Very soft and perfect.
That didn't help much, really. She thought about it, facing forward with her gaze on the stone ceiling. They were opposites really; he liked looking up and playing in the sky, but she preferred to stay grounded; under ground was best for her. It wasn't a thought she dwelled on, being opposites. No, she just thought a lot about staying on the ground.
"I...I see." She said a little uncomfortably, trying to get the thoughts of falling from such a great height out of her mind. Ground. Yes. Perfect, amazing ground.

Lucien tilted his head. Amrita didn't seem to like his answer? Oh no, he'd just have to talk more about clouds to solve that! How great clouds were, how great the sky was! She'd be beaming when he was done with talking about clouds! He didn't understand the possibility that someone might not like being in the sky, feeling the crisp and cool air on their skin.
"It's quiet up there," he thought. "Peaceful."
"The air is crisp, cool. Clouds form to your very shape!"
"Um!" He said as he thought what to say next.
"Since you sit on them, you can't get wet if it rains!"
"It's a great view! You can see far and see wide below!"
Lucien picked up Demon Cat and held him up to Amrita, "I bet Demon Cat likes to sleep on clouds! Cats know the best places to nap!"

The quiet and the peaceful was nice, as was the not getting wet and the forming clouds...those she liked.
"Like...being buried?" She murmured thoughtfully, tilting her head. The ground forming around you, the cool dirt, the peace and quiet...it was kind of the same, wasn't it? Sadly she wasn't beaming like he wanted her to, but she did seem a little more comfortable with the idea...right up until the 'below' part. Her expression changed, looking almost distressed, and she grabbed Mini Golem and held onto the poor creature tightly.
"Too high!" Amrita said, gazing at Demon Cat who was hanging limply from Lucien's grasp, his eyes lidded sleepily and his tail curling this way and that. The creature was still purring though, and that was good. "M-maybe Demon Cat would like to...go with you one day?" But not her. Noooo way.

Lucien wasn't sure how being on a cloud was like being buried under something. Maybe she meant a cloud? If that was the case if was exactly like that!
"It's not too high!" Lucien said louder than he meant to.
She suggested Demon Cat would like to go with him someday and he found himself turning the cat around so it faced him. He tilted his head at Demon Cat and whispered, "You want to go up to the clouds with me? It's not too high, is it?" After a moment after he asked Demon Cat the question he placed the cat back on his lap and looked back at Amrita.
"Why would it be too high?" He said, making a face very close to this: D:

Amrita jumped a bit at his rather loud proclamation, staring at him in surprise. That was the loudest she'd heard him be...almost all day! Wow...he loved heights a lot more than she thought he did! Sadly she couldn't understand it, so at first she said nothing, content with watching him and her pet bond a little over the scary thing called heights.
Demon Cat didn't look too thrilled...but then again he didn't look bored either. He just kept on purring, dangling in Lucien's grasp and putting a surprising amount of trust in the boy to not drop him. Ears lowered sleepily, he just stared, but he did purr a little louder in agreement...probably. Once back on Lucien's lap, the feline rolled onto it's back, nose buried against the boil's knee, and went back to sleep.
"I don't want to fall! My body couldn't take a fall like that...!" Amrita said back, her expression shockingly similar to his...only a little more in distress. She was stuck in this body! If falling didn't make her unstuck she was doomed!

Lucien chuckled a little at Demon Cat as it buried its nose into his knee before turning his D: face back to Amrita. She made a good point, falling would be terrible. He wouldn't want to fall and not be able to stop until he hit the ground. He didn't think she could fly, so that's generally how that situation would go. But...
"I..." He said. "I won't let you fall!"

Oh dear...she never was going to get out of this, was she?
Bottom lip quivering a bit in impending doom-type fear, the girl shivered and held onto golem again, tightly. She didn't want to upset him anymore by saying no, but she didn't want to say yes because...because it was the air! She used to float and whatnot, but there were reasons why Vetala chose human remains...and it wasn't just to give them identities!
"P-promise...?" She squeaked out quietly, hoping that if she submitted he'd drop or change the subject. You know, since he got his way and all.

Lucien let out a little yay when he heard Amrita squeak her question. She would come up on a cloud with him! He was successful in convincing a disbeliever into coming to the heavens with him! Lucien was genuinely excited about it. "I promise!" He said with a goofy grin.
Now all they needed was to go. They could go now? Could they? Lucien wanted to go now! He found himself excitedly rubbing Demon Cat's ears as he thought about it. Up in the sky, with the breeze in his hair... looking down at the world through his pink-tinted goggles. And for once, for once he'd have company!
"Let's go!" He said, very much suggesting they go now.

He promised, and Amrita thought she was in the clear...until he asked to go now. Her response was almost instant.
"NO!" She cried out, clear panic in her voice and her gray eye wide. Her expression was most definitely that "D:!" face now. Most definitely. Golem was nearly knocked off of her lap when she went to flail her arms and backpedal her response. "I MEAN! N-not right, uh, now!" Jackdamnit she didn't want to disappoint him, but she didn't want to go, either!
"I...I have homework! A-and I s-shouldn't go to clouds when...homework! M-maybe...maybe next time?!"

Lucien face immediately dropped from the very excited face he had back to the D: face he had earlier when she yelled out a no. She didn't want to go with him? She didn't trust him not to drop her? He promised though! He wouldn't have promised if he was going to drop her! His fingers curled into Demon Cat's fur a little as he worried about it. He found himself murmuring a little oh in a very soft voice.
His face lit up just a little when she corrected herself to say she just couldn't go now. That was much better! She did want to go, she just couldn't go now because of homework! Homework? Lucien's face scrunched up a little. He was distracting her from doing her homework! With backwards hands it must take her twice as long to write things and he was distracting her! Oh no!
"I... uh," he started in a small voice. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you had work to do. I will leave so you can get started then."
After he said that, he scrambled himself up from his comfy float, moving Demon Cat from his lap to his arms so that the cat didn't end up on the floor. He looked around, probably looking for a place to put Demon Cat when he decided on the bed. moving over to Amrita's bed to put Demon Cat down there with a little pat on his head after doing so.
"We'll definitely go later then, after you finish your homework!" He said as he looked at Amrita who was on the bed in front of him. His bright blue eyes looking at her with a mixture of excitement for later when they went to sit on clouds, a bit of disappointment that they couldn't go now and a bit of worry that she wouldn't get her homework down now because of him.

Damn that rollercoaster!
Her state of panic shifted as his expressions did; from distress to relief to distress to guilt and then the inevitable dread. While she did have homework to do - it wasn't a lie, just a really good scapegoat - she did feel guilty for getting his hopes up. Now all she had to do was make sure he never remembered this particular agreement. Amrita had a sneaking suspicion that being in the sky was a step back from her will to live.
"O-okay!" Amrita piped up, putting a reversed hand on the suddenly not purring Demon Cat at her side. "I, uh, Promise! Next time."
...Aww, jack!
"Um! Be careful, I guess...going where ever you're going. It's been fun!"

Lucien nodded to Amrita with a small smile on his face as he floated towards the door of her dorm. He took a long look at Demon Cat, feeling bad he had to leave the cat who was so enjoying using him as a bed. Amrita's bed was just as good though, wasn't it? Hopefully it was because he didn't want to distract Amrita anymore than he already had from doing her homework!
"Next time then," he said, waving his hand a little. "Thanks. See you."
And then he opened the door and floated on out. He paused there for a moment as if he was thinking about something. Ah yes. He turned around, making sure to carefully close the door behind him. He stared at the door for a couple minutes outside of Amrita's dorm before he finally floated up the stairs and out of the undead dormitory.
