L'mur nodded. "Won't be too long, the way she's growing," he grinned. "I'm sorry, did you tell me your name?" he asked, radiating innocence.
Rinfala, he repeated. Thank you for telling me. And you are..?

Rinfala smacked her forehead. "Shards, knew I forgot something. I'm Rinfala. That's P'las, and the bluerider is Nevaeh." She looked at him curiously. "You are...?"
You're welcome... Zelith said. I am Zelith.

L'mur grinned. "S'alright. Pleased to meet you, Rinfala, P'las, Nevaeh. I'm L'mur, I thought I said that..?" He shook his head, momentarily confused. "Whatever. Enjoying the Gather?"
Lovely to "meet" you, Zelith. Are you and Rinfala new to the Weyr? The former harper had been working on holding similar "double" conversations.

"Oh..." Rinfala flushed and looked away, embarassed. "Can't believe I forgot...shards, I can be so stupid sometimes." She grimaced at herself, then pushed it to the back of her mind and nodded. "Yes, quite. Rather different than Ista, but not unpleasantly."
Yes.

"Oh it's fine," L'mur said cheerfully. "It's a bit distracting here; so many people." He made a face, even though the noise and general busy-ness didn't particularly bother him. "Newly transferred, then?"

Siran grumbled, not pleased by any stretch of the imagination to be making an appearance at the Turn's End Gather. Least of all, not with the small, vain miniature of Tiranth. Shards, when she'd run into the big smith, she hadn't thought that she'd be making off with one of his firelizards. The little beasts drove her positively to distraction with their antics, of which she deeply disapproved.
Still, there was a certain charm to the wee thing. The youngling lay curled on her shoulder like a particularly fancy emerald cloak pin, yet there had never been a cloak pin so demanding as little... had she given the 'lizard a name? It seemed that that line of business had quite slipped her mind.
She needs a name. Tiranth insisted strongly, slight overtones of irritation entering into her mindvoice.
Of course the proud and similarly vain green would find fault with that lack. After all, the young one was nearly her duplicate, if ever so smaller, and turns younger. Just as the blond (and for once, fancily garbed) rider stepped out of the main crowd, she found herself face to face with- "Jessmet? Well met, m'lady."
An uneasy smile settled itself over her lips, reminding Siran of the circumstances under which she had met the young holder girl. Her green was showing every sign that she would Fly soon, and fetching the girl had given her the excuse she needed to be away from the Weyr when Ariath rose.

Rinfala nodded. "Aye, I'm used to a little more solitude. Though it is nice to get out and have fun once in a while." She studied the area a bit, watching the other weyrfolk. She still needed to meet people...she didn't know many here. "So...how long have you been here?"

Jessmet had been standing on tip-toe, trying to see over the heads of the crowd. She started, hearing her name, and whirled around. "Oh! Well met, Siran," she chirped. "How have you been?" Finally, someone she knew!
Bronze Az echoed her tone, giving a friendly cheep to the little green attached to Siran's front.

"Uhm. Over a Turn now, almost two? I was Searched for the old queen's last clutch, and decided to stick around. I'm hold-bred and harper-trained, so I suppose I ended up being useful. Anyway, I Impressed this time around. " L'mur shrugged. "There are a lot of new people, I've noticed." Pouring a bit of wine into a goblet for himself, he sipped slowly.

"Well enough," Siran grumbled lightly,"for all that I have this pint sized nuisance attached to me wherever I go." The gruff greenrider was mostly blustering. The young firelizard had already wound her around her tiniest little claw, assuring herself a place in the rider's heart when she'd looked up with great intelligence into her eyes and sent thoughts of how much she adored Siran, and how brave she was to have rescued her from her frantic flight around the halls.
"Got a smith to thank for her, of course. All of you lot," she indicated the nonriders in the crowd,"bring more trouble than anything else with you." A grin showed that she was speaking in jest. "But perhaps we'll make a rider out of you yet, m'dear." The little green's eyes whirled a brilliant blue as she watched the bronze, and after a moment she acknowledged him with a sound of her own, and a settling of her wings.

"Nice." Rinfala nodded and sipped a bit of her wine, though she found herself more interested in what this weyrling had to say. "I'm holdbred myself...well, craftbred really. Worked with runners until I was Searched." She chuckled. "Was quite surprising when I Impressed brown, actually. Zelith kinda herded me out of the group without realizing it before he said anything." She rolled her eyes, but her affectionate tone belied her true thoughts on the matter. "Weyrling training was...interesting. Though I hope you have an easier time of it than I did." A shadow passed over her face as memories of S'nan flickered through her mind. She missed him...but he and Aroth were gone...lost between.

Jessmet giggled slightly. "Have you named her yet? This little boy here-" she indicated the bronze, "is called Az." She held out a hand for the green hatchling to inspect. "She's lovely. Tiranth in miniature." She grinned, the expression making her look entirely too much like her brother.
The greenrider's last comment startled her. "Me? Oh I don't know about that. I'm only supposed to be here for a visit... You heard Mother."
Az's eyes whirled happily, his supple tail wrapped firmly around Jess' neck. ------
"My family's hold raises herdbeasts, and one of my brothers is a tanner," L'mur explained. With a laugh, he said, "Well, your brown certainly knew what he wanted! And weyrling training is going well. Busy, of course, and we got stuck waitering, but ah well." He noticed the shadow across her face, but didn't pry.

"I don't suppose you'd be willing to help me come up with a name?" Siran asked, agrieved. Clever she might be, but she'd never had a knack with naming things. Tiranth had of course been born knowing her own name. It had been an amusing surprise that she'd had a name similar enough to her rider's (a name which had, after all, been shortened). But still... she had not named her. "Oh, I meant nothing by that comment... only that I think that you would make a fine dragonrider."
Little miss no-name stared shrewdly at Az, with a demanding sort of flick of her wings, and curved her neck to observe him. She creeled, quietly, eyes beginning to whirl with the distanst echo of hunger.
"Oh dear... We'd best find some meatrolls or something to quiet the little bit while we talk. I must have forgotten to slip her something before we arrived." It would not be unlike you to forget something as important as mealtimes. Tiranth said plainly, clearly disturbed by her rider's poor attention to details.

So you're not too much of a stranger to that work yourself." She laughed uneasily. "Most of it isn't too bad, but when it comes to between training...pay attention. It'll mean your life if you don't...trust me, I know from experience."

"I could try," Jess said, biting her lip in thought. "How about Beryl? They're lovely green gems, and she looks so decorative on your shoulder." She peered at the hatchling.
As the green began demanding food, Az's belly suddenly felt distinctly empty. His eyes whirled orange and he tried nibbling on a lock of Jessment's hair.
"Hey you, stop that," she ordered, pulling her hair out of reach. "We'll get you something. The weyrlings are supposed to be serving food... You haven't seen my brother, have you?" The last part was aimed at Siran, although she kept an eye on the bronze firelizard. ----
"Nope, hardly a stranger." He sensed her unease and gave her his most reassuring smile. "Of course. Farin has impressed upon us all the dangers of between." Still not wanting to pry, he asked softly, "Did you.. lose someone..?"
