At the ghoul's first statement, Petro nodded in agreement, eyes still on the metal, mouth curved in a frown. What she said about not being allowed to leave may be so, but it didn't mean he had to like it. Unknown to him, he shared the female monster's instinctive desire to protect. He turned to face her when she mentioned the idea of a tussle, "Wouldn't mind stretching my muscles some. But didn't G say no fighting?" he quirked a brow at her, looking mildly uncomfortable. He hoped she wouldn't actually initiate a spar.

Nefertari grinned. Now the predator in her was coming out. The boil looked a little nervous at the idea of a tussle. But he was right, the big green monster had said no fighting. And she doubted even a friendly spar would be allowed considering the small space of their transportation. She could smell the nervousness on him. What else was there? She sniffed a bit, nothing blatent just a silent huff. Hmm, he smelled....equine? A werehorse perhaps? Interesting.

"Ah yeah he did. Plus this car is too small for a good fight. I prefer to use my wings a bit," she slid a little closer to the boil. "How about you? What kind of fighting to you prefer?"

Her voice had a purr to it along with her accent. Her lean feline body looked a bit tense, like a cat waiting to pounce. But she would behave herself. After all she didn't want to get thrown off the train. She had just started to make friends.

And that's when the lights went out for this train car. However, unlike the other special cabin, two things happened simultaneously as the lights went out. The first was a high pitched shriek from an unknown source, and what sounded like thick scraping of metal against the floor. The second was a loud crash of the window, and a strange whooshing sound.

A resounding thunk followed the first two noises, followed by a strange chilling sort of silence. In the dark, it was hard to tell what exactly was going on.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 11, 2010 7:14 am

Oh, oh, Petro did not like the look in the other ghoul's eyes or the way she grinned. He was never completely comfortable when sparring with females, not even his cousins or aunts. Still, he was preparing himself in case their instincts got the better of them (Jack knows there were times he needed to be reigned in). He was about to answer her question with something along the lines of not wanting to give anything away that wasn't already obvious when the lights died and the sound of a shriek rang. His bare feet felt the vibrations of something scarping the floor and he had poised himself into a defensive stance even before the window shattered.

The thunk reached his ears and he turned towards the sound, crouching low and hands balled into fists. In the darkness he searched for the intruder, "State your business!" he demanded.

Nefertari was on her feet almost as Petro was. A feral growl escaped her throat along with a small hiss. Her claws were bared and she was ready to attack whatever it was that had hit their car. Obviously whatever it was had come back for more. She stood before Tahki, an instinct to protect the ghoul who was like kin to her in a way. They may share no blood relation but their animal heritage made her want to protect the ghoul.

Her cat eyes scanned the dark, seeking whatever it was. Perhaps she could see it with her own uniquie feline vision but it could be invisable or ghost-like which could ellude her senses. "Show yourself!" she growled into the darkness.

ROUND ONE (HP: 50)

Another resounding crash later, and what felt like the entire train car being flipped upside down, the lights realigned themselves. Actually, they didn't, something was just glowing in the very end of the car with ENOUGH light source to turn the entire room a faint blue.

It was monstrous - easily spanning the height of the entire room, hooved feet clacking against the floor. The thing swung the other direction, and another loud bang was heard, hopefully that was just luggage hitting the side of the car and not actual students. Whatever it was, it was safe to guess it didn't want to play battleship.

There was also one final complication to the mess. Somewhere on its way from wherever and its destination (this train car), the offending creature had picked up a rather large bedsheet. All in all, the thing.. well...

.....a ghost......thing...with hooves...

Well it didn't matter. It was obviously not friendly! Now was the time to fight. Her body tingled with the adrinaline as it rushed through her viens. She loved the thrill of the fight!! And here was a perfect victim. Nefertari began to circle the creature like lion on the prowl. Her lips were back revealing her fangs. She looked over her options and lunged for the animal. She swiped a strong paw at it, roaring as she went.

Petro hadn't been prepared to go against a ghost. Or anything intangible actually. He was used to having something solid to hit. But rather than let his inexperience hold him back, he figured what better time to find out what it was like fighting against something he couldn't touch right at that moment? He watched the sight of the female monster's attack. She was strong. He admired that.

"Looks like you got your wish for a tussle!" he grinned, kicking off from the ground to follow up. Unfortunately for his attempt to drive his fist into the ghost, he hadn't expected it to have recovered from the sphinx's attack quickly enough to dodge his blow. His attack managed to graze the sheet, but barely. He skidded to a halt, twisting his body to keep himself from completely colliding against the other end of the train and once again to face the intruder.

If the eerie blue glow in the cabin didn't hide the embarrassed flush on his face, he could always claim it was just the trick of the light on his tattoo.

"Careful, he's fast," he called out to the other students.

Did they need another exciting event? Really, he was comfortable with the story game and the random ghostly man handing out . . . what were those, ID cards? He didn't catch the writing. What about the minipet part? He actually wanted to see it . . .

But of course things couldn't be too quiet for too long, as their weather conversation was interrupted by ear-splitting sounds as metal gave in and darkness swamped them. Crash went something else (a window?) Purely from the sound Haku jumped, ears pinned back as a he clutched the seat to keep himself steady; the train almost seemed to shake. Without warning blue light flooded the room, and both the sphinx and Petro were going at it with a -

- wait, what was that thing? A ghost? He could really tell even with the light since it was covered in a bedsheet and madly charging as the students leapt upon it.

Haku half wondered if this wouldn't have happened had the two not been discussing a fight. He wanted to glare, but now wasn't the time.

Problem was . . . He was a demon. He didn't typically fight his own battles, allowing his chess pieces to do so for him. But yet again, he found that his FEAR was suppressed online, and growled.

Oh yes, now that law book would have been nice. Nice to throw that is.

Hearing Petro's warning, he kept to his seat and pulled his tail out from the aisle, laying against the outerwall of the bus to aim a kick at the thing as it rushed past.

Of course he barely hit the darn thing, catching mostly the bedsheet if anything else. Jack, Petro wasn't kidding!

Flipping the card over several times, Natalia stared at her prize with mild interest. It made up for the fact that the girl with the chest had ignored her advances, but was not enough to relinquish her of the wound. Natalia did not favor rejection…The were-lemur inched backward and into a seat a few spaces away.

"A security card?" Her voice had taken a soft, curious turn and as she went to thank the old man. Certainly all these prizes and things would sum up to something grand at the end, right? What with all the vagueness, she assumed...Yeah, she figured something awesome would waiting for her at their destination. Wherever that was.

While in thought she hadn't noticed the creature creeping up behind her. It would have shaken some to see that face hovering over ones shoulder, perhaps, but Natalia was used to crossing personal boundaries. Although pleased to see a student taking interest in what SHE had and what SHE was doing, she wouldn't shake the girl’s previous disposition just yet.

Leaning away from the purple student, Natalia spoke, "Hello, may I help yo--?" LIGHTS OUT.

At that instant, the Natalia reached out and blindly grabbed for...something. Mostly she searched the darkness for the purple girls hand or wrist to leech on to, since the commotion had startled her well enough to forget how calm and collected she should be acting...who would know she had just freaked and tried to snuggle the strange hissing girl? No one...except the student herself...

Suddenly a light washed the room blue, illuminating every face that did not hide behind their seat. Natalia inched to the side and poked her head out, gawking at the sheet that floated near the front.

What was everyone doing?

Apparently the ghost was not welcomed on the train! She watched in amazement as kids had jumped on the opportunity to bludgeon the creature with their fists, shaking her head some in disbelief. “Bunch of violent ones, aren’t you all…” her words went unnoticed, most likely, but were said nonetheless.

Natalia was...indifferent about the whole situation...the ghost was not suppose to be here, right? That gave her reason enough to participate…And it had scared the snot out of her, making the monster look like some kind of scatterbrained fool...

What the hell.

[Natalia does 3 damage to the Ghosts face.]

There was a bedsheet attacking them. She had bad experience with laundry before but this was ridiculous. What harm could a piece of cloth really do to them? Of course, there could be something under the sheet but really, how tough could it be if it was hiding under a sheet? Surely it was as afraid of them as some of them were of it.

Others had began to attack the creature without even waiting for its first move. A preemptive attack could be both good or bad. Bad if the creature was initially harmless but good if it was not. Too late now, she thought. The decision had been made the moment some ghoul swiped at it.

She lowered her head and kissed Mimic, the small creature seeming to understand his soon to be role by jumping slightly in her hand. Mimic was very strong, damn near unbreakable as far as she saw and if the hit was a good one, he could even try to bite the bedsheet beast. She stepped up on one of the seats and threw Mimic at the creature as hard as she could.

Tybalt gave the card a weird look when the undead boy asked what he was going to do with it. "I have no idea." He shrugged; reading the words written across it. Seafear Island Securities... "What is it even for? Aside from useless crap the old fart suggested." He doubted it was a good luck charm. But seriously. Why did the old man give them a security card? Were they going to need it where they were headed? He had no idea, but he might as well hang onto it until then. After all, it had to be of some importance, right?

With a huff, he stuck the card between his teeth and began searching for his bag. He had left it somewhere on his seat... But unfortunately, after all that ruckus, he wondered if it got knocked onto the floor. Great! If someone stepped on it, he was going to be pissed!

Pocketing his card, he was just about to look under the seat to see if it had slid underneath, when the lights went out. "Who tur--" He was about to ask if someone had turned out the lights when another shriek echoed through the car, followed by another crash. "Ugh! Not again! What the hell is it this time?" He growled placing his hands over his ears again, trying to protect them from the sounds as much as he could. Little good it did him.

Was it the same thing as before? He wondered; hesitantly lowering his hands and pushing himself off the floor to get a better view. Which thankfully wasn't difficult. His eye sight didn't change in the dark, thanks to their natural glow. In fact, his eyesight was even better. Unfortunately, he didn't see anything. At least, not until something crashed into the car again; making it feel as though the entire thing had flipped.

"What the hell is that!?" He gawked at the creature before them. Was it wearing a bed sheet? How tacky! Well no matter. Looks like the next 'game' just presented itself!

With a low growl, the black dog lunged at the creature; biting down and tearing into what appeared to be it's head, before quickly jumping away again. He knew he at least hit it, that was definite. But he had a sinking feeling that the only real damage that was being done, was to the bed sheet and not the creature itself. Was this thing really a ghost?

Tybalt Hits! 6 Damage!

Well, everything had been going good, he had even won a prize, and then this thing showed up.

He wasn't even sure if what it was, since it was covered in a sheet, and he wondered briefly why they just didn't try to pull it off. There were enough of them to do it.

He shook his head, and began looking through his pockets for a weapon or something that he could use as such. There wasn't much. He eventually decided on a pencil, the only thing in his pocket that could even be counted on as even a little weapon like.

He took aim and threw it at the creature, hoping that it would hit.

Tahki had just been observing quietly for some time now her new companions and the strange game. Being quiet and observing was something the gryphon tended to do quite a lot having grown up in a house where children didn't talk unless spoken to.

But then something appeared that seemed dangerous and Tahki was woken from her quiet peaceful bliss. Tari and Haku were already at the battle front. Tahki wanted to help to.

The white gryphon stood and charged the foe with as quickly as she could. Though, she didn't muster all her strength and ended up not doing much in the way of damage to the thing.

Maybe Tahki should have waited and plotted a better attack.
