Flashes of cameras and talking filled the air as a man pushed through the crowd. At the moment, he seemed invisible to the people around him. Pushing through the last little bit of people, Archie made his way into the ballroom. As he did, he stuffed a wallet into his pocket. He didn't know if there was anything useful in it, but it was easy pickings from a man who was watching the people coming in and taking pictures of them. To Archie, it was potentially his next meal. It took most of the money he had getting to this tournament, so he figured he would get some money even if he didn't win. Archie wasn't dressed in any fancy tux, he was dressed in his normal clothing. To him that was good enough formal wear.
As he made his way around the room, Archie found a table that wasn't empty all around but just had the right number of people. in the surrounding area. Popping out the chair, he sat down a looked at the silverware on the table. Nice material, seemed to top of the line. He ran his fingers across a piece. Nice feel to them. These could fetch a nice little price to the right person. Taking a quick look around, he placed a hand onto a fork and pushed it up into the sleeve of his trench coat. Shifting his hand a little bit, he made it so that the fork was sticking his glove so it wouldn't fall out. He would next do the same thing but with his other hand and the knife this time. Looking around again just to make sure he wouldn't have to book it out of there, Archie smiled a little. Given the right amount of time, this ball could be a gold mine. Thankfully most of his weapons were taken up to his room, so he had room to put stuff in. Shifting his weight, Archie jumped up out of the chair and headed for one of the closest food tables.

Okay, so the response to Esouna's disruption was the center-stage woman having a fit. With a midair half-twirl, the fairy faced the tan bombshell, giving her a hard glare. "...Yes. This is everyone's ball; I was making it less about you." After finishing her explanation in that fittingly masculine voice, Esouna lowered her altitude to be about twelve feet above the ground. "Keep dancing," she spoke off-handedly, already distracted by something else to look at--specifically, a random table of people.

The music abruptly stopping, and the shrill screams caused the ambitious spirits of Omi Barsait to take a swan-dive into utter dismay. It seemed a woman was yelling at the top of her lungs for some unknown reason. A woman scowling and thrusting a finger out towards some other figure unknown - this could only mean one thing.
"Great. So begins the drunk fights. Next, they'll be vomiting on each other and grinding their hips together, if we've any luck."
Not quite caring who heard, a last sip of the small red wine he had taken transitioned to more hunger for chicken. A fine bourbon, it was not to be ignored, most certainly of all by him. Still, Omi felt mild tension in the air, causing the hairs on his neck to p***k upward. With due luck it would ease, but if it did not..
Well, perhaps there were more entertaining ways to spend his time whilst awaiting his arranged date. A good deed done with malicious intentions was a good deed regardless, after all! Oh perhaps the [Artist] was getting anxious to strike something after so many months without personal contact, and yet..
..yet to ignore that lovely aroma was..

Flamefox Merimac As Seth was passing through the crowds he was looking at the faces of the different people that were there. One face kind of caught his eye as he walked through. Stopping, he kind of had to take a second look before moving on again. He was right. It was the lady that he lost to in the third round. He kept moving toward the food table. He didn't know if he really wanted to talk to her. He didn't hate her for beating him but he wanted to face her again to see if he could win. Another reason to avoid her was because he didn't remember her name. He wasn't sure if she would notice her, but hopefully it wasn't when he was looking at her. Unfortunately for him, his hopes would soon be dashed. The young blacksmith was swirling about the room in an almost lost and dazed fashion when something caught her eye. Amongst the vast room of frantically moving figures stood a familiar face, someone who gazed over to her for just a split second in a pause that was just long enough for her to catch. She almost let out a yelp of excitement before waving him over when he turned back to the line, almost unsure if he noticed her fully or not.
Well no sense in being wish-washy about it. Time for a greeting!
Jurie slipped her way through the crowd, feeling the excitement bristle across the back of her neck as she wriggled her way forward, gripping at the golden bracelets at her wrists every now and again subconsciously, stopping only to slide her rough fingertips through the strands of her short brunette hair in a nervous fit.
It wouldn't take long to catch up with the man.
"Mister Rowan?" She'd start with an uncertain tone, her eyes wavering between excitement and embarrassment from her ((as she saw it)) unusual approach to the man. "Is that you Mister Rowan? Its me! Jurie.... Jurie Arks. From last year. Don't you remember?"
Her expressions wore from gentle to soft and that tension wore a certain air that writhed with doubt. All in all it was a completely different tone from when they fought in the field not long ago. She was timid... almost weak at first glance. Hell... had he not fought her perhaps she might seeem like a completely different person all together.

Man, that certainly was a killjoy. Who did she think she is? Some sort of freakin' queen of the dance floor?
Since HoH, Yasuo had gained both a sense of confidence - and of hilarious stupidity. He had acquired an incredible amount of confidence in himself and his form after having come in such a close running for Heaven or Hell. It wasn't as if anybody had expected Shattered Steel to get so far into the competition, but the amount of money he received both from the pot and anonymous benefactors had boosted a once non-existent ego to heights of incredible magnitude. Still,
He'd yell aloud,
"Who the hell do you think you are, ruining a nice girls fun like that!? Was anyone else complaining?! I sure as hell didn't hear it!!"
Ok... maybe he was a little pissed about being interrupted as well. Still, it was to be expected from an action like this.

The Summer Fae gives Gaians an entire season, year after year, and she can't even get one night in the spotlight without a killjoy riding her a**? Talk about your classic party pooper.
Summer had just dawned on the horizon, so now Gaians were in Stella's arena. And they were in for at least three months of the whimsical, stubborn Fae-- better get to like it.
As Esouna became distracted, Stella turned towards the copycat Yasuo and gave him a shrug. Whatever the deal was, Stella just wanted to get back to the party. More music was striking up over the speakers, giving the ballroom back it's pulse of life.
"Don't blame me for stealing the spotlight, honey~," she said to Esouna as she went back to dancing, "It was ripe for the picking. But if you ever try to rain on my parade again, I can't guarantee that there won't be consequences."
The light was allowed to shine as the rest of the crowd joined in dance, giving rebirth to the speckled, celestial glow on the walls from Stella's dress. The Fae ignored Esouna should she retort, and became absorbed in the new tune that surged through the ballroom.
Truth be told, Stella liked to be surrounded by people in the dance floor. Not that she didn't like the solo attention, but being in the middle of the mosh made Stella feel right at home. She scanned the crowd as they got down around her, and she smiled. She spotted a certain chulo coming through the entrance of the ballroom and gave him a cute, little wink.
Thus, she continued her game of copycat with Yasuo, as she resumed shaking her hips and shimmying her shoulders. Her blue eyes centered on him, grinning mischievously.

Blame it on the fairy's complicated mentality, which arose from interacting with these foreign people and their ways. Instead of replying to the hostility of the dancer's companion, Esouna merely shook her head and floated away. Wow, it seemed that diverting the light was considered a way to completely ruin the dance...typical; if you weren't the very best, you were nothing, and that even applied to how much attention you received.
The fairy drifted away from the crowds, situating herself over a section of floor less dense with people. She thought about this...the Gaians were changing her; she was becoming more like them. Why was she in this thing again, if she made it to Top 10 previously? That should be enough. Esouna looked at her body...where did her femininity go? It all died and converted into muscle mass and scars.
This train of thought disconcerted her.

On the floor of Tokyo Or down in London town to go, go With the record selection And the mirror's reflection I'm dancing with myself
When there's no-one else in sight In the crowded lonely night Well I wait so long For my love vibration And I'm dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself Oh dancing with myself Well there's nothing to lose And there's nothing to prove I'll be dancing with myself
If I looked all over the world And there's every type of girl But your empty eyes Seem to pass me by Leave me dancing with myself
So let's sink another drink 'Cause it'll give me time to think If I had the chance I'd ask the world to dance And I'll be dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself Oh dancing with myself Well there's nothing to lose And there's nothing to prove I'll be dancing with myself

Kayami still hidden inside a room she could not identify had somehow calmed down quite a bit. Feeling ready she walked out very casually, she then thought about what happened to the tournament brackets. She turned to where Midus had been and had a look of disappointment come over her face. The Brackets hadn't been posted with her name on the list. Hmm??? Why hasn't my name been posted!!! She shouted in her head, while she was shouting in her head she quickly walked over to an empty space in the room and laid her back against the wall and sat down. Why? Why! How come I didn't make it!!! shaking her head in frustration. She then face-palmed herself and laid her head against her knee's. Lowering her head slowly she then slowly became very drowsy and closed her eyes for a while...

themightyjello "Oh. Poplars. I'm sorry, I just-" he slipped his hand off of Saphen's shoulder and took a half step back from the two of them, "did the two of you want to be alone? Yeah. Okay. I'm sure you don't need a third wheel ruining the mood and all."
--completely misinterpreted the situation. Saphen laughed so loudly as he playfully tilted his head at the lady now present in the bard's evil little game. "Oh no you are fine my dear friend really." Saphen managed to say between his nearly uncontrollable laughter as he looked at Robyn once more "Sweetheart," he emphasized "Please tell the boy he is no burden to our company...unless of course we DO need some...alone time."
What a terrible friend Saphen was...though one might counter that...friends are more prone to such pranks than most living creatures one might know. Of course...there was the possibility that this fair maiden might slap him across his stone face for teasing the paladin...and rightfully so. But there was an even more enticing point that she might play along... Now that was too good of a chance to pass up. Of course this wouldn't be the first time this little lady had lovingly played her part in the musician's tapestry of a story. Oh No! there was a time...during a certain tournament...that spoke of two places....one of good...and one of evil...where she...may...or may not have...interacted...with a woman...in such a way...that might make a man...remember...such an event...
But one could only hope that lightning does indeed strike twice... But lucky for Saphen...he was a dreamer and for dreamers, all things are possible.

themightyjello Robyn's flicking ears caught the boy's eye and drew his attention back to those he was standing beside; at least enough that he managed to catch a whiff of the awkward tension in the air and--
"Oh.
Robyn was about to comment that she didn't really know much of the competition, aside from those she had observed in HoH, but at Anson's comment, she blinked, looking at the boy with a confused look before her eyes widened and she started laughing. She was starting to like this boy. "Nah, kid, you're fine, trust me." She probably would have added a "Maybe later" with a wink at Saphen if the kid hadn't been so young. Not that he was too young to know about that kind of stuff, just that she didn't want to embarrass the poor guy any more than he already was. Saphen Saphen laughed so loudly as he playfully tilted his head at the lady now present in the bard's evil little game. "Oh no you are fine my dear friend really." Saphen managed to say between his nearly uncontrollable laughter as he looked at Robyn once more "Sweetheart," he emphasized "Please tell the boy he is no burden to our company...unless of course we DO need some...alone time."
And that had been the whole point of the omission of her comment. Yeah, she loved pranks, but she wasn't about to scar some poor kid. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, her tail whipping around front for a second to lightly "whap" Saphen on the arm. "Leave the poor kid alone, huh? Keep that up, there won't even be "with others" time." It was only after she said that that she realized how bad that could have sounded. She'd just meant that she would leave him alone there and go somewhere else in the ballroom. It was then that the music changed, and she swiveled, ears perked up. Now this was her kind of music. Her tail lashed to the beat, and she caught the figure who'd seemingly started this pleasant upturn. The corner of her mouth crept up in a smirk. Girl was hot, and she had attitude, too. Then some little fairy thing that she remembered from the press conference had to go and interrupt the show. Luckily the confrontation didn't last long, and the music started up again. Robyn was sorely tempted to go and dance while the "good" music was playing, sure they would get back to the jazzy and ballroomy (was that even a word?) stuff sooner rather than later. They always did at these types of shindigs. Idly she wondered where Rylen had gone, would have been fun to steal a dance with him. If he even could dance. He really didn't seem like the dancing type, after all.

KytanaTheThief "Leave the poor kid alone, huh? Keep that up, there won't even be "with others" time." Saphen gasped with somewhat mock pain as he was punished for his playful nature. "My apologies mi'lady. I was just teasing a former teammate. He may be young but don't let that fool you. He is as much of a man on the battlefield as anyone else in here." The bard said warmly as he turned to nod at Anson. Though it was at that moment he leaned in slightly to whisper in her ear "Trust me...he needs some light atmosphere after last years HoH..."
Saphen took a moment to ponder as he turned to her with a more serious tone "Do be careful during this tournament. I know you are no light weight but there are people amongst us who could care less about any rules or regulations, any form of honor, and only lust for blood and glory."Saphen placed a hand gently on her shoulder, gloved though it may be, it was warm enough for her to know he meant it. "Just promise me that much." if there was any chance one could tell the bard had a worried expression on his face this was it. The masked stared directly at her, and the uncharacterized solemness was a hint to such seriousness.

That's right it was Jurie.
"Ahh yes. That's right. Hey Jurie, I didn't recognize you in that dress. How have you been?" He laughed nervously knowing his reason for not recognizing her was a lie. He kept the smile on his face waiting to see what her reply would be.

[Not sure if I missed anyone's posts. If I did, PM me and I'll edit.]
Emerging from the bathroom, Rhoslyn's eye was caught by the familiar aura of Yasuo, his old team-mate. Naturally, he'd recognize the man anywhere, and Ross was quite glad to see him actually here. Making his way through the crowd with his own sparkling glamour going up more, he made it about halfway and then yelled out over the music,
"YAS! What's up, du-"
And then he stopped as he noticed the woman beside his friend, his face making a complete 180 from "happy as a cat in the cream" to "ALL OF MY RAGING ETERNAL HATE", which would probably come across as a surprise to anybody who knew the usually laid-back fey. The people who were near him could literally feel his anger biting at them like hundreds of ants on their skin, and backed the hell away, leaving a very sparkly and very angry Rhoslyn alone in a circle.
"Seelie."
He said it like one would normally say "c**t", and although his voice wasn't screamingy raging, it was as cold and sharp as steel.
