There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing.  Jethrow sighed and sat down in a chair, resting his staff against the wall and passing his fingers over his forehead. "Whatever that thing is, it was in Anya's room. Did you know about it, Luke?" he asked in a stern voice, opening his eyes and looking directly at the young man. He heard Lunora wake up, but he paid her no mind, just as he did the "finding Anya" comment. He could only hope to avoid that topic for a good while. I have a feeling we don't want to find her just now, he thought sadly, as he brushed his hand over the pocket where he held the stone that had been on the floor. It exuded a feel of darkness when he held it, and he had a feeling Anya hadn't noticed. Demon and fairy blood; a dangerous mix.

Luke sighed and pet the beast more. "It's her new pet. I've known about it for a while. She loves it to death." he said, sighing.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing. Jethrow sighed and shook his head disapprovingly. "Alright, so we can safely assume this thing poses no threat." Hesitantly, he pulled the stone from his pocket and held it out so Luke and Lunora could see it. "What about this? Don't touch it." He ended his statement on a warning tone; holding the stone himself made his spine shiver horribly, and he looked at it warily. "The beast was sniffing it, and whimpering, when I entered. It's warm, as if it's been in the fire for a long time, but the fire was out cold."

Luke studied the crystal. "I've never seen it before." he said. He held out his hand close to the crystal. "I can feel the warmth off it. But I don't know what it does." he said confusedly.

As Luke's hand came close to the stone, it glowed a dark red, and Jethrow retracted it closer to him, narrowing his eyes at the shining crystal. "It appears to be demon reactive," he muttered, glancing up at Luke. If it was, in general, demon reactive, he could count off the possible plot of Anya creating it. She'd have specified the thing to be demon and fairy reactive. But that still left that this thing was supposed to land in a demon's hand. And it was clearly made with dark magic, too.

Luke looked to the crystal and used his control of water to take it from Jethrow, but suspend it in midair so he wouldn't have to touch it. "If it does react, maybe it can communicate." he said, bringing the crystal a bit closer.

"And with what are we hoping to communicate?" the wizard said frustratedly, dropping his face into his hands exasperatedly. It was hard for him to believe that, in the first place, communication was possible. He was also quite sure he didn't want to communicate with whatever had kidnapped, or more likely charmed, Anya into leaving. Is everyone else really so blinded by the fairy in her that they can't take into their considerations that she had powerful demon blood, and a highly evil influence in her life. "Without knowing anything, really, about this situation, what do you two automatically assume happened here?"

"This is dark magic. I can feel it." Luke said, twirling the crystal some. "If you can communicate, I want to know what you did with Anya." he said. He bet the dark magic, which loved the fire, would hate his water. He made some drip onto the crystal to try and make it react.

Of course, Anya was being made to be a victim in this situation. "Luke, perhaps Anya left. Perhaps the stone won't react to your question, because she left it to trick us into not following her," the wizard suggested, his expression darkening.

Luke sighed and tossed the crystal into his trashcan. He then looked to the beast. "Do you think you can track her down, friend? She might need us." he said, petting the beast.

"Are you trying your hardest to ignore me, Luke St. Binah, or have you suddenly gone deaf?" the wizard demanded in a strong tone, standing and walking to the side of the unidentified beast, ignoring as the creature sniffed his shoes. "That stone is a way of scrying whomever is the target. Clearly, someone wanted to know what was happening here, particularly what Anya was doing. I doubt there are enough scented traces here for any creature, much less this one, to find her, as well."

Luke looked to the wizard. "And do you have any better ideas, Jethrow? I just want to find Anya and make sure she's okay." he said, growling, floating the crystal back out of the trashcan. "And how can this damn thing help us?"

He rubbed his forehead and looked at the floating crystal. "I believe that Anya is perfectly fine. My theory here is, aware of what she was doing or not, Anya left willingly with whatever dark force was watching her through this stone. Most likely, the stone allowed them to see Anya during her daily life, and they learned quickly how to ingratiate themselves to her. Like I said, I believe she left of her own free will. In such cases, dark force or not, she won't be harmed. Are you satisfied?" It bothered Jethrow that he was, so far, the only one looking at all the possibilities; he didn't want to pose himself as the enemy in the situation.

Luke sighed some. "So what are we supposed to do?" the wolf asked, putting the crystal on his desk that was near his bed. He was worried for Anya and this was worrying him. She was like a younger sister.

There is nothing more for us to do; we have no logical way to go about tracking her. Even if Anya has been kidnapped or left of her own free will, she will return. In such a case, we must prepare for all possibilities of her return," he said with a serious look. His face easily conveyed the message: prepare to fight her.
