Charms Hogwarts' 1st year

Coming into the classroom a few minutes late I apologized to Professor Imperio for my tardiness. "Um sorry Professor for being late, I got held up on the way up to class, bloody Peeves was up to his usually chaos. Had to stop him from unscrewing a chandelier onto a bunch of first years,"I said as I sat down behind Aludra and Cloud.

"So what did I miss?,"I asked Aludra and Cloud, as I removed my charms book from my bag.

“Oh course he did, he would not stop and dropped the chandelier onto the group, I had to cast a wide shield charm to protect the first years, then he stuck his tongue out at me, and flew off laughing.”Looking up at the chalk board, I saw that we indeed were practicing the Locomotor charm.”So shall we practice?,”I asked as I got up from my chair.

“Yes Peeves is really starting to get more out of hand than usual, might have to talk with Professor Sing about him,”I said as we made of way over to some free space to perform today’s charm.”It doesn’t matter to me, you can try the charm out on me first, but before we do I need to tell you something.”

Pulling Aludra over to the back of the room, far enough away from the other students who were practicing today’s charm, that way the sound of all the charms going off would make it hard for anyone to hear what I was about to tell her. Looking over my shoulder to check Professor Imperio’s location and seeing that her attention was on another pair of students I whispered to Aludra,

“The first task is Unicorns; we have to catch a Unicorn in the forbidden forest, I overheard Professor Sing, and the new Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports talking about on my way up to Gryffindor Tower last night. I didn’t hear if they were going to be bringing any new creatures into the forest for us to contend with, but you know what creatures Hagrid likes to keep in there so those shall keep us on your toes anyways.”

Looking around in to make sure that no one heard Aludra’s sudden exclamation, seeing that everyone was still oblivious to our conversation I continued, “I’m a little worried too, you never know when the Centaurs might get upset and cause some problems.”

Walking back toward the other students, so we could practice our charms, I whispered to Aludra “make sure Liv knows about the task too, I would hate for her to get hurt because she was not prepared.”Talking louder to play off the fact that we just had a secret meeting, I said ”So do you want to go first?”

Slowly walks toward Aludra, mentally preparing myself for the fall to come, the mates did not look that thick so the fall still might hurt.

My momentum stopped, my arms and legs stuck to my sides as if glued, and fell back onto the mats below, with a thud.

“Ya I’m fine, the mats are actually more padded than they look, you got to love magic,” I said as I sat up trying to reassure Aludra that she hadn’t caused any harm.”Well my turn to give a try,” I said as I got to my feet, and pulled out my wand.”Ready whenever you are.”
