Orion wondered if Amelia had the sugar disease whose name currently escaped him. The herald was too polite to ask though, at least for now. He was also distracted by the fact that upon Carina knocking at the door it opened to reveal a slightly strange looking old lady with silvery hair. Her smile made him uneasy but then instead of yelling or saying anything weird she called them "cute little chilluns."

Carina grinned as candy apples were dropped into their bags and pillow cases. " I think you might be lucky," she whispered to Amelia after thanking the old lady. Sure there was sugar on it but the plastic wrapped treats were still mostly apple and seemed safe enough. Plus horses liked caramel becuase it was was in sweet feed, or was that molasses?

Apparently having grownups along wasn't a horrible thing , Orion noted. Amelia's stuff had been saved and they were off to the next house which was only a short ways away. It was bigger than most of the other houses here and even towered above some of the trees.

With no candy stealing pranksters in sight Orion raced to be first to ring the doorbell. The large ornate wooden front doors opened to reveal bleeding walls. A tall dead smelling figure lurched forward and grinned with a mouth full of rotten gums and yellow teeth.

"C'mere wanna have a tasste of you."

The herald backpedaled swiftly determined to put as much space between himself and the flesh eating monster as possible. "Run away," he warned the others. he didn't need to be rescued, the zombie was slow and no one else should get closer.

Amaranth hadn't meant to get any treats here. Honestly, he hadn't. He was just cutting through the cemetery to the next street instead of walking all the way around its great length. He had been just fine and content with cutting through the grass, minding his own business. But, of course, that wasn't going to be the case.

The boy's eyes widened a bit as a tall figure luched out from within a crypt, face hidden in the shadow of his hood. The tall figure never straightened in posture as he advanced towards the boy; never even made a sound.

Amaranth, of course, backed up, small pale fist tightening around his candy bucket. He was about to dart off when the stranger's arm lashed out, grabbing a hold of his wrist. The blonde let out a yell, reflexively trying to yank away. The man slipped something into the boys bucket before releasing the boy and returning to the shadowy depths from which he had emerged.

The boy sat there a moment before looking in his bucket. Cupcakes? Not taking time to wait for more oddities, the child ran for the next street, not looking back once.

Ira didn't believe in Halloween, a waste of time and simply another corporate holiday to be indulged in by the masses. And although he was respectful of the business signs of things he had no desire to get involved. Well that was before Kailani came along of course. As soon as she had learned about the season of scares she was all over it. But it was no fairy costumes or tiaras for her. There was only one thing Kai wanted to be for the holidays and it was a pirate, complete with swash buckling coat, clip on gold hopes, a cutlass stick on should parrot, eye patch and lastly the most impressive looking feathered hat.

William had at least made an effort and donned a vampire cape and fake fangs. Ira was in his normal clothing. This had upset the girl a great deal until William had explained that Ira was dressed as a banker, which was just another form of pirate. Kai had been dubious naturally but with Candy on the line she wasn't about to argue, at least not for long.

Ira never usually used his limp as an accuses to a avoid any sort of work and when people pitied him because of it he would go to any lengths to prove them wrong, but today was different, he thrust the injury forward like shield to defend himself against the idea of trick or treating. Instead William got settled with the task. The kindly old butler quite happy to comply the pair set off to their first house.

Kai hung off Williams hand as they walked jabbering happily as she tried to tug him to every house. "Patience miss." William reminded her gently. "Lets try a Halloween friendly house first." by halloween friendly he meant one display decorations. "Okay this one then!" kai announced dragging him up the path of a rather friendly looking place with simple spider wed decorations, a knock on the door a friendly looking man came to the door dressed as a bug spray bottle, he didn't say anything just gave a rather creepy smile and put something inside Kai's candy collection box."Thankyou!" kai beamed as the man slowly closed the door.

"So what did the nice man give you miss?" William asked curiously. Egarly Kai shoved her hand in and drew out two pieces of paper. She stared at them and frowned disappointed. "He just gave me a picture of naked ladies." she complained. Williams eyes went wide and he snatched the strip club tickets out of her small hands. "I better keep hold of these miss, you shouldn't have things like that in your candy box, we'll have better luck in the next house."

Halloween had been going quiet well for Pilot all things considered, ok that was an under exaggeration. It had been rocking, almost literally he thought with a smirk as he bobbed his head along to the beat as he listened to some rock music from his new Class Headphones. Whistling slightly he stopped and looked curiously at a sign that proclaimed the house he was in front of was a Halloween inspired museum and that anyone that entered and looked around got free candy. Coooool.


Walking through the museum he examined all the possessions of the three witches, read the fascinating spiel on their hanging and gave the cute black cat a quick pat before grabbing a packet of pop rocks happily as he made his way out through the back door. That’d been the most interesting stop of the night so far.

Deciding to cut through a pumpkin patch to get the next street over faster Pilot was taken off guard when a little kid muttering about demons shoved a bottle into his hand. Eying it suspiciously and reading the label calling it ‘Pop’ Pilot ditched it at the nearest bin. Who knew what was in the bottle?
