It wasn't as if Mindy had not been paying attention prior to the start of the fiasco, but rather, that she had realised with a startling sort of clarity that she had forgotten her spare shoelaces back in the booth.
By the time she got back to the "ball", well, honestly, she wasn't too sure what to make of the situation. Senshi - honest to god senshi in every colour of the rainbow were yelling and scrabbling with Negaversers, running like a large tidal wave towards a singular source.
That crystal. Mindy wanted it: it resonated a strange, soothing sort of power, she barely had a clue what it did other than that reassuring knowledge that it was important .
Jaw set in determination, she pulled out her henshin pen and transformed, eyes flickering towards the crowd, the crystal, the crowd. This wasn't going to be fun at all - plus not to mention Emily sure was taking her grand old time getting here. Without another spare moment's thought, she dived into the fray.

Elena Pellerin was late. And not fashionable so, apparently. Her costume - that of some sort of generic fantasy princess in splendid blues and silver - was quickly discarded as Selenite came out to play in the chaos the ball had turned into. She had no idea what was going on, not really, but she'd heard Linarite's call about getting the crystal and cutting quota and damn if that wasn't a good enough reason to go in for it.
Unfortunately, it went flying away from...oh dear, was that her Captain? Selenite was going to pretend she hadn't seen that happen and started to make her way over to where she'd thought the crystal had landed, laying about with her pointer whenever someone got too close.

Madness...pure madness, she'd just gone to the ladies room and returned to chaos, the first wave of the charge had passed her by but not the second. She hid for just long enough to transform before re-emerging in her Senshi gear as so many others were dressed and pricked her finger crying out
"BAD BLOOD"... the thin 'whip' of blood snapping out hopefully to knock the crystal into her grasp.

That senshi could hit damn hard. Uranophane was planning to return the punch to the jaw by seeing if she couldn't pull out some of that obnoxious streaked hair, but she was stopped in her tracks by first the sight of the crystal flying across the room -- and then by a distinctive tugging feeling against her head. Her eyes twitched to the side and she saw none other than Captain Scheelite, a fellow Negaverser, casting a wicked grin at her before dashing off.
The Captain audibly snarled.
"You better give those back if you know what's good for you!"
The tips of her boots made dents in the tile of the floor as she leapt up off of it, making a dash towards Scheelite. She'd really meant to just kick him or something -- but then that Crystal crossed her line of vision, and she ended up kicking straight off the other Captain's head to give herself a boost.

-The sheer amount of people trying to dogpile the crystal was absolute chaos. Trying to avoid crashing into a fellow senshi, Polaris tripped into a youma, bowling the two over. Red stained her crimson gloves as monsterous teeth snapped at her wrist, her other one coming down hard on the head of the youma to release herself. She skittered away just in time to see the crystal go flying, bracing her feet before she took off in the other direction after it.-

Serandite spotted Sailor Chibimoon, her eyes widening. Somewhere in the commotion, she had phased into her negaverse counterpart. She and Chibimoon had unfinished business-- and Serandite wasn't about to let her snag her precious crystal.
Definitely not. The negaverse wasn't going to lose today.
But as Chibimoon raced towards the crystal, Serandite appeared near her, running for all she was worth. She couldn't let Beryl down-- "If there's one thing I'm making sure of, it's not going to be yours Chibimoon!" Serandite shouted, her speed waw about the samer as the other girl's, soon coming side-by-side but not quite making it forward.

Panic.
That was what rushed through Serenade. First there was the Moon Queen, which gave her such a rush of nostalgia and happiness, and then the terrifying image of Queen Beryl. Her eyes darted towards Coralie; pink eyes holding the same amount of confusion upon why they were both picked for the touch of blessing. Was there some link she had been missing?
The next thing she knew, she was yanked into the crowd by Coralie, and promptly lost the other girl, even though she wanted to ask questions. No. This wasn't the time to ask questions.
Serenade Soriano slipped away from darting and panicking eyes as they all scrambled for the Crystal, whatever it was. It probably wasn't a very wise move, seeing that how so many Negaversers were in the room, but she had to help.
And so, Princess Chronos stepped in and was taken aback when she heard "Moon Tiara Magic!" Frantically, eyes darted over the crowd, trying to find who the voice belonged to, or perhaps she should lure the voice to her as well. Someone had said ChibiMoon... "Equinox Tiara Magic!" She yelled, her own tiara cutting through another hulking youma nearing the Cyrstal.
And now everyone knew there were two Princesses in the building.

Whoa, whoa, whoa-- what the hell had just happened? Somewhere between a mixed drink and a dance challenge and the room had erupted into a pandemonium Gloria was still trying to wrap her mind around. Body forewent mind and following Elegancia's orders (she would never, ever admit to listening to her. ever.), Gloria's sense of preservation kicked on. She ran towards the exit like a bat out of hell, stopping and ducking -- thank God, because was that a folding chair that went whizzing over her head? -- to shuck her heels. She liked her ankles, thanks. Last she wanted was to end up like Neftali and judging by the multitude of skirts flitting around, it was probable she could.
She was near to the exit before her common sense rushed back. Spinning on her heels, Gloria turned back to the room with a loud God damnit!
As much as she hated Elegancia, she would hate herself even more for letting her loose, drunk on vodka. She did not want to be responsible for seeing her corpse hanging from a chandelier. Or something.
Ducking back into the room, she trailed a hand on the wall and looked for that obnoxious head of curls.

Azzo watched the Chaos with a holy mother of ******** hell look on his face. He was standing there as Squall watching Senshi and Nega a like fight for a crystal and leaving a poor girl to be trampled. What was wrong with these people, he had been distracted for a moment when a youma came up behind him. He noticed it almost a moment too late. FFFF, he swung the platter in his hand at it's face gripping the platter the best he could.
He the youma should be after something besides him! He had been getting better at kick boxing and THANK god it was a 'small' one and not some ginormous beast. He grabbed for a candle from the table to switch in it's face. The hot wax might keep the thing at bay when it came too close to his face. Azzo gave it a swift kick towards some of it's compainions as he tried his damnest to find a safer place.
What utter CHAOS!

It had been an offhanded comment from Vera, that oh-so-familiar girl from the beanbag toss, that brought Paul to the ball. Otherwise, he never would have shown up; it was a waste of time, time that could be spent studying. He recognized it was borderline stalker to show up somewhere where he knew she'd be just to watch her and maybe steal a dance if he could, but he also recognized he didn't want to hurt her; that he wasn't going to follow her home; it would just be a dance, and then he'd go.
But he'd only just spotted her when a red light flamed and the visage of his Queen ordered him to obtain a Crystal. For a moment, he was lost in a mad scramble for the center of the room; but he used it, after a moment, to slip away for a moment and turn into Spinel. Then he joined the melee, keeping half an eye out for the pink hair of Vivianite or Vera. It wouldn't do to lose either one of them...
Would it?

Senri saw it slip into the other two negaverser's hands. Well, that wasn't a good outlook. He was sidetracked by the moving of the crystal, and the additional youma.
He saw the flame only briefly, and then a sinking feeling overcame him. It was as if he knew that something was going to happen.. there was one senshi who utilized fire. His guesses hadn't gone unfounded as the nearest candle lit up in a large burst of flame. It nearly burned him! "Really, really Gunn?" He said outloud, his blue eyes narrowing at the senshi he couldn't see but he knew she was there. He knew only one senshi that would be responsible for this fire. Was she an idiot? In this proximity?
"And I thought it couldn't get any worse." Zephyr muttered, making his way over. He had to be wary though, considering that he still had a job to go to after this.

Where Elzo had transformed no could say for sure, but he would later confess he ran into the woman's bathroom which thankfully had been empty at the time. Hurray for late night rendezvous with old flames. Powered, Castor spied General Linarite almost immediately.
And he felt nothing.
The voice of Queen Serenity echoed in his ears. The crystal was more important then his broken past. The crystal was important, but so was the lives of the civilians. "s**t!" Castor couldn't get the crystal and keep the populace safe while youma ransacked the place and took shot at anything and everything. Drawing on a more focused form of his attack, Castor called on his powers.
"STINGING STORM!" Dagger like hail fell towards the rampaging youma, Castor doing his best to avoid any civilian or senshi casualties.
It was at this time he noticed the other senshi's actions. (He also silently prayed that there was less explosions with Gunn this time around) The black and blue hair of his nightmares was in the fray. Perhaps..."NEMESIS!" He hoped she could hear him. "USE YOUR ATTACK! STOP THEM FROM GETTING TO THE CRYSTAL!"

Well this confirms it. Devorah Gellner will never be leaving the house ever again.
It seemed that every time she did, something went terribly wrong. She had decided to drag herself to this ball in vain of her recent attempts to be more social, but she should have expected something like this. She wasn't dressed particularly nice - a simple black dress and flatsoled boots as she still struggles with heeled shoes - but she did her best. And for all of her best efforts, this is what she ends up with - another night that will end in disaster.
Luckily, things have changed since the last catastrophe she encountered. She had talked with that cat with the hat and discovered a side of herself she had not know before, a secret source of powers. Since that night of this discovery, she has yet to use these powers, but this felt as good as time as any to get back.
Devi moved further into the corner and whispered the cry, "Sailor Requiem Make Up!" and transformed into Sailor Requiem. She then jumped into the action after the mysterious crystal.

-She'd felt it. She'd felt it the same way everyone else had and in a way that none of the rest of them could have ever imagined. They all searched for their princess, but hers... HER princess was here. So close she could almost taste it.
Sailor Juno was jostled out of her near trance as she was shoved roughly by a few people trying to get past.
But her attention wasn't exactly on the crystal any more though she noted it flying once more. She was distracted and confused. SHE was there, somewhere in the madness was her Small Lady.-
