Tensai noticed the unusual veil of crimson in her eye, an event that usually indicated some sort of inconsistency in her genetic makeup. As far as he knew, normal people were not born with eyes that could change color. This trait didn't seem to bother the taller shinobi as the kunoichi spoke to him.

"According to your logic, a martial artist is a shinobi then? Judging by your words shinobi are the only people capable of striking with concentrated force,"

His bemused expression would not alleviate her apparant frustration and his eyes rolled in their sockets at her statement. "If you must know, I was raised by a former martial artist and his wife. I travelled with them frequently so I was taught to protect myself from bandits," he said, encasing a lie with a sizeable portion of truth. The man he travelled with was indeed a martial artist who taught him a few basics in self-defense. However he didn't learn the palm strikes from that man though the lie was so well supported by a truth that Tensai had no trouble manipulating his story without the usually indicators in his expression.

"Look, the shinobi presense is not that big of a secret in this village. Some villagers are well aware of your presense, so you shouldn't be surprised if you come across some who can pick you out with ease," he warned in a low whisper. He smiled openly this time, awaiting he response.

"Forget me not....

Sasayaka smiled. It wasn't exactly warm in nature, but it wasn't hostile in any way. The feral anger that had once erupted in her eyes subsided for a bit, but her entire body was still completely on-edge. She couldn't tell if he was lying or not, and that bothered her. But, pushing her frustration aside, the girl nodded. Slightly reassured by the fact that being a shinobi was not exactly a huge secret, she rocked back on her heels a little and glanced over at her sister. Nikke hadn't moved for quite some time. It wasn't unusual, just a little bit unsettling. Sasayaka worried for her older sister, since she was still mute and in incredible pain.

"Well, I guess that would be considered a relief," Sasayaka said quietly in reply to the boy's statement. "I'm Sasayaka Kotone. That's my sister, Nikke. Forgive my rude words earlier... we haven't exactly been having an amazing day," the girl bowed swiftly, displaying her high amount of courtesy and respect.

The Ushio noticed that she wasn't as angry as before though she was still tense. Her eyes frequently darted over to her sister before returning to him, which made him think she was overprotective although he would not voice his opinion after only just calming her down. When she introduced herself and bowed, Tensai held both hands up with his palms facing her.

"Hey, you don't need to bow," he chuckled nervously. Actually, considering his noble birth she was supposed to bow to the Ushio but because he travelled to the Rice Country while using a fictional, modest upbringing he could not claim his true lineage. It never bothered him though, he preferred the countryside to a bland palace almost any day.

"Call me Tensai," he said, bringing a hand to scratch at his temple. Although he appeared to be fairly social, Tensai was not used to maintaining long conversation with individuals he was not familiar with. He could hide under a cocksure fascade as much as he wanted but inwardly the shinobi in training was nervous. Only small details such as the scratching of his temple and the tapping of his left foot betrayed his minor discomfort.

"Forget me not....

"Actually, I do," Sasayaka said, impervious to his nervousness. "Rule number 7: Always show respect." Sasayaka had a rule for everything, pretty much. Rules from 1 through 57 were written down somewhere within her mind, springing up every time one was needed.

"Tensai...." The girl whispered the name as if it were a taboo. She hadn't heard it before. Maybe she had, but after the fire most of her memories had been erased. "No last name, Tensai?" Of course the boy had a last name. Everybody had a last name. Whether he wanted to share it or not was a different story. If Sasayaka could go back about a minute and a half, she would have taken back her first name. After all... she would rather be the sound of a harp than modesty. What was that supposed to mean, anyway?

Hearing what the monk told him, Tenza nodded, not really bothering to fight back, he simply nodded and walked out.

"Respect is earned, not freely given,"

It was an automatic response, the quote erupting unbidden from the depths of his mind. However, he shook his head as if he regretted his words and was unintersting in creating a debate.

"My birth name is Ushio, Tensai," he answered, rubbing his shoulder. "My parents aren't around though, I live with an elderly couple," he countinued, clearly unafraid to expose small tidbits of his personal information.

"Forget me not....

"That is understandable," Sasayaka said quietly with a small smile as she rocked back on her heels, a habit of hers whenever she didn't feel threatened. It was an easy gesture, simple, yet full of gentle finesse. "I shall remember that, thank you." Rule number 7 would need to be rewritten at some other time. She considered the quiet possibilities, but spoke no more of the topic. The boy didn't seem interested, anyway.

"Ushio..." The name sounded familiar. Being a book worm, Sasayaka had always spent her days reading history volume after history volume, learning of the time before she was born into the shinobi world. Of course, she couldn't exactly remember in what volume she had read it. "Isn't that... a Mist clan?" She shrugged her shoulders, pretty much answering her own question. "Maybe not... I've heard the name before..." The smile returned to her face as she leaned back onto her heels again. "It's nice to live with a couple like that, isn't it? They have so much wisdom and knowledge to share." It was pretty apparent now that Sasayaka had a hunger for knowledge and a passion for learning. It was flowing through her veins and sparkling in her eyes. The deep crimson cloud that once occupied her irises faded away as she became less threatened. Nikke was safe. The boy meant no harm... yet.

The shinobi crossed his arms over his chest and made an amused sound. "Something like that," he answered enigmatically. He turned to look at the girls silent sister and then at his lonely training dummy. "It's not as fun as it sounds, trust me," he warned before briskly turning around and walking back to his training dummy.

She seemed very interested in learning new things and to be frank, it was a little unnerving for Tensai. As he walked away he looked over his shoulder and smiled disarmingly before speaking again.

"You have fierce eyes Sasayaka Kotone,"

With those words he ended their brief conversation (rathe rudely to be honest) and began striking the dummy once again.

While Tensai continued to strike away at the dummy, a young village boy dressed in simple brown yukata, suddenly ran into the dojo and looked around for a certain man. Eyes locking onto Tensai training, the innocent looking boy dashes straight towards him. Pulling on Tensai's pant sleeve, the boy tried his best to grab his attention. "Um...are you Ushio Tensai?"

Tensai looked down from his training to see a small boy at his side. Cocking his head to the side the Ushio smoothly rose to his feet. "Erm...Yeah, whose asking?" inquired the shinobi, clearly puzzled by the boys appearence.

When Tensai stopped training to addressed him, the young boy release his hold on the man's pants and nervously began twiddling his fingers. "Um...a nee-san at the village inn needs your help with something...can you come with me please...?" Looking up at Tensai, the boy stared up at Tensai with bright red eyes.
PostPosted: Sun May 15, 2011 4:58 pm

I wonder who would be requesting me? wondered the Ushio before rolling his shoulders. "Sure no problem," he answered. If somebody requested his help he could take some time off his training to help. Besides, he could use a break.

Smiling now, the boy turned around and began skipping away. 'And now the fun begins...'
