Kay was just about five seconds away from sight range when the explosion went off, meaning he felt the boom, but with no knowledge as to where or why. When he was in range the two aura's he noted became clear to him. And Etsushi was on the ground. "Down nice and easy girl," he said rubbing the mane. The lion purred as she lowered to the ground and Kay hopped off. "Etsushi!" he called out having heard the doc's explanation of what had occurred. He'd also picked up on Zane... and then he was hit by a grim moment of realization. Falling to his knees, Kay couldn't believe what had become of etsushi. The smell of burning wood and the distinctly more prominant hint of Etsushi's blood he smelled made it clear that whoever was here was using puppets. "Burning wood... burned paper... kamikaze drone. Enemy with high level explosive means much collateral damage. Not to be taken lightly. Unexpected for this to be zane, and for sushi to be injured." He was speaking outloud, but only in a feeble attempt to keep his thoughts away from the demon in his head that would tell him to chase after Zane. He spoke to Aeden suddenly. "We go now. Kazekage sent me to investigate. Must bring her to Jade. Keep hunting, I'll look from the skies when I complete my mission." With that he lifted Sushi effortlessly and mounted her onto the back of the Manticore in front of him.
