"I watch anime, and/or read manga." yes, but it's not a genre either. It's another media...
"Spelling should be totally phonetic and obvious." Well, I think English phonetics are all but obvious themselves... as are Spanish, and ... you get it?
"My ear is sensitive to different sounds and tones." WEll, my EAR is... confused

I guess that makes some sense to me... except the Chinese part. If I wouldn't learn Japanese, why would I learn Chinese? But then, Chinese isn't nearly as bouncy and annoying-sounding as Japanese... plus they can actually distinguish between the L and R sounds.
Shame there are virtually no Germanic languages besides English listed. I know what I'd get.
