I'm talking about it with a friend atm, so I just thought I'd point out that I'm not leaving you guys high and dry here - definitely not in these early stages. There are hints in the text which can rule out all except the "best" option.
I suggest that everyone pay close attention to the last couple of lines in particular during this first scenario. Interpret them correctly and you'll obtain the best possible outcome for the scenario.
It will get harder as we go on ;3 I also suggest you don't use those Hint Tokens yet.
*shuts up* I've helped y'all enough! Tutorial on how to play CYOA games is over!

Maborofel I thank the dice gods for all they have given me! *worships* I'm thinking 'talk w/ cressa still around'...because if I'm thinking correctly, it'll get them out and away the fastest, in typical Cressa 'we don't have time to talk, we're leaving' fashion ...what do you guys think? (hehehe, third time's the charm) well if you look at cressa's behavior, I think she'd rather kill the girl then try to talk. I think that the fastest and safeest way would be to have jessie negotiate. she WAS a student of his after all. but that's just what I think.

Thanks to Lori's veiled hint I think that talking to her without Cressa would be the best way to go....
If you look at the last scentence Jessie lets go of Cressa's hand so he must be wanting to deal with this on his own.....

VEILED HINT?
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN
Iunno, I just wanted to point out that at this stage the clues are pretty obvious if you know what to look for. I'll let y'all know when it gets more ambiguous. I swear, if you guys reach the last scenario you will be SCRATCHING your HEADS XD You'll see what I mean...
Actually, the release of the hand doesn't mean anything in particular other than he's preparing to deal with the issue. He can ignore Cressa's bitchiness when it's not directed at Coline. XD Yeah, the "girlfriends" comment is a jibe at Gloria rather than him. She's doing her reading thing again, using people's secrets against them. She's ALWAYS up to that.

Something's telling me staying around to talk is only going to piss Cressa off more. I wish there was a "run away" option. xD Unless that's what C is for? What do you guys think?
EDIT: Oh wait, Mabo already rolled for it didn't he. >3>;; My bad.

*rolls around*
Nope, no run away option. 3rd option does what it says on the tin - Jessie will draw his weapons and attempt to threaten her off. Second option will haul Cressa to her feet and bring her staggering over to confront her together, first option Jessie will abandon her collapsed on the ground and go to talk to her by himself. And something tells me even if there was a run away option it would lead to even more trouble with Gloria. She's confronting Jessie for a reason, and won't be satisfied until she's had her fill... or lies dead.
It may seem insignificant, but already this whole part of the scenario is causing repercussions which will last well into the second Event. If you guys choose the right options I will explain just how so once the scenario is finished. The couple of outsiders I've told have been astonished at how extensively it's all been planned out, so I figure you'd be interested to know. XD
C'mon, guys. This is practically a training level. You can do it!
*also antsing after so many days* >3>;

As one last piece of advice, here are some things to think about when choosing options:
- Who would be involved in the interaction? (Jessie, Cressa, both? What about the person they're interacting with?)
- What is the relationship of Jessie/Cressa to the person? (have they expressed like or dislike, how long have they known each other, has there been any indication towards hidden feelings or agendas on either part [In the case of Gloria this stretches right back to her introduction in the long training post, "Red Sky in the Morning." Same with any other characters we have previously met.]?)
- Is this a situation where Cressa is likely to cause trouble? (This is something which should always be taken into account - she is volatile, so keep an eye out for any aggressiveness from the get-go. Is this person a potential love rival, does she consider them inferior? Is her bad behaviour or interference likely to provoke negative reactions or cause negative results?)
- On the flipside, is this a situation where Cressa is likely to be an asset? (seduction or intimidation of men, ability to see through lies and herself lie effectively)
I figured this would be helpful because most of my writing, especially in this context, is very character-driven. Maybe try and think about it differently - it's not what they're DOING, it's what they ARE. Don't think about actions, think about intentions and consequences.
Don't forget to read the trivia sections, for as things advance I'll be talking more about CHARACTERS. Knowing them better should help you.
For example:
- When Jessie acts, he thinks of OTHERS. When Cressa acts, she thinks of HERSELF.
- Cressa reasons rather UNCONVENTIONALLY and is spontaneous. Jessie is more likely to brood and be RATIONAL.
