Serrenedy fell into the shift world, materializing on her bed. She shook out her braid, and straighened her trench coat. She gripped her head. "Woah...head rush" She groaned. She got up and in an instant the maze was in her hand and charged. She rose her window, sending a charge out to kill any welps in the immidiate area. She lifted herself onto her flat roof and stood at attention, looking for her helper for the night.

He was a little reluctant at first about showing off the nightmares, so he thought to pull out a painting of a sky filled of whelps. A vision he's seen well too many times before, and it had an almost fearful grasp on him every time he'd seen it. Talk about giving feeling to your work. "Right this way then" he gave a little sigh and a chuckle as he led her into his work room. There were painting supplies littered about and a work in progress on the easel. It bore an outline of a nightmare, but that was it. There were no defining marks to make it such. He went to a stack of paintings and sifted through them. He always kept a blank painting on top of the stack for various reasons. "Ah.. here it is!" he pulled out the painting of the whelps and flipped it over to show her. "I know it's a little dark and creepy.. but you'd have to be a special kind of person to really see it's... She was staring at the painting with a look of fearful recognition. "You know.. how about I pick a different one.. this one isn't that great" He put it back under the pile and started searching for the nightmare. There was no way she could have recognized the whelps.. The chances of her.. It couldn't... He stopped looking through the pile and let out a sigh. "You know.. don't you.. I saw it when I showed you the whelps.. but this would really prove my doubts." He pulled out the painting of a nightmare and showed it to her. "Welcome to the shift..."

Leon hadn't been waiting too long when he heard a some kind of small blast come out of one of the windows above, figuring that it was his nightly charge he was supposed to look after. He went in the building and took the stairs to the roof where he found Serrenedy, trench coat and all.
"You know...it's not a good idea to draw too much attention to where you are.." he stated, referring to the charge she'd sent out the window, "...and I think a Nightmare would still be able to tell you're not one of them." he said as he approached her, resting the staff on one shoulder as he glanced around. Keeping calm as he kept an eye out for anything....Whelps or Nightmares mostly since from what he's seen Fiends liked to stalk the streets and he hasn't really seen Voids on rooftops unless they'd chased him to one.
"What do you normally do here? I'm gonna meet with someone later and I told your sister I'd keep an eye on you..so you'd have to come with.." he said... not like it would hurt too much to bring her along...as long as she didn't start singing or do something crazy.

She nodded, then smiled. "Let them come, Sally worries so much I hardly get any fun...Nightmares are a LOT of fun" She swung her Mace back onto her belt as nothing seemed to be coming. She turned to Leon and smiled. "Well come-on cutie, this world isn't gonna pulverize itself" With a giggle she jumped off her roof and onto another, completly in her element here.

Night had fallen, but the pull of exhaustion no longer came to Zachary, he could now easily stay awake for nights at a time, after all, sleeping no longer rested him, but tonight was different, there seemed to be some strange pull for sleep, almost as if the Shift was calling him. Better to answer the call, he decided, and today he had to try something, maybe this is what called him, not the shift, but as a mere joke he had purchased an entire suit of platemail with a small portion of the earnings from the beam sabre he had created. This armor was for "display" but it was still as sturdy as the day he had made it, and he didn't want to encounter a nightmare again in his pajamas. The armor was amazingly comfortable and he fell asleep almost instantly. When Zachary awoke in the shift he was happy to find that the armor had indeed transfered with him, and even happier to find that it matched very well indeed with his robotic arm, so well, in fact that at a quick glance the arm could be mistakened as part of the armor. Tonight, he decided, was time to have a bit of fun and break in his new metal skin, tonight he'd hunt a nightmare.

After Serrenedy said what she did Leon narrowed his eyes slightly, but before he could say anything she jumped over to another roof. He growled quietly and jumped after her, moving beside her and grabbing her shoulder. "I won't allow you to fight any Nightmares...if they come around we hide. You can break things and we can take on Whelps, Feinds and Voids we come across..but no Nightmares." he said in a serious tone.
Though it might seem that he was concerned for her, there was another reason he didn't want to confront any Nightmares....but he wasn't going to share it with anyone.

She blinked at him, then laughed hystericly, fully throwing back her head. She showed him the Mace. "I've delt with Nightmares before darling" She purred, though not at him, she was just obsenly attached to her weppon. She stroked the uncharged mace between spikes. She blinked and replaced it. "Sorry" She said in her normal voice "This place has an odd effect on my personality, possibly lack of sugar possibly...bloodlust. I don't know" She giggled maddly once more. "Leet's go a hunting" She chirped, once agian a bit manic.

Leon narrowed his eyes more, almost glaring, "I don't care if you've dealt with them before...if you want me to stay with you in the Shift then don't get ideas about going after Nightmares.." he said sternly, then broke off the almost glare and stepped away, "We can hunt while we head toward the park and hang around there...I'm supposed to meet someone there tonight." he said as he walked to the edge of the building and looked down at the street, checking for any Fiends or Voids hanging out down there.

Caddy

The first picture Fenix pulled out caught Caddy completely off guard. Her body froze in an instant and her breathing halted for the few moments he held it up for. Keep yourself composed, she reminded herself. He doesn't need to know that you are too familiar with this yourself. As she followed him into his work work, she feared of the other pictures he had to show her. Maybe it was just a coincidence that one picture he had painted had what looked like whelps in it. Hopefully that's all it was. Just as she turned to him, another image was held up, this one also had whelps. Okay..so maybe he just thought up a similar image and recreated it twice. But what if it wasn't just a coincidence? What if he really was someone else who had been in the Shift. Yeah, I've heard about other people being there and even witnessed a few people dying while I was in it. But never had I met someone in the real world that didn't think I was a complete nutcase when I told them about my dreams.
Everything changed the second he pulled out a painting of a nightmare. The world seemed to stop for a second as she tried to process all of this. She wasn't alone. I'm not alone.

She stroked the mace again. "So long as I get to kill" She promised. She hopped to another building. "Come-on cutie, wouldn't want your friends to have to deal with an unwelcome reception, let's go clear out the park"

Fenix let out another soft sigh.. A part of him felt sad, but a smile spread across his lips. "Still opposed to spending the night?" the flirtatous thought behind the words held an almost joking tone, as they both knew spending the night hardly meant anything because sleep would result in the two of them entering the shift. "To be honest, I'm actually supposed to meet someone at the park tonight.. I'd appreciate having a little company on the way."

Leon was getting slightly annoyed at getting called cutie, but he'd let that slide for now since she was going to comply with him. He followed her to the other building and nodded, "Yeah, alright...we can 'clear out the park'..." he said then jumped again, but instead of going to another rooftop he aimed for the side of the building, kicking off of that and landing quietly in the middle of the street. Leon then glanced up and motioned for Serrenedy to follow. Even thought the streets were a bit more dangerous Leon like walking more then jumping around like that...plus there was more places to go into and make it harder to get surrounded by packs. Leon went to the edge of the sidewalk and started going toward the park, keeping an eye out for Voids and Fiends.

Zachary decided the best place to go was the park, being the center of the town it would make a great starting place for his hunt. A nightmare would be great for tonight, after all, he had just finished his warm-up on the small pack of fiends, only about three, and the armor was an excellent addition. The fiends claws hadn't even left a mark on the tempered steel surface. It did cause a slight issue on how it slowed his movements by a bit, and it was no where near as comfortable as he had origionally thought, but it was worth it. He made a note however to not get overconfident because a nightmare with a battle axe could probably do more damage than 'hadn't even left a mark'.

Caddy

At this point Caddy wasn't even sure what emotion she should convey on her face other than utter shock. She shook her head, trying to get back to reality and actually process what she had just learned. Looking up to Fenix, "Uhh...yeah. Sure." Her mind had some trouble believing that the man she just met this morning held onto the same secret she did, the only difference was that he painted what he saw, whereas Caddy would replay her nights in her journal, almost making a story out of it. She could feel her eyes become watery with tears, but tried to hold them back. It wasn't because she was sad, or overcome with joy, but because she knew no other way to react to this. She was overwhelmed. Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand, she pulled herself together.

When he noticed Caddy's eyes start to water, he instictively stepped toward her and wrapped his arms around her. "I know.. it can be a cruel and strange world. Somehow things have a way of working out. I promise you that.. Alright Caddy? I promise everything will be fine." He pulled away to look her in the eyes. "So how about we turn off the tears and get going, hmm?" he said with a smile. He grabbed some pillows out from the closet and threw them on the couch. "As my guest, I insist you have my bed. I'll be fine on the couch." The bed was so much more comfortable anyways, but he had a way with welcoming hospitality.
