually that cold in the Sand Village. They walked through the front door to see that the shop was mostly empty, the only exceptions being Michio, Shisara, the shopkeeper and what looked to be the shopkeeper's daughter. Together, Michio and Shisara stepped up to the front counter and the shopkeeper looked up, her eyes twinkling as she saw that it was Shisara. “Oh Shisara-chan! I'm glad you're here! The...” and then she spotted Michio who was linked in arms with Shisara, “... item you ordered is in!” Shisara beamed and looked to Michio. “Michio-kun, you go find yourself some new clothes. I need to speak to Mrs. Kurosuchi alone.”Michio raised an eyebrow but nodded and turned to look at the merchandise. He sifted through the clothing racks, seeing several different kinds of clothing, but all of them were mundane and unoriginal. He was disappointed, because nothing was going to properly replace the suit he'd taken a liking to. A few seconds after he'd moved on to the long sleeve shirts, the shopkeeper's daughter came up beside him and smiled. “Anything I can help you find, Mr...?” “Kaguya. Michio Kaguya.” he told her and didn't fail to notice that she was eyeing his chest with some interest. It made him flush slightly and he tried to focus harder on the clothes. “Anything I can help you find, Mr. Kaguya?” “I'm looking for something unique, but all of these clothes are boring. I need something that tells people “I'm different.”” “Well, someone of your immaculate physique should be showing it off. Perhaps just a coat? We have a great selection of long coats, and I'm sure we can find one in your size.” “That would be cool, but I'll need a shirt to cover my chest. Maybe even something with a hood.”“But that wouldn't show off your body...”“I'm not looking to show off my body, Ms...?”“Kurosuchi. It's the same as my mom's.” the shopkeeper's daughter told him, in which he smiled. “Well, Ms. Kurosuchi, as I said; I'm not looking to show off my body. I'm a Shinobi of the village. I need something practical while still remaining unique.”“But...” “What?”“I really think you should be at least wearing something tight.”“Would that restrict my movement?”“I don't think so...”“Well then let me try it on and see for myself.”The young woman nodded and led him to the long sleeve shirts. She looked downtrodden as she had the feeling that Michio wasn't going to take her advice. And she was right. Michio's outfit for his job as a Shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Sand was not for him to take lightly. He picked out a long sleeve shirt and pulled it over his body. It was still tight, so it showed off his muscles very well. The shopkeeper's daughter watched him intently as he twisted and turned, testing the mobility and restrictiveness of the material, but to his surprise, it was incredibly stretchy despite being so tight. “Well, it checks out. I'll take this one. Now, show me the coats?” She nodded again, a smile on her face as she led him to the long coats. He looked them over until he picked one. It was black with a series of straps that only reached long enough to close up the front of the coat. It stretched from his shoulders to his chest “This is perfect.” he said, and the shopkeeper's daughter clapped her hands. “Hey Shisara? Honey? When you're done I want you to see this!”That made the shopkeeper's daughter stop clapping and her expression fell from excitement. She was still smiling, but it was less from happiness and more a professional sales smile. Shisara came over with a bag in her hands and looked Michio up and down. “Very strapping! I like it! Really accents that tall, dark, and mysterious look you're always going for.”“Pretty much the idea, yeah. I think I should get some new pants though. Can't exactly go around with half-torn suit pants.” he said, and left Shisara giggling to go and find a pair of pants that would accent the clothes. Within seconds, he found a pair of tightly woven cloth pants that had leather patches on the knees. And better still, they were in his size. He smiled and hurried off to the dressing room and changed into them, then tore all of the tags off of the clothes. “Perfection!” he said, looking at himself in the mirror. He opened the door and stepped out, but was taken aback from the sight of all three women standing just a foot away from the entrance of the door. “Uh.... what?” he asked, uncomfortable that they were staring at him, and then he jumped when they all started squealing. Shisara took his hand and pulled him to the front counter and the two shop runners ran to the other side and they paid for the clothes. She then took him straight from the store to the apartment and through the door. Michio stepped in with a raised eyebrow and saw that Shinken was on the couch and in the chair next to it was Sayomi. Apparently, she'd tracked him down and they'd been in Michio and Shisara's apartment for a while now. The sake had been broken into and Sayomi was slightly red in the cheeks.
