Reaper blinked, then let a small smile cross his face. "Oh, she does a very thorough job when she's angry. She didn't do much the first time, but I'm sure she's making her point quite clear this time around."

Cat grinned and returned to her steak. That was just fine by her.

Reaper relaxed a bit and turned his attention back to what was left of his own meal. Well...at least they got that out of the way.

Meanwhile, Alcina had gone back to walking the halls. Now that she was recovering her powers, she could get a better feel of things. And this whole place was...different. Not just the magic, but she was sure that the hallway ways different the first time she walked down it. And the doors...there seemed to be more of them. This entire house could change and rearrange itself. There was only one hallway that seemed to remain constant, and it was the one that led from the shop to the main areas of the home.
Stranger still...she could swear that every now and then...she'd catch a hint of X's power scent.

ENTER from UNDERGROUND EXHIBIT

Edel and Natalie faded into being inside the shop of her home. The older woman let a rather satisfied smile cross her face, then glanced down at her daughter. "Alright, why don't you take your new dolls and head up to your room for a bit. I need to take care of my guests now."
Natalie nodded her head and started towards the door ahead of her mother. Once she was out of sight, Edel looked around the shop. Now then...to tend to the Goddess first. The original Edel was currently keeping Richard company. And Michael didn't seem to be in much of a hurry to leave just yet. She'd see to those two once they had finished eating. After the day they've had, she didn't want to bother them very much. So...time to see what she had out an about that could help the rather lost goddess. Did she want to focus on something that would bring the woman's powers back fully? Or did she want to do something about the woman's severe depression that was sure to sneak up on her once she had time to think about recent events again. Honestly...poor thing. First she gave up her practices to start a family with the man she fell in love with, then when they were reunited, he had changed drastically. The only way she could get anything out of him was to find other means of entertainment, which broke even more rules of her practice. Now she was without her husband, her son was dead because she wasn't watching him, she'd nearly died a few times, lost her powers a few times, and now is too terrified to try and help someone else she has feelings for. With her race, culture, upbringing, and all of that good stuff...the goddess probably didn't know how to handle such negative emotions. Let alone something to this extremity. And if she tried to bottle it all up, things would only get worse.
...of course...if she had her full powers back, she could easily deal with her emotions the way she was used to. And she might be able to find something to actively help those she wanted again.

Tracing her fingers over the bindings of a few ancient books sitting on a nearby shelf, Edel stopped and suddenly drew her fingers back. After a silent pause, she grinned and turned to look at another corner of her shop. "I suppose..." she began, talking to the air. "I could start with that. If it's what you really want. Honestly I think your previous action was a little foolish. I told you to tend to her, not giver her that much energy. Healing her wounds and disabilities would have been more than enough. I could have done something to give her the energy to walk on her own." she said with a small sigh as she started for the opposite corner. "Now I'm going to have to nurse you back to health as well."
She paused again, listening as she came to a wall of shelves. Her eyes scanned the very top one, then rested for a moment on a small black box. Carefully, it slid off the shelf by itself and gently floated down to her waiting hand. "Yes...I suppose you would prefer to be bed-ridden for weeks rather than see her in such a state. Still...try to be a bit more thought before emotion next time." she said out loud again. She looked over towards another nearby shelf, and let two more small boxes slide down and into her arms. She looked down at the boxes for a moment, then started off towards the door.

Edel continued down the long, lavish hallway, glancing absently at a few of the rooms as she passed. Just to make sure that there was no one occupying them. She knew there wasn’t, and that there shouldn’t be…but she liked to make sure. She wasn’t very fond of surprises, especially not in her own home.
She paused briefly as she came to the hall that led into the kitchen area and stared down it briefly. Michael and his friend should still be inside finishing their meals, there was no need to bother them. So, she turned and continued down the hallway. When she came to the large opening that encircled a now grand staircase, she paused once again. She glanced up the stairs, then decided better of it and continued on. The original was taking care of her estranged husband…no need for her to check up on things upstairs. Soon she found the woman wrapped in a blanket wandering around her halls and smiled a bit to herself as she walked up to the goddess.
“Feeling better, I see.” Edel said as she stopped behind her.

Alcina jumped a bit at her voice and quickly turned around to face her. “I’m…yes. I’m feeling much better considering.”

Edel’s smile warmed a bit. “Good. You still have quite a ways to go before you’re feeling your best again though. Injuries you should have sustained for something like…that…would take quite a bit out of you.”

Alcina looked away from the woman gripped the corner of her blanket a bit tighter. “Yes…it did. I’m not sure how long it’ll be before I feel more like…myself. Or if I will again.”

“Well, fortunately for you, I have quite a few things that should help speed up the process. They won’t take care of everything, but…they will definitely make you feel more able and willing to do as you want again. I’d like to help you, if you’ll allow me.” Edel said, holding up one of the small black boxes for Alcina to see.

Alcina turned her head to look at the box for a moment, then looked back up at Edel. “I…I don’t want to be a bother.”

“Not at all.” Edel replied with a small smile. “I’ll not have any of my guests, no matter how short their stay, feel so drained. Physically or emotionally. And after all you’ve been through, I do believe that you deserve to feel better at the very least.” With that, Edel motioned for the goddess to follow back down the hallway towards the staircase. ”This should take only three steps. First, we get you cleaned up. A change of fresh, clean clothes, and a warm rejuvenating bath. Then, I set you up with some of my special teas and lotions. Then, you’ll need to get some rest. Good rest.”

Alcina started to follow after the woman, but stopped short and glanced back down the hall. Edel caught the hesitation and paused to look back at her. Alcina glanced back at the woman, then back down the hall. A puzzled look on her face. “You…” she began hesitantly. “You wouldn’t happen to have a guest that…” she continued slowly, then stopped and shook her head. “No. Nevermind.”

“Is everything alright?” Edel asked.

“I just….every now and then it’ll feel like…no, it’s nothing. I’m just feeling things. I doubt he’d be here.”
She replied, running a hand through her dark hair.

Edel smiled sympathetically and turned to motion her down the hall again. “Let’s just get you fixed up.” she said as she began walking down the hall again.

Alcina took another hesitant look down the hallway, then turned and followed after the woman.

Cat remained silent for a few moments after finishing her meal, staring thoughtfully down at her plate. "So..." she began carefully, "Your name is Michael. ....One of the women in the Exhibit told me. I won't use it or anything, but I wanted you to know that I knew."

Reaper visibly became a little uncomfortable at the mention of his name. He looked up at Cat for a moment, then looked away and shifted in his seat. "Yeah. It's....Edel will probably start using it now that I'm around. I've just...I haven't been called that, or called myself that in...years. Made up something else off the top of my head when I was actually asked for a name the last time."
He hadn't used that name since...well, since his father nearly beat him to death and left him at that laboratory. After that, he was given a new name.

She looked up at last, a faint, apologetic smile on her face. "Well, like I said, I don't have to use it." She paused. "Is there something besides Reaper that I can call you?"

Reaper opened his mouth to answer, but paused for a beat and closed it. Did she know what his last name was? If she did then this would sound pretty stupid. After a moment of thought he grinned a little and ran a hand through his hair. "Maybe it would be better if you used Michael. I don't think I'll mind it as much if it's coming from someone who hasn't upset me in the past. The other name I've been using is Blake Stone."

She blinked, then smiled. "Is that a play on your last name?" she asked curiously. It had to be, didn't it?

Reaper smiled and blushed ever so slightly. "Yeah, it is. When I was in a state that a real name was needed..someone asked me for my name. I wasn't really thinking and just told them Blackstone. I realized what I had said, and they luckily hadn't completely caught it. So I just...changed it a bit. The name kind of stuck."

Cat thought for a long moment. "Well, I like Michael, personally, but I'll call you by whatever name you're most comfortable with. No reason to turn this into a big production."

Reaper thought for a moment. "Well...there's really not a whole lot of people here that know me by my real name, or my fake name. Edel will probably use Michael. Rapture knows it, but it's hard to say what he'll call me. I...I don't mind if you use Michael." he replied.

Cat smiled. "Alright, Michael." She extended a hand to be shaken. "I'm Felicia. It's nice to formally make your acquaintance," she added, voice filled with mock seriousness.

Reaper smiled and extended his hand to take hers. "Felicia..." That was...pretty, actually. This was such a welcomed change of pace as well. He couldn't remember the last time he was in someone's company that...well, he actually enjoyed.
