With a quiet sigh, Batman pushed him back so that he was leaning against the door, instead. The Dark Knight hadn't realized that he'd even been considering the insane clown's question, so it came as a surprise when he muttered, "It was just one of those nights." Shaking his head sharply, as though doing so would clear it of the memories of that particular incident, he accelerated.

They drove the rest of the way to Arkham in thoughtful--or, in Joker's case, unconscious-- silence.

Upon arriving at the supposedly secure wing of the facility, where only the hardcore psychotics were housed, Batman slowed. Five burly orderlies were waiting by the doors, backed up by about three or four armed security guards. They had Joker's restraints ready. And next to them... "Jim. ... Great." This he didn't need.

Coming to a complete stop, he put the car in park and slid the top back. "Commissioner," he said, his voice even as he got out of the car and walked over to his old friend. Even as he did, he kept a close eye on the orderlies who were currently bundling the unconscious Joker out of the car and into his restraints.

Jim Gordon apparently wasn't in the mood for pleasentries. "Do you want to tell me what the hell is going on?" he snapped. Batman raised an eyebrow. "Don't give me that. Half of my city is missing. The entire residential district has vanished into thin air, and the financial district has been replaced by New York City's financial district."

The Bat paused. "I'm working on it." Batman-speak for 'I don't have a goddamn clue', and they both knew it.

"Well you'd better hurry it up," Gordon said, shaking his head, "We're one problem away from rioting in the streets."

At this point, Joker went into a REM cycle, occasionally commenting out loud about whatever it was that psychotic killer clowns dream about. "Careful, that doughnut's a bomb, hehe..."

// Not much as far as your character goes. Terragon and the cops are on their way downtown. Gossamer and Rosie are in their home. Sapphire, Alex, and her children are in their apartment. Batman just took Joker to Arkham. Vice and Reaper are on the rooftops. Zira and Phantom Stranger just left. Cupid and the others are still on the same rooftop. //

//If that's where you want him to be. No one's with your character right now anyway. Couple people have been RPing with themselves a bit to progress their plots. You could probably say a few hours have passed if you wanted. //

A Jason woke up to the smell of fire. He looked around to see massive destruction in a hospital looking building, or at least what seemed to be a hospital. He finally realized it, Rampager was out."What the heck did you do, how long have I been out?!?!?!"He asked frantically in his shared mind.

Rampager snapped his neck just as a giant robot jumped through the floor below."Ask metal head over here, started attacking the hospital and you were out cold so I took over for a while. It's been at least a couple of hours."He mentally replied before teleporting behind the behemoth and grabbing it's head."Since your just a bucket of bolts, there's no reason to hold back!!!!"He yelled, ripping his head from it's mechanical shoulders and bashing the body with the severed cranium. When he stopped the robot was a flattened metal pancake, sparks flying from it every so often.

Rampager dropped the robot's head and transformed back into Jason. He sighed and looked for some clothing.

Crystal pondered the idea of what the cat had said and decided to take a peak for herself at what was going on.

Crystal was not in the least disturbed by the other three on the roof, being the result of a genetic experiment and having been living in Gotham on and off for quite a wile now, things like this had stopped effecting her in such a way.

"A show hugh? Interesting if I may say so myself. What, pray-tell, is the show about?" Crystal looked back to the others, curious more than anything else now.

The cat beamed. He loved it when people didn't immediately dismiss him as speaking nonsense. Then again, he hadn't had a rather heated argument with some nonexistent being that took up residence at random places around him yet. So he hadn't had a reason to come off as too crazy yet.
"It's a drama." he purred. "Romance, heartache, suspense, action flick, dramatic irony, tragedy..." he began, the smile growing on his face. "Just about anything we think the actors would be able to play the part of. I'm afraid you might not be able to see the show from here, we have incredible optic abilities after all."

After finally getting clothed, Jason discarded the hospital gown and tried to manuever through the wreckage that he and the random robot created. He was oblivious to the camera which watched him through the broken machine's optics before finally shutting down."Man you guys really did a number on the place while I was out."He told his counterpart.

"Shut up, your alive aren't you? That damn toaster wouldn't sit still long enough for me to smash him."He rudely explained to his confused half.

Crystal's right ear flopped to the side as she wiggled her nose Bewitched style. "Well I like the idea of action and tragedy... But drama is SO overrated."

She smiled at the cat before hearing that she can't see it herself right where they were and she tilts her head to the side. "Well then where is it?" Crystal hadn't been so curious in years, it felt good to actually feel like she did in the old days.

The cat smiled a bit, then exploded in a cloud of black smoke. A second later, the same black cloud erupted behind Crystal. The black cat purred as he moved from her right shoulder to her left. "Well..." he began, "...there's a bit going on over there in Arkham." he said as he pointed towards one part of the city. Of course you couldn't see Arkham from where they were...at least she couldn't. "There's something going on down there, in an appartment over there, the hospital there, and an apartment over there in the Big Apple." he continued, pointing to where each location should be from where they were. "There are also a few things active over there and there..." he said, pointing towards the places Arachnis and the two villains were on the rooftop. "But...nothing real interesting or plot oriented happening with them at the moment, so their presence is being ignored for the time being. Oh, they WILL be interesting eventually, but....not so much right now."

"Cupid...""
Amora said quietly.

Cupid nodded, and raised his bow towards the apartment Sapphire was residing in. Whatever Amora was waiting for, apparently it had happened, so now he had to do his part.
Again, his eyes changed as he took aim, the arrow faded as he pulled back as hard as he could, and with a 'thunk', the arrow was apparently gone.

Crystal gasped a bit when the cat suddenly 'exploded' into smoke and then looked back as he appeared behind her and she smiled. She watched him at her shoulders and kept her ears on him when she couldn't actually see him. "Interesting. I can kind of assume whats going on at Arkham... Seeming I frequent there often."

She thought of the many villains she's had to take to that godless, black hole of a place. She shivered for a moment, remembering the only time she went beyond the guard station before the cells. "That place disturbs me severely."

The cat shrugged. "Eh, Joker was simply dropped off. Nothing really exciting. Batman's confused, which is entertaining itself considering how often that happens to him." he said. He glanced over at Cupid a moment when he heard another 'thunk'. The bow was up, but there was no arrow of any kind. Ah, well. He'd see just what kind it as and who it was aimed at later on. Once someone typed it all up anyway...
"But, anyway. Joker's out, just got dropped off, Batman left. Nothing too interesting. Though it probably will get interesting not too long from now. It's not like that place has ever been able to keep him, especially when he has a goal in mind. Though if you say you've been there a lot, I'm sure you know that already though."

It was a dream. The way the hallway lined with doors seemed to stretch down into a seemingly endless void of darkness…it had to be a dream. But the main audience of the show wasn’t at any point to really realize that. The witch simply kept walking down the endless hall, looking curiously at the doors as she passed and calling out for her precious creation every now and then.
”Rosie?” Gossamer called out.
The only reply was the echo of her own voice from down the hall. She called out for her little girl again.
This time the reply she received was a sudden sharp pain in her chest, and the thunderous burst that came from the doors as they all flew open simultaneously. She stood there a moment, staring out at the open doors. Laughter caught her ear from a door next to her. She’d never heard the laugh before…but something about the voice said that she should know the one who made it. Hesitantly, she started towards the door. Once she reached it, she stood as still as could be and stared inside.
A woman in a rather expensive looking silk robe sat in a rocking chair next to a equally expensive looking crib. An infant was cradled in her arms as she gently rocked back and forth with it, smiling and giving the child her utmost attention.
”Oh yes, my sweet little angel. Tomorrow we take you out for a new dress for your pictures. Mommy’s going to spend all day with you. I’ll make sure you never have a care in the world. Not one. I’m going to make sure you have everything you’ll ever need. The nanny’s will have to watch you while Mommy’s at work, but I’ll be straight home to spend time with you, my little angel. And it won’t be for long, Julie. Mommy’s making sure we turn one of the offices at work into a nursery for you. Then you won’t have to stay here when Mommy and Daddy are at work.”
Gossamer stared in at the blonde haired woman with a mix of disbelief and rage on her face. The woman who was supposed to be her mother…the woman who left her with the nannies and servants most of her life, then practically ignored her existence when she was older.
When she looked down at the child in the woman’s arms, it softened to something that was more like guilt. The pain in her chest grew and she turned away from the room completely.
Another voice caught her attention, a male this time. She moved away from the nursery and moved towards the other voice. This time she stood outside the doors of an office. A police station or some other type of law enforcement building. There were a few men standing around a desk talking. One of which she instantly recognized as her father.
”I’m telling you, I am seriously going to adopt you! I’ve never seen anyone do their job as impressively as you do.”

”Ah come on. What about that daughter of yours? I hear if she keeps it up, she’ll be on the same authorities level as you.” the younger man said.

The father made a face and shook his head a bit. ”Ah, I’m proud of her, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve always wanted a son. Janet’s just not…it’s not what I wanted. She made Evelyn happy, but after she decided to do all this, Evelyn’s downright livid. We’re trying for another one. Bound to make at least one of us happy.”

The door suddenly slammed shut hard enough that it nearly cracked the frame. Gossamer snarled something under her breath and continued down the hallway. She passed by a door and took a quick glance as she passed by. Her father and a dark haired woman were standing dangerously close to each other. Immediately she slammed that door shut as well.
She continued slamming the doors shut as she passed by them, the pain in her heart growing the further she went. On the last door that was open, she grabbed it to slam it shut, but had to stop and stare inside.

The young officer that her father had been talking to sat at a desk, doing a bit of paperwork. Another man in a crème colored suit and neatly cut blonde hair walked up and stopped at his desk. The officer looked up at him and smile. ”Back so soon?”

”With the wonderful service that’s provided around here, paying bail for my ‘workers’ was nothing. And as promised, I’m obligated to give them their perk since they were caught”

”This group wants to go to a ‘gentleman’s club’ as well, don’t they?”

The other man grinned and shrugged. ”What can I say, they just did quite a bit of hard time. Can’t blame them, really. We’re heading down to L.A.”

”Oh, you’re going to that club? Count me in. Just let me cut out early and take tomorrow off. What excuse did you give your girl this time?”

”Business trip.” he replied as he rolled his eyes. ”I’ve been doing it quite often lately. Dancers are worth my time far more than that shy little ****. She still won’t let me touch her. Finally managed to get a kiss out of her a week or two ago. If I didn’t need to make sure all the paperwork was done and ready, I’d seriously consider screwing her over now just so I can move onto someone else.”

”Speaking of which, what do you plan on doing with the kid once you get your new mansion?”

”I don’t know. Suppose I could adopt her. Train her until she’s old enough to really be of any use.”

The room exploded.

Gossamer stood in the doorway staring at the demolished remains of the room with a dangerous rage frozen on her face. The fists that shook at her sides crackled and sparked with colored energy. The room, what was left of it, exploded again. And again. And again. And again.
When she finally felt she had the ability to move again, Gossamer drew a shaky breath, and marched down the hallway.
She had reached the end of it with that last door, but a new hallway somehow managed to make itself while she was distracted. She didn’t notice, and she didn’t care. Voices rang out from other open doors, but she didn’t bother stopping for any of them. There weren’t many she recognized, but she knew who most of them had to be. All of them claimed to ‘care’ for her, and in the next breath talk about what all use they could get out of her. All attempted lovers, all men that simply wanted to use her, all no longer among the living.

”ROSIE!” she shouted, angry and trying to ignore the pain she felt in her chest.

She finally reached the end of the hallway and came to a room with nothing but a large window with a nice view of a playground outside. She stood in the middle of the room and looked at the window for a long moment. She began to call out for Rosie again, but her words were cut short by a deafening ‘THUMP’ that seemed to come from directly behind her.
She turned, but found nothing but the hallway behind her. The minute she realized that there was a second level above the hallway, with a small balcony that hovered over the room she was in, she froze. She didn’t have to look at the floor now to know what that sound was. That horrible sound.
Unwillingly, she tilted her head down and glanced at the floor. The white carpet was stained in blood, and there was a slight impression in it, like something had been lying on it for a while.

The pain in her chest grew. Worse enough that she had to bring a hand up to clutch under her collar bone.
Another noise caught her attention, and she turned back towards the large window.
Rosie was outside playing on the swing set. She was laughing, and completely oblivious that she wasn’t alone outside. Rosie couldn’t see it, but as high up as Gossamer was, she could see perfectly the danger the young girl was in. Someone was in the bushes close to the swings, pointing something shiny at the young girl.
Gossamer felt her heart stop for a brief moment, then did everything she could to try and get the girls attention. She couldn’t break the window, and her magic wasn’t working for some reason. To make it worse, Rosie didn’t even seem to hear her, let alone see her.
Laughter began to rise up from down the hallway, but Gossamer didn’t hear it. She just screamed, trying to get Rosie’s attention.
The young girl finally looked up, but all too late. A bang rang out, her eyes widened, her grip on the swing loosened, and she fell off of the swing and landed onto the grass in a lifeless heap.
Gossamer stopped screaming and pounding on the window and just stood there…staring down at her little girl. Then something jerked her attention away yet again. Someone behind her grabbed her and yanked her back. The next moment she felt something sharp slice through her spine and she lost all feeling from her arms down. She hit the ground, finally heard the laughing, then someone’s shadow spread over her.
