xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxнεямεs : : god of animal husbandry, roads, travel, hospitality, heralds, diplomacy, trade, thievery, language, writing, persuasion, cunning wiles, athletic contests, gymnasiums, astronomy, and astrology

He stood by a road boredly, in the form of a gangster with a cap covering his face and his back against the wall. Hermes held an apple that he tossed up and down as another gangster walked round the corner flipping a coin. After walking past Hermes, the boy had had his coin snatched from him and was looking around to see where it had fallen.
"Lost something?" Hermes snickered, trying to keep in character as a gangster.
"I think you should keep walking." The boy hurried away, needing no more persuasion. Then again, who would when you were a god of it?
In the boys hurry, he didn't look as a car screeched towards him. Hermes cursed and dissapeared only to reappear behind the gangster, he pulled him back to the pavement and the car flew past.

"Are you stupid?!" Hermes exclaimed angrily "You need to watch roads, damnit!"
The gangster stared at him like he'd just seen him.
"You- you saved my life!" he said in disbeleif "Thanks, man." Hermes scowled at him, stupid kids. They never watched the road! How many had died because they just couldn't be bothered to make sure a car wasn't about to kill them?
"This doesn't make us friends, you know! Get out of here and for crying out loud! Watch the roads."
"Hell yeah man, but you still have my coin." The guy tried him, mistaking Hermes to be a guy of 'Oh ok, since you nearly died' kind of guy.
"Ok then, here's your coin." He pulled it out and threw it into the road where cars instantly flattened it. After a moments silence, the gangster put his hood up.
"Thanks, man. See ya round." He told him before walking off on the pavement.

Hermes lay back on the wall and finished his apple, making sure no other dipstick killed himself with lack of attention. Kids are always told to watch the roads, aren't they? So why don't they do as they're told!? Stupid kids. Not all of them are though, his kids are smart... ok, smart-ish. They're not stupid enough to die on a road. Hermes let his mind wonder as he watched the cars.
He always had himself watching the roads where people got killed the most, where people had either a lack of attention or a mad driver. Like that guy. Speeding way too much, narrowly missing that old granny there. Hermes doing, actually.
He zipped out a walkie talky and rappidly spoke into it, speaking to the police. 10 minutes later, a police car ripped through the cars, dogging them amazingly. Hermes doing, actually.
He watched them go and smiled at his work. Bored for the day, he dissapeared.
