Nico blinked, his voice? Whose voice? Though, she simply nodded and remained with him, remaining quiet so he could enjoy the fact he remembered something. Ah.... when he said present, it made sense. Probably parents. So he remembered his parents then, and the voice meant his father. Or at least, she assumed. It was always best not to assume, but ah well.

When he looked up to her, she relaxed more, glad to see him back. "You're welcome." She murmured, tilting her head slightly as she listened to him, her expression softening with a smile. "So you know how he sounds now. That is so awesome, I'm happy for you. I'm sure things will start coming back steadily considering." It sounded cheesy, but it was the truth. She was glad that he remembered something from his past. Amnesia could be a very hard thing to overcome.

Jane smiled. He was glad of that fact, as long as they weren't all as hard hitting as this one. "Hopefully they won't hit me so hard." He joked, his gentle laugh returning. "But it IS good to know his voice. If I know just that, I might be able to learn more about him." His eyes were obviously sparkling in the excitement in the moment. If he could at least know his last name, or his father- that would be a miracle, awesome.

Nico chuckled at that, patting him on the shoulders as she retracted her hands and sat back against the wall. "Haha, yeah. That'd be good." She smirked, nodding once as she glanced to someone that walked past. "Definitely. If only voice recognition could somehow find it's way to your memory. Then it would make it easy." She smirked a little, the technology not quite there yet. Hell, maybe it would never be there. Who knew?

Glancing up, she tilted her head and touched a finger to the ear piece that was basically a phone, sighing lightly. "Seems like they want me to analyze some info with them upstairs. I'll talk to you later Jane, ok? Get some rest, you did good today." She smiled and got up, going into her room to grab some slippers, a hoodie tied around her waist since she knew it sometimes got cold. Waving a farewell to him, she popped a piece of gum in her mouth, chewing as she bounded up the stairs.

Arriving, she waved to some people there, her mind drifting to darker places against her will. Past huh? She lowered her eyes as voices flickered past in her memory, grimacing as she flopped down at one of the terminals. Speaking with Gladys, she started processing info, helping them reorganize some things and crack others. It wasn't like she was any of the scientists, and so she didn't really have to worry about glancing over things in the files.

User ImageWith everyone out doing their own things, Amaya sighed, and went off to the hot springs. While it was a secret base that was hidden from Dreamer's Industries, the base still had their own little luxuries.

She got to the hot springs and looked about to make sure no one else was there before stripping off her clothes. As she stepped in, Amaya's hair moved to reveal a long, nasty scar across her back. It was from when she lost her siblings, and she hated to think about it.

After the girl had slipped into the water, she sunk in enough to let the water rise up to her mouth. With her eyes closed, Amaya let the steam rise around her as she just took notice of the energies and tried to relax.

Jane smiled happily, nodding as Nico walked off. He stood back up, bowing to her before walking back to his room and laying down. Once on his bed, he took a nap, his eyes shutting so that he could sleep.

After making it out of the destroyed building and making sure the girl he was carrying was alright, Gabriel took his time going back to the base. He had been completely disturbed by the voice in the building. Who WAS that guy? he thought, as he slowly made his way on the long path home. What could he have meant? These and a million other questions were running through his mind as he entered the base and went back to his room.

Nobody was in the hallway or in his room when Gabriel had made it back. It didn't surprise him. Plus he was too tired and overwhelmed to care. He laid back on his bunk, staring at the ceiling he had just become familiar with not too long ago. The room was completely silent, save for the florescent lights buzzing in the background. He would have to find Nico soon; she seemed pretty distraught during the mission. But for now, he rested. His eyes slowly closed, and the white ceiling and buzzing lights slowly dissolved away.

While most others were starting to switch shifts and get some rest, Nico remained decrypting files. She had her glasses on, the contact case resting on her desk nearby along with a Boston Cream donut and some beef jerky. Brushing her bangs back for a moment, she sighed heavily while her fingers moved rapidly across the keyboard, lines of code breaking down in front of her. Feeling a hand on her shoulder, she didn't look away from her work, at least appearing somewhat normal besides the bandages she had put around her one hand. "What is it Rob?"

"You should probably think about sleep hun. You've been at it for, I dunno, five hours at least." Rob murmured, his biting comments gone for the moment. He was honestly a little worried about her. She never voluntarily did this much work.

"I appreciate the rare show of concern Rob, but I'm not tired. I'd rather not sleep anyways. Why don't you go rest though? I'm going to be at this for the rest of the night." She spoke, bidding him good night once he agreed and then left. Now that she alone at her station again, she sighed and leaned back in her chair, rubbing her eyes. She could still see that face in her mind, frowning as she straightened up and took a bite of her donut. Mindful of the cream, she soon sped off strengthening the firewalls and adding some traps just in case someone tried to hack their system. At one point someone offered to grab coffee for her, and she politely refused, only taking some flavored water instead. No, there was no need for caffeine for her this night.

In his dreams, Gabriel saw darkness. No, now he was running, running through the endless back. Racing, panting, sprinting, jumping. While he ran, he heard voices. They started out as whispers, then grew to shouts. Jane, Nico, Amaya, all talking, shouting, pleading, crying about things Gabriel didn't understand. Then he saw faces. Nico's face, turned sideways towards him, tears falling down her cheek. Jane glaring at him, furious, shouting words that were muffled and without distinction. Amaya whispering close to him. Then suddenly, a bright light. He was in a room, it felt familiar. He could feel cold hardwood floors beneath his warm feet. He could see a sun setting slowly in a large window on his right. Cicadas sang slowly in the background. In front of him was a doorway with a man standing in it. He couldn't see his face, but he felt the man's eyes staring at him, and for a time Gabriel stared back. Then, the man slowly turned from him, turned to walk out of the doorway. For some reason, Gabriel didn't want the man to leave. He reached out in an effort to keep him with him just for a while....

The doorway disappeared, along with the man. The sun blackened and the floors disolved. Gabriel was falling, back into the darkness, back into the unknown, and there was nothing he could do.

Gabriel woke up panting and sweating. He was still staring up at the blank white ceiling. What was that all about?? he thought, as he reached over to the nightstand to take a long drink of water. He laid back on the bed again, trying to see the dream in his head again. A man...? Voices? A face....? He sat for a long while, trying to piece together the remnants of thought. Finally resigning from the mystery, he looked over at the empty cot opposite him. Nico hadn't come back yet. He looked at the clock on the nightstand. It had been four hours since he had gotten back. Gabriel slowly got up, changed into a fresh outfit of the same type, and went out into the facility.

Kitchen first. He went in to find it empty. He grabbed an apple from the fruits basket and, taking large bites from it as he walked, continued his search. The training room was equally deserted. He walked down hallway after hallway, looking Nico particularly, or anyone else he knew. Finally, he remembered the computer room. Finished with his apple he shot it into a garbage can and walked swiftly towards his destination.

The computer room was completely dark, save the soft glow from the LCD monitors. The scene was completely different from the one he had saw earlier. The few people that were there chose to work in cold silence, tapping frantically at their keyboards. He walked to Nico's station. Sure enough, there she was, adding her own contribution to the symphony of tikking and takking around her. She hadn't noticed him walk in.

"Hey Nico," Gabriel said, soft enough not to break the silence of the room but loud enough to make sure that she had heard him. "What're you up to?"

Breaking down a firewall, she nabbed some useful documents and reprogrammed some security drones while she was at it, appearing rather bored. Her donut was long finished, now just munching on some beef jerky. Pushing her glasses back up further on her nose, she sighed heavily and stretched out her fingers, sending off the files to a different department since they had people up there who could decrypt files.

Leaning back in her chair for the moment, she lifted her glasses up and rubbed her eyes again, starting to get a slight headache from staring at the screen for so long. Popping open some excedrin from her pocket, she swallowed them with the water that was sitting at her desk, about to start typing when she sensed someones approach.

She looked up when Gabriel spoke, blinking twice since where he was standing wasn't as bright as the screen. "Hey Gabriel." She murmured, allowing her fingers a longer break than she initially intended. "Oh the usual, breaking down code, hacking systems, strengthening our own firewall amidst adding traps of my own should someone pop in... thats all. Couldn't sleep?" She asked with a small tilt of her head, adjusting her headband to keep more hair from her eyes.

Grabbing a rolling chair in the corner, Gabriel sat down next to her console. "Yeah, something like that," he said, staring off into the corner. He sat for a long moment in silence. "So, I've been meaning to ask you, where and when did you learn to work with computers? Is it something we all have to learn for the job, or something you picked up on your own?"

Nico turned in her chair, murmuring a few words to Gladys who paused what she was doing and shut down the computer for the moment. No sense in letting it overheat or something. He was oddly quiet, her brows furrowing a little. She couldn't blame him, she couldn't sleep either.

Blinking at the sudden question, she hid some discomfort behind a slight laugh, shaking her head. "Don't worry, you don't have to learn it if you don't want to. I mean, some of the people here are willing to teach you so you can help more, but it's certainly not a requirement. No I'm uh... I'm a special case so they say." She murmured, resting her elbows on her knee's, clasping her hands.

"I already knew how to hack computers before I came here. It's actually how they found me. Since my powers aren't as noticeable as others, I was off the radar for a while there. I accidentally passed through one of their systems for a job I was doing for money, and yeah. Here I am. I couldn't tell you how I started dealing with computers, it just... happened." Sipping her water, she glanced to her computer and sighed lightly, adjusting her glasses. "Always been good with them, got better with some classes from school. And then I ran away after s**t happened at home. Lived on my own, and so used what I could to survive in a city where you can't trust anyone. Whole bad guy thing." Leaning back in her chair, her dark eyes had found their way to him again, shrugging her shoulders a little.

Gabriel followed suit by leaning back in his chair as well, suddenly noticing the comfort of the chair. He could probably fall asleep in the room if he really wanted to.

"That's really cool!" he said with a smile, looking back at Nico. Her dark eyes stared back at him softly in the darkness. "I never really helped anyone with my abilities.. Hell, I learned martial arts as a hobby!..." He looked towards the desk and noticed a rollerball pen. Lifting his fingers, he made it levitate. "I discovered my OTHER power by accident. I was scared to use them in public. I secretly honed them at night, picking up more and more objects, seeing how far i could go... Twiddling his fingers, he pulled the cap off of the pen, unscrewed the head, pulled the spring and the top mechanism apart and made them all circle around in front of him. "I guess the benefit of working here is that they want you to perfect your talents for them, huh? He put the pen back together in midair and, taking it with his hand, leaned forward and placed it behind Nico's right ear. He stood close to her, staring back at her for another moment. She has brown eyes...

Noticing how long he had been standing, Gabriel quickly slid back into his seat, clearing his throat awkwardly. "So we hit 'em hard today, huh?"

To his reaction, she couldn't help but chuckle, rather relieved to be honest. So many reacted poorly or pushed too far with their questions. Tilting her head a little, she listened to him, a small smirk spreading on her lips. Her eyes followed the movement of the pen, crossing her legs, her headache now starting to fade. She nodded, "Yep. We don't have to worry about getting too crazy. Better not to...." She hadn't drifted off because of implications of them losing control. No, it was a more simple reason. He was really close, staring into his eyes, a blush starting to spread across her cheeks. His weren't just grey, they were a mix between that of a cloud and that of silver....

Clearing her throat as well, it made her giggle they had done the same thing, her bangs at least able to sort of cover part of her features. "Oh definitely. Though they have other research labs, that was certainly their main one. Least according to reports." She spoke, a smile spreading across her lips again.

Gabriel's face suddenly felt really hot. Suddenly, the screensaver on the monitor next to him was of particular interest. "O-Ooh, that's, uh, really deep," he said. "It's hard to imagine crashing more bases like that. I crashed open a room with about a dozen tests subject in them. I'm pretty sure they all got out though. He suddenly saw the little again, crying, crouched in the corner of that dark, musty room. "I have to save as many as I can. I'll never forgive myself if I don't...."

Nico noticed how he suddenly found her computer very interesting, a knowing sort of smirk upon her lips but she disguised it very well before he turned back. It ended up fading anyways as she saw that face.... God that face.... Her index finger twitched, lowering her eyes. "Hey, Gabriel...." She started, thinking carefully how to phrase her question. "What would you have done if they stole away your sister, ended up killing her, only to find they began to clone her for some reason or another? What would you do with the clones?" She asked softly, closing her eyes for a brief moment to banish away that image. "Hypothetically speaking of course." She added, raising her eyes to look at him. She appeared calm, but in truth she was so very tortured.
