┌─────────────────────────────┐

Gavin didn't look over when he heard Daniel's reaction to his question. He knew he'd react somehow. The warm tea started to slip into his mouth when the blond started to explain it in more detail. Gavin put his teacup back down and looked over at the troubled guy next to him. So this was a more complicated topic. Why was he telling him something like this? Not that Daniel was revealing everything. It was obvious that he was leaving things out.

Be exactly like them? His reasoning, so far, didn't make sense. After all, his parents were young once to and weren't suddenly famous and awesome at what they did. It shouldn't have been a problem to show them how he was progressing. Not to mention the fact that people who are creative tend to feel like they are worse than they really are. At least it was that way most of the time. The way he talked about it bothered him as well: as if they died. It just seemed like there was so much more to the story. Plus, how could you be just like two different people? After all, there were two of them and one of him. He probably would have said something along those lines in response, but he didn't.

Gavin felt like he shouldn't touch on the subject at the moment. At the same time, he had to say something. Or maybe do something. This would be something Elijah would be good at. He glanced at the redhead for a second. What would he do? It obviously mattered to the blond. Gavin slipped his left hand into his hair on that side and shook it back and forth. It probably looked like he was scratching his head, but he was really just trying to figure out what to do in this situation.

"Why do you play? Why do you write songs?" He paused a moment between questions. Gavin placed his elbow on the counter after turning the stool. His knees pointed more towards Daniel and his forearm of his left arm hung off the counter; making his fingers dangle toward the ground. His right arm rested on his right leg in a lazy manner. It wasn't that he was trying to change the subject. For some reason he wanted to ask those two questions. Maybe it was related to the current topic. Not like he was trying to figure it out. You can't figure out something without being handed all the details. These questions seemed safer because they weren't directly related to the topic. After all, he could of asked something else completely. Who knows if it was the correct way to approach it, but he couldn't stay silent.

Lacey turned in her seat a bit to get a view of the band. She took another sip of her drink while listening the music. Her long flowing dark hair rested gently against back, with a few strands sneaking around her shoulders. Suddenly she heard an extremely soft sound. Her eyes darted around to find out where it was coming from. With a sharp gasp of realization, she placed her glass on the counter and picked up her purse. After a moment of digging, her small fingers pulled out her phone. The sweetly active melody could be heard a little better now. She flipped open the phone and put it next to her ear. "Hello?" Lacey stood up and tried to block the noise from entering her left ear with her hand. "I can't really hear you," she replied back. "Huh? The music box?" She replied with uncertainty in her voice. Since she was having a hard time hearing, she started walking toward a quieter place. Before she could get far: she stopped. "Wait! What!? H..ello..." Lacey pulled the phone away from her ear and stared at it. She walked back to the bar and slipped the phone into her purse. After sitting down again, she took another sip of her drink. A soft smile was on her face as she drifted off into her own thoughts.

At least he wasn't drinking. Then again, that also made his recent admissions utterly bizarre. If he wasn't intoxicated or emotionally stressed, than why was he so intent on baring his soul to the young man beside him? Gavin had to believe, by now, that he was either strange or estranged - of which, neither idea appealed to Daniel at all. Especially since he'd worked so hard to find a way to befriend Gavin in the first place. Yet here he was, staring into a cup of tea like usual, but this time with his lips flapping and words falling out between them. It was... embarrassing. Despite everything though, Daniel was also quite relieved. He hadn't really told much of this to any one else, or particularly wanted to. The blond wondered why that was: if it had to do with Gavin's overall silence or those untapped possibilities between them?

Pursing his lips, Daniel's gaze flitted sheepishly over to Gavin's profile. The boy seemed discontented, or maybe contemplative, complimented by an idle rub of his hand through his hair. Then, slowly, the blackette turned towards him and Daniel responded in kind unthinkingly. Ankles crossed and held close to the stool, his right forearm rested on the bar, holding up his upper body while his left arm cross over his lap. Head canted nonchalantly in a downwards, right-leaning line, his hair fell loosely over his delicate, arched brows.

The two questions that came his way caught him off guard: after all that he'd said, Gavin was... considerate enough to steer away from the subject. Had he noticed, then, that he wasn't entirely comfortable talking about his past? Shamefaced, Daniel glanced towards the bar's interior once before letting his mouth slip into a soft, self-complacent smile. "After many years of wondering that myself, I realized the answer quite suddenly. It's happiness... Freedom. I can create myself and create answers... I can discover new ideas and share them.... It's harmony, a peacefulness inside me I can't replace. My thoughts, my dreams, even m-my nightmares... all written down and expressed through combined rhythm and verse." Daniel replied softly, almost poetically as a faraway expression overwhelmed his cherubic face with a rosy blush and half-lidded eyes.

Without realizing half what he was saying, he continued on, the hand upon the bar curling up so that his fingers could scrawl invisible notes on its surface. Around and around, tiny music notes took form, unseen and unheard. "I made my first friend in high school, learning the viola. He thought I should try a cheerier song, since mine at the time seemed... sad. I liked that someone understood my feelings, even though I hadn't said anything. When I first saw you play, I wanted to play back. I'm sorry only that it took so long for me to try..." He reminisced, gaze sliding onto Gavin's, holding without hesitance for the first time. His smile broadened and white teeth showed beneath.

{{ Sorry for the wait. I've been super busy. ;.; }}

Melanie hurried over to the Haunted Music Box. She heard rumors, but never had a chance to go. It was a surprise to hear all that noise in the background when she called Lacey on the phone earlier. Luckily, she was on her way home from somewhere else and was actually nearby. Melanie entered the place and looked around the place as she walked. That's when her hazel eyes rested on two guys at the bar. One had silky black hair, while the other had golden strands with blue-green eyes. Something about them made her giggle as she passed. She didn't look away until after she walked by them completely. If she wasn't in a hurry to find Lacey, she would of just stopped and asked them something in particular.

It didn't take her long to find Lacey. "Hey girl!" She said cheerfully as she gave the quieter girl a hug. "Having fun?" she asked as she looked over at the band playing. "Hmm they seem pretty good," she turned back around and saw Lacey's drink. Her fingers slipped around the glass before she brought it to her mouth. Before anyway could protest, she drank the whole thing. "Gah! I needed that!" She said to no one in particular as she put the glass back on the counter. "That's some good lemonade," she said with a smile, "thanks."

Christoph was surprised by a whirlwind of energy that popped up next to Lacey. It had blond hair, too tight of a t-shirt, and a big grin. He realized it was another woman. She carried herself in a very distinctive manner.

"Let me guess. You're a DJ, right?" Christoph grinned at her, enjoying the exuberance she brought to the place. Even the Haunted Music Box reacted positively to her.

Gavin watched him as he listened. It was an interesting answer. A bit similar to his reasons for playing the drums, but for the most part it was quite different. His reasoning just seemed way more complicated. At least the blond seemed better than he was just moments ago; probably because he was talking about something different. Well, at least it seemed like he asked the right questions.

His eyes wandered toward Daniel's hand. What was he doing? Maybe pretending to write something. Whatever it was, he couldn't quite make it out so he looked back at Daniel. That was when his green-eyed friend started talking about high school. Oh, he was revealing more stuff again when he didn't have to. And here he thought the guy was more of a silent type. Not that it bothered him. After all, Gavin is best friends with Elijah.

"Hmm.." was the noise that slipped out of his mouth while Daniel was talking. He made him want to play back huh? The songs that his band played. The music that the other members created. Daniel was more intrigued by his drumming? It just seemed...odd.

Gavin's lips parted ever so slightly when Daniel gave him a firm gaze for the first time ever. The huge smile seemed too contagious for him to resist; so a soft smile appeared on Gavin's face. He lifted his left hand up to catch his head. His chin landed gently into the palm of his hand while his fingers rested on his cheek.

That was when another person entered the place. Before Gavin could say anything in response, the girl started to walk by them. Not that it would have mattered normally, but she looked at them and laughed. His arm dropped away from his face as he turned to get a better look at her. His small smile long gone by now. Why did she laugh like that?

Before Lacey had a time to respond to her, the guy behind the bar said something. Melanie turned her attention to the blond guy with odd color eyes. Maybe they were contacts? She flashed him a smile before replying. "How'd you know?"

Lacey spun around on the stool when she saw a blond walking toward her out of the corner of her eye. Her arms wrapped around the girl to return the hug. Lacey merely smiled in response to her question. She knew her well enough to know that she was going to be extra hyper. After all, the girl just entered a new domain; something that she will have an urge to explore. That was just how Melanie was. Her eyes watched her every movement, not minding the fact that her drink was now gone. Another smile appeared on her face when the blond thanked her for the drink. They were so different, but it was refreshing.

Lacey turned to look at Christoph when he asked the question. Well, it didn't totally surprise her that he figured it out. He seemed to know a lot of things. Not everything though. Lacey started thinking about their weird conversation and the misunderstanding that happened. It made her glace over at Wells for a second. He was dancing with the girl from earlier.

Melanie gave him another smile. "Call me Mel," she replied, "I'm good thanks." The blond turned her attention to Lacey. "Let's dance!" She didn't give the brunette any chance to respond, since she was already ushering her to the dance floor. Her fingers were wrapped gently around the other girls wrist. Grip firm enough to keep hold of the girl. She pulled her away from the bar with a smile on her face. Melanie was excited; she has been sitting, being all bored for most of the night. Dancing would be good for both of them.

Lacey pondered Christoph's statement. It seemed like a normal response, but based on random things she heard earlier; she wasn't so sure. Did he actually meet the guy before? Why was she even asking such an absurd question?

As soon as Mel mentioned dancing, her eyes went wide. Of course there was no time to protest as Mel dragged her out toward the dance floor. "Mel..." she started to plead her case, but stopped. There was no way Melanie would go for that tired excuse. "This isn't really your kind of music though."

Melanie didn't even bother to glance back. Soon they arrived on the dance floor. After letting go of her friends hand, she turned around and smiled. "I just wanna dance," she replied, "and I know you do to." With that said, she started dancing in an unconventional way.

It was true that this wasn't really her type of music to dance to. Melanie was much better with a different type of dance style. You could say that it wasn't really popular with most females, but she loved it.

"Come on," she begged when she realized Lacey was just standing there. "Don't worry about it."

Lacey sighed and looked back toward Christoph. The look she gave was wishing he'd save her from her predicament. Not that it was anything serious, but still. She knew she wouldn't be able to fight Melanie, but she was too shy to dance. The girl was right though, she wanted to dance. That doesn't mean she should or that it would be easy for her to begin. As Lacey thought, she stood still and watched Melanie dance in her own weird way. A laugh escaped from her mouth.

That was when Melanie tried to get her to actually dance. Lacey looked down at the ground and fiddled with the edge of her little black dress. Slowly but surely, she started to move to the music. Every once in a while she would stop and let an embarrassed giggle slip out of her mouth.

((Maybe I should have put them together for that part...in one post. Hahahaaa))

((I agree. But it's ok, it's not a big deal. You can do it next time!))

Christoph laughed, seeing the obvious distress on Lacey's face. He wasn't laughing at her pain, but rather at her odd distaste for all things social. It was a bit ironic that she was so painfully shy and introverted, yet came to a bar and also enjoyed playing music. Playing music was something that could not be kept private and alone. Somebody was always bound to hear you, and therefore give you an audience.

He gave her a thumbs up for encouragement, then was distracted by other patrons coming up and asking for a drink. This time, it was a group of the misty figures. Their language consisted of different parts of their form changing colors and shapes. He gave them their drinks (which consisted of various mixtures of light and sound with a splash of helium for spirits) and they thanked him with a rainbow of colors.

╔═════════════════╗
Elijah Mel Lacey
╚═════════════════╝

The girl dancing with Wells mentioned that she had to go to the restroom. This caused Elijah to move closer to the girl in order to whisper something in her ear. A cute little giggle was her prompt response to whatever he uttered under his breath. Or maybe it was just the sensation she felt when the hot air tickled her ear. Who knows really. Soon she was walking away.

By this point, Lacey was totally comfortable with dancing. Her body moved to the elegant music in a smooth and hypnotizing type fashion. Even though she seemed to be completely free to dance how she wanted; in reality, she was still holding back. Now one ever noticed that before though. They always just complimented her on how well she could dance. Some people even would ask for lessons. It was a bit surprising to her. How could see teach others when she just feels each individual song and has her body react to it in a way that seems to flow nicely. Each song would elicit a different type of dance from her. There might have been similarities, but the dances were unique to the song that was playing at the time. At one point, some guy tried to dance with her from behind. She stopped dancing immediately and froze up. Soft hands pulled her away and twirled her around. It was Melanie; she ended up placing herself between the random guy and herself. Unfortunately, she was face to face with Wells. Her mouth dropped slightly as she took in a sharp breath. She twirled around to face Melanie in hopes that he didn't notice her. After all, he was looking somewhere else at the time.

Melanie watched lacey after she saved her from the random guy. She was still dancing in an awkwardly unique way. That was an intriguing reaction. Why did Lacey turn around so fast? And why didn't she start dancing again? A smile crept on her face as she leaned closer to Lacey. "Who's that?"

Lacey just stared at Melanie for a moment before responding. "Nobody..." He was nobody important. Just some guy that was in the same bar that happens to be in a band with a friend that threatened her for some unknown reason.

"Hmm," Melanie pondered with a mischievous smile. It was obvious that the guy wasn't just a nobody. There was something going on and she was going to figure out what that was. It could have been that Lacey had a crush on him. Then again, she knew that Lacey was ultra shy in general so it might not of been that at all. That didn't stop her from doing what she did next though. Melanie grabbed a hold of the other girls hands gently in an attempt to make the other girl start dancing. After a little while, she acted like she was bumped into (or tripped over her own feet) and stumbled forward. This caused her to run into Lacey and "accidentally" push the girl right into the guy with red hair. She continued the act with a convincingly normal reaction; which consisted of a surprised gasp and a failed attempt to stop them from crashing into anyone. Of course, she didn't run into anyone but Lacey.

Elijah glanced down when he thought he saw someone familiar out of the corner of his eye, but the girl was facing the other direction already. He pondered a moment as he glanced over at his band mates. That was when he felt a warm body careen into him. Instinctively he looked down and placed his hands on the girls shoulders. "Are you alright?"

Lacey gasped as her eyes went wide. What was Mel doing? She didn't have much time to think because she slammed into the one she didn't want to run into. At least, she was almost positive that it was him. Her body jumped slightly when hands rested gently on her shoulders. After she heard the question, she didn't want to turn around or respond. She just wanted to crawl under a table. In the end, she took a step away as she turned around to face him. She let him know she was okay by making one of those sounds that Asians tend to make to show they are listening or saying yes without actually uttering the word. "Sorry..." she added before she started to turn away from him.

Elijah removed his hands from her shoulder shortly after she jerked and smiled at her response. "Hey..." he started, "you play the bass right?"

Lacey stopped in mid turn and looked back at him. "Uh yea...why?"

Elijah flashed a warm smile at her before speaking. "That's awesome! You should let me hear you play sometime."

"She'd love to!" Melanie piped in before Lacey even had a chance to respond.

Elijah tilted his head to the side to get a better look at the blond. "Eeeh!?" was the sound that came out of his mouth in response. "And who might this lovely young lady be?" he asked with a charming smile.

"Call me Mel," she replied with her normal smile.

The whole time, Lacey couldn't get a word in edge wise. It's not that she really wanted to, but she just had an unsettling feeling about the whole thing. I mean they don't really expect her to play for him do they? That was when the other band member walked over.

"Wells," the light blue haired guy started as he glanced at Lacey, "shouldn't you finish your beer before it gets warm?"

"Oh yea," Elijah responded as if he totally forgot he ordered another one. In fact, he really did forget about it. At least his mind was clear from anything related to Gavin; which was the whole point of going to the dance floor in the first place. "Sorry ladies," he began after turning to the two girls, "I have a business meeting to finish. See ya around." He flashed a smile and followed his band mate back to their table. They really did have an important conversation to finish up.

Lacey looked down right after the light blue haired guy glanced over toward her. It was a normal type of look in general. Nothing particularly suspicious about it, but she knew exactly what he was telling her. It was a warning: a reminder of their previous conversation. Lacey only looked back up when Elijah said his goodbye. With the two gone, she twirled on her heels and made her way to the bar. She wasn't in the mood to dance anymore.

Melanie watched the end of the whole situation. It was a bit confusing. Something was up but she couldn't tell exactly what it was. Well, now was a good of time as any to ask. "Wait..." she trailed off as she followed her friend to the bar.

Lacey made her way to an open spot at the bar. She tapped her fingers on the counter one after the other as she waited for Christoph to come over to her. "May I have a Long Island Iced Tea please?" she asked when he came over. It was a strong drink with a lot in it, but she didn't care. She took a break from drinking with that last one. Plus, it's not like she would get wasted from it unless she chugged the drink. She wasn't very good at doing such a thing. Melanie on the other hand: was a master. She was the one that made Lacey try to chug a beer. Just remembering that moment made Lacey cringe for a short moment. So disgusting and hard. Lacey wanted just one more alcoholic beverage. As soon as she got it she was planning on finding a table to sit at. After all, there wasn't enough room at the bar for the two of them.

((I shall post because it's been about a week and yea...that took FOREVER! Hahahaaa))
