Wow, I just haven't been in here in so long... I went back and read a few things, though certainly not all of them. I thought the project would be dead, especially since I found out a "critic" (not a negative one) of mine was making one of her own. however, the interest still seems to thrive, so revived this idea is!!
...I just really don't know how to move forward with it! We have a few characters, though maybe I should reread everything so I can summarize them a bit here. We're still going back and forth on ideas, but eventually we need to get soem things in the ground and get something written. "Something" being "a script". And from there, we can draw things out.
As for the drawing format, I'm still trying to figure out how to make things work. I think that a page per person is still a charming system to use, I'm just concerned that sometimes people will be lazy and sacrifice good storyboarding and storytelling. But, you know, what can one do? I'm still not supportive of the scene system, because some scenes are MUCH longer than others.
Alright, as for the city in the cliffs... it's a creative idea, but people have never really built cities that way. And they never built cities that way for a reason: it's not easy! Unless there was a reason for the city to be above the cliffs, I don't see a reason for it being there. Generators, however, do make sense. But you could easily put the city on one side of the cliff and still... make energy travel upwards. xd Or, if you're so inclined, have the city be in two parts - one on one side of the cliff, the other part on the other side of the cliff. And one side could be a tad poorer than the other and would have to use some sort of "floating" or wired train across the cliffs to get from one side to the other.
Yay! I'll keep checking back in here to see what happens.
@Lost: I like the ocntest idea! But I think we should work on more plot and get the script done or half-done first!

Y'mean a tram system kinda thing, Cruzle? For getting back and forth between the two parts of the cities? I like the simple idea of splitting it up. ~nod~ ((I just like trying to complicate things, I guess... so I never thought of it. >>'))
And I agree, it would be good to get an idea for script. XD Kinda hard to work without it, I'm sure. Wouldn't that kinda make this like... Roleplaying, then? << ~ponders~ Anyway, I'm glad you like the contest idea. ^^ I was just throwing it out there anyway. sweatdrop

I agree with Cruzle about the contest thing. Next up, scripting. how to do the scripting, I don't know. maybe.... we should start with voting on what scene we want to start the story with.... A) Lab explosion B) Abby's "adoption" (when Gabrial found Abby) C) random day in random part of story. (ie; a misc. job for Gabrial back when he was working with "the company", misc. day in the Labs, or misc day in the "current" life of Abby or something) D) something different @__@; if someone wants to start the script elsewhere that is fine, maybe we could even work on two-three different parts at one time (story-wise) but uhm.... we need to start SOMEWHERE. sweatdrop EDIT: artwork additions... (Gabrial's eyes came out too green in this picture, they change from green to grey to blue depending on light/weath/what he's wearing. :3)

Is this story really real-life-right-now, though? No one has built cities in or between cliffs (maybe they might have, maybe it was a 'lost' city thats pretty much isolated or on its own or even run by a higher government but knot shown to the public-public)~ but anyways, maybe in the distant future they will. Its completely possible. energy travel upwards? like, into the sky?
I like the two sided cities, and another idea instead of poor and rich- what if instead it was like really high tech-government lab on one side and high-techish but more public on the otherside? so like, one side of the city is "private"?

Yes, tram system.
I was also thinking a kind of alternate present day. Think Final Fanatsy VII.
Ahh, roleplay... *shudders*
I'm not much of a writer - I'm more like a proofreader and editor, saying where things are too typical, not interesting enough, and spelled improperly. I know that Shiva is a great writer... so if she's willing to work on the story, I guess it can be done that way. Oh. Not by herself. She could have hepers. Or she could be a helper to someone else. xd To be concise: I AM NOT WRITING THE SCRIPT XP XP XP
But I am editing it.
We should probably finalize/outline/further design some characters. Who we want, who we don't want, who's a main character, who's not, etc.

That's a good idea. ( xd I love Cruzle and her organizing ways~! heart )
perhaps there is an area on the front page or something in which we could start a list or something. *shrug* I'm always open to throwing out suggestions, though I hardly know what is interesting to the general public. sweatdrop
P.S.- I've never played Final Fantasy, but I'm pretty sure from what I've seen in ads and fanarts that it's what we are all trying to get at. *thumbs up*
