Chandra tried as hard as she could to catch him, and knew that the only reason she had was because he had slowed down for her. Panting heavily she came to a stop beside him and beamed at him happily as she chirped, "I guess its a draw? Though you went easy on me!" It was only then she turned to see her father, due to living in a reasonably sized herd she was quite used to others being around her. "Daddy?" She said with a tilt of her head a beaming smile. ---------------------------------- Maion watched his daughter playing with the young colt, and although he was still a little nervous about her getting so close to a boy he couldn't deny her the joy of play or stop her from enjoying life. The fact was that he wanted all of his children to be happy, and although it killed him at the idea of them growing old enough to take mates of their own and have children he wanted that for them. He knew first hand what the love of a mate could do, Sengdroma was the opposite to everything he had ever looked for in a mate but he wouldn't change anything about her for the world. He loved her fierce side as much as her gentle side, of course that wouldn't mean he was about to admit that she could defend herself -that was his job. "Nice of you both to join me," he said with a soft smile and a raised eyebrow, he loved 'playing' with them. "Part two.... practising. So come on." And with that he turned and lead them to a different area beside the lake. There where still several rocks to aid with them jumping and gathering a breeze below their feathers but there was the disadvantage that if they failed to fly they would likely end up wet. At least they would have an incentive, he chuckled to himself.

Sonnet following along with Chan, having nodded and smiled when she said it was a draw, not minding, in fact he chuckled a little when she accused him of going easy on her. It hadn't been intentional but he had wanted to be by her side instead of ahead so he had slowed down to her pace. Trailing along beside Chan, obediantley following Maion wondering what practice he would have them doing.

Chandra nipped at Sonnets mane playfully, "Why are you being so quiet?" She asked, a little concerned about her friend. Had he hurt himself? Maybe that was why he had slowed? Her heart plummeted a little at the thought simply because she had hoped he had slowed for her. Not that she could admit it. As they arrived to their 'new' training ground Chandra gasped. "Oh no...." her ears flopped onto her head, "...I am so going to end up wet." The water here was not very deep so unless she completely stumbled it was likely she would only get her ankles wet. Of course she had tried to fly here before and her wings still remembered the pain as she crumbled and crashed full force and head first. She sighed softly and just waited. ----------------------------------- Maion watched his daughters reaction, "Yeah you guessed it Chan." He knew she didn't like it here but at the same time he also knew she had to try again or she would always feel this way about this spot... maybe, just maybe, being here with Sonnet would change things for her. "The idea," he started, "Is to give you an incentive to fly from the rocks towards the lake and then try to get back to shore. You are allowed to either fly straight across the lake or turn around straight away and come back here. Sound ok?" He asked with a slight grin on his face. Part of him wanted to see how wet they would get trying.

Sonnet gibing Chan's mane a small n** and tug, trying to cheer her on like she so often did with him. Smiling at her before looking out over the lake, not sure if going right across was easyer or the turning, not having really done either with any success before, the distance looked a long way, and the turning... Yeah the turning was too new to him. Frowning a little as he goes over the options in his head.

Maion watched his two students, "Yeah... its not easy." He could tell there where both thinking about it a lot. They had learnt how to change their feathers, they had learnt how to jump and glide, but some things Maion really couldn't teach them... they just had to do it on their own. He wished he could show them on their own wings for the first few tries but since he couldn't he would simply give them the opportunity to try themselves. "So..." he started as he turned to look out at the beautiful lake that meant so much to him, "would you like me to stay and watch?" Since it was 'practise' more than a lesson he didn't mind. If he stayed he would offer them advice when he could, if he didn't he suspected they may actually take more risks. No one to watch or judge them. Flying wasn't easy, but when they finally managed it he was sure they would find it the most natural thing in the world. -------------------------------- Chandra cheered up a lot at Sonnets imitating of her habit of pulling on his mane, she appreciated the effort and the meaning. "Thanks." She whispered to him before listening to her father, she didn't mind though part of her felt she may try more without him, yet if he was there at least he could try and save her? Turning to Sonnet and smiling, "What do you think?"

Shifting his feet a little as he looked at Chan, murmering softly. "I usually practice alone..." Looking back at the lake, seeing the sense in practcing here, wet was better than hurt, though he had never crashed into the water before, he had no idea what that would be like.

"Oh..." Chandra said and lowered her ears once more, "Well.... if you want then I will let you practise first and come back later then?" Since she lived here and didn't have to travel home before dark as he did it made sence to offer the spot to him first. ------------------------- Maion watched them and decided that he was no longer needed. "Either way. Lesson tomorrow. Bright and early" He said before walking away, when he was sure they where more consumed with each other he stopped and watched them for a moment. Chandra seemed to like this young colt.... alot.

Sonnet shaking his head allot. "No, please stay, I've never flown over water before." Feeling a little chicken to be totally alone, giving Chan a shy smile. "Besides I feel better when your around..." Knowing she wasn't going to tease him.

Chandra tilted her head and watched him, a small smile appearing as well as a blush that she was thankful didn't show well. "Ok." She looked at the lake again, "Its a good job water softens the blow... but I didn't really plan on getting wet today." She playfully pouted as she slowly walked towards the river. "So.... how do we do this?"

Walking to the edge of the water and flicking it with the tip of his hoof. "Very carefully?" Looking round again. "I suppose it would be better to turn than go all the way over, Turning is harder so we need more practice at it." Smiling at her.

"Hmmmm..... yeah." She sighed softly and joined him at the edge of the water before putting her hoof into it. "Seems cold....." She shivered a little and then looked out over the lake, "yeah definatly need to turn round, how do we practise that without getting wet?"

Sonnet shook his head not toally sure, but an idea did occur to him. "You let me go first, then if I 'and in the water you can go and maybe if you land in the water you will land on me instead?" It sounded silly but he was trying to be chivulrous.

She giggled softly, and then looked at the water again, "I would probably squish you if we did that!" She looked at him and smiled softly before taking a deep breath kissing him on the cheek, "for luck" she chirped as she ran towards the rocks, jumped up on to the rocks softly and then spread her wings as she took one long look at the lake before turning to Sonnet once more and smiling. Then she turned back to the water and moved her wings as she tried to remember all the positions for her wings. One. Two. Three. She jumped. For a moment her wings caught the breeze and she appeared to be flying. She tried to turn and as soon as she did her wings on her left side collaspe with her and she came crashing down into the water. She splashed and felt her ankle give a little under her. Her wings on her left where now soaked so as she made her way back to Sonnets side she shook her feathers in an effort to dry them out. "Oops." She said looking a little embarassed.

Sonnet looked more concerned than anything else, looking her over, his eyes on her ankle. "Are you ok?" Wanting her to be ok, offering her a faint smile. "Rest here and dry off in the sun, and lets see if I end up swimming too." Grinning and going over to the rocks, flapping his wings till he got up into the air, trying to fly/run in the air making a slow progress forwards before he worked his wings out, ending up going forwards much faster suddenly. Trying to turn and ending up landing in the middle of the bit of water with a splash after a spiral down, having landed on his rear covered in muddy splashes as he wades out laughing.

Chandra did as ordered and watched him as he to ended up in the water also. Unlike Chandra he seemed to be laughing as he approached, it instantly made her smile as she limped up to her feet and started towards him. "Ah well, I guess we should try again."
