The New Wineskin I'll just say this: religion doesn't cause war; people cause war. That doesn't make sense. People also "cause" religion. Religion is what people make it.

Artto The New Wineskin I'll just say this: religion doesn't cause war; people cause war. That doesn't make sense. People also "cause" religion. Religion is what people make it. So, you're saying that the idea that people cause war doesn't make sense?

The New Wineskin So, you're saying that the idea that people cause war doesn't make sense? No, I disagree with the statement that people cause war, but religion doesn't. Your statement is analogous to: Ideas don't cause war, people cause war. Sounds deep, but doesn't mean anything.

Artto No, I disagree with the statement that people cause war, but religion doesn't. You're saying that an idea with no physical body can inflict physical, bodily harm on two or more groups of people (warfare)?

The New Wineskin You're saying that an idea with no physical body can inflict physical, bodily harm on two or more groups of people (warfare)? Not inflict harm, cause the conflict. I never said "inflict" anywhere.

I'm not trying to be offensive to you, but you are completely wrong, every religion has made its mark in history. If Judaism never existed, World War II would have never begun and the United States would have never become a superpower. Also Christianity or Islam would have never been created. Islam shaped the Middle East and most of Africa. Without Islam, a ruler named Mansa Musa would have never gone to Europe and shown the Europeans the vast wealth of Africa and it would have never been claimed by England of France or Potugal. And finaly if Christianity was never created Michealangelo would have never been inspired to create the painting on the roof of the Sistine Chapel and Martin Luther King Jr. was Baptist, a branch of Christianty, and if he was never Christian, that would have dramaticaly changed his view of cival rights. And finaly the proof I have to give you, these 3 religions worship the same God, in different ways, but the same one. They all kneel before the one true God in Musque/ Mass/ and Synogauge. The 4 billion that worship him, is the only proof anyone can give anyone else.

Aspen 2010 World War II would have never begun and the United States would have never become a superpower. You could say the same for Hitler and the nazis. Does that make Hitler a good person?

If you disagree, give me PROOF[THAT GOD IS REAL] And no, Im not saying your religion is wrong, its just that Im athiest and I think some religions are better off never made. It would be better without the wars over religion I completely agree with you.
