Zeren took another deep breath when he was told to get ready for the ... 'hatching' of the last eggs, he shuffled himself somwhere in towards the middle so he wasn't noticably near the front or back, nicely mingled with all the other white robed candidates.
He gasped as the weyrwoman swung the shovel at the first egg and something had yelped, he had leaned forwards a little scared for the dragon inside but Eirlyn knew what she was doing and out spilled a Crimson from the egg that had twinned the Brown's shell. It seemed dissapontment was his once more as she headed to the girls. two eggs... possibly dragons.. possibly duds ... he closed his eyes for a second the waited for Eirlyn to do what she must for the other eggs.

Wykla had seen Jarest Impress, but had been unable to catch his attention before now. Seeing him glance in her direction, she flashed a quick thumbs up in congratulations. She made a note to go over later and speak with him.
The Weyrwoman's voice ringing out made her look over. Three dud eggs? She wondered about that a moment and watched the remaining candidates gather around. A wish of good luck was sent their way.Kameth was rather bored with the whole thing. He flared his over sized wings slightly then looked at His. Mine, we should try flying after this is over and I'm fed.Sure, we'll go flying after..... wait. Wykla blinked and looked at her blue. "What? You can't go flying now. You're not even grown yet Kameth. You need to build stamina first." Kameth sighed.------------------------------------- edit Quote: "I'm Adi," she answered, "It's nice to meet you! And Yours, of course. They're all so lovely." The girl giggled. "Three handsome boys for three pretty girls!" Alright, so Rene wasn't pretty by most standards, but that wasn't the sort of thing Adi dwelled on. Every girl was pretty, in one way or another. Yes, we all chose Ours well, Mazamath agreed. Hopefully the three girls would get along. He knew that would make Adi very happy. Wykla smiled. "Nice to meet you Adi." She blushed, "I donno how it happened, but you're right. They are handsome."

Nayetuel watched with some interest as the next egg was broken open with a shovel, not quite having expected such a scene. When a distinctly-Crimson dragonet popped out and made her way towards the girls, he couldn't help but smile- so the little buried egg had held a secret treasure, after all. And there were two other eggs that looked like they would be receiving help. If they both held live babies, there was still time... He worried the plain fabric of his white robe, twisting it between his fingers anxiously.

Anya moved up with the others as the first of the unhatched eggs were helped along the way, she inwardly hoped that they wouldn't be duds - she wasn't completely heartless after all, at least not towards dragons and her fellow weyrborn.
Ah but it was a crimson! and from the little buried egg to boot, she'd wondered briefly about that one earlier..and it was good to see a healthy dragonet hatch from it.

It was quite a day for the girls, perhaps a response to there being so much male blood in the Weyr at the moment, what with the gatherings that had recently come, though there were, he imagined, a number of riders who would not object at all to having new women in the ranks.
Kazvar quirked up the corner of his mouth slightly at the Crimson, mostly because her sire was a Benden dragon, and he was pleased to see that they seemed cursed by the color, as they deserved to be.

The green had Impressed, and the Weyrwoman was moving out to crack open the three remaining eggs. It was still to be seen if they were Atypicals or duds, but Andeon held his breath and hoped for the former. Even if none of them chose him, he would hate to see Malvren lose another egg. Especially after the brown.
A smile came across his face as the crimson spilled out onto the Sands. What fortune, that they would see a dragon who might someday produce a clutch of her own after all. He turned his head to where the big Benden bronze was watching, searching for his rider. He was curious what the bronzerider would think. What a Benden man would think of his dragon fathering a Crimson, especially after the incident at Trine.

The Crimson seemed to revel in her freedom and started running towards the girls, much to Eirlyn's worry, but she squared her shoulders and watched... only to find the Crimson stumble and roll in such an awkward way that she ended up facing the boys. On her back, wings and legs all akimbo, she tilted her head as if seeing the boys for the first time then, squirming, cried out as she rolled and tried to stand and failed.
She tried again and righted herself, only her stance was wobbly now, as if she'd already spent most of her energy. She bleated again and stumbled forward, wings held out at ogg angles, unsure of what to do with them.

A crimson---so sweet looking, you had a wonderful brother, a handsome brown, find Yours unlike your wonderful kind brother. You deserve the best, you are a crimson of this Weyr.
Ashmere smiled a light fangish grin, at least her friend Wykla had found Theirs. For that she would be happy.

Shedrawn stared at the poor confused and tired crimson, he wanted to help her but she had been running toward the girls and he feared his interference would delay her to long, and he WOULD NOT be the cause of a dragon going between if he could help it.

The rest of the hatching went rather smoothly, though it was interesting to note the amount of dragonets that were gravitating toward the girls. Even the newly opened crimson went straight to their lines. Would Zeren find His this clutch in either of the last two eggs?
Kaikuth was less concerned with the female to male rider ratio and was more interested in her siblings all gathering at the meat tables. Mine! Let us go visit my brothers! She didn't wait for a response from Hers and hurried over to the blue trio. Brothers! she greeted happily, giving them each a playful nudge in turn. You're all so slow~! Glad you found Yours. The green grinned very widely at the three, glad for her siblings. Even the depressed one.
Somehow Azuran almost had a sense of de ja vu from when he had first gotten Drakell as he awkwardly followed his green over to the new female riders. He hadn't really interacted much at all with his fellow Candidates this past turn. "Hello," he greeted with a polite smile, shoving aside his own social awkwardness for the time being. "Congrats to you three as well."

Zeren watched as the crimson started running but.... that wasn't what they should do.. too much energy loss, he hoped she'd found hers if she as running. He cried out when she stumbled and rolled, before he knew it he took half a step forwards when she cried out, her bleating breaking his heart, that was until he noticed he was moving towards the front of the small group. He hesitated, there.. she'd righted herself. He still wanted to go to her, to steady her wobbling but he didn't want to force the little crimson into anything so he merely stayed where he was, nearer to the front that he'd like but still half hidden behind one or two others.

Mercy watched as the poor crimson struggled to figure out how all her limbs worked - she wanted to go and help the poor creature but fear doing so would only interfere with her ability to find her's..something she obviously did not want to be a part of - especially given how much effort the poor brown had gone through to unearth her in the first place. So she stood still and merely wrung her hands and hoped that the pretty red dragonet would impress.

Andeon's heart practically broke with the sight. It was well known that Atypical dragons were weak at birth, and it took a great deal of care and resources to get them through their Weyrling lives. IN adulthood they were proud and strong creatures, capable of serving their Weyrs as well as nearly any traditional dragons might. However, in their early months they were fragile, never moreso than at the moment of hatching.
“Come on,” he urged her aloud, “You can do this, little lady.”

"Poor little thing," Nayetuel commented under his breath, watching the Crimson stumble after her trot and wind up all twisted around on the sand. She looked entirely confused by her position, and he had to work to stifle the urge to help her sort herself out. But they weren't supposed to approach the babies, and she'd headed toward the girls anyway- surely she'd call out to Hers, if she needed help? He hoped that there was a match for her- after the Brown that had unearthed her egg had vanished, it would be too much if she flickered away as well.

Wykla was surprised as a green dragonet came bounding over followed by a boy. She wasn't sure of his name either. When he said hello, she nodded back politely. "Thanks. Grats to you too."
Kameth blinked his blue eyes as Kaikuth gave him a nudge. I was not slow.
